I absolutely love this farmer's market! There's so much to explore from the vibrant stands overflowing with fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables to the mouthwatering variety of food vendors and restaurants offering everything from handmade pastries to global street food. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with friendly vendors, and the irresistible aroma of fresh-cooked meals in the air. Whether you're shopping for organic produce, grabbing a delicious bite to eat, or just soaking in the community vibe, this market truly has it all!

Google
A very expansive indoor farmer's market. Lots of different booths with produce, meat, snacks, and so much more. Pretty crowded. No place to eat food you buy unless they have seating at their booth. Overall a good experience.

Google
Love going here so much to see and do throughout market. Lots of food places and tons of homemade pastries and desserts.

Google
Love it! The food is fresh. The fruits and vegetables are amazing and look and taste nothing like a chain grocery store's thank goodness. The different cultural foods are fantastic. Pricier than chain stores but well worth it for the freshness of the foods and the knowledge of the origins of said food.

Wow. This is a massive indoor market. Runs really long with tons of indoor options. Multiple bakeries, deli’s, grocery stands, food stands, etc etc. There are multiple indoor restaurants if you want to grab a bite; even a couple with Asian leanings which I was surprised to see in a place which is so heavily Amish influenced. And also so many shopping options that you could be stopping by to do your grocery shopping for the week or even specialty shops such as a watch repair store or maybe you need some pet supplies. This indoor bazaar has it all. A lot of the meats and cold cuts look very fresh and delicious. I really liked the pretzel shop, delicious pretzels, and also the Kiffle Kitchen. Kiffles are delicious though not cheap. I will also say that the fruits and vegetables looked brightly colored, clean, and fantastic. Looks like everybody really care about the wares and out in the effort to show it.

Google
Large selection of really impressive fresh produce at reasonable prices. There are also various counters offering butcher cuts of assorted super fresh meats, fresh ice cream, nuts, sea food. Most vendors keep out free samples so you can try before you purchase as well. In between are hot fresh food restaurants. I got mandu from "Little Miss Korea" & the food was incredible. The owners were also really nice and polite. I also grabbed a cheesesteak roll from an Amish counter that was hot and pretty good. This place is somewhere different to spend a couple hours and get a different grocery shopping experience and a meal. Good for kids also.

Google
There’s something for everyone here. I read a review that suggested going after 4pm for the best deals, and I agree. I got some great deals on fresh produce at the end of the day. The market was very crowded, but that is probably a good thing for businesses. The market is at a convenient location with ample, free parking available.

Google
Good variety of different merchants. I have relatives spread across the USA – they're all amazed about the Allentown Farmers Market compared to the farmers markets they have at home I personally like Culinary Experts, David's Italian Market, Gannon's Gourmet, Johnny's Fresh Meats, and Soul Soup. All are accommodating. Many other merchants as well. At times, most often around holidays, the Market will offer gift certificates with a discounted incentive (for example: buy $60 worth of gift certificates, get $15 free). These are valid Market-wide, however an expiration date is imposed. I believe the Market's office needs to adopt a better way to sell its gift certificates, not only during promotional periods, but any time in general. Those selling the certificates individually date & stamp every one, which IMHO is inefficient but also leads to lines where customers may be waiting in line during promotional periods for well over an hour to buy their gift certificates, even with the Market imposing a limit as to how many promo gift certificate offers each person may take advantage of. Doesn't make much sense to me. Also, I believe the Farmers Market could improve its website, both desktop and mobile. Currently (May - June '25) the link to the list of merchants on the mobile site and the link to the Weekly Specials page on both Desktop and Mobile are broken. A few weeks ago I had spoken to someone in the Market office about this. I also feel the entry and exit doors to the Market should be replaced to be ADA-compliant, not only for those with disabilities. For as busy as the Allentown Farmers Market is, I think it should have automated doors for practical purposes. These would ease entry & exit for parents bringing children in baby strollers, for example, as well as for all shoppers coming into the Market and then leaving with their purchased goods

Yelp
The Allentown Farmers Market is a mixed bag. It's located under the grandstand of the Allentown Fairgrounds complex. Parking is easy but the lot in a few places is in rough condition. There are multiple entry points along the exterior of the building. Unlike other farmers markets, there is no outdoor or flea market portion. Interior is easy to navigate as it mostly goes in a straight line. Usual selection of vendors you'd expect to find here including meat, vegetables, baked goods, and deli items. Other vendors include a barber shop and cell phone accessories place. What does not stand out to me is the prices in general are higher than you'd expect at a Farmers Market for almost all items. I also would like to see more general dining options and seating for them, as the bagel place and food counter are always very busy, while other places seem to be more inclined for takeout even when having seating. Overall, if you are from the Lehigh Valley, a trip here occasionally is probably worth it. If you are from surrounding area's I'd consider going to Hometown Farmers Market or the Reading Fairgrounds Farmers Market instead.

