We came here because the lady whom we met at the airport recommended us to come here so we did! We ordered lemongrass tofu banmi, green burrito 🌯 and acai bowl 🥣 Everything was so delicious 😋 Healthy, yummy and somehow economical! We had a great time indeed! We weren’t that hungry but that filled us up very nicely! We’d love to come back again! Keep up the good work and cheers 🥂

Enjoyed our takeout lunch experience at Alive and Well’s Broth Café. The menu is packed with a variety of nutritious and mouth-watering meals that left us feeling both satisfied and energized. Their smoothie and fresh juice options are equally fantastic, so refreshing, vibrant, and made with the freshest ingredients! The staff were warm and welcoming, adding to the positive vibe that makes this café stand out. They also have a phenomenal array of health products and biggest collection of essential oils I have come across so far on my travels here.I bought a new scent to try out! I recommend it for anyone looking for delicious, healthy food with a friendly atmosphere.

Cute health store with fresh food, supplements, purified water by weight, juices, coffee, smoothies, and groceries! Would definitely frequent if I lived here.

This is a wonderful place to come and have a healthy lunch or snack! You can get a cup of the freshest water on Maui have a beautiful grain bowl with fresh fish or a pre-made sandwich with organic ingredients. Lots of products here are sourced from the island and the owners are always helpful and willing to give some guidance on the supplement section if you're interested in that. As a customer you should be valued above your employees. I wasn’t going to make a review but I witness a customer being treated horribly by one of the employees in the cafe. The customer did talk to the manager about the employees attitude and instead of apologizing he yelled at the customer because they said they should be more considerate with the customer vs. taking the side of the employee. The manager got very angry and yelled at the customer in front of everyone in the store and told the customer who was being police and nice and not making a scene to leave. I felt bad for the customer but she already left before I could check on them. They obviously don’t know how to treat customers. After that incident I don’t shop there anymore and would not recommend this place to anyone. Go to down to earth or Whole Foods

We had lunch at Alive and Wellʻs Broth Café! Their menu is fabulous with so many nutritious meals that are absolutely delicious!! They also make great smoothies and fresh juice choices. There's a nice little bar in the café you can sit and eat your meal or take it to go.

Really great selection of supplements and knowledgeable staff to help with recommendations. Great food at Broth Cafe and high quality groceries. They've got it all!

I enjoyed the refreshing blue coconut drink with spirulina, which makes it so glowing, and the delicious coconut drink as well. And let's not forget the Moose chocolate—it was my favorite! This place is a must-visit for delightful treats!

I have long been a fan of this spot back to my college days when I would stop in for their sun dried tomato raw burger. The menu has evolved and the space is more open now. My sister eats here regularly and I stop in whenever I'm on island. I know I can trust the food and feel good after I eat even if I load up on desserts, which I do. They have honi honi chocolates and niu life vegan cheesecake!! Their bowls are great too. We ordered the green bowl, Mac crack bowl and the lemongrass chicken bowl. Service was also very nice and accommodating for my carrot allergy. We did leave not realizing we didn't have our smoothie nestled in our bag so heads up that you have to wait for that separately.

cute little health food store with a cafe and a fridge with drinks and premade rolls and wraps. Service was quick and friendly. This is conveniently located near my gym and a go to for a post gym meal.

I don't know how I've managed to drive past here for so long without actually knowing what I've been missing out on. At least from my first experience today. The presentation & even the taste of everything was even better then I expected. I try to eat & drink healthy when I can. Which when you do you can actually taste the difference when quality ingredients are used. Even the full feeling afterwards doesn't weigh you down. Instead it energizes you & when my body feels good I'm happier, it shows. As for an example, I'm not a beet fan because of their strong earthy flavor. However I know they are good for you so I'll try adding them into my diet every once in awhile. So I pored myself a shot of beet juice thinking I'd swallow holding my breath. Except I was caught off gard. With the added ingredients the earthy smell wasn't as potent, it was even smooth going down. Plus it didn't have that bitter aftertaste. This is the first time I've ever tasted a beet juice this good I finished the bottle & was still craving more. Being that this was my first visit, I'm definitely intrigued & need to come back to try out more of their menu. Plus just to figure out all my new favorites. So glad I stumbled upon this place! Great food and drinks, ordering online was extremely convenient and fast!

