"The more down-to-earth little brother of MICHELIN-starred Alma has its own personality. Chic marble and stylish design give this laid-back restaurant flair. You can drop in any time of day to indulge in a fresh take on familiar flavours. The menu features a variety of dishes that will tempt your taste buds, including gyoza, köfte, pâté en croûte, perfectly done entrecôte with a delicious veal jus, rum baba and more. The skilfully prepared and generously flavoured dishes never fail to impress. Curated by Malou Hagenaars, the wine list always includes some exciting finds. Be sure to make your reservation in good time to avoid disappointment!" - Michelin Inspector

Alma

"Alma, established in the historic De Swaen, provides the perfect setting for fine dining. The terrace overlooking the Lind is faultless. Malou will tempt you with her range of Dutch (among others) wines, while veteran chef Wouter rustles up food sodden with creativity and flawless execution. Subtly authentic, the chef is not afraid to adopt a playful culinary approach." - Michelin Inspector

Three new restaurants receive Two Stars in the MICHELIN Guide Netherlands 2022

"In Oisterwijk, gastronomic finesse and contemporary twists come with very beautiful food and wine pairings, elevated by sommelier Malou Hagenaars—who prefers German wines, loves to help diners discover new bottles, and pinpoints freshness, fullness and intensity to elegantly accompany chef Van Laarhoven’s dishes." - Le Guide MICHELIN

I’m at a loss for words to describe my experience at Alma - but I think it is my best dining experience I’ve had so far. we came here on a quiet Thursday evening and were served with utmost care and attention to detail. It wasn’t crowded, so our hosts suggested we start the evening at the terrace and then move indoors while the air cooled. The food was excellent, wine pairing and recommendations were impressive at every step of the way. Yes, it is pricey but for the quality of ingredients and artfulness with the flavours and presentation I’d say it’s worth the price tag. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or if you want to spoil yourself!

One of the best places I’ve had dinner with my husband. Lovely environment, excellent service and attention and sublime dishes. A very wide range of wines. A perfect place to celebrate with your partner! We’ll come back soon unquestionably.

Definitely one of Oisterwijk’s gems! Really love this restaurant, very nice service and amazing dishes. Make sure to book ahead, especially during weekends. When the weather is good, a table at the terrace is recommended! Portions are small, but the quality is very good. I love the poached oysters and the fish dishes are also very good. Menu changes regularly. Alma’s ground floor restaurant is more bistro like. And the top floor restaurant is fine dining. I had lunch several times and it was always good!

What a joy of dining at this place. The food and wine selection is superb. The restaurant has a very tasteful design and a relaxed atmosphere. They have a balcony you can also use for dining which is perfect when the weather is hot. Staff very, very helpful and friendly. So take the surprise menu for sure, and I'll bet you, you will be surprised!

Definitely enjoyed a 5-course dinner with wine pairing. The quality of ingredients were superb. Chef’s cooking skills reflected on the plate visually and tastefully. For me the surprise of the night was deserts.. They were breathtaking! I think one star is on the way for Alma.

Went for the Alma Easy lunch experience. This is my 7th time dining at Alma, so the general flavors and quality are familiar to me. Overall I am very satisfied with the Easy menu. The dishes have a sophistication level that is between upstairs and downstairs, exactly as advertised. You see the familiar flavors from Alma Bodega (such as ajoblanco as a base for a main ingredient, as well as katsuoboshi as a garnish), as well as the techniques and finishing level of the fine dining counterpart. There is a good balance of creativity and approachability. A few small critiques: 1. The amuse-bouche was too heavy and greasy. Nobody needs a deep-fried bread ball before having a sip of water. Amuse should be something refreshing the light. And it totally ruined my taste buds that I couldn't enjoy my champagne. 2. The dishes could use a bit more vegetables. Either a a garnish or flavor base. It would provide a more interesting presentation (so that not everything is brown), as well as complex flavors. 3. Lastly, this is my long-time gripe with Alma. The sparkling water is too weak. It tastes like sparking water that has been sitting in the glass for half a day. Not completely flat but not exciting either. Please upgrade your Quokker/Sodastream machine, or buy some plain old Spa Rood.
