Google
Great views and decent food. Place is clean and servers are friendly. The lobster shop next door to the restaurant was really impressive and lots to choose from.

Google
Great little spot for dinner and the prices were fantastic. One pound lobster $36. We had the three pound lobster dinner with roll and a side $57. Massive.

Food was delicious and fresh. The whole family enjoyed the atmosphere. Our waiter Amy was very friendly. We will be coming again to this restaurant whenever we are in the area

Google
It took a while to get service and I was getting antsy but found out that they’re computers crashed and honestly, the lobster roll was worth the wait. Dani provided excellent service!! Fist pump to her!

Google
Simple and delicious menu from a restaurant that has their own fishing boats. Fried scallops and clams were as good as they can be. I look forward to clams every time I get back to NB, and these were exactly what I hoped for. We started with mussels; steamed in their own juices, served with drawn butter. These were next level good. We took home 4 freezer packs of scallops and one of lobster meat. Gently thawed some of each yesterday, and both are wonderful.

Biggest lobster I’ve ever eaten in my entire life, fair prices, and amazing staff, and menu options

Yelp
On a very rainy day, my friend and I went to the Alma Lobster Shop. Not only do they sell lobster and other seafood fresh, cooked, but they also have a sit down restaurant. My friend ordered their lobster roll dinner. The roll had a lot of lobster pieces and wasn't heavy on the mayonnaise. My friend ordered another one for dinner but as take out, and the order came very quickly. I decided to order their lobster dinner. They provide the tools for you, and the servers will always provide suggestions on ways to get to the lobster meat easily. They also have a mural on their wall with instructions on how to eat a whole lobster. Thr lobster was really good and it was very fresh. Definitely come back here for more lobster and lobster rolls.

Yelp
Good food. Awful service. The good: Lobster Roll had good fresh meat. Fried clams were well prepared. The bad: sat at a table and waited more than 10min for a server. Eventually flagged one down and ordered. Waited over 40 minutes for our order. During the wait we watched them seat, take the orders, bring the food out, and take the payment from several patrons. Waited an equally absurd amount of time to pay. Do yourself a favor order to go.

Yelp
Lobster roll and chowder. Yum! Rain scared off a lot of people but, nice glass/acrylic wall facing the water let in the view and kept out the wind. Roofing and heaters kept it comfortable. Service was attentive.

Daniel K.

Yelp
A spikey experience. Atmosphere is simple, no frills outdoor seating. Service is a mess, and overcharged on bill. Food was good but not great. BYO. Decent kid options. Not a bad choice but I might try another option in category, if in area.

Yelp
My wife ordered a 2-pound lobster and was given a choice of "hot or cold" -- she asked for hot, but what arrived was a pre-cooked, stone cold lobster. When told, the waitress offered a curt apology but nothing else. I find that pretty inexcusable in a place that calls itself a "lobster shop". "Captain's choice" was the usual collection of fried seafood, priced rather high in my opinion ($51 Canadian). Lots of people wanted a picture of their kids standing in front of the giant lobster sculpture out front, which was moderately amusing. Seemed like a pretty popular place, but we were not impressed.

Yelp
Nice spot to enjoy seafood at in pretty little Alma. Service and wait time was excellent. Fish, crackers, and scallops were very good. Doggy clams not so much. Loads of delicious French fries. Worth going to.

Mitchell T.

Yelp
Stayed a night in Alma on a couples trip passing through to PEI. Had the Lobster roll, chowder, and the smoked salmon (smoked daily). After spending 48 hours in PEI, eating countless mussels, oysters, chowders, etc., the smoked salmon was the single best piece of food consumed the entire trip. Worth going out of your way to try it, and super reasonably priced. Chowder was also 10/10. Nice and thick. Lobster roll 7.5/10. (PS: Get the iced tea, its awesome).

