We were visiting Woodstock with a large party, and an online search yielded Allison's as one of a few well-rated spots that would not only be open to large groups, but also welcoming to a pet who was traveling with us. The restaurant is homey and cottage-like, both inside and out. The menu has a diner-like variety and everyone from our youngest to our oldest eaters found something they wanted. Everything across the board was decent and well-seasoned. Feeling particularly peckish, I ordered their cheeseburger hero, which turned out like a classic chopped cheese sandwich. I really appreciated the warmth and flexibility of the service here. The members of our party were arriving at all different times, but our waitress was quick to drop by our table and collect orders from the newest arrivals. We have a few picky eaters in our group, but the kitchen was open and welcoming to their modifications. Other servers kept our water glasses filled, and sizable lollipops were doled out to all the kiddos in our groups at the end of our meal (to their great delight).

100 out of 10!!! Beautiful atmosphere, great service, friendly hostess/waitress named Isabella recommended us the most delicious dishes and cocktails 🍹 first time tried the coconut margarita and it was amazing. Will definitely come back as this place just stole our hearts ❤️

Food was delicious! My husband ordered the filet and shrimp special, the sauce was amazing, if they sold it in jars I would have brought some home with me. I ordered the chicken panini and a white sangria, so tasty and very filling. We did have to go find someone to seat us when we arrived, everyone seemed to be very busy. Totally understandable with a small business but I don't remember seeing a sign when we walked in like wait to be seated or we will be with you shortly, which would have been good. We made the drive from West Shokan and it was definitely with it. If I visit the area again I will definitely go back for another meal!

My husband and I came to woodstock for our anniversary, we had dinner at Allison’s restaurant the first night - and it was so delicious we came again the second night. The food was amazing , the drinks were out of control and the staff was so friendly! We would drive the 1hr 20 for a dinner here! 10/10 recommend

Stopped by for lunch today - Friday afternoon. Only one other table was occupied at the time. Great restaurant appeal from outside and in. Entrance is beautiful and elegant. Nice, clean bathroom(one). Food came out within 10 minutes of ordering. Ordered a French onion soup(came out less than 2 min after order placed) and a Ruben. Soup presentation was 10/10, Looks picture worthy. Quality? Not a bad French Onion but nowhere near my expectations after looking at the pictures online, and SEEing what was brought out. The look of it made my expectations high. Turns out, they put a slice of cheese on top, and torched it to melt and blacken(no bake/broil possible in the time it took them to make it. 5/10 soup (I’m very critical of my food so don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad, but not what I’d expect after looking at the pictures of their food online). The Ruben was slightly overpowered by sauerkraut, they put it on both sides of the bread. There was a part of the sandwich that was just bread and sauerkraut, no meat(1/4 of sandwich). Sweet potato fries? 10/10. This was my favorite part of the meal. Not sure how the vibe is here on a weekend or a busy time. Involving drinks into the experience may have you overlook little discrepancies in the meal but I’m a foodie. I pick where I eat based on reviews and pictures. My opinion isn’t driven by drinks and the “quality of time spent here with company”(I’m usually just stopping for a lunch break while working on the road). I rate a place based on food and service. Waitress was quick to come up and serve me, friendly and provided input when I asked for it. Not bad for the price, I’m curious how a different meal would have changed in my experience, but that’s a thought for another day if I’m back in this area. 6/10 overall. Rounding it up to 4/5 stars. Didn’t have anything totally ruin my experience to give a mediocre rating, but honestly expected more from the pics and reviews that I saw.

Today is February 17, 2025—Washington Day, a holiday. Food: Good, but a little oily, which makes it lose some of its flavor. Service: Only one waiter on the floor during lunchtime, which wasn’t enough since the place was full. Atmosphere: Nice, with Valentine’s decorations.

