Alma Fonda Fina is another outstanding restaurant chef Ramon Velazquez has opened up in the Montecito area. A well deserved Michelin Gourmand winner and same owner as Corazon.
This beautiful restaurant is quaint and cozy. I love the seating and clean yet chic design.
On my visit, we were a party of 3 and kindly seated by Reece who tended to us throughout our dining experience. He was great at giving recommendations and answering questions we had about the menu.
For cocktails, I chose the Agualmente. Made with Sabe Blanco, avocado, tomatillo, lime and chili ash. Strange combo of ingredients, but I had to try it. First sip was a wow factor! The flavor of tomatillo is there, but not overpowering. This drink is not only beautiful with the vibrant green color, but it was enjoyable. Trust me order it.
The lavanderia topped with a lavender infused foam was another drink that I enjoyed. The presentation was so pretty! Soapy looking bubbles were a show stopper. The Barbarella is another unique cocktail mixed with red bell pepper and persimmon tomato. A very light and refreshing cocktail that my friend ordered. I had a sip and it was good!
For food, we shared a variety of things on the menu, which is the way to go. We started with chef Ramon's famous ceviche cuixmala. A very light and refreshing ceviche made with halibut and a gorgeous presentation. I loved the tangy passion fruit seeds! It really added something different than a regular ceviche.
The tuna Tartar was another starter that literally melted in my mouth and was perfectly presented. This is made with bluefin tuna.
I highly recommend trying the tacos Suadero!
The Wagyu brisket is tender and full of flavor. It almost reminded me of chicharon. I'm drooling just thinking about it.
If you come here with a few people in your party who love seafood, then you must try the Branzino. The moment it arrived at our table my mouth dropped. The presentation was amazing, the taste was amazing and overall this was my favorite.
If you have room for dessert, then try the arroz con leche. I loved how subtly sweet it was, making this very enjoyable.
My compliments to chef Alan, who was working his magic throughout the night serving up some amazing dishes.
I can't wait to come back here to try their brunch menu. There's so much more to say, but my review is already lengthy enough. Bottom line, bookmark this place! You won't be disappointed.
