"Australians aren’t exactly known for being subtle, so when Northcote’s All Are Welcome was tagged with the line “Posh c*nts, good bread,” they spun it to their advantage and turned it into merch. And that anonymous artist was kinda right: you’ll pay more than average for the bread and pastries here, but they’re all well worth the price. There are just a handful of seats (same goes for the second location in Thornbury up the road), and while it’s open till 2pm, the excellent fennel-spiced pork sausage rolls and inventive fruit danishes can be sold out well before then, so you’ll want to arrive early." - Ellen Fraser

What a fab way to repurpose a former High St establishment. Between two we ordered a sandwich, sausage roll, and a rhubarb and almond bostock. The sanga was fresh, sausage roll was well sized (and served with a spicy chutney 🔥), and the bostock was perfection. Minimal indoor AND outdoor seating. Prices are steep and service was lacklustre so don’t expect much. If you’re ordering coffees, they don’t have almond milk. Would go back to grab takeaway pastries.

It’s SO busy here every time I visit, but I promise you it’s worth it. The food is delicious, coffee is strong but never too bitter or burnt, and the vibes are immaculate. It’s what everyone wants from their local bakery, probably my favourite cafe in Melbourne 🥐💖

Had the Vegemite and cheese croissant the other day, damn that was delicious! Sadly though, am yet to have a good coffee. Have tried multiple times and every time the coffee is heavily burnt and I wind up discarding half of it. With service being as fast paced as it is, I am 99% sure the person on espresso duty is just going through the motions without much thought but please just ease up on the pressure. Living local is killing me to not have a good go to for coffee.

Couple of things to note: 1) An Americano does not come with milk 2) a long black does not have only one shot in a large? 3) the large is actually a medium size 4) $5.50 for the coffee I bought is a fair rip off 5) the pastries look like they might have been nice but also had odd flavours so just like this place … trying way too hard 6) I’m a local and there are plenty better places to get coffee on high street but this place is unlikely to care too much

I come here every weekend for a pain au choc and a coffee (sometimes Sat AND Sun 🤤). Best pastries I've had in Aus. Yes they're not cheap but they're huge and great quality. Love my weekend treat.

Coffee is good and the staff were alright. I got a slice of lemon basque cheese cake that was $9.90. A bit small of a slice and too subpar to warrant the price in my opinion

Terrific sandwiches! Of course coffee here is great, but big credit must also be given to their food menu.

It’s my first time there, and I am shocked by the price and weekend surcharge for a bakery. The almond croissant is $9.8+surcharge. It’s the most expensive croissant I have ever had in Australia. The pastry is good but the filling was super sour (like apple or lemon?)which ruined the idea or almond croissant as I couldn’t taste the almond croissant. Very disappointed. I would not come back anymore.
