This is a great place to get a coffee and pastry! I have came a couple times and am pleased every time! Each drink was well crafted and had great flavor. I do appreciate a good matcha as it is not easy to find a place that prepares ceremonial grade matcha correctly but you can definitely expect to find an excellent matcha latte here. The pastry are amazing as their soft on the inside and crisp on the outside, they’re so fresh you can see the chefs taking them straight out of the oven and onto the display. One thing that is notable is the waiting system. 10 minutes after they had opened there was a line formed outside and we were told there was no space and we had to wait. Around 20 minutes after they allowed a lot of the line in and we were all seated at the same exact time. I assume this is to keep the service smooth because they don’t want confusion with so many orders so you should keep this in mind if you’re in a rush. (This was also on a weekend so weekdays are probably different) I did see some people get frustrated with this aspect but as long as you have patience, it is not a big deal and in my opinion the wait is 100% worth the delicious coffee and pastry. This place is definitely a ‘must go’ place.

Beautiful café with quality coffee and pastries Allegra quickly became our favorite spot for breakfast and snacks while visiting Bologna. The coffee is excellent, the pastries are clearly made with care, and it’s obvious this café takes its craft seriously. The interior is beautifully designed – calm, stylish, and inviting – and the service was both friendly and professional. We really felt at peace here. The only thing we didn’t love was a Danish pastry filled with peas – a curious choice. Everything else we tried was delicious. Prices are on the higher side, but for the quality, setting, and experience, it’s absolutely worth it.

An exceptional breakfast croissant with vanilla custard - we're Lannan's regulars in Edinburgh and this totally compares. And this exciting plum pastry. They really know their pastry! Coffee is Arabica which is rare here but not standout for people from countries where it's more common. Lovely staff. We couldn't understand the 3.8 score - not deserved at all. Should be 4.5.

Although we waited about 40 minutes in line before being seated, i can confidently say that it was worth every minute of my time and every penny. Although the pastries are on the pricey side, they’re huge and very high quality. I myself ordered a pain au chocolat and it was probably even better than the one i had in Paris, my friend ordered a cream croissant and was equally exceptional. We also ordered cappuccinos which were both beautiful with careful detail and naturally tasty. The service was fast and attentive. I will definitely come back when i get the chance!

Lovely buttery croissants. I noticed that they keep increasing the prices little by little. The double vanilla cream croissant was buttery and not too sweet. The cappuccino was milky and creamy.

The best coffee I found in Bologna city center. I was looking for a place that serves international coffee and where you could have a chilled hipster-like atmosphere. I found it! We went there on May 1st and the hours were shorter, however, the guys were super friendly and still served us while closing up the shop! we will definitely be back to spend more time in that beautiful location and try the food!

Don’t be fooled by the low rating, this is one of the best spots in Bologna for breakfast pastries and small plate lunches. The wine list is excellent, focusing on natural wines, but they also offer great non-alcoholic options like kombucha. Coffee lovers should know that this place leans toward specialty light roasts rather than the classic Italian espresso profile, which might not be for everyone. One heads-up: the line on weekends is crazy long, so either go early or be prepared to wait.

Unlike many other reviews, I didn’t come here for brunch or breakfast. We had very late dinner (after 22:00h). And it was amazing. We had a very tender steak, and tortelloni. Incredible dinner atmosphere, good food. Also highly recommend the bar upstairs.
