25 New & Exciting Restaurant Openings To Look Forward To In 2023 - The Infatuation

"This famous Florence spot is known for their giant Italian sandwiches and crisp, fluffy schiacciata, and while they already have a shop in New York City, the west coast will get its first permanent location in Los Angeles following multiple sold-out pop-ups. Expect piles of prosciutto and mortadella layered with creamy spreads, and, if the Florence and NYC locations are any indication, long lines." - anne cruz

Stopped on a rainy Saturday evening while the BF was shopping next door. I got a paradiso, that's it. It's genuinely really delicious. Sure I've never been to the one in Italy, but I bake focaccia, I eat pistachios, I love cold cuts like mortadella and prosciutto and have had amazing version of all of them separately. The sandwich I got for just under twenty bucks contained delicious versions of all of them. Good ratios, creamy stracciatelle, crunchy pistachio bits, and what I feel like is a good pile of meat on warm and crunchy bread. It felt worth the money, and if I was near it I'd probably get it again.

Google
Their sandwiches are high-quality, but they serve you a very large size cut in half, but then they limit the ingredients to where the sandwich is mostly bread more than anything else. I would rather order a sandwich half the size which would be enough to be filling, but then doubling up the meat and other ingredients. The bottled lemon iced tea imported from Italy tasted very artificial so I was very disappointed. I also think they should offer gourmet chips similar to the ones sold at the French gourmet market at the Original Farmers Market.

Florence has made its way to the Grove! Stopped by on a Monday night to try one of their famous focaccia sandwiches. Service was great & ambiance is casual as it’s located inside the farmers market. Got the Broadway & it was delicious. So much flavor. Definitely will be back to try a sandwich with their pistachio cream, cheers!

Google
Got the Paradiso sandwich, which is tasty, the recommended one (with mortadella and pistachio cream), and great bang-for-buck given the size. The combo works really well together, though, I wish the focaccia bread itself were more fresh - and perhaps even a little warm, which would unlock this even more. Could totally be a timing thing though (as we ordered this as a take-away early lunch).

Google
I have to honestly say, this was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Let’s start with the bread - focaccia bread - light, crispy on the outside and chewy in the inside. I ordered the LA Fade away with arugula, sundried tomatoes, roasted eggplant with a creamy Gorgonzola sauce. So good! I was happy to see a vegetarian sandwich on their menu. Generous portions, so come hungry!

Google
Nice and attentive staff but nothing even close to the original Florence location taste. Super bland and not quite sure how you can put together so many seemingly tasty ingredients and get the end result here. Skip this and go check out the better spot up the street.

Google
First time trying this place. Took the recommendation of the staff to get the most popular sandwich ( i forgot the name but it’s the one with the pistachio ). Bread was great and the everything tasted of quality. The sandwich itself desperately needs something acidic to break it up. Every single bite of the sandwich tastes the same. And while good, by the time I was halfway done I was a little bored.

Google
The staff was not very helpful, didn't not seem to want to be there unless the girl was just extremely shy but maybe the service industry is not for her then. The sandwich did not have enough seasoning and flavor. Not as memorable as the Florentine shop.

Yelp
Located where longstanding Bryan's BBQ Pitt used to occupy is All' Antico Vanaio, a sandwich shop serving amazing Italian sandwiches using Schiacciata, a thinner, less dense version of the focaccia bread. These sandwiches are HUGE. I tried to show the size by taking a pic of my 32 ounce water bottle in the background for comparison. This sandwich is easily shared with two people. The ingredients used to make the sandwich were fresh and of high quality. I am loving the sandwich I ordered La Paradiso. It was my first time eating a sandwich with pistachio cream and it will not be the last! I will be back to try the rest of the menu but for now, i am giving them a strong four for the first visit.

Yelp
The legendary sandwich shop from Florence is finally here! All'Antico Vinaio is a sandwich shop from Florence Italy that went viral in the last few years and has since expanded internationally, including LA, Vegas, and NY. This is their latest LA location in Fairfax. This location is small with limited seating so it can get pretty hectic. That being said, the staff seems pretty efficient and gets things moving quickly. Whether you want to get a sandwich with crushed pistachio cream or truffle honey, they have something for everyone! Their Italian cold cuts in each one are delicious. The sandwiches are amazing and the bread is nice and flaky but a few things are just not the same. First, the bread just doesn't seem to have the same consistency and freshness as Florence. Second, they aren't nearly as generous with the amount of meat and ingredients you get inside. Third, and related to the first two, is that despite getting a lesser experience you are paying a premium price! The combination of these, coupled with the fact of how good the original is, means I can't really give them more than 4 stars. Overall, if you are craving an Italian sandwich and just want a quick bite, you won't be disappointed. But if you are coming to relive your experience from Florence, you'll find something missing.