Such a cute restaurant in Woodstock! I ordered the chicken marsala and my boyfriend ordered the chicken Francese, and both were absolutely delicious! I came with my boyfriend's family, which included a one-year-old baby and a small dog, as a group of 8. The restaurant allowed us to bring in the dog and had a seat for the baby, so they were very accommodating. The mixed food platter wasn't my favorite, but the mango pineapple smoothie was delicious! I also ordered the soup with my pasta and the chicken and rice soup was delicious as well. Despite having a big group, they were pretty good with keeping up with us and our big order during a busy time of day. I genuinely had a great experience here and would be so happy to come back. To be honest, my boyfriend's dish was even better than my chicken marsala, and the chicken marsala is so good!

Had gluten free options! Salad was extremly fresh. I had a chicken cordon blue wrap that was gluten free. Everything was excellent for a small restaurant. The mirrors in the bathroom are cool. We will be back for sure.

Yelp
Diverse menu with a little something for everyone. The prices are appropriate for area and the quality has not disappointed. Located in Woodstock with lots of windows to people watch. The staff are good listeners and willing to make adjustments. I've been there several times and plan to visit again.

Yelp
Delicious dinner on a Tuesday night, with no wait at 7pm. My dinner was a branzino dish with roasted potatoes, spinach, tomatoes, garlic, and a sauce they made to be gluten free and dairy free - lemon sauce with EVOO instead of butter. Seriously so good! Husband had a Rueben sandwich with sweet potato fries (extra $), and felt it was good but nothing spectacular. Hard to make this be a standout sandwich I suppose. One kid had a cheese ravioli parmigiana entree and it was so much cheese. The other kid had chipotle chicken BLT sandwich and really liked how spicy it was. Service was great, waitress was knowledgable and the staff was attentive with water refills. The inside is super cute with plants hanging throughout the ceiling. We took our daughter's service dog that she's raising and the waitress brought over a bowl of water for the dog.

Yelp
Staff was amazing. The food was delicious. You must try the sesame chicken appetizer. Chicken parm was fantastic. And delicious drinks.

Yelp
This small spot serving up some pretty decent breakfast. I got Allison's breakfast. 2 eggs over easy, toast, black beans with sour cream, avocado slices&white cheese. Yum yum yum. Top it with an iced Chai latte that tastes like a thousand calories. So u no it was good! Service was on point, Small, quaint, perfect

Yelp
The place was very cute and had a nice vibe including windows and plants upstairs. BUT this place severely lacks flavor and seasoning. Light pours- my mixed drink tasted like a melted popsicle - I didn't even drink it. I got scallops and there wasn't one spec of seasoning on them. My finance liked the margaritas and steak he got but I didn't try either of them. Since we were from out of town we also got food to go for later. I got the Greek chicken wrap and again literally NO seasoning at all. Just a plain chicken breast. Imagine my disappointment when I found out later that night that the little container of tzatziki was rancid. I wouldn't eat here again.

Yelp
We're from Chicago and we were staying in Woodstock for a long weekend. We arrived into town late, and we were looking for something simple and inexpensive to eat. Allison's seemed have positive reviews and a good choice for dinner. It was late, so there were only a few tables with customers. The room was fairly unremarkable, but we saw that they have a second floor that looks to be more interesting. Perhaps they use that floor for special events or if it gets busy. The waitress who greeted us when we arrived was sitting at a table having dinner with her friends or family. So after seating us, we never saw her again. Another gentleman took our order. My husband ordered the Chicken Casserole with a side order of garlic bread and I ordered the California BLT. The food arrived relatively fast. My husband said that his casserole was okay, and the garlic bread was a huge loaf, but rather ordinary. My BLT looks unremarkable but the French fries were served in a cute, small fryer basket. I took a couple of bites of my BLT and there didn't seem to be any bacon on it. It wasn't a very big sandwich, so I finished one half without too much fuss, but I swear that I didn't taste any bacon. Before I started eating the other half of the sandwich, I looked through the layers, and sure enough--no bacon. I mean how can you serve a BLT without the B? I called the waiter over, and he was gracious about making me a completely new sandwich and fries, but I ended up taking half of it home and never ended up eating it because we had something going on every night for the rest of our trip. I went back and forth about giving Allison's two or three stars, but I just thought that giving me a sandwich with the main ingredient missing was a big misstep. Allison's is good if you're looking for an inexpensive meal in Woodstock (most of the restaurants are on the pricey side), but it isn't going to knock your socks off.

