Fantastic sandwich! Mortadella, stracciatella, and pistachio cream. Next time I might hold the pistachio because the mortadella was so freaking good, it didn’t need a thing. Bread was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. My friend went rogue and created his own—Proscuitto, eggplant, stracciatella, and honey. Honey tasted amazing with the ricotta and the eggplant. Might create my own next time because I will definitely be back. Service was excellent. Very polite and patient!

Probably the best sandwich I’ve had in Italy! We don’t eat pork, so we got the vegan one with hummus and vegetables and the beef carpaccio one. My husband and i both enjoyed the vegan one a bit more. The line is long, so be prepared to wait for 10-15 mins. It does move fast though. The staff are not the most friendly or welcoming, but at a casual place like this I guess it’s expected. There’s no place to sit and eat, unlike the other location they have in Florence. So, keep that in mind. Overall, a decent experience!

Maybe the best focaccia sandwich I had in all of Italy. The staff was amazing. The filling was very generous. The flavours were unmatched. We tried different ones since we went multiple times but my absolute favorite was truffle mortadella with pistachio cream and stracciatella. I even added and extra buratta inside to make it extra creamy. If you are craving this sandwich you must try this place!

Being very honest and very direct, I’m giving 5 starts, it is good but is overrated. It is nothing amazing or out of this world. I tried at least 6 flavors at this point and I can for sure say that the best one is the Italian. One important thing about this location is that there is no place near to sit, you will have to eat standing. Which is ok, but for some people might make a difference…

Absolutely amazing sandwiches. Must try when in Florence. There is not much room to sit or stand to eat, but the sandwiches are so delicious that you can easily walk around the area and enjoy. Very r reasonably priced and highly recommend!

Unfortunately, I’m disappointed. I’ve had the same sandwich at another branch of this chain on the tourist street, and it was warm and fresh – just the way it should be. Today, the sandwich was cold and that really makes a huge difference in taste. It’s a shame, because I know how good it can be.

Decent, but didn’t meet my expectations. The sandwich bread was fresh and crispy, and the pistachio sauce tasted genuine, which was a nice touch. However, the rest of the ingredients weren’t particularly fresh, and the overall flavor didn’t stand out compared to other good sandwich places in Florence. The biggest disappointment was waiting in line for an hour, only to get something that looked different from what I had seen on Instagram. It’s clear that this brand has been marketed very effectively—I saw several tourists taking selfies with their sandwiches right after buying them. All in all, it wasn’t a bad experience, but it wasn’t anything special either. Next time I’m in Florence or Rome, I won’t be wasting my time standing in line for this. And if you skip it, trust me, you’re not missing much.

Gave this spot 2 chances… generous serving & focaccia was amazing, but the first sandwich - “numero 1” (potato cream, onion cream & porchetto) was a huge let down, we did not finish our sandwich. It was a texture disaster & a pile of baby mush. Second time round - “inferno” (porchetta, rocket, eggplant & spicy salsa). This was good however I had multiple sandwiches during my trip in italy that blew it out of the water. Worth also noting they have 4 shop fronts pretty much side by side, & they are all the same.

Best sandwiches in Italy...be prepared to stand in line, but well worth the wait. All sandwiches are freshly prepared, with awesome ingredients between two pieces of fresh focaccia bread. Highly Recommend!!! They're also located in Rome so you can eat in Firenze and Rome...

Best. Sandwich. Ever. And worth the hype. While this particular restaurant has Italian sandwiches you can find similarly all over the country, a few things set them apart, including the quality of the bread, meat, and sauces they use. The quantity is the perfect size, especially made for walking around town. My friend and I waited in the long line to get our sandwiches as we couldn't help but notice how many others were also waiting in line. It was definitely worth the wait and I highly recommend getting the truffle or pistachio cream on any sandwich as it is unlike anything else I have tasted!

Really good sandwiches. Super confused on what we ordered, but it was delicious! There is the actual sandwich shop on one side where you watch them make the sandwiches in front of you, and on the other side of the street are multiple kiosks where you can place your order and wait for them to call out your number when your order is ready. We were told the kiosks were faster, but honestly it seemed to go about the same pace. Would have been nice to see all of the meat and topping options in front of us so we knew what we were ordering haha. Oh and you can DEFINITELY split a sandwich, they are HUGE!

