The Alma Hotel restaurant was the scene of my visit last night. I was there late after a long day on the road and behind the camera but the staff welcomed me into the dining room like it was 5:30 and not 8:30.
It became evident this is a family affair with Mom in the kitchen and the kids waiting tables. Anna was very attentive although a little unsure of offerings from the bar. At her tender age, no surprise.
I ordered the signature fish fry, I was offered vinegar or creamy coleslaw and a wide variety of potatoes. Sorry, 414s, no potato pancakes here. I ordered the two piece cod serving (you can opt for three.) I found the cod to be flaky, juicy and very tasty. I'm particularly enamored by their costing, flavorful and done to my liking.
I don't get to Alma very often (2nd time in 10 years) but I'd come back here if I did go try their Broasted Chicken, I hear it's very good!