Yelp
Food was amazing highly recommend and if your heading to see hopewell I recommend going to hopewell in the morning then heading here to eat and then back to hopewell at 4 to walk the sea floor!!!!

Hairy L.

Yelp
Had enough lobsters and seafood already so this really hits the spot. Must add the house vinegar and the egg to the garlic rice.

Kristen W.

Yelp
Loved this place! I wanted to try everything, you pick your own lobster and they cook it the way you want them to. You can get it cold or hot with a butter sauce. It taste much better cold as the hot one can get over cooked. And the clams and oysters deep fried were amazing. They also smoke their own salmon, so we ordered that as an appetizer and it came with crackers. The servers were friendly and the atmosphere was like a small family run shop. There are lots of tables and water view picnic benches to eat at.

Gary J.

Yelp
The food was over done (chewy), breaded and a bit greasy. We ordered it all and the portions were generous, but it just wasn't as fresh as I wanted.

Madelon H.

Yelp
We stopped at this roadside place on the bay of Fundy and didn't know what to expect. The service was nice, the food was wonderful, and the view was unbeatable.

Danielle C.

Yelp
The seafood chowder was good. It had nice chunks of lobster, fish and scallops and tasted homemade and had the consistency of potato soup. The lobster roll was good but not the way I thought it would be so I was little disappointed. They served it on a butter friend bun but the lobster was cold and in a mayo type sauce. My partner did not eat his as he thought it would be hot and buttery like I had thought but I'm not as picky as him so I ate it. I'd get the chowder again but I wouldn't come here for the lobster roll. I guess they don't serve it the same way as they do in PEI.

Heather S.

Yelp
Great little find on our way from Hopewell Rocks to St. Andrews by the sea. We ordered lobster chowder scallops. All were excellent. The chowder was rich and full of lobster and other seafood. The lobster roll was a full 1/4 pound of meat on a delicious buttered roll. The scallops were maple bacon and done very well - tender and delicious. They also have a ton of kids options - for little ones that aren't into lobster ... yet :) Pro tip - they don't have a liquor licence but they told us we could just bring our own and drink it with our dinner on the patio. So perfect!! We will definitely be back!

Wes P.

Yelp
My wife and I had lunch here and enjoyed it so much that we came back to do takeout for dinner. The picnic tables in the back are overlooking the beach. Very laid back and the seafood is fresh and fantastic.

Sarah C.

Yelp
I was so very disappointed and dissatisfied. After reading the good reviews I was expecting so much more and everything fell short. We are local to the Bay of Fundy so VERY accustomed to eating Lobster and what it should taste like (and I'm not even picky, it's my favourite food!). Firstly, they were out of steamed mussels, clams, cod, and snow crab. They said they would have more this evening, fine, at least they would be fresh. So we settled for 2 Lobster dinners. My partner inquired about the macaroni salad as she has an allergy to carrots and the response was "I don't think so, but we dont make it here". Sad day. Even if it was local I would have been happier. Our food arrived quickly. The minute I cracked open the first claw you could tell the lobster was not 1 and 1/2 lb as advertised. It looked small on the outside and then the meat took up maybe 1/3-1/2 of the shell size. The smell was off, not fresh smelling. I tasted it and it was so salty both my partner and I had a difficult time getting through our meal. As if each piece was coated in table salt. Horrible. Remember, I am used to Atlantic seafood and lobster is my favorite food. It was not eatable. I have never said that about lobster before, ever. The sides were equally as disappointing. My partner opted for garlic butter. This was raw garlic tossed into drawn butter. The butter did not taste of garlic unless you had the misfortune of getting a raw clump in your mouth that was potently acrid. The corn was shriveled and soggy, bending at the middle as if reheated after being stored/refrigerated. The rolls appeared homemade but were stale and crumbly. All in all, money aside, I could not eat here again. Maybe it was a bad day, as there are other great reviews. This experience was SO bad that we wouldn't even be tempted to try it again. Sigh. Disappointed is an understatement

Yelp
What a gem!!! Looking forward to next years visit. Food, team members and price all great!!

