25 New & Exciting Restaurant Openings To Look Forward To In 2023 - The Infatuation

"This famous Florence spot is known for their giant Italian sandwiches and crisp, fluffy schiacciata, and while they already have a shop in New York City, the west coast will get its first permanent location in Los Angeles following multiple sold-out pop-ups. Expect piles of prosciutto and mortadella layered with creamy spreads, and, if the Florence and NYC locations are any indication, long lines." - anne cruz

Google
I have eaten at this restaurant three times. I love it. I have only ordered one sandwich, La Paradiso. Which is a mortadella sandwich with stracciatella cheese, pistachio cream, and pistachios. I have dreams about this sandwich. I took my dad to try it, and now he wants me to learn how to make it. I cant recommend this place enough.

Google
Stopped on a rainy Saturday evening while the BF was shopping next door. I got a paradiso, that's it. It's genuinely really delicious. Sure I've never been to the one in Italy, but I bake focaccia, I eat pistachios, I love cold cuts like mortadella and prosciutto and have had amazing version of all of them separately. The sandwich I got for just under twenty bucks contained delicious versions of all of them. Good ratios, creamy stracciatelle, crunchy pistachio bits, and what I feel like is a good pile of meat on warm and crunchy bread. It felt worth the money, and if I was near it I'd probably get it again.

Google
Their sandwiches are high-quality, but they serve you a very large size cut in half, but then they limit the ingredients to where the sandwich is mostly bread more than anything else. I would rather order a sandwich half the size which would be enough to be filling, but then doubling up the meat and other ingredients. The bottled lemon iced tea imported from Italy tasted very artificial so I was very disappointed. I also think they should offer gourmet chips similar to the ones sold at the French gourmet market at the Original Farmers Market.

Google
What a great surprise to see this popular Italian chain in LA! We ordered the New Yorker. The roasted beef is very juicy, tasted as good as what we had in Italy.

Google
Florence has made its way to the Grove! Stopped by on a Monday night to try one of their famous focaccia sandwiches. Service was great & ambiance is casual as it’s located inside the farmers market. Got the Broadway & it was delicious. So much flavor. Definitely will be back to try a sandwich with their pistachio cream, cheers!

Google
Got the Paradiso sandwich, which is tasty, the recommended one (with mortadella and pistachio cream), and great bang-for-buck given the size. The combo works really well together, though, I wish the focaccia bread itself were more fresh - and perhaps even a little warm, which would unlock this even more. Could totally be a timing thing though (as we ordered this as a take-away early lunch).

Google
I have to honestly say, this was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Let’s start with the bread - focaccia bread - light, crispy on the outside and chewy in the inside. I ordered the LA Fade away with arugula, sundried tomatoes, roasted eggplant with a creamy Gorgonzola sauce. So good! I was happy to see a vegetarian sandwich on their menu. Generous portions, so come hungry!

Google
First time trying this place. Took the recommendation of the staff to get the most popular sandwich ( i forgot the name but it’s the one with the pistachio ). Bread was great and the everything tasted of quality. The sandwich itself desperately needs something acidic to break it up. Every single bite of the sandwich tastes the same. And while good, by the time I was halfway done I was a little bored.

Yelp
Service is quick and the food is really fresh. I got the LA Summer and LA Paradiso sandwiches, and both were so good, the flavors come together perfectly. The schiacciata was fresh, warm, and perfectly crispy, which made the sandwiches even better. It's located in the farmers market, so it can get pretty busy and a bit loud with people walking around, but there tables nearby to sit and enjoy your food. The setting gives off a lively, bustling vibe that fits well with the market atmosphere. The staff is friendly, and the overall experience was quick and easy.

