"Another Transfer Co. favorite, Alimentari at Left Bank is chock full of gourmet groceries, and of course, sandwiches. Tigelles, bite-sized sandwiches on homemade flatbread are a perfect snack and filled with everything from tomato jam to tuna salad. Alimentari also offers full-sized goodness like a meatball sub or caprese sandwich. Pro tip: Grab some freshly made pasta, antipasti, and other Italian specialties to take home for later." - Catherine Currin

Google
I had the great opportunity to eat at Alimentari while my parents were visiting town, and I'm beyond glad I did! I've passed by it several times while in Transfer Co. before, and now I can confidently say it's easily one of the best places there. I ordered four tigelle (Italian sliders) served on soft light buns which were like biting into a pillow. The mediterranean chicken salad was lovely, the tomato jam reminded me of an elevated pizza roll, the deviled proscuitto was unlike anything I've had before and the mortadella had some solid quality meat. Their larger sandwiches look pretty serious as well, my mom gave hers high praise and I know she has some amazing leftovers to eat. Make sure not to overlook this place if you're at Transfer Co., it's something pretty special!

Google
The best sandwiches in Raleigh hands down! The warm, crispy yet soft bread has such a great taste, it’s almost as if you’re eating a slice of heaven. Today I tried the herbed chicken and meatball sub, The meatball sub has a delicious homemade sauce that melts on your tastebuds immediately, while the herbed chickens pesto freshens your mouth. ☀️ slay

Google
Had a sour tasting caprese. Checked the lettuce and these stems were basically mushing together. Had some other suspect pieces. Still love the place but sour lettuce can make you sick if you don’t rotate it

Google
Excellent service and a nice selection of sandwiches. We would definitely stop in again if we are in the area.

Google
Their sandwiches are actually fantastic if not a bit messy. Don't let the mess scare you away though, the flavor is great. Probably the best Italian I've had in a really long time if not ever. My wife also said the meatball was great. To be honest the frozen premade meals (we tried the chicken parmesan) wasn't anything special, especially for the price. That said, all of their fresh stuff is delicious.

Google
I love this place! Everything I have tried has been delicious. Their pasta night on Thursdays is always a must, never disappoints. We love to bring home some fresh pasta and vodka sauce for an easy dinner. Great menu and great service. Highly recommend!

Google
Go here, order and eat several little sandwiches (Tigelle) or one large one (if you're starving). Maybe split the large one with a lucky significant other if you're out together. Sides are very tasty too. Friendly and helpful staff as well. I've eaten here multiple times and been very impressed each visit.

Google
Holy moly! One of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. So so good.

Yelp
An excellent butcher. Knowledgeable, helpful, and with some outstanding cuts of meat. Throw in the delicious house-made pastas, sauces and bread, and you've got the recipe for a top-drawer spot. And don't miss out on their sandwiches. The Hot Italian is one of the best sandwiches in Raleigh and the Club is THE best sandwich in Raleigh

Max E.

Yelp
Great stuff! Every time I'm in here, I have something at this place and had most on their menu. Awesome customer service great people. The food is amazing.!

John R.

Yelp
Hit this spot a couple of times. Tbh food is fine. Wish it was a bit better. Had the tigelle, the assortment of the day and enjoyed it but left a lot for the imagination. Ordered six total and he charged me for 3 x2 knowing 5+1 was cheaper. Had to correct him. Then went back another day and had a full sub, had the meatball and it was good but just that, just good.

Gil T.

Yelp
When you've got house-cured salami, capicola and spicy soppressata, it's not hard to quit cold turkey. I'm already fiending for another hot Italian sub from Alimentari because this was one of the best sandwiches I've had lately. This place is a phenomenal Italian craft butcher shop with top-shelf sandwiches, including their unique tigelle sandwiches that I haven't seen anywhere else around here. From the bread to the meat quality to the lights-out hot pepper relish, this might be the best lunch bite amongst plenty of killer options at Transfer Food Hall. The deli case and freezer also feature quality options that use produce and meat from great local farms. This Italian stallion unleashed a high-horsepower battalion of Boldness, and we'll be banking left toward Left Bank when we walk into the food hall next time.

Yelp
I thought I only loved my moms meatballs, but this place proved me wrong. Everything is so delicious and the servers are lovely!

Macy G.

Yelp
Amazing place!! Customer service is superb and the food is local and homemade :) best place in the food hall

Cindy C.

Yelp
This place is fantastic! I have only been here once last week and ordered 5 tigelles for $12. Tigelles are basically mini sandwiches, so you can try several different ones without getting overly stuffed. Alimentari has such unique flavor combinations for the tigelles that all came together beautifully despite my initial skepticism about some of the combos, and it's clear that everything is very fresh. Out of the five I had, my two favorites were the egg salad with bacon and pecorino as well as the salami with stracchino and spicy pepper relish. In addition to the tigelles, Alimentari also serves full size sandwiches along with a variety of meats, pastas, pasta sauces, cheeses, etc. for you to take home. Everything looked amazing and you can cook a delicious pasta meal at home or assemble your own charcuterie board!