Schiacciata di Firenze We came here on the reommendation of a longtime resident of Florence who told us that this was the best sandwich in the world. I don't know about that but even on Monday there was a long queue and the sandwiches were delicious. It was a little confusing because there were 3 outlets on Via dei Neri. We chose the one with the smallest queue and ordered and paid for our sandwiches from a digital screen. The sandwiches are quite rich, large and salty, so one sandwich is probably enough for two people! You can walk around the corner to Piazza della Signoria to eat your lunch - but watch out for pickpockets!! If someone sits next to you without a sandwich or a phone watch out!!

So I gave into the social media hype and came here despite friends telling me it's good but not blow your mind good. The only thing I was dreading was the line to order but fortunately we came during an off hour and it was raining. There was still a line but it was super short so I was able to order relatively quickly. Best time to come if off hours and when the weather isn't the best if you want to avoid the crazy long line here. I had photos of what I wanted to order but apparently a lot of the sandwiches look similar so I was frantically trying to decide what I wanted. Since I didn't want to be that guy and try to Google Translate the entire menu, I just asked what's their most popular sandwich and ordered that. It turns out that it's the Favolosa. Considering how busy the staff is, they provided good customer service to everyone. They didn't take long to make it and they were kind enough to accommodate my request to cut the sandwich in half since it's huge. We also got the sandwich to go during to the weather. The sandwich came with Sbriciolana, crema di pecorino and crema di carciofi e melanzane piccanti. It was good but I wasn't impressed. Mink also thought the sandwich was just ok. Fast forward, we were leaving Florence to go to Rome and had time to kill at the station. I was hungry so I walked around Florence S.M.N. To see what they offered. Apparently there are two locations here! One on level 0 and one on level -1. The -1 had a significantly shorter line so it was a no brainer and I decided to give them another try. This time I took my time to Google Translate the menu and confirm with the cashier on what's in the sandwich. I ordered their Italiana which came with Prosciutto crudo di Parma, mozzarella di bufala and pomodoro e pesto di basilico. They also accommodated my request to cut the sandwich in half here. I personally liked this sandwich a lot more than my first sandwich. Would I eat it again? Yes, this one I would but would I wait in that crazy line? Probably not. It's best to go to the other locations that aren't as busy to try their sandwiches. Still glad I gave them a try in Florence.

Huge lines to get these sandwiches! There were two lines down the street but worth the 30 mins wait. The same two shops are right across from each other. They had a guy who stood at the entrance of each shop to stop people from cutting in line. The best sandwiches I've had in Florence. The focaccia bread was toasted and crusty. It's the bread that is the star though the fillings were generous and delicious too. It's a large sandwich so we had them cut it in half. Two sandwiches fed 4 of us.

Delicious sandwiches! The best focaccia sandwich bread around. The toppings. The choices. The crowds. The taste! So, so good. They expanded across the street to accommodate the almost ever present crowds. This place has expanded recently into NYC and LA and hopefully to Seattle soon! I chose the Tartufo 4 which contains: Cotto al Tartufo, Mozzerela Fior di Latte, Crema di Carciofi e Baslico. All for 10 Euro. Fair prices and quickly made by the masters behind the counter. The sandwich is so yummy with crispy focaccia bread, freshly sliced meats and cheeses and a wonderful spread. There are a lot of sandwich choices in Florence but All 'Antico Vinaio is by far the superior choice. There's a reason there are such crowds and happy faces around.

I had to go. I went early (0955) to avoid the line and was surprised to see they have three different stores. I stood in line with everyone else not realizing they were all open so staff came out and split us up to make the wait shorter between the different counters. The menu is large on the wall so when you wait you can decide your order. The bread was as good as everyone says and the fillings were even better. Traveler tip - if the sandwich is too big, eat half and ask for a bag for the rest. There was a little station where I could wrap my leftovers and then I had a bag to make it easier and less messy. Plus I didn't have to stuff myself or waste a delish panino!

Very hyped up sandwhich shop and the food did not disappoint! The line and lack of places to sit/eat were however. Waited in line for about 30 minutes, the pigeons were out of control due to all of the scraps and patrons. Love this restaurant just not this location.

Well worth the hype! I got the La Favolosa, which consisted of salami, pecorino cream, artichoke cream, and spicy eggplant. The line moves quickly and the sandwiches aren't too messy to eat. A great place to grab a sandwich to go and enjoy against the backdrop of the Florence scenery of your choice.