Yelp
I love a good sandwich, so when I walked up to this shop and saw signs claiming they were voted "best sandwiches in the world," my expectations were high. That's a bold claim. I ordered the LA Numero 1 -- porchetta and gorgonzola on schiacciata (a focaccia like bread) -- two ingredients I genuinely love. The guy at the counter was friendly, and the sandwich was ready within a few minutes. So far, so good. Then I unwrapped it. Right away, it was obvious the sandwich looked nothing like the photos on their website or the ones plastered around the shop. The porchetta was sparse -- barely covering the bread and nowhere near hanging off the sides like advertised. It was disappointing, especially given the hype and price. The schiacciata itself was excellent, and the gorgonzola spread was flavorful, but the meat-to-bread ratio was completely off. I kept thinking that Subway puts more meat on their sandwiches and charges a fraction of the price -- not a comparison you want when you're positioning yourself as "the best in the world." Bottom line: good bread, good flavor, but seriously skimpy on the main ingredient. With this much hype and these prices, it needs to deliver a lot more than it did.

Yelp
Love long holiday weekends, because they offer the best chance to try new yummy food. The Farmer's Market has been a place my husband has visited since he was a young kid and has made it part of our family's go to. I've never had All'Antico Vinaio, but I have heard of them. So I was all in to give it a try today. First I will tell you, there will be a line and time of day can determine how long that line will be. Also be prepared for the possibility of having to eat standing up. This is a great time to remind you that there is seating upstairs. Being as this location is at the farmers market. It tends to be very crowded but for the most part, it's a very cool place to be. So glad u finally tried it! I had the La Summer, and just as the name would suggest it is a very light delicious sandwich. The prosciutto is spectacular, that alone is worth the price of the sandwich. My husband had The Italian hot. And OMG!!! That was absolutely fantastic. The Calabrian chili hot is heavenly. I could've had that with bread alone and been the happiest person on the planet. So yes the hype is true. They have the best sandwiches!

Yelp
I've been looking forward to trying All'Antico Vinaio for years. It's great that there are multiple locations around LA now! My family & I recently went to the farmers' market location next to the Grove. At around 12:15pm on Sunday, it was busy, but the queue moved quickly. You order at the counter and the staff prep the food in front of you, giving the casual vibes and deli experience. Luckily, we found a table nearby while waiting for our order. If we couldn't find a table, then we would've taken our food to the plaza outside of the market, where there are some benches. We ordered La Favolosa ($19) and L'Italiana ($19). La Favolosa was salty, savory, and slightly spicy; and the pecorino cream really stood out to me. L'Italiana was my fave; it was creamy, nutty, and little oily from the sun-dried tomato, but all of the components meshed so well together. Both sandwiches had great bread and quality ingredients. One half of a sandwich was a filling lunch for me. We toasted the other halves of our sandwiches in the evening, which tasted just as good. We'll definitely come again - or visit another All'Antico Vinaio location - when we get a chance!

Yelp
Way better than my experience with All'Antico in LV. The meat here is sliced thinly making it easier to bite. But still packed full of protein. And they are generous with the spread of truffle. The bread was nice and hot as well. I'm glad I gave this shop another chance. The La Dante is my favorite, there's so much flavor in the truffle spread! The La summer is just a Caprese w prosciutto, I'd skip it.

Yelp
We tried the paradiso, favolosa, LA Farmers Market and Italian hot. Fortunately when we went there was no line and the sandwiches came out quickly. The flavors were definitely unique, I liked how they used Kaylin and Kaylin pickles in the farmers market sandwich. The paradiso (pistachio, pistachio cream and mortadella) seems to be the crowd favorite, but I wasn't too impressed. Worth trying at least once!

Yelp
Sooo good. The most delicious sandwiches are served here. I ordered a mortadella sandwich and added some arugula and let me tell you ... it was wonderful. The bread is so good and the ingredients they use is good quality. There are many options to choose from. The portions are big. Customer service is ok and the ambiance is very nice. Lots of eateries next to each other so it creates a good vibe..

