Stopped here which was part of the gas station and convenience store. All kinds of standard flavored cheese, cheese curds and spreads. Costs more but I’m sure when we taste it at home it will outshine anything from the grocery store.

They don’t offer custom boxes of any kind and were fairly rude. I’ve been to tons of cheese shops and they’re normally fantastic experiences but these girls in this place are rude. Proceed to talk shit about the customers in front of them. Skip this one and try the one in Green Bay Wisconsin much better service there

It’s a cheese store attached to the gas station, not really the creamery. That’s ok, just not 5 stars. I like the cheese I bought but they don’t taste so fresh (Mediterranean flavored cheese curds). I did buy the habanero ghost pepper cheese (proper spicy), horseradish Monterey Jack, and you get a “free” 8oz longhorn co-jack if you spend $20. All quite tasty and I like to sample local cheeses.

Google
This was a pleasant surprise! The workers were helpful. The samples were yummy and definitely convinced us to make a purchase. We got snack boxes to eat on the road and cheese for home.

Google
Super nice even had a tray of fresh cheese curds that had different sprinkles that you could’ve chose and everything else had a wide variety of meats cheeses spreads all of it and the staff was friendly. The atmosphere is good. Plenty of parking easy on and off the freeway, couldn’t ask for much more.

Google
My wife and I love cheese & had our doubts about a cheese shop attached to a gas station along a freeway. Surprise! Their sharp cheddar was the best we've had in taste and texture. The other cheese varieties were also excellent. Too bad it's so far away from our home.

Stopped in for a drink and a hot sandwich, have never been before, didn't realize exactly what it was. Next time I will try some of their amazing dairy goods. Can't wait!

Google
Amazing cheese selection. Brilliant service. Pretty much anything I've had here has been brilliant. Get some curds, a gift box, a wheel of cheese. It's a wee hidden gem hidden inside of a fuel station. Clean washrooms, a sonic drive through and the normal convenience store items. I really liked the cheese store.

Yelp
Fun sales lady Jean who was very helpful and knowledgeable Great variety of cheese Part of a huge gas station and other foods just off the interstate Clean great lighting Bathrooms of the service stationn part could all use work on toilet lids and door locks of stalls

Yelp
Thank you for your suggestions. The cheese and beef sticks have been amazing. I am still enjoying the squeaky cheese we got. Something to try.

Yelp
We visited the new location last weekend and they have a great selection of cheeses and lots of smoked cheese options as well. It was a nice Sunday visit.

Yelp
The woman working is super awesome, she is from Australia, stop by and say HI! The cheese was very interesting and good for the most part. Just remember to buy a cooler if you are traveling (we all are). The pie in the store next door is to die for! I was skeptical...but omg! Try one of each flavor because I can't tell you what the best one was.

Yelp
The cheese is delicious! I had never tried cheese curds before and they did not disappoint! There was a great selection of flavors. Also, the store was very clean! Overall, a satisfied customer!

Yelp
I'm glad I don't live in Alma because I would be here several times per week. So darn good. Their flavored cheese curds are just yummy; highly recommend the dill and Mediterranean flavored cheese. Also purchased some spreads. Can't get enough of the Apple Butter. Oh yea!!!!! Can't wait to return.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and check these guys out, they just opened a retail store at the Plaza of the Flint Hills, amazing high quality cheeses and more!

Yelp
We drive I-70 about once per year on our way to Colorado Springs. I have seen the Alma Creamery sign many times and being a lover of good Colby cheese have often thought about stopping. This time due to my screw-up at Topeka, we ended up on surface roads that took us right through Alma, so we had no excuse for not stopping. Now we have another excuse. They don't make good Colby cheese. We entered the small retail outlet at the creamery and it only took one taste of the Colby sample to know we could add another disappointment to the list. This was unspeakably bad. We bought a half-round of longhorn co-jack to be polite. The co-jack was so wet it could not be shredded. In addition to the bad taste, they are selling water. Cheddar is easy to find but good Colby is not. I keep buying it and trying it and am 99.9% disappointed. Modern production yields a wet, gooey, sour, cheddary glob with no visible curd. Colby should not be sour and cheddary. Now we can drive I-70 past Alma with no urge to stop.

Yelp
Very disappointed that 15 minutes before posted close time the doors were locked. The person working looked up when I tried to open the doors and then looked away. What is the point of saying your Friday hours are until 8 if you lock the doors and close everything up at 7:45? I will not bother stopping again.