We personally felt that this spot was much more hyped than it deserved. The sandwiches were decent, but we had better ones at other places in Florence. While we did appreciate the generous portions for the price, we weren't able to finish everything.

I mean, for the culture right? One of the best sandwiches in the world so the internet says. This place means business. We got in line around 12:30, which was fairly long and it probably only took ten minutes for them to shuffle everyone through with sandwiches from their larger menu. Transparently I'm not a big sandwich gal so for me it was a LOT. But the bread was unbelievable and for $10 and a sandwich to feed two, I'll take it. I had one with mortadella, a pistachio cream type spread and sun-dried tomatoes. I don't think I need to go back but this bad Larry fueled my wine tour later in the day and I only ate about half. Cool spot, why not, for sandwich people probably the dream.

OH MY GOSH. Life changing sandwich. It was such a vibe inside as well with the workers listening to music and having fun making the sandwiches. Super popular so there is a line but it's worth it and it goes pretty fast!

So fun and delicious! A must visit in Florence. The ambience while you are eating your sandwich outside the restaurant is iconic. It is worth the wait!

One of our bookmarked stops while visiting Florence, All'Antico Vinaio lived up to all of the hype for us that was centered around this small sandwich spot. We came close to their opening time and a modest line had already started to develop. Staff were friendly and extremely efficient. They are well-trained to handle the high demand smoothly and patiently, especially with all of the tourists lining up to come to their shop. They have a good selection with menus in several places (and online) written in both Italian and English. Pricing for the sandwiches was extremely fair, the size of the sandwiches was generous, and the craftsmanship as well as fillings were perfect. Definitely a memorable visit while in Florence. We ordered a total of four sandwiches: - Numero 5 - DOP - La Paradiso (x2) Hands down, the La Paradiso stole the show. The pistachio spread was so unique and added a great flavor to the sandwich overall. Everyone in our group who didn't order the La Paradiso instantly regretted it upon taking a bite of our sandwich. I would highly recommend trying that one out if you're making the trip (and waiting in line) for All'Antico Vinaio. We would definitely return to All'Antico Vinaio the next time we are in Italy. Aside from the tastiness and good quality, the sandwiches are great for taking on the go if you have a schedule to maintain on your visit. They will also fill you up at a very reasonable cost.

I found out about All Antico a while back. It was after my first trip to Florence, so I added it to my bookmarks list in case I ever made a return trip. Fast forward a few years later to when they opened a location in NYC. I tried it and really liked it. It was pricey though, at 3x the price. So I made a mental note that if I ever go back to Florence, I need to try the original. Fast forward again about a year later, 2024. The time has come for that return trip to Florence, and All' Antico was our first stop. We came by for a late lunch on a Wednesday just after 1:30. The line was about 15-20 people deep. We waited for 20 minutes + another 10 minutes to actually order, pay, and get our food. I opted for a cooked meat, one of the downsides of pregnancy (though I did sneak a few bites of hubby's sandwich). I had the La Numero 1 (Roast suckling pig, cream of onion and roast-potato cream) and he had the April special of the month. It had prosciutto, rocket, eggplant, and truffle cream. I actually liked mine better. The suckling pig was very tender and flavorful. Though the cream did get a bit heavy about halfway through. While the prosciutto was amazing, the only thing I didn't like was the eggplant. The skin on the eggplant was chewy, which made it hard to take bites of. The sandwiches were great overall, but I don't think I would wait anything more than half hour for them. If I ever make a third trip to Florence, I would probably try to come when it opens and if I can't, I would probably skip it all together, since there are so many other panini spots in Florence to try.

Easily the most hyped sandwich shop EVER. One of those places where you have to stop by, taste for yourself, or the FOMO will kill you. Guaranteed that you will wait in line, but on the plus side, they have 3 shops, so it moves rather quickly and they route traffic as needed. As for the sandwhich... don't kill me... but it was good, but not really special. I haven't thought about it again after eating it. They offer a very vast menu. I got the "Le Paradiso", the ingredients independently were fresh & tasted good, but just felt like it was missing something. Perhaps I should have asked for add ons? I am one of those people who like it as is, & that should be enough really. Seating is limited inside, but there's a lot of places to sit on near by that offer a view.