Yelp
I just happen to be at Farmers Market/The Grove and my stomach was starvin. My tummy radar turned the direction towards All' Antio Vinaio. I drive by the 6th St location regularly but parking in KTown is a pain. With a short line, All' Antico Vinaio was a must try after hearing the hype for some time. If you see the sign, Order Here, move over a bit to the right and talk to that guy. Appears the sign is in the wrong place and the meat slicer technologist apparently doesn't take orders. I had to be corrected. There's about 20+ sandwiches to choose from. Not sure what was the most popular. So, I figured the $19 sandwich options and the one on top of the list was the most popular which is La Favolosa. Within a few minutes of ordering, out came this perfectly wrapped sandwich. The Favolosa consist of salame toscana, pecorino cream, artichoke cream, and spicy eggplant. I thought this sandwich was good but a bit on the salty side. It needed something like balsamic and arugula to balance out the flavors a bit more. The best thing about this sandwich I though is the Tuscan flatbread and the spreads. The bread is crispy, golden, airy but chewy interior. A slight toast would be made this even better. I'd like to come back and try other sandwiches to compare to. Nice addition to Farmers Market and worth trying.

Yelp
A bit of a hectic experience here versus the other location I've been to. The order here sign is confusingly not where you order from, we stood there for a while before going told to move towards the pay here sign. The man taking the order was not very personable and that made it a little off putting for the group. The food itself was delicious and well worth the price and wait but I would skip this particular location and go to one of the other LA locations over this based on service
google avatar

Sabrina H.

Yelp
Wow I love how soft, fluffy, and fresh the focaccia was and the combination of truffle cream with pecorino and prosciutto was really unmatched. The bread is a little bit greasy but it also has a slight crisp. One of my favorite sandwiches. Everything tasted really high quality and a single sandwich is HUGE and enough to fill up two people when splitting. If you come during lunch time, it might get busy but the line moves pretty fast and there is ample seating in the market.
google avatar

Yelp
Having stopped by All'Antico Vinaio in Florence many years ago, I didn't think I would enjoy my sandwich just as much this time in the US, but I really did! The bread is absolutely perfect. It's fluffy but there's a bit of crunch to it, and the ratio of all the toppings works really well. Flavorful, large, filling, and shareable, the spicy turkey was a great option when shopping around these parts and in need of some fuel!
google avatar

Sofya P.

Yelp
I ordered LA Broadway and Golosa and both were delicious! The bread is so tasty and perfect texture. The pistachio cream in LA Broadway is just addicting. I can't wait to have it again.

Yelp
What an amazing sandwich!! I tried a similar sandwich from the other italian sandwich shop at the grove and this one is WAY better. I tried the Paradiso and I understand why it's the most popular option. Packed with flavor from simple ingredients. It's savory with a hint of sweetness. The bread is absolutely amazing. If you're paying $20 for a sandwich, it has to be superb.
google avatar

Sherry T.

Yelp
The hype is real! I tried the Pistachio. The meat is beautifully thinly sliced. The pistachio spread is what makes the sando. It's nutty and deeply flavored. I wish I had more locations closer to me as I would love to try the other sandos.

Yelp
The legendary sandwich shop from Florence is finally here! All'Antico Vinaio is a sandwich shop from Florence Italy that went viral in the last few years and has since expanded internationally, including LA, Vegas, and NY. This is their latest LA location in Fairfax. This location is small with limited seating so it can get pretty hectic. That being said, the staff seems pretty efficient and gets things moving quickly. Whether you want to get a sandwich with crushed pistachio cream or truffle honey, they have something for everyone! Their Italian cold cuts in each one are delicious. The sandwiches are amazing and the bread is nice and flaky but a few things are just not the same. First, the bread just doesn't seem to have the same consistency and freshness as Florence. Second, they aren't nearly as generous with the amount of meat and ingredients you get inside. Third, and related to the first two, is that despite getting a lesser experience you are paying a premium price! The combination of these, coupled with the fact of how good the original is, means I can't really give them more than 4 stars. Overall, if you are craving an Italian sandwich and just want a quick bite, you won't be disappointed. But if you are coming to relive your experience from Florence, you'll find something missing.