Yelp
Best lobster I had during my week trip across the east coast! It has a great covered patio, I went on a cold rainy day but it was surprisingly warm in their patio. and they have a cute little hand pump hand washing station. Walk to the back to the bathrooms you get to see many many lobster crates getting ready to be shipped. Service wasn't exceptional but it was fine. Food comes served on a plastic tray and you sit on picnic tables. its a no frills kind of place. There are a good number of other tourists though Great price for $25-$30 you get a whole 1.5 lb lobster, half a cob of corn, a large dinner bun and a choice of the side. GET THE SMOKED SALMON SIDE! its not the bright pink thinly sliced ones, it is a large chunk of meaty salmon filet, lots of smokey salty flavour it was amazing! I could have eaten that by itself and be happy. The lobster was slightly warmed but not overcooked, and it was meaty. My friend got their snow crab legs, it was a big portion and had lots of salty sea flavour again it was amazing. The seafood felt fresh there and would definitely come back again!

Yelp
Location: Literally, right by the ocean. You can't ask for better than that. The place: It's a combination of shop and restaurant except you can't eat indoors. The back is stacked with boxes that presumably contain lobster(s) and other sea food - totally surprised me when I went to the bathroom and walked into what felt like a freezer! But it was pretty cool to see the giant 'bath' - I resisted the urge to go and see if there were any live lobster in there. The goods: I had the chowder and it was delicious and meaty! I had ordered a side of macaroni salad because I thought the chowder wouldn't satisfy me but I was wrong. I was full before I finished it. The salad was way too creamy for me, and bright orange - I'm not sure what kind of dressing was used... it was OK but very sweet. Service: OK Price point: A little on the high end for chowder - I think it was about $13.

Yelp
We ordered a big lobster with big pincers, shrimp pasta and potato salad. The lobster is perfect! The ease with which we removed the meat suggests real freshness. The shrimp (on pasta) is real fresh too. The pasta part is a bit bland though, in spite of the oiliness. Love the garlic butter dip: sinfully oily but it really enhanced the tastes of everything we dipped in it, lobster & bread etc. Every bit as good as the lobster, the scenery rocks! We were here around 3pm low tide, mid July, beautiful weather, we'd be crazy if we ate in the shop. The sunshine and sea breeze made everything taste better.

Victoria H.

Yelp
The lobster here is amazing!!! The food tasted even better outside on a picnic table by the ocean with the sounds and smells of the waves crashing on the beach. The added touch of an outdoor hand washing station was very nice as well. I would highly recommend stopping by this place, even if it was just to see all the lobsters in the tanks in the back of the store.

Amy L.

Yelp
We stopped here for dinner after our long hike through Fundy National Park. We split the lobster dinner and oh my gosh it was delicious!!! The food was soooooo fresh and delicious. The seating was all outdoor (some was under a tent and others right outside next to the water). Lobster dinner came with a 1.5 lb lobster, mussels, clams, corn, bread, coleslaw and smoked salmon. I think altogether it was about $50 ish? There was a choice of regular butter, lemon butter or garlic butter and we got the garlic one. Everything was so good and I would definitely come here again. If you walk through the back where the washroom is you can see their tanks of lobster. They even let me hold a 10 lb lobster to take a picture! Haha! You can buy cooked and uncooked lobster here too to bring back home. Definitely recommend! The only downside is all the flies around you while you're eating outside...but totally worth it!

Kevin G.

Yelp
As a native New Englander, I am fussy about seafood. The fish and chips, as well as the fish tacos, were some of the best haddock I have tasted, so fresh with the perfect amount of breading. The fries were hot and well cooked. Prices were reasonable. I was able to go across the street to the brewery and get a beer as Alma Seafood is a BYOB restaurant. Beautiful bay views, friendly staff and a gorgeous sunny day made for a perfect meal.