Janet C.

Yelp
The BEST Italian sandwich! Uber fresh ingredients, delicious bread, Italian meats and cheeses. You can tell the staff takes pride in the quality of their product. Huge surprise for a food hall. The Transfer Hall has some great offerings and the area is kept clean.

Karen B.

Yelp
The crew at Alimentari never disappoints! Run and get the tomato jam tigelle while they still have it. Always great food and awesome service.

Holly K.

Yelp
I think Alimentari is a great addition to Transfer Co! At first I was a little confused about what they offer, but the employees are all friendly and happy to help guide you through your options. They have an amazing meat case if you are looking to purchase from the butchers shop and make dinner at home. They also have a beautiful pasta/specialty shop case as well. They carry things like compound butters, ravioli, pasta and other delicious things. I went in recently and stocked up on a variety of pasta options. All were delicious, the cheese ravioli was a favorite, and so was their cacio e pepe butter. If you'd like to eat there instead of take stuff home you can build your own charcuterie board or order some of their tigelle sandwiches. I haven't tried the tigelles yet but they look awesome-- basically small little culinary delights. You grab one of their little menu sheets and build your board of tigelles from there. I thought for the quality the prices were reasonable. It's never cheap to buy a charcuterie board or high quality meat, but you pay for the quality you receive!

Marin J.

Yelp
The first butcher I have found that knows their meat. Ask them anything. You can tell they are passionate from the bottom of their hearts about what they do. They 100% care about their product and the WHY is as important as WHERE. I don't think I trust sourcing from anywhere else but Alimentari from here on out. I had been searching for 10 years for a certain type of ham. When I queried the butcher here, he immediately knew what I was after. No quizzical looks or blank stares. Just straight up knowledge and passion for their products. Whoo. So I've tried things, and my go to, is the ham for holidays. Tried the bacon, and the charcuterie plate as well. I was less in love with the cp. In fact, the verdict from guests is presentation for the price, and the variety of the cheeses could have been better. But look, they got 5 stars from us anyway. Because we have always been just over the moon with what we have ordered.

Yelp
The sandwiches were subpar. The bread is dense, not soft. The roast beef had too much pepper for my taste. The cheesesteak was too greasy. The home made lasagna - that you bake at home - was ok. The homemade spaghetti was the best item we bought. The vodka sauce was ok.

Stephanie J.

Yelp
It is neat to have this spot in Transfer Co. My husband and I decided to split a tigelle combo, you can do 3 for $8, 4 for $10 or 5 for $12. We chose to do 4 and they were tasty. My personal favorite was the prosciutto cotto, cacio cavallo and chestnut honey. After multiple attempts to make pasta successfully at home, I was happy that we could pick up fresh pasta to take home. We left with spaghetti, meatballs and the Amatriciana sauce. I did not care for the sauce and would opt for the regular tomato next time. I can't wait to try more pastas and meats!

Cassie A.

Yelp
My search for the perfect Italian sandwich has come to an end...at Alimentari! From the crusty bread to the spicy cold cuts, this sandwich has it all. Then they add Italian dressing and fresh vegetables, simply perfect. I want to try the caprese next, I have no doubt it'll be amazing.

Dale D.

Yelp
The tigelle with a variety of ingredients is what you want to try because it is the little taste bite, the slider, and popular Italian street food in Emilia-Romagna, tigelle (also known as crescentine) are flatbreads not too dissimilar from English muffins. They're usually taken hot straight out of the special iron pan, split open and stuffed with a delicious array of cured meats and cheeses to create a seriously good sandwich with cheeses, charcuterie, giardinari, prosciutto, beef, lamb, pork chops, and anything else your flavor passions may desire. Nice for brunch and lunch because you can browse the cases for a great variety of tasty morsels. Definitely need to go back soon.

Greg T.

Yelp
Walked in near closing so I didn't get to buy the things I wanted, but I did get to grab 3 tigelles (one meatball parm, one caprese and one Salame Cotto, Spicy Pepper Relish, Stracchino). Really unique bites filled with fresh and flavorful ingredients. You could tell that they put a lot of thought into each combination as the flavors played powerfully off of each other. Their meatballs were off the hook - def will be back to snag a few of these. Hopefully it will be before they start putting stuff away so I can also grab some fresh pasta. Neat place - wish I lived within walking distance!

Yelp
As an Italian from Louisiana (where the muffy was invented ) this place ruined it. This is NOT a muffuletta.

Jbw 7.