No trip to Maui would be complete without a trip or two to Alive & Well in Kahului! The small cafe called BROTH is just plain amazing! We ordered the reasonably-priced congee (not common in a non-Asian restaurant) and it was sublime. Total comfort food with so much umami. The taro banh mi is SO yummy and has perfectly balanced flavors. The only thing we could recommend is that the bread be a bit bigger/wider as it's too skinny for all the goodies that are trying to stay inside! The desserts in the fridge are out of this world especially the vegan mousses and tapioca puddings. You guys ROCK!

I have always loved this place. Mona and husband are so kind to counsel and give the BEST ADVISE!!! So now I am trying the cafe and I must say it is so delicious I will start taking people to lunch here! I will try the juice fast soon and many more I am so thankful as my health is better for coming here!!! MAHALO ALIVE AND WELL!

Alive & Well is a vitamin & supplement store that also sells a handful of organic, healthier-made snacks and groceries. A Vortex Power-brand water purification machine is available too. Opened a few years ago, their Broth Cafe inside shells out ramen, healthy bowl meals, sandwiches, salads, burritos, toasts, coffees & smoothies. Hidden inside a health supply store is a delicious cafe with fresh eats. Items can be made to order or you have nice options to grab and go. You can order using a computer or directly at the counter. There were lots of yummy options. Sadly, we stopped by for an açaí bowl because we saw pictures of it. They no longer serve this. Once we got our food, I was shocked at the size for the price. I changed my thoughts after I ate this delicious meal. I was satisfied and felt energized. The ingredients are local and farm fresh. I understand why there was a constant flow of people ordering food. They know what's up!

Came here for the smoothies and we were super happy with them! They have a variety of flavours to choose from. We ordered the DJ blast and island greens and they were so refreshing. The smoothies here range from $8-10 depending on which flavour you get.

I got a really bad sore throat while on vacation. This place's blueberry smoothie and chicken/pork broth were a godsend for that. I'm very thankful.

Alive & Well Natural Health is your one stop shop to being healthy and or to getting healthy. When you walk through the front doors, to your right is all your health care items, from vitamins, specific medicines. healthy snacks, and even a sitting area to be able to talk to one of their very informative people in helping you get better from what you are suffering from. Behind the counter, you can find different brands of CBD. Personally we go with the CW brand as they are one of the most reputable brands. Turn to the left and you will see a whole section of food items. They have a cold case that has a whole bunch of yummy for your tummy food items. Some things they have ready to take and eat are their sandwiches, sushi, assortment of desserts and yes they even have raw gluten free vegan pies so check them out. They even have a counter where you can order other kinds of food as well as drink. One of my favorite things to eat there is their avocado toast. It tastes so good and believe it or not it is healthy for you too. Double points. I'm not one to be a healthy eater per say but I do feel good when I eat good food as they have here.

We love this place! Someone where we were staying recommend it and during one of our stops in Kahului we had lunch at Broth. It was fantastic. There are several vegan food options that are outstanding. I had the mushroom lentil bowl and my wife ordered tofu poke and seasonal veggies, both sides. Everything was very fresh, savory and absolutely wonderful. The people working here are great too. It's a must stop for anyone, especially if you're vegan. The options in Kahului are somewhat limited and this is one of the best new spots for lunch or dinner that we've found. Highly recommend!

This was our last "eating" stop on our way back home. I wish I had found this place on our arrival and on our treks through Paia. I found this place on a Yelp search. And I almost did not walk in based on the looks from the outside. Don't get me wrong....there's nothing wrong with the looks - I just didn't think it looked like much of a place to get a smoothie or breakfast. Once I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised. It was like walking into a smaller, independent "Whole Foods." They have a nice market with excellent products that cater to organic, non-GMO, vegan, etc. I ordered at the food bar. It was tough to make a choice because everything sounded so good. I ended up with an almond and cacao smoothie and a smoked salmon/avocado toast. The workers were very friendly. And when the food came out.... you could tell that they were very proud of their craft. Please see the pictures posted and visit. The food is wholesome, satisfying and delicious!