Yelp
Prices for produce and meats in general are more expensive than a grocery store. As this is a farmers market, in the winter in this area where do you get tomatoes, watermelon, etc? Could it be the produce delivery trucks that are seen during non operating hours? Climate control is terrible. Cold in the winter, hot in the summer. My suggestion, if at all possible for you, go to a grocery store to compare prices.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market and was blown away by how many and the variety of vendors there were here and all they had to offer. There was plenty of parking spots at the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market and it is free parking. Since we went around the holidays, we were nervous about the hours of operation but the website was very informative and posted the hours they were going to be open or closed. There were vendors selling fresh seafood and meats, deli, baked goods, hot food, specialty foods and speciality shops. It was wonderful to walk around and everything smelled so good. There was even a barber shop, Viet food, Korean food, pickle, and spirits. We purchased donuts/crullers from Vallos Bakery, organic eggs from Mr. Bills, pretzel wraps from Stoltzfus Amish Deli, and kiffles from The Kiffle Kitchen. Everything was amazing. If you are in the area, definitely check it out. Some vendors do charge a credit card processing fee so bring cash if you want to avoid that. There are ATM machines around too.

Yelp
I love this place. Me and my family come here whenever we can. Minks, amazing! Dan's BBQ, delicious! There is truly something for everyone here! One of my personal favorites is the new York pickle! We get pickles on a stick almost every time we come. ALSO as someone with a gluten allergy, they have food gf stuff as well! Very yummy.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying I've been going to this farmers market the last 10+ years, I went to college down the street. It brings me so much joy to report that although some of the vendors have changed, it's exactly the same! So many amazing shops, they have something for everyone. Bagels, seafood, fruits/ vegetables, meat markets, sushi, pickles, candy, popcorn, donuts, pies, breads... you name it. They have all few non-perishable vendors too like a barber shop, watch vendor and vacuum vendor too. There's also a strange grocery / flea market in the very back! Parking is so easy and it's all indoors! It can get pretty crowded but that never bothered me. Awesome spot to check out if you have some free time!!! My personal fav is the "Amish Village Bake Shop" they make the most incredible Long John's (I love the vanilla frosted!) and we also grabbed a pie to bring as a housewarming gift. They boxed it so nicely. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
December 2022 I had never been to the Allentown Farmers Market. I wish I lived closer!!! I went with my brother twice here and it is very much a food market. Enjoy the amazing scents of all kinds of delicious smelling good wafting through the market. I was impressed with the variety! Many real butcher shops, cupcake war participant cupcake stand, soft pretzels, donuts, Vietnamese cooking, Pennsylvania Dutch delights, a distillery, a discount catch all store, many bakeries, a wonderful prepared food deli, lots and lots for the eyes, nose and tastebuds! Even Greek food stand. There is also a country store for home Devore and gifty items. Let's not forget your puppies at home- a really cool dog treat store with things I've never seen for dogs like chicken feet, and duck trachea?! Every kind of ears for dogs you could fathom but if your dog likes for sweet treats don't forget the "woof"les aka waffles for dogs. I can't wait to go back and purchase some items. The good looks wholesome and delicious.

Yelp
All of the food is fresh and good. The people give the best service and are extremely friendly. You can tell they're there every week. They're like family. The ambiance of the whole building is very busy, the bustling crowd seems to know where everything is located. I wish we lived next door but it is a pleasant 15 minute drive. Definitely going there many more times. Thank you man behind the counter at Soul Soup. You were so nice in handing me samples

Joanne. A.

Yelp
Great place. They have everything from produce, hot foods, delicious baked goods and more. Definitely worth s trip there.