The sandwich experience of a lifetime. This place is SUPER popular and they have four storefronts located in the same spot to handle the crowds. The lines looked intimidating, but things moved fast. You might think this place is just a tourist trap, but the sandwiches are lights out amazing. The bread is PERFECT and I'm pretty sure anything you get will be amazing. They have locations in other cities in Italy (we saw the one in Rome) and I believe they may have also opened a few in the US (I know there's one in NYC). If I ever end up near one in the states, I'm going to make sure I go.

Go to recommendations for this place from a friend on a trip to Italy and I'm so glad this happened! There was a long line, but we knew we had to wait because of how many reviews this place had and the fact that we saw so many people walking past with panini in their hand from this place. I really love how you can customize and build your own! Bread was very dependent on the panino you get. Some of them was soft and chewy but others were a bit too crispy. Even size was very dependent (mine was fairly smaller than my husband's). Quite a lot of meat in there too which was nice. Overall great food! I got Prosciutto+Mozzarella+Onion Spread+Rocket Leaves This was absolutely delicious! That onions spread was next level amazing! It had such a unique flavor and really brought everything in the sandwich together. Mozzarella was also very fresh. L'italiana (Prosciutto di Parma, mozzarella di bufala, tomato and Basil): husband got this. The combination was nice but the prosciutto itself was quite fatty. The last bits didn't have much cheese to balance it out and I realized that the prosciutto was also quite salty on its own. Tartufo 2 (Prosciutto with truffle, pecorino cream, spicy aubergines) + sun-dried tomatoes: dad and brother both got the same one and they really liked it. Dad doesn't usually eat as a big portion sizes but he actually finished his whole thing! Sun dried tomatoes were a good addition. Only thing is their bread was too crispy. Tartufo 3 (Truffle salami, pecorino cheese and honey) + Nduja spicy pork sausage spread: Sister had this and said it was good as well. Her bread was really soft!

The wife read about this place and wanted to try it out. We went there early, (around 11am), because we heard the place gets packed. Even at 11am there was a short line. The workers there know how to get people in and out fast. The sandwiches we got were good but I wouldn't say amazing. We ate our food and by the time we left, the line was down the block. You definitely need to get to this place early if you don't want to be in line forever.

This place should be famous! I ordered the Tricolore sandwich; the bread was incredible, the meat and pistacchio cream was amazing and the sandwich was huge. I felt like I was eating it for a half hour. A fantastic deal for €11. I came on a Tuesday at 11:30 AM during the end of May and luckily the line was only about 20 minutes. I almost came here again the next day to try another sandwich, but I had other great food in Rome.

This review is actually for the All'Antico Vinaio at Via Ricasoli, 121r, 50121 Firenze FI, since I could not find a Yelp page for that particular location. Over the years, All'Antico Vinaio has become a bit of a divisive topic in terms of the quality of their sandwiches. One can't help but feel that their success (with locations now open in NYC, Las Vegas, and Venice....California, among others) has caused a bit of a backlash among the Italian sandwich cognoscenti. Some reviews and remarks have even gone so far as to deride them as the "Subway of Italian sandwich shops." I can only go by my own visit at this particular location, but my experience was superb. After spending less than 5 minutes in a fairly long but briskly moving queue, I opted for "The Boss" as my sandwich, consisting of Prosciutto crudo, semi-aged pecorino, truffle cream, and arugula. Very informal walk up atmosphere, beverages on hand to accompany your food, wise cracking, hardworking, friendly staff. My sandwich was a very large portion, on excellently prepared focaccia bread...chewy with a slight crunch, seasoned lightly with salt, and just a hint of olive oil, and pecorino. The arugula was fresh and the prosciutto was lovely...not too salty, trimmed and cut lean with just the right ratio of fat. I loved the sandwich so much that I returned for a followup visit a few days later, which was every bit as good. My expectations were met and then some.