There are very few places to get a healthy meal in Central Maui, but here is one worth going to. My go to are usually the DJ blast smoothie and an Avocado summer roll with peanut sauce. Can't go wrong there. The offer great juices and cleanses as well as salads and plate lunches. My last visit I tried their Miso Ramen and fish sandwich. Unfortunately, was starving and taking a picture was last on my mind. But take my word it was delicious. Prices are high for the size of what you get, but having a small locally owned business in Hawaii is not easy. Support local when you can.

Such a special place and an important shop to support. Unlike many shops on island, this one doesn't have any funk or chemical scents, only the best organic everything. The best people. Yummy fresh coconut cream. All the supplements. Real water. Thank you for everything.

I was extremely satisfied with how Estrella (I hope I have her name right) helped me yesterday, March 14th. She made me my favorite salad after Broth had closed at 5:00. I thought Broth was opened the same time as the store. Estrella went our of her way to make me the salad, even though Broth was closed. I am one HAPPY customer!!! :-)

Broth is amazing! Great plant based choices and the prices are reasonable. Maui certainly needs more vegan/plant based options to carry forth the message of health and wellness through nutrition. We had the tofu gyoza, eggplant panzella, and the mushroom lentil bowl which we devoured before I could take a picture.

SMOOTHIES you HAVE to get the DJ Blast smoothie. It has a certain taste to it that's absolutely yummy that during my stay I came here 3 times in one week for this smoothie. Acai smoothie was good too! FOOD was all delicious including the pesto pasta salad, the avocado salad, and the craisins salad. Their breakfast chicken sausage burrito was so good I ate 2 in one week. Chicken salad sandwich I took on my road to Hana trip and it was good too! Sampled a soup and it was good too. Only thing I didn't like was their passion fruit cheesecake which is not made with any cheese so it has this chalky texture bland taste to to it, but I'm sure it's really healthy. INSIDE is like a health food store with organic options and a lot of vitamins. Ordering food is to the left. You order then pay at the register at the front of the store using the sticker bar codes they give you. Basically on the honor system. No laptops allowed in the eating area. DEALS check in for 5% off or $1 off smoothie but each time the 5% was a bigger discount since you can't combine the two. OVERALL this place has awesome food and smoothies. I recommend it.

Such a cute little shop. I love that there are specialty vegan, organic, natural items as well as a cafe with a good variety of healthy goods. I visited Broth, the cafe inside, which had a self order screen which is kinda cool, I liked how it showed me the ingredients in each item and was user friendly. Ordered the Green Bowl and Matcha Smoothie. The Green Bowl was pretty yummy, lots of different things in the bowl itself and the price was good for the quality and quantity. It came with some cabbage, potatoes, avocado, radish and that Mac crack was BOMB.com.. low key wish there was more lol. There was an option on the menu to add extra sauce which I should've got because the bottom of the bowl got kinda flavorless and dry. The flavor up top was yummy though. The Matcha Smoothie had an good yet acquired taste. When I first tasted it.. there was something that made me furrow my eyebrows lol. The more I drank it, the less I seemed to notice that interesting after taste. I still can't put my finger on what it was though Perhaps a very strong matcha powder..? Anyways, overall it was yummy. Coconutty and a pretty hearty consistency which I'm thinking is from an avocado since my smoothie turned brown after a few minutes (which I totally understand). After ordering, my order was ready rather quickly.. maybe 7-8 minutes or so which gave me time to look around the aisles. The associate at the register also was super friendly and attentive, greeting and thanking each customer who came in. I would most likely return to try more items and invite others to try here too :)

Stopped at this place for lunch. They boast vegetarian and veagan options so, I was interested to see their selection. I was not disappointed as the menu had plenty to choose from. The deli is in the back of the store with a few tables and a small bar area if you want to stay. I love places like this...local mom and pop shop. Good food and everyone friendly. Parking lot fills up fast but, I seen people park across the street and super short walk to the place. If you are able, check this one out.

Oh I wish I lived near this store. The deli is outstanding! So many delicious and fresh vegan and vegetarian options! The veggie sandwich and chia pudding were two of my faves. A great stop for healthy snacks if heading on the road to Hana. There is not a huge selection of grocery items (the store is fairly small) but you should be able to find at least one brand/type of what you're looking for, I did. They have a produce section as well; when I was there they had several local produce items - yay, so happy to see that! Friendly staff, decent prices.