Yelp
Soooo much to choose from. Luckily for me, I went at an off time so it wasn't packed with people. Enjoyed the variety. I tried the Amish Village Bake Shop and Billy's Soft Pretzels. One day, I hope to say I've tried everything at least once. Bigger than the Dutch Country Farmers Market in Flemington but definitely more expensive.

Yelp
For all of you who have a hole in your heart the shape of zerns, this could fill that. In fact it's much better. Tons of specialty shops. Dave's vacuum is one of them. Dog stores, candy, ice cream, and soaps. Vegetables and fruits. Nuts N more. I got smoked Gouda for $4.83. So much specialty cheeses and meat your head will spin. Cool little coffee spot where they make you a drink or grind your beans. My only gripe would be I didn't see any toys or comics. Plenty of trinkets. I only had an hour and a half to spend in there.

Yelp
I've been to farmer's markets up and down the east coast and have to say this was one of my favorites. Conveniently located in the Allentown fairgrounds they have ample parking and lots of variety as far as fresh and prepared foods, it's well worth the drive for us, which is about 1.5 hours away. The place does get crowded and provides carts, while most vendors accepted plastic there probably is a few that doesn't. All the vendors are inside, which was clean and comfortably heated. Some goodies not to be missed.... The freshly prepared salads, wish I got the name of the business, but they said they were there 40 years. The cold mustard chicken pasta was delicious! Also worth mention is the pretzal vendor located in the middle. They had the biggest line and featured hot sandwhiches (more like little calzones) made with their freshly made pretzal dough. It was worth the wait. There's also an all natural homepathic pharmacy on the premises that will provide samples. Now that we know what to expect I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
This place takes me back! Simplicity at its best this place is stuck in time. One of my all time favorite places to go to in allentown. The FOOD IS AMAZING always fresh and always tastes good

Christy S.

Yelp
Amazing place with so many options. We loved it. We will definitely be back. All the food choices were great. The food we got was fresh and delicious. The stuffed pretzel place is so good.

Yelp
Allentown fairgrounds farmers market has just about anything you may need to create a farm to table feast in your own home. The market was slightly crowded when we checked it out on a Friday afternoon and I would imagine is busier on the actual weekend. From soup to nuts this place has it all. Literally a soup shop and a nut store. They have popcorn, meats, produce, candy, spices and honey. It is a commingling of The Amish market, The Pensauken Mart, and the Columbus Flea Market all conveniently located in one massive building on the Allentown Fairgrounds. Stop in when feeling creative in the kitchen and grab the farm fresh ingredients needed to create a masterpiece from these friendly local vendors

Yelp
Let's bring this one up to the current. In the local LV area there are several different incarnations of farmers markets. Almost all are seasonal and outdoors, but this one is the OG of area farmers markets. Why? For starters there is one hell of a diversity of products you can get here. Everything from donuts, pizza, Korean, phone chargers, pretzels, produce and the biggest which would be meats and cheeses plus a lot more. (Yes, they technically do have a grocery store inside but I'm not counting that and I'm also not counting Ag-Hall which is a separate building next door and all of their odd train/dog/pet/gun/knife/clothing shows that take place throughout the year.) For me I rarely stray from a few stands: * Amish Village Bake Shop * Dan's BBQ * Stoltzfus Amish Deli * Culinary Experts * S. Clyde Weaver * Mr. Bills Poultry Market A few things to know IMHO: Pricing for certain things here is bad. Most produce is very, very high regardless of whether you're talking about it being out of season in winter or late summer when so many things are locally available and fresh. I've also made the mistake of last week buying two cloves of garlic at one of the produce shops that were black/rotten on the inside. That doesn't happen all the time but then again I would steer clear of any fruits/vegetables here. Especially in the meat/cheese department there is A LOT of overlap. Multiple places all selling the same things and it does help to shop around as places will do weekly specials so one week ring bologna might be $7.49/lb but next week it could be $5.19/lb. The bulk of the clientele have been coming here for their entire lives (I think the current longest continuously operating stand goes back to around 1960) and they know what they want. Aside from coming early in the day, it gets crazy busy here. A couple of reviewers mentioned the late Saturday sales and my take on that is of course it can be very hit and miss. Usually things that are in high demand will either already be sold out or there won't be a deal since a vendor like S. Clyde Weaver can just pack it up and truck it back to the home office in East Petersburg versus selling it at fire sale prices. I've had some luck with this but many, many people figured this trick out years ago and Saturdays in general are a zoo from about 10am on. Aside from one or two holidays plus when they close for two weeks to accommodate the Allentown Fair, the market is only open Thu-Sat. Other places certainly look nicer and they may have a greater variety into things like organics that overall you're not going to find here, but this place has a ton of diversity and once you find a few favorites it makes sense coming back week after week. A+

