Yelp
I never knew about this place until recently, and had the chance to stop in to pick up my Yelp award that I had won at an event earlier this year. I am familiar with the area since it's located where the old Tiger Stadium used to be and it's in Corktown which has tons of great restaurants and some shopping located here as well.
Pulling up, the building is shiny and new with a variety of shops and some limited parking available. I got there early since I wasn't sure how traffic would be with the I-75 construction going on, even on a Saturday. (it sucked as anyone would expect. I hate driving through expressway construction! LOL)
Anyway they have a little doorbell to ring for someone to let you into the shop. It's also connected to Build Detroit which I had never heard of before. The store itself isn't huge, but has an awesome collection of items from local artists and locations to choose from. Things like magnets, socks, T-shirts, lotions and a bunch of other cool stuff. The gal that helped me was super fun to talk to and answered a few questions about some items that I had questions on.
She also informed me that I can have items shipped to my home if I'm interested since it's about a 25 mile drive for me to go down to her store. She also does curbside pickup and is entirely touchless electronic with payment. I was grateful since I bought a few items while in her store to pickup my award. (I mean, it was March 13th, which is 313 day, aka Detroit's area code.)
I would gladly stop in and shop here again after restaurants open back up and the weather gets nice. Not the biggest store I've ever been to, but clean, organized, fun and has a great selection of stuff to choose from. Go check it out, I'm really glad this place is open for business!