Yelp
One word... Wow. This place felt like HOME! We took a trip to the Catskills for a night, we come from about two hours away so I searched the internet long and hard for some good food!! I'm so glad I came across Allison's, everything was amazing!!! We were sat right away, menus drinks, etc all right away! Our waitress and waiter were absolutely attentive and such friendly welcoming people! Our drinks and food were exceptional. Chicken piccata and scallops, cooked perfectly! Flavors were authentic and delicious, it's hard to find a good Caesar salad and chicken and rice soup, as well as butternut squash soup, fresh guacamole... They had it all!!! Thank you Allison's for an awesome dinner and experience!!! Next time we're here we will definitely come back and visit! The real flowers on the table- so cute

Yelp
Food was hearty and good but we waited FOREVER - an hour for pick up that supposedly would take 2 minutes. Was hard w a toddler but they were really nice. Got the salmon, a garlic chicken pasta w oil and garlic bread. Probably easier to dine in.

Yelp
I had a fantastic meal here. I had the Hamburger Hero with a side of fries, best burger I've had in years! Perfectly cooked, fries were crisp.

Yelp
The long-running and previous Joshua's will always be remembered as a Woodstock staple. But with their closure, Allison's Restaurant made their entrance. There are no shoes to be filled as Joshua's was global and Mediterranean with the Shashoukas, Israeli salads, shammatov, etc. Those were the days. The newest kid on the block, Allison's, also runs the gamut between a mix of wraps to quesadillas to fajitas, some Italian fare to souvlaki to Mexican street corn to a cordon Bleu- heck, there are even plantains offered here. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Since hubs and I are spending almost every weekend in Woodstock, I have a better gage at comparing menus and who's offering what. The owner Isabel, is super pleasant and welcoming. The space is very minimalist and the dining room feels toasty good. She and her family are bringing a different spin to their restaurant- but they're also keeping in line and offering a Smoke Salmon sandwich for instance- which a lot of people enjoy (I do too) and other breakfast staples. Ventilation system is great and I didn't carry those food smells on me. These folks open at 9ish(?) and close at 9:30 I think and offer more than the 3 square meals. Again, the menu is all over the place, but options are almost endless. Despite the 'bland' or 'mediocre food' a few folks are complaining about, it was a simple breakfast pickup for me. The high-end prices in town are something hubs and I are familiar with- but it's also nice having a new eatery offering a menu that won't break your wallet.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this gem while staying at a B&B a block away. So good we ate there 2 nights in a row. Unlikely spot for Italian but the ravioli and spaghetti with meatballs was great. Loved the special spring white wine sangria. Do yourself a favor and try it out. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Ronnie R.

Yelp
Hidden gem, stopped in for a drink and the bartender did not disappoint!!!! Highly recommend Alison's

Yelp
Menu is very large, not quiet the normal diner size but close to it. We saw a bunch of people getting burgers etc and we should have gotten the hint that might have been the better option. French Onion soup lacked richness and she squash soup seemed like puréed squash without and depth. The service was ok. They kept checking on us. But it was too much. I think we were asked if we wanted bread 4 times. The food was just ok. We were fed, but we didn't take home for left overs.

Yelp
We had a great time here!! I grew up dining in this charming corner restaurant with all the beautiful twinkle lights. When it sold and Allison's opened, we hadn't been because they did not serve alcohol at the time and we like wine and drinks with dinner. Now they have their liquor license. The menu is big with a great selection, which is kind of rare in this town. The staff are all really friendly. They don't rush you, which is always nice. My son got a steak and likes it very rare - cold center. It was cooked perfectly. I got spaghetti, my daughter tried the falafel wrap, and my husband got the filet of sole. We all loved our food! The wine was good and my husband's Manhattan was made correctly. We will definitely be back!