Yelp
Hands down Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market is one of the most charming, idyllic, very Pennsylvanian culture centerpieces that Allentown has to offer. Situated between the west end and center city it is a several blocks long indoor market that has nearly anything and everything you need for your fridge and table. In a world of so much change this Farmers Market is a mainstay and is filled with vendors who have occupied stands for decades delivering their home made, farm grown, or custom crafted foods, produce, meats, seafood, goods, or services. You can easily meet all your shopping needs for the week here. I came here nearly weekly as a college student nearby and had the rare gift of recently visiting on my way to a family reunion. The best part is not much has changed, but only improved. Reasons I simply adore the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market - It's an incredible way to support the local economy, farmers, craftspeople, restaurants - It is ALWAYS meticulously clean - A great way to meet people and learn about others (i.e. speaking with vendors and talking with fellow customers) in a way we no longer connect due to the rise of social media and changing means of how people gather - There is literally something here for everyone (learn more in a minute) - Prices are overall reasonable...but shop around to see who may have a better deal. That's part of the fun! - You will never go hungry - There are areas to sit and eat - There are free samples :-) Highlights inside the markets with some of my favorites that have been here forever: - Charlie Ks pizza...has been here for years. Simple cheese pizza for an incredible choice that you can enjoy right at the counter - Ample produce stands filled with local bounty, You won't find fresher finds...(Red Barn Produce and Bedway's Fresh Fruits come to mind) - Amish goods (ex. Stolzfus Amish Deli and Amish Village Bake Shop) including baked goods, meats, cheeses, etc. - Quality meats = Mr. Bill's, S. Clyde Weaver, Clover Farms - Seafood offerings = Heckenberger's Seafood and a sushi place - Delicious hot food/sandwiches = Southern Delights, Dan's BBQ, Loan's Vietnamese Bistro, Gdynia Polish Market - Loads of specialty made snacks including nuts, popcorn, candies, not to mention baked goods, bagels, pasta, salads, etc. - Specialty food offerings and bakeries including Mary Ann Donut, The Nut Hut, New York Pickle, Mink's Candies, Egypt Star Bakery, Emmaus Bakery, Country Pantry, and more! - Probably THE BEST coffee place I have ever been to for small roast batch as well as for incredible caffeinated drinks...Heffelfingers' Coffee and Tea (I am literally sipping some of their small batch bean coffee as I write this) - There are also alcoholic libations including Clover Farms Winery and more recently Eight Oaks Craft Distillery with authentic and unique products - There is an actual grocery and dollar store inside - Rare vendors to find include Dave's Vacuum and Old Watch & Clock Shop - Lena's Skin Care and a barber shop - Little kid rides for fifty cents Of note the market is open Thursday - Saturday and while many places offer Saturday afternoon discounts before close I would definitely recommend getting here earlier in the week if you don't want to run the chance of not finding a particular item. Otherwise it's fun to play roulette later Saturday at 3:30 PM and see what deals are available. Obviously I could go on forever and I only scratched the surface of what you can find here. Bottom line you don't need to consider coming, just go to the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmer's Market. I am already extremely hungry and nostalgic writing this review, yearning for when I can return!

Yelp
Nice place for some food. The BBQ in there was good and nice fruits. A bit expensive for the area but still worth it.

Big E.

Yelp
Old school, farmers market with individual vendors. Plenty of butchers with a wide variety of meats , smoked bacon, and poultry. Candy, nut, pickle vendors. Farm Eggs and Raw milk can be found here. Plenty of bakeries as well. Mediterranean food stand looked fantastic. The place smells amazing from all of the delicious food being cooked and served. Highly recommend the Amish breakfast stand in the center of the market, chipped beef on biscuit was excellent . Pancakes are so big you can't finish them - just order one if you get them . A definite must see if you've never been - fun place to shop. Gets crowded by the middle of the day on a weekend. I recommend you go early.!

