A classic schiacciata sandwich that instantly transported me back to Piazza San Marco in Florence years ago. This time I ordered the Giotto, which is deceptively simple, yet bursting with flavor. The schiacciata has a thin, crisp crust and a soft, moist interior, with just the right touch of salt. Contrary to some reviews, the bread isn’t hard at all, though it’s definitely best enjoyed fresh, as it does firm up after a few hours. The prosciutto crudo and buffalo mozzarella are good quality, generous, perfectly balanced, and beautifully in sync. One thing to note, the sandwich cannot be customised, so no extra meat or cheese. Yes, the service is slow, and the queue is long at the moment, but I still enjoyed every bite of my sandwich. I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!