Yelp
New location had efficient service and was delicious. I got the LA Summer which was prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato, and basil on focaccia. It was simple and the ingredients really shined. My husband got a sandwich with porchetta, Gorgonzola, and pistachio cream - the meat was good and the cheese was the most prominent flavor. One sandwich is good for sharing since they are so big or else be prepared to have leftovers! Seating is avail in the Farmers Market. All' Antico Vinaio also offers 90 mins validation for the Farmers Market parking lot.

Yelp
Wow I love how soft, fluffy, and fresh the focaccia was and the combination of truffle cream with pecorino and prosciutto was really unmatched. The bread is a little bit greasy but it also has a slight crisp. One of my favorite sandwiches. Everything tasted really high quality and a single sandwich is HUGE and enough to fill up two people when splitting. If you come during lunch time, it might get busy but the line moves pretty fast and there is ample seating in the market.

Yelp
Great spot for delicious sandwiches, located at the farmer's market at The Grove. I first tried these sandwiches in Italy and in their first LA location on Abbot Kinney in Venice. This location is a bit more hectic, being inside of the 3rd street Farmer's Market, with 100s of people walking by, all cluttered in one place. The service too, was a little slow and not too many smiles there. Other than that, the experience was good. My The Favolosa sandwich with freshly sliced salami and pecorino and artichoke creams, was absolutely delicious. The bread is freshly baked, light, delicious and just out of this world. All in all, a great sandwich, but my top one there is probably La Paradiso, with imported mortadella and the cheese creams they use in it, are much creamier and each bite is more absorbed in those cheeses. But to summarize, both, The Favolosa with salami and La Paradiso with mortadella, are absolute winners. Will come to this spot again!

Yelp
For a place that just opened and is still training staff, this place is excellent! This was my first experience with All'Antico Vinaio. The focaccia bread was warm -- they briefly bake it before making your sandwich. My prosciutto was sliced on demand. Ingredients were fresh and a dash of salt and olive oil made it perfectly balanced. They assemble the sandwich in front of you so you can see for yourself how clean everything is kept. It's a very filling sandwich and can be shared easily but you will probably want to eat it all on your own. I'm excited to try the other sandwiches. It's a wonderful addition to the Farmers Market. The only meh part was the sparkling water -- plastic bottle sparkling was flat. It's best kept in glass.

Yelp
First time here and the reviews steered me here. The food was very nice, but very pricey for what you receive. Not a great value.

Greg S.

Yelp
Fantastic sandwiches and a perfect fit for the farmer's market. Everything is on thin-sliced focaccia bread with Italian meats or veggies and creamy cheeses. Sandwiches are big enough to share if you're not super hungry. 10/10

Yelp
the bread was meh & they didn't know the different between prosciutto and porchetta (I ordered porchetta). I go to the market often so I'll try them again but they shouldn't work there if they don't know the difference in various cured meats. I will say I've seen someone order and it looked good. Maybe they were just having an off day? But it was really annoying to pay $20 for a sandwich and get the wrong meat.

Yelp
Literally the best sandwiches ever! Packed with flavor, generous portions and amazing staff that work super hard. Love coming here!

Yelp
Sandwich: 4 out of 5 stars : simple, flavorful, even portions of focaccia to mortadella, the pistachio spread was delish and brought the whole sandwich together, the focaccia had a nice crunch to it but a soft chewy texture overall. Would order again. Service: 2 out of 5 stars: the "order" counter and the "pay" counter causes confusion with the customers and the staff aren't in sync whatsoever with zero communication to assist with the flow of order to pick up. My husband ordered our sandwich, took a step back, walked directly to the "pay" counter and the gentleman at the register asks the gentleman making preparing the sandwich next to him which sandwich he made so he could further ring us up. The gentleman preparing the sandwich had no clue what sandwich he just made and the gentleman at the register has to unfold and open the wrapper around the sandwich to visually distinguish what sandwich to ring us up for. Overall just poorly executed. Granted they just opened this location, I think there's some room for training to assist with the flow of operations.

