This review is for Happy Hour at Almond. The menu is very limited at that time.
After parking for free in a space that allows one hour, I went in to a nearly empty bar. This was a Monday at around 3:45, so that's not surprising. Rachel my bartender was very friendly and helpful with answering my questions. I had a Bridgehampton Spritz, just a bit different than my go-to Aperol Spritz. Loved it, and they cost $8 at happy hour. Food items are limited on the menu for late afternoons, but I had to try the Mac & Cheese. It was delicious, and I put half in a to-go box before I could finish it. I also tried the Brussels Caesar, and it's great. Nice idea. I noticed the various French fry options on the dinner menu, and so I assumed they must be pretty good. I got an order of plain fries (would love to try the others at a later time), and they are hand cut and very good! They aren't particularly crispy, but I love them the exact way they came out. I took some home and they reheated beautifully.
I met several other people who came into the bar, and I had a really fun time. I did have to move my car to a different space after one hour, but that was easy and quick. I will definitely go back. Friendly staff, delicious food and drinks, and fantastic music! I got lucky as they were playing 80s on my visit, but the music changes daily I was told. I'm so glad I went in!
Oh -- the music was SO up my alley. That clinched it. It was 80s stuff, although the manager says it changes daily. I got lucky! It's pretty, the employees were all kind and helpful, and the few items I did try couldn't have tasted better. I'll sure be back!