This place I love and hate it... today I hated it. I ordered a rare special fish of the day... OPAH - ahhh heaven if you know opah ... it's moist and delicate (when cooked correctly) it melts from your fork and flakes in tasty morsels. I usually get some great prepackaged item from the deli as it's fast, cheap 'clean' food. You just can't beat it for a quick grab! Their cases are full of tasty healthy items and fast friendly service. The cashier of the NEW BROTH CAFE inside this health food store invited me to try a new full menu item prepared fresh and it sounded amazing being opah one of my favorite fish! My delicious congee came out right away - it was take out for dinner but the fish took so long I began to eat it already as I was hungry. About half way through my 'fresh fish' came and it looked to have been quickly deep fried... likely not?!? But it just looked funny not at all the moist delicate fish I expect in an opah. Hmmmm I poke it with a fork and it appears rubbery and will not break away. I get my fingers in and break it off to see its undercooked. Dang ... should I bother to mention it? Well yes! $14 is a bit more than I usually spend in case items so I speak up. The cashier staff is friendly and takes it. A few min later I see a an angry young man coming towards me with the offending fish with the best intimidation 'death stare' u can imagine... does this guy practice? He's so good at being mean faced!! "I find this fish flaky and moist!" he barks. Pushing his angry controlling face into my bewildered one... "Do u want to keep it?! Since it IS moist and flaky. I reply "with THAT stare, I guess so!" Uhhh I recover, "What's ur name? Are u the chef!??" I ask since no introduction was given. "Yes, I am the chef. I am Noah" And turns on his heel. "You know what, Noah, I find I do NOT want to keep it. " He ignores me and walks away - his practiced evil stare now positioning itself onto the friendly cashiers. Hmmm well I get up and place the offensive food and receipt to a cashier and say "I don't want this." They say I can have refund. Much later a friendly cashier returns with a receipt - saying "here's your receipt, your refund has been denied" ??!!? I say "sure I'd be happy to discuss this with the manager. " Nope I'm told "he's too busy, you have been denied a refund" Well I get up and leave the new eatery and walk to the registers to find the ever hard working manager Michael, very busy with a clean up and mop. I speak right up amidst his busy-ness explaining how rudely I have been treated over a $14 item . He was IMMEDIATELY responsive and refunded my money. Chef 101.... If a customer doesn't like something... refire it. Don't fire up your ego and get in a customers face and tell your cashiers a refund is being denied when the food is gone and the money is gone.... Bad combination for repeat business - especially for a NEW cafe on an island FULL of food options. My rant for the day... but I won't let it ruin my Saturday

Clean delicious food and a health store attached to grab last minute things. Loved it here. The fish bowl was fantastic. I would recommend not getting mixed greens under the fish though. It wilted. Still delicious though!!

Loved the Island Greens smoothie, I came for 4 days straight for it!! Had their Lemongrass chicken bowl which was extremely dry. Avoid the bowls, get the smoothies & shoutout to the amazing staff - they were so kind :)

Never had a bad experience here. Customer service and food are always on point. Their dishes are prepared so well, so fresh tasting and amazing flavors. Their tan tan ramen is absolute favorite! Totally recommend giving this place a go for a healthy light meal

This place was closed for eat in, so we ordered and took it with us. I had a fish sandwich, my wife a lemongrass chicken and rice bowl. To drink we each splurged on an organic juice - for me a beet juice combo, for my love a flower watermelon combo. I'd come here over and over if I was a local. Fresh, organic high end health food - delicious! Sorry I didn't have pics, I ate too fast!