Yelp
F for service. Shoulda walked away but really wanted to try sandwich (which was fine, a little sweet, but the layout and experience ruined it for me. Walked up to the storefront where there's two signs - 'Order Here' and 'Pay Here'. I'm standing in front of 'Order Here', there's a meat slicer operated by a linebacker not looking at me as I'm waiting. No acknowledgement, no greeting, just 3 people wishing I wasn't there. When I finally tried to be assertive, I went to the 'pay here' sign and tried to order. The clerk shot me down and total me to wait at the 'Order Here' sign. So... back to the 'Order Here' sign I wait. More awkward stairs and I say, 'Do I order from you?', linebacker scowls to order with middle guy who barely notices me. Finally place the order, sorry to annoy you with my attempts to buy food, and eventually get the sandwich. It's a small operation, meaning everyone should be pulling their wait, and these people just made me feel like garbage. Definitely exploring somewhere else, next time.

Yelp
First time ever getting a sandwich from here... Um, don't know what to say. I had ordered the Broadway, and instead of zucchini, it was eggplant in the sandwich. The eggplant wasn't great, and I was bummed because the menu description didn't match what I got.

Papo I.

Yelp
My favorite was the LA PARADISO Mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio cream, pistachio Amazing! Delicious! Tasty! Will come again to try other sandwiches!

Julie H.

Yelp
Meh! I heard so much about this place and finally went last week. The service was nothing, definitely not tip worthy. But the sandwiches ... I don't know what all the fuss is about! Yes, the focaccia bread is thick but the filling is minimal. The meat is like translucent tissue paper and there is not much of it. The sun-dried tomatoes were tasty, the arugula was limp and the whole sandwich tasted mainly of bread, not of the meat or the pecorino cream. Perhaps because we went at night the sandwiches weren't as good as I expected, but it was quite a disappointing experience. For the money I'd prefer to get a deli sandwich because it has more meat.

Yelp
I love this sandwich spot and am incredibly happy they opened on in the grove...but this one wasn't as wonderful as the one in NY. I am a vegetarian so it's slim pickings on ghd menu so I had a La Broadway sandwich this time instead of my usual caprese. The pistachio cream is delightful!!! Will be coming back...hope they add more stracciatella

Yelp
All'Antico at the Farmers Market is officially our new obsession! Erin Coscarelli and I stopped by and were blown away by the La Paradiso sandwich every bite was perfection. The ingredients are insanely fresh, the bread is out of this world, and the flavors are next level. The whole vibe is authentic, vibrant, and exactly what LA needed. If you're a sandwich lover, this is a must. Huge shoutout to the All'Antico team, what an incredible addition to the city!

Colen S.

Yelp
Went to the farmers mkt location. Wanted to love it and was excited to come as just came back from spending 3mo in Italy. The bread is not crisp on the outside, which is the thing that I was most looking forward to. The inside got soggy really fast and the filling is no where near as much as they serve in Italy (had a turkey meat sandwich. The turkey was really tasty). There was more soft bread to chew through than there was actual filling. Chill since 93 has a better crisp bread sandwich than All'Antico. Such a shame, maybe other locations in LA are better..

Yelp
The MOST delicious subs that get you a tiny taste of Rome (although nothing can compare!). Bread is and love the mortadella.

A K.

Yelp
Maybe All'antico shouldn't have expanded from Italy. I got the Favolosa, which is the sandwich that made them famous, and it was just a heavy slop of bland, grainy artichoke and pecorino cream and a nearly invisible layer of meat. The spicy eggplant had 0 spice and was ice cold. The only thing decent was the focaccia itself which I would have gladly scraped all the ingredients off and just eaten that.

G. M.

Yelp
Sandwiches are pricey and not worth the cost, especially when they're all bread and bone dry - barely any filling or condiments. Next time you're in Farmers Market, try Phil's Deli, Magee's or Du-par's instead, or better yet order a sandwich at Larchmont Wine & Cheese. Sadly, these sandwiches do not live up to the hype.

Sophie T.

Yelp
We'd just come back from Italy and craved good panini. Found this spot and loved it. The meats were authentic and the truffle cream is to die for. Our only negative comment is that we wished the panini were stuffed with more meats and veggies.

Ann T.

Yelp
It's seldom that I get a meal that I consider inedible, but the LA District sandwich I got here today was just that. The pancetta was dry, stringy and tough, and the other "fillings" consisted mostly of a huge pile of arugula on what turns out to be soggy focaccia. When I went back to the stand to complain, the workers seemed unconcerned, and in fact disdainful, about my displeasure. I was offered neither an adjustment nor an apology, but simply told I would have to throw the sandwich away myself, as "we don't take back food." Needless to say, I won't go back.

Shannon F.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Service impeccable sandwich amazing Highly recommend and will definitely become a regular