One of my kids is taking Italian in high school and his 'insegnante' highly recommended this place. Just down the block from 'David' (he/it is worth the hype, if you get the chance) - there was always a line jutting from this little corner shop but the crew behind the counter were beasts somehow staying afloat and knocking out the barrage of sandwiches at an unreal pace. Over 400+ days of Duolingo didn't help when looking at the back wall at the menu and when we inched pretty close to the counter we saw a QR code for the English menu but being stubborn I opted for "the Dante" (hey, Italy's greatest writer - the sandwich should be memorable, too) while the rest of the family all got different items. (None of ended up being fans, unfortunately.) The cured meats were kind of weird to my tastebuds. (Trust me - I've eaten a ridiculous amount of sandwiches over the decades back in the states, but I guess pepperoni and Genoa salami are kid's stuff compared to what they're slinging here.) The cheese was... different, but fine. There was this spread/tapenade that was a bit too 'off' and seemed to clash with everything else, instead of complimenting it. And some 'rocket' (arugula) that's always welcome in my book. The bread was outstanding - the MVP for the sandwich. The size (for the price) - legit. Water, soft drinks and beers available. Take-out only (with a 'parco' just up the road to find a seat while those spoiled pigeons constantly keep coming up looking for a nibble). Now does my kid go back to school and pretend he enjoyed the sandwich so she doesn't give him a bad grade?!

One of the top Italian sandwiches we had in Italy. We also later found out they operate in the US as well. They are very busy and lines are long. Once you walk in you place your order at the counter and you can see them cut the meat and build the sandwich. All the sauces, delis, and other toppings are on display. Was able to get there early and had to wait 20-30 minutes. There is no tables but you can see other people eat the sandwich through the street. We got the Roast suckling pig but it was dry. It came with pistachio cream. It was our favorite sauce and it carried the sandwich. It is worth a try but would not wait long for the sandwich.

I was so excited for this sandwich and I was surprised to be disappointed. The prosciutto meat on the sandwich was too fatty for me and the sauce was overdone and made me slow down eating it. The bread was also so toasted that the top of my mouth was getting wrecked. Maybe it was because I was at the train station location, but I'm not sure. I tried so hard to like it but it was too much. I had the Tommy and wouldn't get it again.

There were so many recommendations for this place, and they absolutely lived up to the buzz. Now, be forewarned: there might be a wait. The place seems incredibly popular, and seating is limited. However, trust me, the wait is absolutely worth it. We were starving after all that walking, and as soon as we saw the delicious sandwiches people were carrying, we knew we had to try it. While there's not a lot of indoor seating, you can grab your sandwich and enjoy it outside. We decided to sample a variety of options, and everything we tasted was fantastic! Here are our top picks:La Beatrice,Vegetarian 3,4 ,San Marco,Dante. Seriously, you can't go wrong with any of these choices! This is a fantastic spot for a quick and delicious bite, and we highly recommend checking it out Tip: Their House wine is very good :)

We got lucky and lined up for 10 minutes for our sandwich. It was so highly reviewed and after seeing so many locals eating their sandwiches everywhere on the streets nearby, we had to try it out. The sandwich was GIGANTIC. I could barely finish half of mine, so I highly recommend splitting it with someone. The meat and cheese were super fresh and so were the bread. My husband and I both enjoyed it, but it did not stand out as a sandwich that we would come back for again. Maybe it was an off day, but it was an A-OK, solid 3/5 for me. Don't come for me, people. Maybe the dude forgot my sauce. I dunno.

There are multiple locations throughout Italy. While in Florence we chose to order at a kiosk. I did have to look up all the ingredients that are listed in Italian. Even when there is a line, it goes quickly. One location had limited seating inside. You will see people sitting on the street eating their scrumptious sandwiches. Helpful hint: ask them to cut the sandwich before they prepare it

Why 4 stars? Because I completely understand the appeal. --- --- --- If we had more time in Florence, we would have made this an entire meal. Looking at the menu, I pretty much love everything on it. I love sandwiches in general, but the only downside is that sometimes there can be too much bread. Here, the bread is a thin focaccia. Sometimes sandwiches can be a bit dry. But here, they generously *slather* on plenty of spread. It really is the best possible scenario in terms of sandwich-making. The only problem is that we had already eaten lunch and just wanted to try one of these more as a snack. So it's probably my fault that this review is not 5-stars, as everything just tastes a little less appealing when you're already full. My initial reaction was that it was tasty, but I was expecting a little more considering the reviews, the hype and the line. When we were in line (FYI, there was a line every time we walked past this place, no matter what time it was, but it moved fast) someone was leaving and took his first bite of his order and acted like he'd just eaten the greatest food that had ever been made. We asked him which one it was, he said Number 4, and that is how we decided what to order. Before that, we were heavily debating what to order because everything looked awesome. If you're excited about coming here, don't be like us and do it for a meal, not a snack. Why 4 stars?