Yelp
This is a nice market - and everything is priced very reasonably. There is ample and free parking out front. We loved picking up all the very typical Pennsylvania food items like Lebanon bologna, farmers cheese, beef sticks, rice pudding and the very buttery soft pretzels. The mini weiners wrapped in pretzel dough aren't to be missed, but shell out the extra 50 cents for the sweet mustard to balance the saltiness. I visited this place as a kid and it hasn't really changed much in 30 years. It's like going back in time. There is so many food stalls, and you won't want to miss the Amish baked goods either especially the shoe fly pie. You won't leave here hungry that is for sure!

Tom G.

Yelp
Allentown farmers market is definitely a place to checkout. There is a large assortment of speciality food vendors. Also has 3 produce stands and 3 butcher shops. But I noticed atleast one vendor( Johnny's Fresh Meats) charging me a fee for using my credit card.they charged 3% which as far as I know most places pay that fee as a price of doing buisness. 3% isn't really that much, but it was the principle. Besides that disappointment, I found the farmer market really cool, and there are two other butchers there. I decided to by my meat from clover farms and wasn't disappointed with the service or great specials that they have...

Yelp
I've been going to the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers market for over ten years. This is an awesome market, with a great diverse set of stalls full of wonderful people. My favorites are: Mr. Bills- get any and all the chicken sausage Kiffle Kitchen- kiffles, and cream cheese cupcakes Clover Hill- holiday wine and spiced apple wine. Mary Ann's Donut Kitchen- donuts of course If you're looking for deals, go after 3:30 ish on Saturday - the prices drop and will continue to drop until closing (empties out by 5:30pm).
google avatar

James A.

Yelp
This place is a landmark .. so many cool shops and great family stands with long tradition of being a staple. There is a need for some updates to the interior of the market and the different establishments I hope one day the landowner realizes this and offers its tenants the ability to update their stands to improve them for future.
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
It's just OK. -easy to find -plenty of parking -the market is inside with a/c so weather not a problem -peaches were from Georgia, and pretty good -produce not cheap, on par with Whole Foods prices -Mr. Bills poultry is the place, I would return just for that place...busiest place there, very helpful workers, and very creative prepared turkey burgers and chicken sausage -Seafood place looked spent -bought some licorice at the candy place, boy I have had better pretty much anywhere else Overall, I'd return for Mr Bills, if i was nearby. I am still searching for a farmers market like the good old days.

Jim P.

Yelp
Short review but just because they constantly meet or exceed expectations. Good food, good organization, inside to protect from bad weather, can handle crowds easily.
google avatar

Jim W.

Yelp
There is nothing fancy here, nor should you expect it. This is a traditional indoor farmer's market that offers fresh vegetables, meats and baked goods in a traditional Pennsylvania Farmer's Market environment. If you're from around here, this is your kind of place. If you're not from around here, the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmer's Market might just make you wish you were!

Danny Boy S.

Yelp
Haven't been here in years, now I remember why. Prices are just out of control; Bought two what I thought would be tasty steaks for the grill but were tough as shoe leather. Bought a few different sides but none had much taste and for coleslaw and macaroni salad were very pricey. I felt bad for the older locals shopping there paying these crazy prices. I'll stick with Costco. The produce at the Farmers Market was insane $10 for a small carton of strawberries. Come on get real
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
I had to take a bit of a road trip to get a COVID shot and detoured here after a friend told me it was along the way. One word - overwhelming. Produce stands, meat stands, fish, snacks, pies, fried chicken, coffee, furniture, wine, cheese, even a Vietnamese spot... the market is long and narrow so you can check out all the vendors without missing any of them if you make a complete loop. I left with Amish pie, cheesecake, fritters, and a to-go chicken dinner from a few different vendors.
google avatar

Owen R.

Yelp
Awesome. Had little or no expectations.. Inside was amazing, the food choices incredible. I WISH,wish... They had this in my city. The amount of baked goods, meat and vegetables were excellent. The whole place was pretty bag and a perfect variety of different Goods. The only downside is it does not have good coffee, at all. The Coffee Spot was terrible.
google avatar

Danny Boy X.

Yelp
Nice place for fresh produce local baked goods and local meats Dans barbecue foods is a must for all visitors
google avatar

Nikki R.

