This place is amazing! The food, service, atmosphere is all perfect. There was a wide variety of food options and all of them were amazing, we especially like the quesabirrias, ACP, and seafood options. We also really like the margaritas, and cocktails. We had a birthday party there and the staff were very accommodating of our large group and requests. Everything was reasonably priced and authentic. Sports on the TV and good music.

Wow!! What a find… amazing service and such a fantastic menu… choosing is the hard part!! Went for lunch, after hearing from friends and @NCTripping. The drinks.. on my!! The mojito was the best I have ever had… fresh lime juice, mint. Servings plentiful, chips and salsa freshly made. We all loved our meals.. ate it all!

Saw this place on a TicToc & wanted to check it out since it’s local and new. Wasn’t sure if they would be open on July 4th, but so glad they were. Sometimes, even a small unknown place next to a gas station might turn out to be the gem restaurant that becomes a favorite of yours. You never know what you may find unless you venture to explore. Tonight, we start our journey to new food choices. Parking was not an issue even with people still getting their gas and going into the store. For a Friday night, they weren’t very busy, but it could be the holiday or the fact that they are still not known well. Our server was also our greeter. She was so sweet. Got our drink order (water) & brought us chips w/homemade salsa. Not sure what spices were on the chips, but it paired nicely with the salsa. I tasted a bit of lime. We also got queso. Chips came with it as well. The queso was thicker than I have had at other places, but still very good. It was made to take the chip and not break it. Our server gave us plenty of time to voice our entrees since we had no idea what to get. Finally choices made- my hunny got the Cali Burrito & I got Camarones Zarandeados , plus Carnitas Taco. I,of course needed to alter my order- no onions (I don’t like raw onions) & no cilantro. I’m telling you, once I tasted my marinated shrimp, I really didn’t want to share. That was probably one of the best marinades I have ever tasted. The house salad was simple (lettuce, tomato slices, shredded carrot, avocado slices) & I didn’t eat the rice (I did take a bite- just not on my diet plan). And the carnitas were perfect. The mayo on the side that I got with my other entree was so good on it. My hunny ate all of his meal minus one plantain which I tasted. I really need to learn to make these. I can’t even tell you how many times we were checked on to make sure our meal was ok. Even when our server left for the day, she told us bye and hoped we would come back. Now it was a bit more than we usually pay without having any leftovers. However, considering the size of my shrimp and the fact that a lot of items have had price increases, that is to be expected. We have always decided to go back again. There are other items we want to try. You really need to give this place a chance. Don’t let this gem disappear because all you see is the rough.

We ordered ours to go for Mothers Day and oh my gosh is the food delicious. We got the appetizer Steak Nachos along with ACP Trio. My fiancé got the Camarones Zarandeados. All were wonderful. I couldn’t get a picture of my fiancé food because he ate it. Will definitely be going back 😊

Al Pastor tacos rock! Chicken enchiladas Devine. Salsa to die for too. Proteins seasoned and tasty. Nice to find a place that knows how to spice dishes. We'll be back.

For Burlington locals in search of genuine Mexican fare, this restaurant is a must-visit. Among the many Mexican eateries in the area, this one shines as a true gem. The Mojarra Frita is cooked to perfection, with outstanding flavor and seasoning, paired perfectly with rice and black beans. Plus, the Pizza Birria is expertly prepared. The wings, featuring a honey habanero flavor, are particularly noteworthy, achieving a flawless balance of spiciness and sweetness . This place will be one of our top choices when craving Mexican food. We look forward to our next visit!

Fantastic experience at Alkimia! The service was phenomenal as our server and the owner were very attentive and very accommodating to my friends' vegetarian requests (they have a vegan chicken protein option). The margaritas are made with real fruit puree and are not the syrupy, sweet type. I had the pineapple, and she ordered the berry. Both were great! I ordered ACP and loved the amount of onion and peppers that were included. The portions were good for two meals as I took half home for leftovers. I also ordered the tres leche for dessert and it was the perfect amount of leche! It was a great dessert to share as well. The vibe was very welcoming and the decor was bright, colorful, and fun. We will definitely be returning and spreading the word about Alkimia!

Really fun environment and delicious food. The atmosphere is pretty and chill. I ordered a mangonada drink that was so good. It came with spices on the side and a snack on top. Combining the drink with the snack and flavors made it phenomenal. We also ordered the birria pizza, a Sunday special. It was delicious and fresh. We shared it and it was the perfect size for 2 people. 8 slices with radishes, cilantro, onions, and a sauce on top with broth for dipping. The salsa tasted fresh and home made. We also got queso that was yummy. Would recommend for any occasion and will definitely be back.
