Food was excellent and service. Small town bar with food. Awesome Ellsworth cheese curds, homemade french onion soup and my steak bites were cooked perfect and tender. Definitely will stop again when passing through town.

Cafe was excellent. The bar was horrible. Bartender was so rude & unfriendly. He made eye contact several times while i was trying to get a drink But would not even acknowledge me. Then others walked in the bar that appeared to be people he knew & waited on them.It was the poorest service from a bartender I have ever had in my life……he should be fired in my opinion.

Lived in the area for most my life and haven’t visited here enough! Really neat piece of history. The dining area is cute and tidy, the bar is cozy with TVs, and there’s a cute cafe tucked inside as well. Atmosphere is lovely and the servers are nice. Glad we came for a visit!

Surprisingly good burger. Just about the only place open in the off-season. Great service. Will stop here again.

Google
Made the trip just finding somewhere to eat when traveling though. Staff is very friendly. There is a separate restaurant and bar area, which is a plus. The food......we had the walleye dinner, chicken strips, cheese curds, and jumbo shrimp. Can't say one negative thing about any of it. The coleslaw or salad choice I liked. And the side salad was so good. Would definitely stop again.

All the dressings were gross. The tartar sauce was very liquidity and tasted spoiled to me. The thousand island had suspicious clumps and chunks and tasted rotten also! The ketchup tasted so weird! I dont know what the deal is here but the condiments need to be refreshed. The pan walleye was flavorless and soggy. Didn’t eat much of what I ordered. The place is also very quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Yelp
We traveled to Alma on our yearly trek to look at fall leaves. We stopped and had lunch at the Alma Hotel Cafe. It was ok. I got their special of Hot Beef sandwich and my husband got the grilled ham and cheese. The food was ok and the service was good.

Yelp
I visit Alma once a year & the last 2 years the food & service in the dining area are fantastic but the bartender on the bar side should be fired. He is very rude & will walk right past you & not even acknowledge you are there but when someone he knows walks in they are tended to immediately. This has happened several years in a row with the same bartender, therefore I will not be stopping at this place a gain. He obviously only caters to local. It was a very uncomfortable feeling & made me feel like I was unwanted in the establishment.

Yelp
There is very poor service, I can hear someone yelling at the waitresses for a simple mistake. When being waited on I was given a lot of attitude and they were very rude to me as a customer. My food was cold, and when I received it the plate was dirty, not from my food just un washed.

Yelp
We had lunch at the restaurant. The food was great and the service was awesome. I had a the Alma burger. It had grilled onions, mushroom and bacon.

Yelp
The Alma Hotel restaurant was the scene of my visit last night. I was there late after a long day on the road and behind the camera but the staff welcomed me into the dining room like it was 5:30 and not 8:30. It became evident this is a family affair with Mom in the kitchen and the kids waiting tables. Anna was very attentive although a little unsure of offerings from the bar. At her tender age, no surprise. I ordered the signature fish fry, I was offered vinegar or creamy coleslaw and a wide variety of potatoes. Sorry, 414s, no potato pancakes here. I ordered the two piece cod serving (you can opt for three.) I found the cod to be flaky, juicy and very tasty. I'm particularly enamored by their costing, flavorful and done to my liking. I don't get to Alma very often (2nd time in 10 years) but I'd come back here if I did go try their Broasted Chicken, I hear it's very good!

Yelp
Interesting historical establishment. Nothing fancy with regard to ambience in the dining area, but the pan-fried walleye is second to none!

Yelp
Great place, haven't been there in years but it was always a amazing time! Totally look forward to going back after the COVID thing is over

Yelp
The fried cod is just OK, a little dry & devoid of seasoning. The roll was made of bread. The "creamy" coleslaw wasn't. The baked potato was a potato that was baked. The cake was the driest cake I've ever put in my mouth. It was food, and it was filling, so 2 stars. This was disappointing after a long day on the road.

Yelp
What a great find in a small town. Beautiful surroundings with excellent food. I had pan-fried walleye which was sooo good. The other 3 in our group had broasted chicken which was moist, tender, & delicious. A quaint restaurant & bar which will be around for a vrry long time. Kudos to the owners & awesome servers.

Yelp
Absolutely recommend this establishment! Delish food and a very warm and welcoming staff! I can barely wait for their Friday fish fry!

Yelp
We were greeted quite well. I was with an exchange student who doesn't have great English skills so I had to help him read the menu. We took a while to order. The waitress seemed not to have a problem. Then she asked him if he wanted toast and he didn't know what that was so we declined. After she left I explained what it was and he changed his mind that he did (when he knew it was). I went to the kitchen doors and heard the waitress Norma talking to the chef teasing the exchange student about how he needed my help with the menu. after I ordered the toast for him she also commented 'now he knows what toast is and he wants white bread'. I've called to talk to the manager/owner regarding this with no response so I'm posting here.

Yelp
Good service. Not the restaurant it was in it's hey-day but food it still quite good and reasonably priced. I had pan fried walleye which was perfectly done and was a nice size fish.

Yelp
This a review of the cafe in the Alma Hotel. The bar and a hotel are not covered in this review.. The cafe is old but clean. Looks like out of the 1940s or 1950s. Breakfast menu was traditional for Wisconsin. The prices were somewhat on the low side for rural Wisconsin. Both the selections my wife and I had were acceptable as to portion size and taste. The kitchen service seemed somewhat slow but in the acceptable range. Do NOT park on the stub road beside the hotel. Park on the main road, Hwy 35. While it is legal to park on the stub road it is very hard to get out.