Jemmie W.

Yelp
We were on a 5,700 mile roadtrip thru the Canadian Maritimes, Maine, etc. We ate seafood and lobster in many of these locations. Hands down this was the best lobster and seafood anywhere on our trip. The lobster was fresh and tasty and cost a lot less than in Nova Scotia and Maine restaurants. The smoked salmon was so good we bought some more for the road before we left. The maple scallops, chowder, and everything else were amazing. And, again, everything cost less than elsewhere on our trip - much less.

Soyeb E.

Yelp
Went to visit this place since it was recommended by the people at Hopewell Rock and was very satisfied with the choice! Pros -Service was great. The folk were very friendly. -Amazing food. The lobster was fresh and tasty. I recommend trying out the pasta they have. We ordered scallop pasta, lobster pasta, and salmon pasta and all of us left happy. -The area behind the restaurant is great for exploring, taking pics, and killing time while waiting for your food. -Prices are pretty cheap. Cons -The dining locations are only outside. Wasn't a problem for us but eating outside might not be liked by everyone. Also, if it's raining not sure where you can eat lol. -Wish the pasta servings were a bit bigger! Tasted delicious but finished quickly. Alma is pretty much a tourist city filled to the brim with restaurants, and Alma lobster shop is a perfect choice among all the competition. Also, if you enter the red door towards the washrooms you can see how the process everything. Very cool.

Rob W.

Yelp
We stopped in after kayaking and exploring the area. We both had the 1 1/4 lb lobster special. I asked if it came with anything else. Just butter (5 different varieties). Frankly, that's all you need. We both added the potato salad which was homemade and delicious. We basically inhaled the lobster. It was damn good.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
My family and I got lost 5 years ago and stumbled upon lobster heaven at the Alma Lobster shop. We were back in the area again and knew it was a must-stop place. They have specialize in lobsters (both cooked and uncooked) but they have scallops and fish as well. Market price is listed on a chalkboard but all the weighed prices are written on the lobster claw. Everything is fresh, local and soooo delicious. We like buying the cooked ones and eating right on the picnic tables outside. They'll provide you with all the utensils and even offer to crack it for you (if you're a lazy butt). They also offer garlic butter and various other sauces for free. Mmmm. If you're not into lobster... I guess you can enjoy the souvenirs they have. (Tip! You're allowed picking up the lobsters (even the massive ones!) for photos. But remember, you break you buy)

Anh T.

Yelp
We were on our way to PEI but we went out of our way to drive for some lobster based on the reviews I read. We ordered the lobster meal, razor clams, mussels, and lobster roll. The lobster was just okay; it was cold and very salty (definitely not something I would drive here for). The smoked salmon made in house was very good. The highlight of the meal was mussels and razor clams; those were quite good. The lobster roll was too salty. The meal was just okay for us.

Larissa L.

Yelp
We had the lobster roll + chowder combo and they were very very good. Lots of lobster meat in both. Staff very friendly. Very nice area to sit outside.

Carol Z.

Yelp
We ate here 2 nights in a rowthe service was excellent. We had lobster both nights and it was delicious. I had the lobster roll and it was all meat no filler little mayo. The roll was delicious. The atmosphere was really nice.

Shareen H.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch prior to a hike based on the great reviews on Yelp! Staff were friendly - cutest doggie bouncing around the lobster traps outside! Had the lobster rolls which I found were really salty. True to other reviewers, not a lot of fluff (a lot of lobster meat) but the saltiness of the mixture was a bit too much. Initially I thought it was because of the salt water from the ocean but, I had bought lobsters off a fishing boat in Cape Breton (Ingonish, for $7/lbs) and steamed them...was not salty at all (WAS DELICIOUS). We stopped in here twice...the first time the lobster was $9.49/lbs (first week of June) and about a week later, the price jumped to $10.49/lbs.