Yelp
Don't follow your phone navigation--just follow the signs to get there. It's small but quaint and friendly. Nothing fancy, just quality, local cheeses and cute sausages, sauces, etc. This town is so cute! We stopped for gas and it was full service. The man was so sweet. We tipped him and he thanked us twice in 10 seconds. We also loved the antique store. It never ends! Anyways, the creamery had samples and the woman working was very sweet and helpful. The cheese was good. She called the curds 'squeaky cheese'. I'm from Wisconsin so I know good cheese, and this was pretty good! We read a post of a woman disappointed they didn't have ice cream. I mentioned it to the lady and she offered me her Schwann Ice Cream--see, they're so sweet. Their signs say Cheese, that's it--don't assume anything else. Cute little stop and town, if you've got the time!!

Yelp
We stopped by in Alma for gas and took a little detour for some cheese. So glad we did! We bought their dil flavored cheese curds for a snack on the road and their smoked pepper cheddar cheese along with few fun preserves. Everything was extra tasty and worth the visit.

Yelp
As an Alma native, I was pretty much raised on Alma cheese curds! I've lived out of state for the past 11 years, but I always make a point to stop in when in town to pick up some cheese to take home. Of course, the cheese curds are my favorite, but they do sell other varieties and everything is good. If you're in the area, make a point to stop in!

Yelp
We made a special trip to stop in at the creamery as we have never been there before. We were pleasantly surprised and found the cheese samples delicious. The sales lady at the counter was very accommodating and pleasant and sweet. We were excited to purchase a variety of the cheeses to take on the road with us. Would definitely make a trip back there again when in the area.

Yelp
We stopped here after leaving the Oz Winery to pick up some cheese curds. We brought them back in our carry-on and they were fantastic!! A definite stop for the traveler or local passerby-er...

Yelp
Disappointed. Probably not their fault, but I expected a wide variety of cheeses. I guess I don't comprehend the intricacies of cheese-making.

Yelp
Worth a trip off I-70. I love CHEESE! They have samples of cheese & sausage. They also sell sauerkraut and various sauces, apple butters and the like. They don't have public restrooms but there is a bar nearby or a Phillips 66 in town that has cheaper gas prices than the ones in the area on I-70. I bought $63 worth of cheese. I'm bringing back gifts for the cat and house sitter. Some of the cheese is shaped like Kansas! Very friendly staff and educational tourism brochures to take with you. This is an interesting area and only 3 miles off the beaten path. Stops like this are what makes road trips fun.

Yelp
I thought they'd have ice cream. I don't know how I got that impression, but they sure did not. Cheese. Good cheese, really, really expensive, made-there at the creamery cheese, but just cheese and some cured meat sticks. Had few samples, and a lot of tourist info. The public area was itsy-bitsy and people were sardine-packed in there. Couldn't pause, savor, and experience the flavor of what you were tasting to determine if it really was something you wanted to spend your hard-earned money on. It was a madhouse. No tours, no person standing around explaining what their samples were of (not that there was room for such nonsense.) I honestly was just not impressed and would rather purchase their product in my local supermarket.

Yelp
I have heard about the Alma Cheese Factory for a long time. Decided today on our way to to Kansas City to stop by and see the operation. The plant itself is very unassuming but in the lobby area they have pictures of how they make all the different types of cheeses and it is very educational. Of course I bought a sample of their famous cheese curds which is 100% natural cheddar. They are as good as advertised. The city of Alma is known for its native Stone and there are several old buildings that are still functional. If you're by this way I would encourage you to stop and take a look.

Yelp
Grew up in Alma during the 70's, and had plenty of prior knowledge before coming through again 35 years later. Still some great cheese. If you're looking for a tourist stop...that's a silly assumption. It's a business, yo. Get in, get cheese, get out. It's been that way for decades. Got me some with bacon...and the cheese curds too. Yummy for us. Texas will be a better place when this cheese crosses the border. Teens running the counter couldn't have cared less that we were there. That's okay...we got what we travelled a long ways for. Thanks for that. Oh yeah...no ice cream. LOL

Yelp
Cute place with on-site fresh made cheeses. Many unique varieties, such as bacon Jack and smoked Colby. Cheese is delicious with samples available. Also a variety of other food items available like salsas, pickles, summer sausage, etc. Tiny shop but there was not many people there so no problem at all.

Cheri B.

Yelp
Not a cafe - not a resturant - just a creamery with some dynamite cheese. Try the smoked monterey jack, light hickery and creamy cheese. Got the bacon colby too. TASTY! I had never heard of this "famous" cheese but it was worth finding and quite a nice local food find. Now if only I lived closer than 6 hours away. BUt they SHIP so all is good.