Yelp
I love this place. They have a wide range of different foods, including different ethnic food. Amish Village Kitchen is amazing! Fresh ingredients, friendly faces, and fairly priced. I come to the farmers market every weekend for the fresh fruit and vegetables. They also have Clover Hill winery which has an abundance of wines to choose from. This place is family friendly and a lot of parking outside. If you're in Allentown you must stop by. For deals, go on a Saturday around 4-6 as this is usually when they start selling food half off/marked down.
google avatar

Isabelle H.

Yelp
After all the years this place has gotten better with age... the fresh food is still second to none... when you go to eat there.. you will feel so fat after , because the food is delicious!! I love the restrooms so clean and they have a real bathroom attended who makes sure of that... you can find anything you want there from candy to vegetables to meat lol.. pizza as well and breakfast. I am not kidding when I say this place keeps its old time feel with a new era of spectacular food and kind people.
google avatar

Vanessa W.

Yelp
The best farmer's market in the area. You can pick up some staples here, as well as some great gormet foods. Try some traditional PA German foods, and interact with the friendly store owners. Great cuts of meat, cheeses, seafood and produce. Having a party? Make this your first stop. Even sustainable options of local food, organic meats, and east coast seafood. Forget Wegman's, this is the real market experience without the sky-high prices. Open Thursdays through Saturdays. Update: I have taken several out of towners here for a true Lehigh Valley experience. Both have requested to go back, if that tells you something about the food. Their favorites include the Amish baked goods, potato skins from Ribs N Things and Auntie Anne's Soft Pretzels.
google avatar

Ingrid P.

Yelp
Best kept secret of the Lehigh Valley. I always get excited when I come here because I never know what I will leave the farmers market. There are too many stores for me to list but there are some notable ones that I would like to mention: the Amish Village Bake Shop (anything from them really), Mr. Bill's Poultry Market (huge selection of gourmet sausages), and Foods of the Mediterranean (highly recommend their gyros and hummus). The best thing about the farmers market is that they are there Thursday to Saturday so they cannot keep their produce to the next week so starting at 4PM on Saturday, many stores start discounting their merchandise to get rid of them. That is the best time to go and grab produce, deli items, and many more items. I always need to make a stop here when I come home because the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market is so unique that I cannot find any farmers market in Pittsburgh that is comparable.
google avatar

Yelp
The good old Allentown Farmers market, not much has changed in the last 30 years. Same stands, same faces, even the same rides for kids. However, I think I have been spoiled by the amazing farmers markets in metro Detroit because this place just isn't the same. While you can pick up some great farm fresh produce, meats, eggs etc. the prices here are not cheap. Most farmers markets pride themselves on being affordable because you cut out the middle man ( grocery store) markups. But things here are still pretty pricey. The smart thing to do is to come about an hour before closing time, this is when the vendors are trying to get rid of things and reduce prices. In addition to the above you should definitely pick up some treats from the Amish bakery, they are amazing. I recommend the super wet shoe fly pie. Unfortunately, you won't be finding any gluten free options here if you have restrictions. You can also grab a bottle of wine from Clover Hill and the ladies inside are super friendly and helpful. It's not the cleanest place and the end near the little grocery store at the end scares the crap out of me but there's some good finds.

Linda H.

Yelp
I love the choices and there is great food available but I was there today and none of the staff had masks on. When I asked one person if that meant they were vaccinated she said not necessarily. When I expressed my concern she told me it was a personal choice and a free country. My concern is the uptick in cases and the new variant.

Kate S.

Yelp
CLOVER FARMS!!!! My 2nd time coming to the market. 1st time trying out Clover Farms burgers. As soon as you walk up David(the butcher and one of owners) greets you. Introduces his team and starts joking with you. Burgers were so delicious and juicy! Better than restaurant. And with all kinds of crazy names how couldn't they be great. Worth the 30 minute drive. Definitely going to be a routine customer. Thank you David, Donna and crew! Be sure to check out Donna's weekly chalkboard art!