Yelp
I been to this food hall a few times and they got really good options, today I tried this place and i was very disappointed, I ordered 3 tigelle sandwiches so I could try 3 different ones, the egg salad, Mediterranean and tomato jam I believe it was the third one, the sandwiches were cold which I believe they are served like that, when i had the first bite the bread was so hard that i had to literally bit the sandwich pretty hard in order to get something in my mouth, the filling was so salty, I thought maybe is just this one so i move to the next one, and the same thing salty and hard like a rock, I didn't try the third one . I left hungry lol, got home and ate something else. I would not come back to this place.

TJ M.

Yelp
One of the best sandwiches I've had. Fresh bacon and a hot Club experience. Plus, the fact that you can enjoy their fine food while quaffing Burial Beer is wonderful. Great and friendly service seals the deal. Wish we had something like this at home!

Shonda P.

Yelp
I had a good ol Hot Italian sandwich for the first time today and it was very tasty. I don't care for prosciutto so next time I'll ask to leave it off. The older gentleman was kind and the guy that made my sandwich was cool. They also had frozen pork and beef bones to purchase for your pet. I'll be back

Tom S.

Yelp
You can't go wrong with anything here! Been several times and the mini sandwiches are great but don't over look the full size that are just as good!

Michael T.

Yelp
Ribeye Chops were Outstanding, and Great service that Recommended them and how to prep for best taste.

Amy H.

Yelp
I love this deli! They have fresh pasta, tasty tigelles, and the most delicious breakfast sausage I've ever eaten! Tigelles are tiny sandwiches with a variety of meats, cheeses, and spreads. I like that they are small because I was able to try a bunch of different ones without getting too full! So far, I've liked every single one that I have Had, but I am partial to the pork and beef meatballs with tomato sauce and the fresh mozzarella with tomato jam. Next time you are at Transfer Food Hall, you should definitely check this place out!

Neltonia P.

Yelp
Alimentari at Left Bank Butchery located in the Transfer Co Food Hall has amazing options for your charcuterie board. A collaboration between Mothers & Sons and Left Bank Butchery, Alimentari brings you a farm fresh menu with Italian specialties, fresh made in house pasta and high quality grass fed pork and beef. They are one of the only whole animal butcheries in the state.  Their notable Tigelle are made fresh daily and filled with cured meats, cheeses and spreads. The size is perfect to enjoy more than one and I guarantee you will want to try them all! We bought some of their pork belly, breakfast sausage, cacio e pepe butter and pastrami. The pastrami, yummm, I couldn't stop eating it when I got it home and was putting it away! Be sure to visit them, you will not be disappointed and their freshness can't be beat!

Brooks P.

Yelp
The Italian sub here is best in Raleigh. Amazing!!! They use all their own cured meats and serve it hot. Every time I go a swear I'm going to try something new and always go back to that same sandwich because it's so darn good.

Greg L.

Yelp
I Had high hopes today, was sadly disappointed. Ordered a caprese sandwich and added prosciutto. Bread was old and stale. They over saturated the bread the balsamic vinegar. Mozzarella cheese was not of quality, and they added baby lettuce and mixed greens to my sandwich. Sorry thats a not a caprese sandwich, didn't even find any fresh basil in it. For a $15 sandwich I expect more. Sandwich was not of quality nor did it taste like. Lessoned learned, will not be coming back to this food station ever. Those reading this, proceed with caution.

Sheryl P.

Yelp
I had the best Italian sandwich for brunch this morning! Great tasting meats, incredible peppers, tasty vinegrette... I could eat this every day. The woman who took my order was sweet and friendly. I will be back!

Alex W.

Yelp
They make the best sandwiches in Raleigh. A true deli. I'd recommend a favorite but I would just be lying - they are all great. I love the frozen selections to make at home as well as the ever-changing selection of takeaway meats, cheeses, spreads and more.

Yellow I.

Yelp
Great selection of meats and cheese. Amazing team. I recommend you come check these guys out!

Casey C.

Yelp
The employees here are very knowledgeable & friendly! My husband is processing deer meat for the first time on his own & the staff had so many great pointers & suggestions which helped make the process less painful then it could have been. Oh & the molasses bacon is bomb!

Krista G.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I'll never be able to taste what appeared to be great food behind the counter due to discriminatory language and a look of pure hatred from staff. Sad thing is, the employee did not even realize how discriminatory he was. Sorry, you've lost my business forever.

Matt W.

Yelp
Got a perfect Italian beef 12 minutes before they closed. Super nice guys and friendly chat while I waited. The guy who rung me out said their hours will extend here shortly so that's good news for everyone!

Jeff D.

Yelp
I had the hot Italian sandwich. It was delicious and very sizeable given the price. Highly recommend this place, I can't wait to go back!

James B.

Yelp
It was the middle of the week. 5:55 pm when I came in the foodhall and I didn't know what to eat. First I walked up to the "left bank" but I wasn't sure so I walked to the back and looked at the seafood place. I decided to walk back to the front and started ordering. The girl at the counter said we are closed, she said we close at 6. I looked at my phone, it was 6:01pm...
