The Best Salads In Philadelphia Right Now

"Marco's Crazy Mango Salad  This dish at Alma Del Mar in Bella Vista hits the sweet spot between a fruit salad and a green one. And since the place opens at 8am, you can eat it for breakfast with your friends or even for dinner when the kitchen throws lump crab into the mix. We're talking about what's ostensibly a kaleidoscope in a bowl, with bright orange grilled mango slices, mixed greens, avocado slices, red bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes. The citrusy mango dressing makes this salad one of the best ways to eat fruit in Philadelphia, third only to raw and water ice." - candis mclean, alison kessler

The 20 Best Restaurant Patios In Philadelphia

"When Queer Eye brought its makeover series to Philly years ago, we got the gift of Alma Del Mar—full of colorful patio furniture and delicious Mexican food. This South Philly spot has a seafood-heavy brunch menu that’s solid across the board. You’ll be satisfied with the shrimp, whiting, scallops, and grits, or the salmon burger, but you should really go for the lobster benedict. It’s covered in a tangy Old Bay hollandaise that's as bright as the yellow seats on their patio. Sit under a few massive umbrellas with a taco or two and then stroll around the Italian Market." - candis mclean, alison kessler

The best legit Mexican breakfast I’ve had in a long time! We found this little gem while visiting Philly from Texas. The green chilaquiles with chicken and eggs? Straight 10/10. And don’t even get me started on the café de olla… I’ll take two to go, please! 🤣

Stopped by during the week. We ordered guacamole and shrimp ceviche for starters. Was fresh and tasty. We also ordered tacos de bistec and al pastor. They are made with homemade tortillas. Aguas frescas were good as well. Would recommend if you’re in the area. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The best Mexican restaurant on the East coast! The food is really authentic, prices are fair and the portions are more than good. I'm definitely coming back every time I go to Philly. La atención fue increíble. Gracias por tener esta joya en medio de la ciudad!

Really good food. The michelada with shrimp and cucumber is the best. Don’t forget to bring your own beer.

I got the grilled shrimp with veggies and rice. , my friend got the chicken burritos with salsa with rice and refried beans. We ate every bite.. Guacamole was delicious and freshly made there. Yelp
This is the real deal. The flavors are spot on. The mole was right up there with the best in the city. It's a small casual family run place that fits perfectly in the neighborhood. Service is friendly and accommodating. I'll be back for the weekend barbacoa and tamales.