Yelp
We go to the Allentown Pinfest every year. The Farmers Market is always our first stop. Go there for breakfast, sit at the counter and order a greasy egg sandwich or omelet. The vendors here are wonderful. I highly recommend the Kiffels from Kiffel kitchen. Also one of the vendors has beef bacon (which is so tasty).. Who knew? Come on a Saturday at the end of the day. Everything is priced to go and negotiable. Eat for a week for next to nothing. Great people, great service, very authentic. A+

Yelp
I Love the variety of stands here. I have probably purchased something from each one over the years. It's better to go on a Thursday if you want to beat the crowds. Saturday is the busiest. If you wait until later on a Saturday and you not going for something special you can really get some good deals. There is always plenty of parking. They have shopping carts available, but the isles are narrow and it's hard to get through the crowd. If your in the Allentown area do yourself a favor and stop by.

Yelp
An outstanding experience that is far more than just your average farmers market. Start with delicious breakfast at the Amish Village Kitchen. Plan on finding an outstanding variety of fresh vegetables, fresh meats and seafood of every kind, and gobs of dessert options. If your having dinner guests and want to impress, this is one stop shopping. Excellent variety of side dishes, cheeses, PA specialties and so much more. Saturday's are super busy, we love going on Thursday mornings and stocking up for the week. A fair amount of quality crafters and woodwork vendors as well. Grab a milkshake on your way out. Indoors and air conditioned - a great stop even if the weather is bad.

Yelp
I love going to the Farmer's Market because it reminds me of when I was a kid and my grandfather and I would go there on a Saturday morning. Their meats and produce are always fresh and there are a few eating stands available to get coffee or food. One thing I noticed about the market is the fact that the prices of the food and produce is basically the same no matter which stand you go to. If you want pork sausage at stand "A" it's $5.95 a LB at Stand "B" it's $5.95 a lb and at stand "C" it's $5.95 a lb. The same goes for the produce. Strawberries are priced the same throughout the market, as well as other produce. I definitely think there is some collusion going on amoungst the vendors. This is unlike the way it is at the Q-Town Farmer's Market where you can shop for the best price. Overall, it is a great place to get your fresh meats and produce.

Yelp
Ah, my beloved local farmer's market!! I frequent this place almost every weekend. This is the kinda place where I feel most comfortable - surrounded by food -- and lots of free samples! There are so many stands and concessions that you can easily spend hours here before you know it. The meat vendors sell everything you could possibly want from prime rib to well, piggy snouts. Need an oxtail? No problem. Ham hocks? How many? Sweetbreads? You picked my brain! Everyone takes huge amounts of pride in their products and services. My picks?? Clover Farms - Love these guys. They have some of the best meats around! Fairground Poultry Market - One of the few places you can find local, free-range organic poultry Mr Bill's Poultry - One word: SAUSAGE Heckenberger's Seafood - The freshest and best priced seafood you can find in the area Stoltzfus Amish Deli - Wonderful cheeses and meats Bread Brokers - Amazing artisan breads Southern Delights - Try their blueberry heaven dessert and prepare to cry My list is really endless, but you get my drift. My only gripe is that there aren't any organic produce stands here. I heard of one having been there in the past but the variety is next to nil. The produce is cheap though, I must admit. It's no secret that the best deals are found towards the end of the day. Be warned though, the place gets seriously crowded then. The place is always packed with both locals and visitors. They're only open three days out of the week (Thurs-Sat) so I guess that has something to do with how busy it gets here.

Yelp
When I visit my brother (a serious food guy like me) we end up here. It's a classic public market, mostly food, with a few other vendors thrown into the mix. If you come looking for farm-raised free-range meat or organic veggies fresh from the local farms you might be disappointed. They're represented here, but they're not the primary focus. If you want to buy meat from the butcher, cheese from a cheesemonger, fruits and veggies from a greengrocer and specialty food items this is a great place. It also gives you a sense of the lay of the culinary land - the foods of immigrants who arrived generations ago (whose blood runs through many of the shoppers) can be found here, including Polish and Pennsylvania Dutch foods. There's quite a bit of ready to eat food for sale, ranging from fast food to home cooking style dishes. Most of what I've tried is OK, but you'd do much better to ingredients here and cook them yourself at home. Every time I've grabbed lunch here it was just fine, but the dinners we make in my brothers kitchen from our haul are always much better. If I lived in the area I'd hit the supermarket for canned and dry goods, hit the local farm stands for the best of what they have to offer, then come here for everything else. You can do very well here on a moderate budget if you shop smart. As a place to grab a bite I'd rate the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market two or three stars, depending on which vendor you choose. As a place to take the pulse of the local food scene it's easily four or five stars. As a public market - a place to pick up quality veggies, meat, cheese and specialty items the place is a very solid four stars. Some of the prices are a little higher than the average supermarket, but the quality is pretty high. Overall you're getting what you pay for here, including a very good shopping experience. This market is my main destination in Allentown. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I loved this place. It is a great selection of permanent stores in a long warehouse building. Only open Thursday to Saturday so it means that you have to plan your visit. We visited a wide variety of stores from Amish sweet shops, smoked meat stores, butchers, pickle stores, produce stores. Much of it is prepared gourmet foods. Many different cultures are represented. This isn't what I typically think of when I hear Farmer's Market and is VASTLY different from what I experience in California, but I don't need the labels. It is old school and it feels a bit like walking into the past. VERY popular (granted I went on New Year's Eve Day).