Frank S.

Yelp
Our breakfast experience at Allison's was a wonderful one. The food was delicious and the service was quick and friendly. We are so glad we stopped in!

Jessica R.

Yelp
We came here for an afternoon Valentine's Day lunch. The ambiance and decor was exceptional, down the heart shaped straws and food picks with hearts on the end. The menu is expansive, and great gluten free options (wraps, bread, pita). An easy pick if you're looking to eat in the heart of Woodstock. Service was friendly, matched the energy in the room, and went above and beyond. Highly recommend to all.

What a find! we enjoyed our brunch here with a terrific eggs benedict dish as well as the best Huevos Rancheros! well priced for the quality. we will be back - soon!

Yelp
I was going to Woodstock yesterday to see a movie at the Tinker Street theater. But found out about Allison and decided to try it out. There were a couple of people in the dining room when I arrived around 6 PM. I was greeted with a smile by the server. Sat down at a table for two. Got the menu and saw there was lots of good choices things you don't see on other menus like casseroles I decided to order the entrée of spaghetti and meatballs with marinara sauce. You can pick from meat sauce also for an extra few bucks Decided to try and order of garlic bread with mozzarella cheese. Also the fresh lemonade. I picked the chicken and rice soup. I got a nice bowl soup with plenty of chicken. I'm nervous about getting soup at some restaurants because sometimes they're too salty and other times they put Manian glucoma meat in the soup stock. The chicken was very good tasting and the soup was definitely not salty, nor did it contain MSG. My spaghetti and meatballs came out along with the garlic bread. The spaghetti and meatballs were presented very nicely on the plate. The spaghetti was cooked very nicely. The sauce had a good flavor to it. Maybe a bit too tangy for me I like a sweeter sauce. The meatballs were big and delicious. With a very good flavor nice taste of breadcrumbs, other seasoning, and the meat nice and fresh. I enjoyed the garlic bread. It was a big portion. The service was good and the food here is a very good value, I definitely wanna come back and try some other things. The cheeseburger hero looks good. Some of the casseroles also seem very intriguing. I'm happy that a restaurant in Woodstock has a menu with a lot of different choices very reasonable prices throughout the menu.

Yelp
Food was very good and so was the service. Even on a busy holiday weekend our food came out quickly and it was delicious.

Yelp
This used to be Joshua's, which we were very sad to learn closed their doors permanently. We enjoyed eating there when we went to Woodstock to visit. We were pleasantly surprised when we visited Woodstock yesterday, and stopped in for a bite to eat at Allison's Restaurant who took over Joshua's building. The food was out of this world & the waitress was over the top accommodating & very sweet. They have an extensive menu, offer gluten free options & the prices are so affordable!! Fresh flowers on the tables & the bathroom was very nice & spotless!! We Love Allison's & will go back every time we visit Woodstock!

June D.

Yelp
Great food. Quick service. Never been disappointed. Always my choice. The fried Ravioli is delicious. They have sweet little vases with flowers. The menu is wide and accommodating for you.

Dennis S.

Yelp
While enjoying walking the streets of Woodstock, it was time for dinner and stopped in to this restaurant. Greeted by the owner very friendly sat us, we started with drinks, ice, cold ipa beer, blueberry margarita with fresh blueberries both were excellent. We then had salads which were excellent as well and then we had cheese burgers that were charcoal broiled with french fries that were crispy and fresh. Prices reasonable, and places clean. Would definitely return.

Virginia R.

Yelp
Allison's is relaxed and friendly - the staff is very attentive. My quesadilla was simply delicious. My husband enjoyed his cheeseburger but said the burger itself was a bit skimpy. That was surprising because in most places he complains that the burgers are too big. I, for one, would go there again, but I'm not a burger eater.

Tony I.