So, I wasn't going to review All'Antico Vinaio because I keep hearing how touristy this chain is and there are YouTube Vloggers advising visitors to go to lesser known sandwich shops because these sandwiches are expensive, overrated and the wait is ridiculous. I'm here to tell you, all the hype is warranted! We tried several places and this was our favorite Sandwich. The Schiacciata bread was fresh out of the oven and that pistachio Crema definitely made the sandwich something special. I ordered Mortadella, stracciatella cheese with pistachio Crema. The sandwich was a little pricy at 7 euros a piece but it's very large and definitely sharable. It doesn't surprise me that there are two locations next door to each other and one directly across the street. We waited about 15 minutes and felt it was worth it. Don't wait in line at the original location, all of the sandwiches are the same, choose the shortest line and enjoy your delicious sandwich!

Omg these sandwiches were sooo good. They definitely lived up to the hype for me. Luckily the line wasnt too long when we got there so the wait was maybe around 15 minutes. The ambiance felt quite hectic inside, everyone had their own roles to play which helped move the line faster. The bread was fresh, crispy and soft. We ordered the la paradiso and I think the second one was the numero 1. The pistachio cream they used was unique and delicious. Ugh so yummy. And these sandwiches were pretty big too. I'm so happy they opened up a location in LA cause I def want to try them again! I just hope it's as good as the Florence one.

Great panini- glad I got to try this place. Super quick service too which I really appreciated considering lines being so long. Not much to the ambience tbh- casual cafe style joint and lots of people just order the sandwich to go so they eat while they walk down the street.

There was a long line when we got there, though that's to be expected. The wait was worth it. The sandwiches were sooo good! So fresh & delicious! The staff working there was so nice and very accommodating. Great atmosphere. Also here's a tip: try to leave room in front of other businesses. Be aware the neighboring businesses don't like people standing in front of their businesses blocking doorways so please leave room. Anyways I would definitely eat here again!

This was recommended to me by several people, and it did not disappoint! I really enjoyed the TARTUFO 3: Truffle salami, pecorino cheese, honey. I had a bite of my friend's sandwich (which had pork) and it was also delicious. This is definitely worth a stop! It is so good that they have 3 locations right in the same block. Overall, I would highly recommend! I am a pretty big eater and I was able to make this into two meals.

Their schiacciata with truffle mushroom, mortadella, arugula and stracchino is the best thing I have ever tasted. The line is long but SO WORTH IT if you are in Florence for the day. It goes by pretty fast, just make sure you know your order beforehand! 5/5

The BEST sandwiches in Florence! Now, I'm not sure if you heard about this spot from a friend, Tik Tok or if you just passed by it today... saw the line... and are looking it up. Either way, GO! With three locations now, there will still be a wait out the door. WAIT. It only takes about 15 minutes to get through and will be well worth the wait. There are about 20 different types of sandwiches: meaty ones, veggie ones and customizable ones. They are all on fresh focaccia bread and gigantic! Double handers, for sure. It'll be very hard to decide what one to order but any of these sandwiches will rock your world. THE FABULOUS = creamy n' rich! tuscan salami, pecorino cream, artichoke cream, spicy eggplant THE HELL = spicy! porchetta, nduja cream, grilled vegetables, arugula My advice... GO! WAIT! AND GRAB ONE OF THESE SLINGING SANDWICHES!!

When in Florence, do as the tourists do. All'Antico is known for their paninos, long lines, and multiple locations all on one street. You'll know you're getting close when you start to see people walking around with massive sandwiches in hand. The line was long but moved surprisingly fast. Know what you want by the time you get up there - the intense man behind the counter will waste no time watching you make up your mind. I decided on a panino with mortadella, pesto, and sundried tomatoes. The first few bites were heavenly. The bread was nice and crispy yet fluffy at the same time. However, the more I got through the sandwich, the saltier it got. Like almost unbearably salty. The ingredients weren't distributed around very evenly so one bite would be a mouthful of sundried tomatoes and the next bite would be way too much pesto. Obviously, the folks making these paninos make hundreds a day and are rushing to go as fast as possible to keep up with the lines. I think I could taste that in my panino. Or, maybe I just picked something from the menu I wasn't a huge fan of and should've gotten something else? I'm not sure. Go if you're down for the adventure but also know you're probably not missing out if you choose a smaller, more laidback lunch option in Florence.