BREAKFAST I have driven by Alive & Well countless times, and finally decided to stop in today. The business is mostly a health and wellness store, However, there is also a restaurant portion I was not aware of until recently. You walk up to the counter of the restaurant to place your order. While you sit at the counter, they bring the food as it is finished. I am a fan of Bloody Marys, but unfortunately they do not have any. I looked through their nice variety of fresh juices, and bought a Watermelon Juice ($8.50). I also bought a large bottle of water ($1.39). I guess the restaurant food and fresh juice are typically paid at the restaurant while other items like my bottle of water are paid for at the store. At the restaurant, the cashier was kind enough to print off my order so I can pay for everything at the store cashier. I know she was being nice and trying to help. This did make it a little confusing and usually I am ready to write the tip on the restaurant copy but the store copy did not have a spot for tip. I hope they are able to eventually treat the restaurant and store all the same. This not only will make the experience more smooth for their guests, but then the restaurant staff will not miss out on tips. I am guessing similar experiences happen fairly often when someone is ready to tip for restaurant food but then does not tip when the food order is paid at the store cashier where there is no place to enter a tip. I am a fan of Avocado Toast. They have four types; Egg ($7), Miso Tahina ($7), Lox ($9), and Curried Chicken ($8). I ordered the Lox Avocado Toast and was extremely happy. The avocado was the perfect ripeness with creamy flavor. The salmon was also delicious and will definitely order this again, as well as the other thee versions. The service was excellent and everyone was very friendly and helpful. No Kama'aina discount available. Breakfast hours are 8 - 7 Monday through Friday, 8 - 6 Saturday and 10 - 5 Sunday. Alive & Well is an underrated breakfast spot as they serve breakfast late, have excellent customer service, and quality food. I also am highly interested in returning to try their two breakfast burritos; Green Breakfast Burrito ($8) (flour tortilla, seasonal roasted vegetables, sweet potato hash, cashew cream, cilantro, salsa) Breakfast Burrito ($8) (flour tortilla, egg, chicken, potato, cheese, sour cream, cilantro, salsa). They both sound fantastic. I should also add that they have cards where you get a free juice after buying nine.

Love this health food emporium. Their updated deli is outstanding. Great place for lunch or dinner. Mona and Dennis know more about health and wellness and vitamin supplements than anyone I have ever met. Rock on!!!!

Decent juices and smoothies - the same quality that you would find at any mom-and-pop fruit stand. Convenient little market with everything you need to stock up. Much quicker than going to a Costco/Walmart/Target if you can help it.

I love the new menu at Broth. Our favorites are the lemongrass chicken bowl, the Mac crack fish of the day bowl and all of the salads. The staff are always friendly. The maui bowl is also delicious. I do have a couple of unsolicited suggestions I'd like to see. First, maybe 2-3 options for a keiki menu. Second, it would be awesome to have a non peanut based dipping sauce for the rolls...almond or sunflower perhaps‍. I do recommend this place.

As a former professional chef I offer this I the spirit of assistance. Twice the ramen has been ordered and it came out Luke warm. The tofu was cold. I am gathering the tofu is pre-cooked and kept refrigerated so they can assemble the dish quickly. I had the mushroom miso broth which was tasty. As I see it the problem is that they don't keep the broth very hot because they don't want to ruin the nutritional value of the Miso. Understandable. So it would be wise to cook( better) or reheat the protein( not better) to order so it doesn't lower the temperature of the broth which is already not very hot. I asked for a remake and it was done . The egg in it was lovely. I hope the chef takes this constructive assistance in the spirit that is given for one professional to another. It's a great addition to the vegan food scene here on Maui. I want them to be highly successful

I usually really love going here for a DJ blast smoothie and a chicken banh-mi. This time, I had ordered my food ahead, over the phone and when I arrived to pick up my food and pay, I was told that the machine was down and they were only accepting cash. (could've meantioned something over the phone as well). Unfortunately for me, I didn't have any cash on me so I had to run to the bank to take cash out. I was super excited for my food and they had never disappointed me before so at this point it wasn't that big of a deal. The reason I am deciding to give 2 stars this time is because I had ordered a Dj Blast Smoothie and some Avocado Toast but when I finally received my meal after an unwarranted trip to the bank and back, I was majorly disappointed in the fact that my smoothie lacked it's usual sweetness and pizazz as if there were a couple of ingredients missing?? and then when I finally opened up my Avocado Toast, it was upsetting to find that it was just half of a plain avocado on some sourdough bread (i was hoping for at least some seasoning and MAYBE a mashed avocado?). I'm not expecting perfection, i just find it funny that they are allowed to sell this to customers at such a price. I'm thinking there might be some new staffing/training going on so I'm hoping that these mistakes will subside as time goes on. The photo was taken after I ate about half and then decided I couldn't finish because it was a bit unappetizing. ended up mashing the avocado and making my own toast, pretty disappointing for the hassle.

I'm very happy this place isn't strictly vegan! I love the Mac Crack Fish Bowl and Lemongrass Chicken. The sandwiches are also great remind me of Ba-Le , only better. Thanks to Tiana, I switched buying my workout supplements from GMC to here- she's very knowledgeable, helpfuland looks great--the proof is in the pudding.