Yelp
Located where longstanding Bryan's BBQ Pitt used to occupy is All' Antico Vanaio, a sandwich shop serving amazing Italian sandwiches using Schiacciata, a thinner, less dense version of the focaccia bread. These sandwiches are HUGE. I tried to show the size by taking a pic of my 32 ounce water bottle in the background for comparison. This sandwich is easily shared with two people. The ingredients used to make the sandwich were fresh and of high quality. I am loving the sandwich I ordered La Paradiso. It was my first time eating a sandwich with pistachio cream and it will not be the last! I will be back to try the rest of the menu but for now, i am giving them a strong four for the first visit.

Yelp
Food is amazing but the customer service is absolutely terrible. I stood in front of the cash register for about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged I was there. They were very rude taking my order. I then proceeded to wait another 15 minutes for them to make the sandwich, and they gave me the wrong one. Gave it back, waited another 15 minutes, and got the wrong sandwich again. When i went to correct it they got very upset, threw the sandwich into the garbage very aggressively, and I was finally give the right order 15 minutes later.

Yelp
Great spot for delicious sandwiches, located at the farmer's market at The Grove. I first tried these sandwiches in Italy and in their first LA location on Abbot Kinney in Venice. This location is a bit more hectic, being inside of the 3rd street Farmer's Market, with 100s of people walking by, all cluttered in one place. The service too, was a little slow and not too many smiles there. Other than that, the experience was good. My The Favolosa sandwich with freshly sliced salami and pecorino and artichoke creams, was absolutely delicious. The bread is freshly baked, light, delicious and just out of this world. All in all, a great sandwich, but my top one there is probably La Paradiso, with imported mortadella and the cheese creams they use in it, are much creamier and each bite is more absorbed in those cheeses. But to summarize, both, The Favolosa with salami and La Paradiso with mortadella, are absolute winners. Will come to this spot again!
google avatar

Jillian G.

Yelp
New location had efficient service and was delicious. I got the LA Summer which was prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato, and basil on focaccia. It was simple and the ingredients really shined. My husband got a sandwich with porchetta, Gorgonzola, and pistachio cream - the meat was good and the cheese was the most prominent flavor. One sandwich is good for sharing since they are so big or else be prepared to have leftovers! Seating is avail in the Farmers Market. All' Antico Vinaio also offers 90 mins validation for the Farmers Market parking lot.
google avatar

Yu Z.

Yelp
Tastes good but the server told me they are out of arugula after she handed me the sandwich... Not even ask me if anything to replace
google avatar

Celine K.

Yelp
delicious sandwich, loved the bread and the ingredients inside. they had a lot of great options to choose from and made really quickly
google avatar

Yelp
For a place that just opened and is still training staff, this place is excellent! This was my first experience with All'Antico Vinaio. The focaccia bread was warm -- they briefly bake it before making your sandwich. My prosciutto was sliced on demand. Ingredients were fresh and a dash of salt and olive oil made it perfectly balanced. They assemble the sandwich in front of you so you can see for yourself how clean everything is kept. It's a very filling sandwich and can be shared easily but you will probably want to eat it all on your own. I'm excited to try the other sandwiches. It's a wonderful addition to the Farmers Market. The only meh part was the sparkling water -- plastic bottle sparkling was flat. It's best kept in glass.