Yelp
I traveled to Allentown for a minor league hockey game and decided to hit up the Farmer's Market beforehand. The market is open Thurs, Fri, and Sat and has plenty of free parking. I was there later in the day Sat and many of the vendors were slashing prices. The market has lots of fresh baked goods, meats, seafood, coffee beans (lots of fun flavors), wine, salsa/honey, chips/popcorn, candy/nuts, fruits and veggies. One stand had some really good looking BBQ and rotisserie chicken. It was nice to walk around and look at everything for about an hour. There are also a few stores with very reasonably priced signs and knick knacks. I would highly recommend as a place to kill time or if you live more locally, definitely a great place to get fresh meats and veggies! The only down point to this place is the huge dollar store. I love a good dollar store but this dollar store is absolutely gross. It looks like everyone in town cleaned out their grandma's basement and put the contents in the store for sale.

Yelp
I absolutely love it here. This is where I go when I don't feel like selling my first born to Wegmans. They have just about everything you could possibly need, meats, cheeses, bread, (hit up the bread lady down by the dollar store, she makes the BEST bread I've ever eaten) and old-fashioned candy! I can't imagine going anywhere else for for veal or lamb, and if you give them enough time, most places can get whatever your little heart desires. Word of advice, bring your own bags, because there really isn't enough room for the carts people insist on using. Also, I'm voting the market as wheelchair accessible, but if you don't absolutely need one, don't bring it. Everyone around you will thank you. My only gripe is that dollar store. It's weird and unnecessary for the environment. I'm not even sure it's a dollar store, but I don't really know what else to call it.

Yelp
Since 1980, I have browsed and shopped here, Pennsylvania Dutch/German Meats and Pastry. Pretzel Dogs from Annie's; County Fair Pizza, Cookies and Doughnuts to die for, Fruits and Vegetable Stands, Seafood, Cheese Shops. You have to see and Smell this place to believe it. My wife took me here when we dated and all through our marriage, yes, we still our. Did this place help? Why not? It's an Adventure in Global Gastronomy: Mediterranean, Eastern European, Middle East, Far East; The Continental Americas, All American Southern, Mid-Atlantic. There's California, New York, and the World in between. It can be economical, it can be expensive! And then the Goodies the Cook/Chef/Amateur/God of the Gas Ranges needs. And there is what "We" could or would need. i have never left and have never seen anyone leave empty handed or unhappy. Come and experience it for yourself.

Yelp
I don't go to the Farmer's Market often, but I enjoy visiting once in a while. You can't find everything here, but there are some things here you won't find at Wegman's. I go for the chipped beef, rolled butter, ring bologna, mozzarella balls, and veggies. There is guy who sells hot sauces and nuts who is really nice- he was able to track a hot sauce that I couldn't find in any store and has some really tasty roasted peanuts! The amish ladies make a yummy cheesecake! I didn't really like the corn pie- the boiled egg in there was weird to me, and the bbq ribs from the same place were dry (very tasty when we brought them home and refried them with more sauce). There is a stand that sells italian cookies and I bought a whole box since I was in the mood for some, but they are nothing like the kind you'd get at an italian bakery.. maybe my batch was just old? If you go later in the afternoon on Saturday a lot of the vendors drop their prices trying to get rid of their stuff. It's very crowded at that time too, but you can get some great deals on vegetables and meat! (although all the freshest stuff will be gone already) You can get a bag full of trimmed broccoli for a dollar! Watch out for the tomatoes though, I got some rotten ones hidden at the bottom.