Yelp
I hardly ever leave bad reviews, but this place was such a disappointment. I parked in front of bread alone my first stop usually when I come up here, but was hungry and in the mood for a good breakfast. I searched and found this place with a high rating. I had been here once before when it was a Mexican or Restaurant or something. It was a little past 11 but they were already doing lunch. The butternut squash soup was barely warm, I was about to send it back, to reheat it, but my wife told me not to, she doesn't like to make a fuss. So I just put it aside. The waitress who was very impersonal and not very friendly , didn't ask if anything was wrong she just picked it up. The penne a La vodka was at least hot, but not Al dente. I poured Parmesan and hot peppers on it, and tried to eat it, but could only get through a quarter of the plate. My wife is very polite but she only ate half of her penne arrabiata, and said it was fine. I wasn't thinking about garlic bread, but when the waitress, who is very sour and unfriendly, suggested it, I thought ok would be nice with soup. Problem was she brought it 10 minutes after I started eating the pasta, and had sent back the soup already. The bread was not toasted, I told her to toast it and she came back with it completely dry, and inedible. Might not be fair to compare this food to that of an Italian restaurant, but if you're gonna put pasta on the menu try and learn how to cook it right.

Kris L.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! Definitely made the right choice for celebrating me and my twin sister's birthday. The menu had so many mouth-watering options, the food and drinks were delicious, the Owner herself served us for the night and she was incredibly warm, sweet, and wonderful. She even insisted on bringing us free churros and flan! Very homey and welcoming decor. Great for families.

Maria M.

Yelp
Amazing pasta the best penne vodka ever I ever tried before. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to have Italian food. The any steak strip was delicious to taste

John B.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of dining here for dinner with my boss on 3/11/24. I had the vegetable quesadilla which was delicious and the Bossman had the tuna which was excellent. Great place and great vibes. Finally, an affordable restaurant in Woodstock and... they deliver an extra plus! I look forward to dining here again real soon with the family

My N.

Yelp
This place was great, perfect Ruben. Great burger. Excellent, friendly service. Clean restroom. I spoke to people outside and gave this place a thumbs up .

Yelp
Awesome stop! Fresh Lemonade! Penne a la vodka was amazing. But the black angus burger was scrumptious!!! Fast courteous service, beautiful eating area. We'll be back!

Katherine F.

Yelp
What an absolutely amazing place to eat in Woodstock! We were there in the late afternoon and most of the restaurants were closed but Allison was not. I had some of the best salmon piccata I've ever had and my son's BLT looked amazing, plus they have to be some of the best french fries I have also ever had! Thank you so much to all the staff, you were wonderful too

Yelp
I really can't understand the good reviews for this place. We have been there quite a few times since it opened and the quality of the food and service has steadily gone downhil, from promising to okay to just plain bad. I will admit it's very reasonably priced but the food is like high school cafeteria fare. Totally bland and not always fresh either. In addition the place has zero atmosphere. I used to think the couple that owned the business were trying hard, but that only goes so far. Recently we have gone there twice when they were still not open almost a half hour after their posted opening time. The final straw was on a quiet night when everyone else had left but my wife and me. We sat there with dirty plates in front of us while our waitress stood there doing nothing and her husband was staring at his phone. Avoid this place and patronize one of the actual good restaurants in Woodstock.

Alice H.

Yelp
The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We really enjoyed lunch today and plan to go back for breakfast tomorrow morning. A lovely place to eat with a large variety on the menu Comfortable and lovely for any occasion.

Karín F.