Yelp
Nope. Nope. And nope. I came here on a day when I was craving a Paradiso, pulled up to the Ktown location, loaded up the meter and walked over, only to see a sign on the door that they were closed for the day. Undeterred (and after a quick Yelp search), I saw there was another AAV a few miles away. I should have kept driving once I realized this location is located within the Farmer's Market at the Grove. That's a "no-go zone" for me. Instead, I drove in, had to fight for parking and then wandered around aimlessly looking for the store. Once I found it, there were two very bored and not very friendly employees standing around with their arms crossed. As for the sandwich, it was so skimpily made, with just a few thin slices of meat and very little of the pistachio cream and pistachio spreads (I should have set myself up for disappointment the minute I was handed my bag -- it was as light as if there was literally nothing inside). $22 (with tip) for a piece of focaccia bread, 2-3 slices of meat and minuscule spread) and zero flavor. Waste of time and money. Never again.
google avatar

Brittany J.

Yelp
the bread was meh & they didn't know the different between prosciutto and porchetta (I ordered porchetta). I go to the market often so I'll try them again but they shouldn't work there if they don't know the difference in various cured meats. I will say I've seen someone order and it looked good. Maybe they were just having an off day? But it was really annoying to pay $20 for a sandwich and get the wrong meat.
google avatar

Jason P.

Yelp
Loved this place! You can tell everything is made with care and high-quality ingredients. The prosciutto is perfectly balanced and melts in your mouth -- exactly what you'd hope for from a real Italian deli. The sandwiches are packed with flavor, the staff is friendly, and the whole vibe feels warm and authentic. Definitely a spot I'd recommend.
google avatar

Connor M

Yelp
Literally the best sandwiches ever! Packed with flavor, generous portions and amazing staff that work super hard. Love coming here!

Samantha G.

Yelp
Sandwich: 4 out of 5 stars : simple, flavorful, even portions of focaccia to mortadella, the pistachio spread was delish and brought the whole sandwich together, the focaccia had a nice crunch to it but a soft chewy texture overall. Would order again. Service: 2 out of 5 stars: the "order" counter and the "pay" counter causes confusion with the customers and the staff aren't in sync whatsoever with zero communication to assist with the flow of order to pick up. My husband ordered our sandwich, took a step back, walked directly to the "pay" counter and the gentleman at the register asks the gentleman making preparing the sandwich next to him which sandwich he made so he could further ring us up. The gentleman preparing the sandwich had no clue what sandwich he just made and the gentleman at the register has to unfold and open the wrapper around the sandwich to visually distinguish what sandwich to ring us up for. Overall just poorly executed. Granted they just opened this location, I think there's some room for training to assist with the flow of operations.

Yelp
First time here and the reviews steered me here. The food was very nice, but very pricey for what you receive. Not a great value.
google avatar

Domenica P.

Yelp
First time ever getting a sandwich from here... Um, don't know what to say. I had ordered the Broadway, and instead of zucchini, it was eggplant in the sandwich. The eggplant wasn't great, and I was bummed because the menu description didn't match what I got.

Papo I.

Yelp
My favorite was the LA PARADISO Mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio cream, pistachio Amazing! Delicious! Tasty! Will come again to try other sandwiches!

Julie H.

Yelp
Meh! I heard so much about this place and finally went last week. The service was nothing, definitely not tip worthy. But the sandwiches ... I don't know what all the fuss is about! Yes, the focaccia bread is thick but the filling is minimal. The meat is like translucent tissue paper and there is not much of it. The sun-dried tomatoes were tasty, the arugula was limp and the whole sandwich tasted mainly of bread, not of the meat or the pecorino cream. Perhaps because we went at night the sandwiches weren't as good as I expected, but it was quite a disappointing experience. For the money I'd prefer to get a deli sandwich because it has more meat.

Shery B.

Yelp
La Paradiso is the best sandwich I've had in a while, and I don't even like them usually. Get it. Easily can feed two people. Bread is perfectly toasted with a nice but not rough crunch. Mortadella was quality. Pistachio cream and cheese was also right on.
google avatar

Mario V.