C. T.

Yelp
Nothing beats getting lobster fresh! Pick one of the ones they just broiled. Add an order of scallops and dig in! (don't get the lobsters warmed, they re-boil it so it loses flavour). You can BYOB as well

Brian P.

Yelp
Its just ok. We brought home chowder. They have a nice gift shop and seem to do a booming mail out business. I felt it was expensive but it is a tourist location . It was clean and the chowder was good. They had a huge huge huge live lobster. Fun place to walk in

Peter T.

Yelp
For the first time in my life it was well worth the effort to poke out every morsel of meat from every little crevice in that dang armoured crustacean! And I also refrained from dipping every little chunk in that standard buttery sauce - it didn't need it in the slightest. Not sure how they did it - maybe it was the time of year (late July) maybe it was ancient mariner wisdom. If you kind of enjoy Lobster as it is don't eat here - it will ruin you.

Joanne L.

Yelp
Super friendly folk. We weren't intending on stopping in Alma, but we needed food, so we came by. I guess we asked a lot of questions for tourists. One of the guys at the counter let us hold and take pictures with their live lobsters. They had a 19lb one, and also a live blue one, if I recall correctly. He also let us into the back to see how they process their lobsters. What a treat!

Tarek J.

Yelp
It's been 8 months since I've experienced this yet I remember everything about it like it was yesterday. I thought I had had good lobster before. I thought so, so wrong! This lobster shack is serving lobsters right out of the waters of its shores, and it is by far the greatest lobster experience of life! Upon reading reviews, I thought it was really weird that they would cook the lobsters in advance and then serve them chilled. Turns out that that's the best way to have it. Cooked to perfection and then cooled on ice ensured that the lobster retained all of its juices and flavour. Mmm. Ripping into that thing was so gratifying; each piece was more delicious than the next. This place does it right. You get in. Choose a lobster at the counter. Grab a tray for it all and then head outside on the patio to make a mess. It's fantastic.

Sharon H.

Yelp
There lobster roll was great. However the soup was a total ripe off! Small portion and not good! It said it was supposed to have a lots of sea food in it but not so much and the very little bit that was in it was tough and chewy.

Jeff G.

Yelp
I've came here once as a child and remembered it being amazing. I finally came back here in the summer of 2015 and the food never fails to live up to its expectations. The fresh lobsters are amazing and pre-cooked too. There are benches by the sea shore where you can dive right into your meal and the view is remarkable. Don't forget to try the corn and ice cream! MUST TRY!!! :)

Ali A.

Yelp
This was the first time I ever ate a lobster roll and it changed me (lol). Most delicious meal ever with the lobster roll and chowder!

Melba M.

Yelp
Pleasantly amazed how good the food was. We had the lobster roll sandwich (had celery and a little bit of mayo) and the seafood soup. My husband and I shared and was perfect for us..

Ken B.

Yelp
Stopped for lunch on a Monday before a long hike in the park. We opted for two precooked lobsters, about 1.5lbs each. Precooked ones were cooked in the morning in large pots so I expect that's why it must have been difficult to cook them just right. The tails were good but the main claw portions were overcooked. Fish chowder was ok.. Service friendly & fast but not much for them to do...

David M.

Yelp
Great little place on the water. Great seafood fare at expected but reasonable prices. A bit off the beaten track but signed from the main road. Patio has character (heaters too if it's cold!).

Kelly K.

Yelp
Ordered the lobster sandwich and it was extremely salty, didn't care for the extra fillings, and the lobster didn't seem fresh. Everyone around was eating while steamed lobster, I guess I should have gone that route but was just looking for a quick bite. I didn't even finish it which isn't the norm when it comes to lobster. Staff was nice.

Victoria M.

Yelp
We live in Boston which means we have pretty easy access to seafood but the lobster roll at Alma Lobster was spectacular. The amount of lobster you get in the roll is generous and the staff is super friendly. Skip Hopewell Rocks and head to Alma for the seafood.
