Laid-back outpost of a local chain known for its spuds, coleslaw, chowder & water views.
"One of the best things about this Ivar's-owned seafood shack on Alki is all of the old pictures and maps hanging on the wall showing how West Seattle looked back when the restaurant first opened in 1935. A lot has happened since then, like the second story they added (oh, and also the internet). But the very best thing about Spud? Their fried halibut, which is worth paying a few extra dollars for. The fish is super flaky and tender with a well-seasoned, crispy batter. Plus, oftentimes you’ll get absolutely massive pieces, which feels like winning the lottery, only your prize is delicious meaty halibut instead of eternal wealth. Come here for a quick lunch, or bring out-of-towners to eat seafood and look at the Seattle skyline if Marination Ma Kai is slammed." - Carlo Mantuano