Yelp
All'Antico at the Farmers Market is officially our new obsession! Erin Coscarelli and I stopped by and were blown away by the La Paradiso sandwich every bite was perfection. The ingredients are insanely fresh, the bread is out of this world, and the flavors are next level. The whole vibe is authentic, vibrant, and exactly what LA needed. If you're a sandwich lover, this is a must. Huge shoutout to the All'Antico team, what an incredible addition to the city!
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
I love this sandwich spot and am incredibly happy they opened on in the grove...but this one wasn't as wonderful as the one in NY. I am a vegetarian so it's slim pickings on ghd menu so I had a La Broadway sandwich this time instead of my usual caprese. The pistachio cream is delightful!!! Will be coming back...hope they add more stracciatella
google avatar

J. Jesse H.

Yelp
F for service. Shoulda walked away but really wanted to try sandwich (which was fine, a little sweet, but the layout and experience ruined it for me. Walked up to the storefront where there's two signs - 'Order Here' and 'Pay Here'. I'm standing in front of 'Order Here', there's a meat slicer operated by a linebacker not looking at me as I'm waiting. No acknowledgement, no greeting, just 3 people wishing I wasn't there. When I finally tried to be assertive, I went to the 'pay here' sign and tried to order. The clerk shot me down and total me to wait at the 'Order Here' sign. So... back to the 'Order Here' sign I wait. More awkward stairs and I say, 'Do I order from you?', linebacker scowls to order with middle guy who barely notices me. Finally place the order, sorry to annoy you with my attempts to buy food, and eventually get the sandwich. It's a small operation, meaning everyone should be pulling their wait, and these people just made me feel like garbage. Definitely exploring somewhere else, next time.

Greg S.

Yelp
Fantastic sandwiches and a perfect fit for the farmer's market. Everything is on thin-sliced focaccia bread with Italian meats or veggies and creamy cheeses. Sandwiches are big enough to share if you're not super hungry. 10/10
google avatar

Kristin M.

Yelp
The MOST delicious subs that get you a tiny taste of Rome (although nothing can compare!). Bread is and love the mortadella.

A K.

Yelp
Maybe All'antico shouldn't have expanded from Italy. I got the Favolosa, which is the sandwich that made them famous, and it was just a heavy slop of bland, grainy artichoke and pecorino cream and a nearly invisible layer of meat. The spicy eggplant had 0 spice and was ice cold. The only thing decent was the focaccia itself which I would have gladly scraped all the ingredients off and just eaten that.

Colen S.

Yelp
Went to the farmers mkt location. Wanted to love it and was excited to come as just came back from spending 3mo in Italy. The bread is not crisp on the outside, which is the thing that I was most looking forward to. The inside got soggy really fast and the filling is no where near as much as they serve in Italy (had a turkey meat sandwich. The turkey was really tasty). There was more soft bread to chew through than there was actual filling. Chill since 93 has a better crisp bread sandwich than All'Antico. Such a shame, maybe other locations in LA are better..

G. M.

Yelp
Sandwiches are pricey and not worth the cost, especially when they're all bread and bone dry - barely any filling or condiments. Next time you're in Farmers Market, try Phil's Deli, Magee's or Du-par's instead, or better yet order a sandwich at Larchmont Wine & Cheese. Sadly, these sandwiches do not live up to the hype.

Sophie T.

Yelp
We'd just come back from Italy and craved good panini. Found this spot and loved it. The meats were authentic and the truffle cream is to die for. Our only negative comment is that we wished the panini were stuffed with more meats and veggies.

Ann T.

Yelp
It's seldom that I get a meal that I consider inedible, but the LA District sandwich I got here today was just that. The pancetta was dry, stringy and tough, and the other "fillings" consisted mostly of a huge pile of arugula on what turns out to be soggy focaccia. When I went back to the stand to complain, the workers seemed unconcerned, and in fact disdainful, about my displeasure. I was offered neither an adjustment nor an apology, but simply told I would have to throw the sandwich away myself, as "we don't take back food." Needless to say, I won't go back.

Shannon F.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Service impeccable sandwich amazing Highly recommend and will definitely become a regular
