Absolutely wonderful experience here tonight, especially because of our amazing server. The food was overall delicious, probably about an 8 out of 10. To keep it short I'll cut to the chase: you must try the butternut squash tortellacci, the sage brown butter is great. The octopus was also delicious, especially with the garlic lemon aioli, but the pieces of meat were a bit sparse. The meatballs, while also perfectly cooked, were a little small for the price (three ~1" balls), and the cold cheese around it was a bit odd. I wish it had come with more of the grilled bread, which was delicious and would have been great for the cheese. For mains, we had the sirloin, swordfish, and short rib. The sirloin was lean, but could have had a bit more salt. The swordfish was quite nice, a bit like a salmon, and the risotto and tapenade were very garlicky (not in a bad way at all). In fact, that shrimp risotto was definitely one of my favorite parts of the entire meal. The short rib was ok, a little overdone but very tender still. For dessert, we had the apple bread pudding, which was solid and definitely a good choice (the maple crunch is a great addition). Overall, it was a very nice meal, though some dishes I found to be overpriced for the serving size, while others were entirely reasonable. You are most likely paying for the Wahlberg name here, but it definitely lived up to expectations, and apparently Paul is usually in the kitchen too so it's not one of those Vegas-celebrity-chef-tourist-traps. It is funny that his brothers opened a Wahlburgers literally across the corner, though. If you're looking for a romantic Italian-Mediterranean night out, this is definitely a viable option on the South Shore.