Yelp
Foolishly went there twice. underwhelmed. Both times the service was offensive. Even though it was slow, my food arrived so long after my companions plates that we joked that they were out trying to catch the fish. I'd sprung for the "ultimate bagel" cause it came with dill. When it finally arrived the server reached right across my face & I had to lean back to avoid grazing my nose. There was no dill. The bagel did not come from any of our excellent local bakeries; it was so stale & cardboard-like that I wanted to eat the toppings off it with a fork & knife. Try as I might I was unable to catch the server's eye. She never checked back and I had no silverware or napkin throughout the meal. Ew. My brother's cake inexplicably arrived with a spoon. The server finally returned to clear &, noticing sugar packets in my hand, she actually said, "What are you doing with my sugar?" Taken aback, I explained that it was "for my tea." Which I had ordered. & she had brought. When we left there were no nicities. No "thank you, have a nice day," or "Come again". We definitely won't. We miss Joshua's which predated our 2003 arrival in town & didn't make it through COVID. Hopefully, the next incarnation at that location will be better. Allison's can't possibly last. Nor should it. Do yourself & our town a favor& give this place a hard pass. You'll have a better experience at any place in town. Though the Garden Café & Yum Yum are consistently yummy & they have excellent, professional service. ¡Buen Provecho! ("Bon Appetit!")

Sonia R.

Yelp
The best family working super hard and serving yummy food! Decor is cozy, no matter how busy they try to make space for you and literally exude so much love with all they do!

p m.

Yelp
The people at Allison's seem to care about their customers' experience. Went for brunch on a busy Sunday, and the service was just right, the music and noise level are kept at a relatively low volume (with sound absorbing panels on the ceiling), and everything is super clean. Small vases of fresh flowers show some extra care, and that thoughtfulness carried through to the breakfast we enjoyed. I can recommend the Allison's breakfast special, which is Latin in flavor. Savory, soupy black beans are surrounded by accompanying sides of plantains, avocado, a wedge of queso blanco, a little dish of crema and bread choice. All this is topped with eggs cooked any way! I had perfectly poached eggs and an everything bagel (+.50) to make my late morning feast complete. The coffee was good too. They offer maple syrup for pancakes if you want it. This is not a fancy kind of place, but what we sampled had thought and care, and was done right! It's nice to have a very low key establishment with fair pricing and diverse food choices right in town.

Veronica D.

Yelp
Waitress was nice! food was really good, we're new around the area for a weekend getaway! place is cute & super quiet! I enjoyed my chicken chipotle mayo panini!! my husband loved the chicken & steak fajita! pricey but it's okay, we enjoyed it!

L H.

Yelp
We love Allison's. The staff goes out of their way to offer incredible service and food every time we visit.

Paua S.

Yelp
Three cheers for Allison's Restaurant, the newest addition to the plethora of eating establishments in this tourist town, It is the first reasonably-priced place to open in over a decade, Thank goodness! The Breakfast and lunch menu is extensive. Yesterday my friend had a 2 egg cheese omelette fro $6.95 with toast and home fries which she switched to sweet potato fries, I had a scrumptious avocado toast (4 varieties offered) and the waitress patiently took my customized order. Today a friend had grilled cheese sandwich for $4.50 with a big pickle and very small coleslaw. A few weeks ago a friend had Woodstock's cheapest bagel, lox and cream cheese for $8.95. He loved every bite. The huge dinner menu is Italian and medium priced. Entrees are $15-$22. The young couple who opened Allison's (named after their five year old daughter) deserves to succeed. They work very hard serving and clearing tables, cooking and keeping everything moving smoothly.

Kieran M.

Yelp
Waiter was very nice, but the food was arguably the worst meal I've ever paid for - cafeteria food at best, and no alcohol available either.

Chris G.

Yelp
We had a lovely meal here. The place is bright and relaxed and warmly decorated, the service was excellent and the food was very tasty. And the prices very reasonable. Will definitely eat there again.

Sheetla G.

Yelp
Bland bland bland . Zero flavor in EVERY THING we ordered, salmon, pasta, starters , sides . Everything lacked taste & tasted like boiled hospital food . Price for dinner was crazy too and a whopping 20% gratuity ass already added for 2 people with zero rushed customer service . Won't return .

Barbara B.

Yelp
Very mediocre food. The closest thing I can suggest is that if you enjoy airline food in economy you will be satisfied here. Nothing special, no imagination and no skill. Too bad. I wanted it to be good.

Judy K.

Yelp
Food was excellent! Service was prompt and the atmosohere was very nice. We had the sizzling fajita & lasagna....DELICIOUS! Can't waitvto go back!