We stopped here before going to OGG to catch our flight back to the mainland. I was blown away by the delicious congee! This was better than any congee I've had in Seattle or San Francisco, which is saying a lot! The broth was deep and flavorful, and the ginger added a ton of flavor. The food here is healthy and the prices are great. I couldn't believe how delicious the congee was.

Just want everyone to know that they no longer make açaí bowls but they make these amazing mountain bowls made of sweet potatoes that are not only beautiful but are delicious!

Pricey health food store. Some may like for instagrammable decor and food. The lox avocado toast I bought was amazingly good. But it was not cheap and came with a teeny piece of gluten-free bread (which is often way smaller than normal bread). I was starving after I ate it and ended up having to find more food immediately after I finished. Some restaurants will provide two pieces for GF bread, since it's so much smaller. Cheaper or larger? I'd be back. $9 for a couple bites? No thank you.

I rarely post about other people's food- cause I'm a chef- but lord, Broth the new restaurant inside Alive and Well in kahalui is spectacular- seriously inventive flavors, unique presentation and epic freshness! Pretty good! Prices are comparable to what things seem to cost in Hawaii, and the peanut butter cup smoothie and smoked salmon avocado toast was DELICIOUS! (&very pretty)

This hidden gem was so good! We went there on the day we arrived in the island, right after our flight and fell in love! So good that we went back again before we had to fly back home! I ordered the lox (avocado toast with smoked salmon) and added an extra "perfect egg". Now that egg was perfect! Although the second time around, the egg was overcooked, which was a bummer. Also ordered a "get your greens" smoothie, now that is one delicious smoothie! I'm gonna start making this a tradition and come here every time I visit Maui!

This place is my go-to lunch pick me up. I love the new renovation cafe style and often come for a quick smoothie, juice, or lunch I tried tofu ramen and was lighter than the meat broth. Recommend the meat broth for non vegetarians with deeper flavor.

My friends took me here, as I heard they have some delicious raw desserts, and I was not disappointed!! So, first of all, this is a smaller health food/grocery store, but they do have a pretty good selection of supplements, cosmetics, groceries and a small fresh prepared food area with indoor seating (tables & chairs). They also have a small juice bar too. I personally loved their fresh nori veggie rolls, which I bought two...one to eat at the store, and one to pack for the plane ride back to the mainland. These were freshly made, very affordable and quite filling too. One of the main reasons I wanted to go there was for dessert for later. They were out of their cheesecake at the time, but I did find some other delicious looking options to choose from that it was almost too hard for me to pick. LOL (Yes, that's my inner fat kid speaking to me). Well, I ended up deciding on the sweet potato pie with haupia. First of all, the serving size for the pie piece I got was HUGE! I mean it could have easily fed 4 people, but nope, it was just for me! I ended up taking a couple of bits everyday for about 4 days, and I the last day I shared the last bit with a friend. It did travel well back to the mainland in my cooler too (just in case anyone's thinking of bring some back with them). Staff is great, very friendly and wonderful at answering questions about items within the store. I'll be back I'm sure! I also purchased a cute tank top for here, which I love. :)

I've appreciated Dennis's help for years. Unfortunately off island during Covid, and I want to say thank you to Gabby! Over the phone she helped me get my Alive and Well favorites. Her aloha spirit and exemplary customer service almost brought me to tears. I miss Alive and Well and can't wait to come back!

Walking into this place doesn't feel overwhelming. Great place for healthy meals, food, snacks. As a guy who eats wholes foods plant base diet this is the best option to get a lunch. Prices are very competitive, they have if not good prices on a lot of their products. Food bar has some really great choices. I recommend them if you are looking for healthy stuff.

Excellent food!! After spending all of yesterday surviving on airplane food and whatever snacks I had brought with me this place had REAL food. It was much needed and a breath of fresh air. I got the trio salad and every one of the trio was fantastic. Plenty of food. The ambiance is different, obviously, as it is a grocery and supplement store. I wish they had everything on one clear menu, but regardless everything was good. I just had to search a few places before I could find out what all they had. Be patient and look on both sides of the counter and read all of the 8.5/11 menus displayed about. :)