When we arrived the line appeared to be so long - DEFINITELY WAIT!!! Do not be turned off by the line, we literally had our sandwiches within 15 minutes, the line moves so fast. We got the Favolosa and El Paradiso - they were legitimately the best sandwiches we've ever had. You need to come here if you are in Florence. Not to mention, both sandwiches were massive and only cost €19 total!!

Absolutely delicious and lived up to the hype. Even though commercialized, quick service, etc...it was still very yummy. All 3 of us loved our options.

Just another tourist trap in Florence. I can make a better panini at home. Not worth the wait, or your time and money. The bread was hard and the filling flavorless. Go to a local panini place instead - one with few tourists.

Expanding akin to any other Social Media savvy brand it is under the leadership of Tommaso Mazzanti that All'Antico Vinaio has grown outside of Florence, where three shops have been drawing crowds of locals and tourists since the early 90s. "Home of the world's best Sandwiches" per Saveur, and now with three New York locations plus one in SoCal and Las Vegas, guests visiting the original location can expect a brief queue to taste housemade Schiacciata wrapped around Italian ingredients at half the price one pays stateside. Impossible to miss thanks to Tommaso's embrace of everything from tripadvisor to TikTok guests will find several signatures plus seasonal specials and Wine poured at the register, both Inferno and Bada Come La Fuma under €10 but large enough to provide a filling meal for one.

This place is known as probably the most popular sandwich, place in all of Italy, Europe, or even the world. There are so many different sandwiches with all different types of flavors in ingredients that anyone who's been to Florence will want to come here or has been here. I've been recommended to come to this place by so many different people and I've only seen lines outside the door and they have so many locations open also. That's how you know that it's so good. I don't remember what type of sandwich I got, but just take a look at their top order the sandwich menu and you can choose any of those, and you won't be disappointed The bread is so crispy on the outside, yet so soft on the inside. The ingredients are so fresh and full of flavor to. I would highly recommend this sandwich place to anybody who visits just as how anybody has recommended me to visit this place to.

While in Italy, I had to eat at the #1 sandwich shop in Florence, All'antico Vinaio, to see if it was worth the hype...it was! The food was so fresh we had to wait for the bread to bake. There are 2 shops across from each other. One offers a walk up Kiosk to place your order to bypass the line. The other location has counter service and tables to dine inside. Very quaint and friendly employees. Would definitely recommend you try it. You won't be disappointed.

The famous foccacio bread sandwich shop seen on instagram and youtube Pros - fast service even though they have a long line. Wide variety of sandwiches and the bread is crispy and flavorful. My favorite was the truffle. Hearty sandwich that will keep you full. Cons - none Classic place to check out in Florence. There are also many local sandwich stores around that produce sandwiches just as good. But the low price and fast service and easy location make it an easy visit.

After seeing this place so hyped up on social media and word of mouth, we were so excited to try this sandwich spot in Florence. I'm not sure if we ordered wrong, but me and my 2 friends did not like our sandwiches at all. The paradiso was incredibly rich and unbalanced - the pistachio spread was way too much, and it desperately needed something fresh. The bread was too crunchy and didn't have a soft interior as I'd expect. At least you get a huge portion for about €8. I would recommend ordering something without the pistachio spread.

We came here after hearing about this place on social media and others who ranted and raved about their sandwiches. Needless to say, we were underwhelmed, there's a lot of bread and very little meat. It was our first stop in Italy. We learned these are typical Italian sandwiches. ( we prefer more meat than bread, but that's just our personal preference. The place had a line but moved very quickly , they were very efficient and took our orders quickly. The shop is small but clean. It's a take your food and find a curb or place to stand and eat. It's worth a try , it wasn't a good fit for us but I think we are in the minority!!

Definitely do it! Stand in line and get your delicious sandwich! Honestly the line moves very fast. Don't get discouraged and leave. It's so worth the experience. I ordered La Paradiso made with Mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio cream, and sprinkled with crushed pistachio served on a delicious soft baked bread. I totally recommend this place. Great sandwiches at a very good price.
