Almost Famous

I come here time to time after work and always enjoy myself. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Drinks are good and they have a variety of the classics and unique ones. Love being here during Christmas time, very festive. Bathrooms are clean and the energy is good.

Very cute place that was pretty quiet for a weekday brunch. The servers were very polite and the drinks and food were good. Not huge portions, if thats what you're looking for, but great for a light meal.

Almost Famous is an absolute standout! The eccentric and vivid ambience immediately sets the tone for a fun experience, and the service is spot on. Marcus, the bartender, has a real talent for listening to what you want and surprising you with a drink you didn’t even know you needed—definitely ask for his recommendations! The food is delicious, especially during their great happy hour on Sundays (and possibly other days too). One thing to note, though: the bar stools are super comfortable, but I found them a bit tall for the granite bar top—something to keep in mind if you’re on the shorter side. Oh, and the bathrooms? Super cute! The pink tile is absolutely adorable—I seriously want it in my house. Also, be sure to check the hours before heading out, but when they’re open, this place is absolutely worth the visit!

We were very tired at 11:30pm and went inside to have nothing but an Americana and a latte. It was the best latte I’ve ever had and the entire bill was just $7! For the price, I felt that the coffee was worth it. The waitress was very sweet and kind!

Exciting spot to grab a cocktail! We stumbled across this place while walking around the bottleworks district and it was great! We had the Pasion de Brazil Cocktail and a Cosmo. Both were excellent and the prices were not too bad either. They have a good amount of seating and the staff was friendly. Will definitely be back!

Curtis and staff are attentive, approachable, and simply wonderful. The food is phenomenal and the drinks are beyond creative and delicious. AF is our favorite spot in Indy. The design is unique and you will want to steal the wallpaper. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Steak was a little tough, but we had a great time. We came for an event, not the food, but their menu was impressive. They had a vegan menu out for the event, so it's possible they didn't have the steak prepped. We'll definitely be back to try them on a normal day.

Delicious drinks with a comfortable classy atmosphere. The bartender Rachel helped create not only an exquisite environment whist crafting a delicious drink but utterly turned my night around with her kind, light hearted energy.

This was my first visit (but not last) and it happened by accident. It was my turn to pick a restaurant and after mentioning another mass avenue spot that wasn't favored, I randomly selected Almost Famous. It was the cutest little vibe as we walked in. Perfect for date night or quiet dinner with a friend. I had the espresso martini (or 2) and the cod. My partner had the calamari and brussel sprouts. Everything was great. I'll definitely be back and hoping to catch some live music.

I had the most lovely meeting here this past week in the early afternoon. I love how Almost Famous lives multiple lives throughout the day- coffee shop, leisurely day drink.... Transformed into hot club vibes by night. The server was super hospitable and gracious in sharing Wi-Fi details for me to take a meeting while there. I had a delicious made in house ginger pear mocktail that featured a made in house ginger syrup and pear shrub. It was packed with flavor! I'd definitely order this again. They also offer a handful of food items and apparently, you can now visit with kids during the earlier hours if you order food. We'll be back!

Not a bad spot to stop for a really good drink. The service was a little slow but I could see it getting better (as we were there earlier in the day when they only had maybe two servers). My friend enjoyed her oysters they were large. The vibe is nice. I'd go back.

Finished our evening with the perfect nightcap! Highly recommend the Manzana. Our server was great and knowledgeable. The Tapas menu looked amazing we will definitely be back to explore of the menu.

This was my first visit. Love the space. Great drinks and the service was friendly and speedy. Looking forward to going back when we can hang out longer.

A wonderful spot for a pre or post dinner cocktail! All vibes. Our bartender/server was knowledgeable and attentive. They have small plates that were lovely for snacking, but I wouldn't plan a full fledged dinner here.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Almost Famous! My best friend and I cannot be swayed in our decision that they make the best espresso martinis in Indianapolis. They are always perfect. We stopped in here late on a Saturday night and they were playing Supernatural on the projector screen on stage (my favorite comfort show) and my bestie and I had some dirty martinis + espresso martinis while our counterparts split a bottle of Prosecco. Every time we stop at Almost Famous I have a great time. The bathroom decor is also super fun and I always crack up at the Michael Scott quote that is in both bathrooms. I wholeheartedly recommend this bar to anyone who hasn't already tried them! My next mission is to stop in here during their brunch hours...

Was really excited about this because I'm a huge fan of Spanish food and tapas and that's something that's very hard to find in Indianapolis. I truly love the interior of this place as it's very cozy and warm but I could always see it turning it an awesome bar at night. Our waiter was nice however the food took a bit too long for just a sandwich and slice of Tortilla de Patata. I thought the Pan de Trufa was good however it was a bit of an overkill to put that much cheese on it. The Tortilla de Patata I thought was good but nothing amazing. I would come again because I would like to try their option selections on the menu.

This is the cutest little bar, however, the experience that I had here will probably make me not come back. 3 friends and I came here for cocktails. We didn't know a drag show would be going on about an hour after we arrived. The server informed us when we sat down and asked if we'd be staying. We asked if we could think on it for a moment. She came back and asked again and we decided to stay. We ordered our drinks and when she brought them back she said we actually had to leave because they sold out all the tables. At this point the show was starting and we had to chug down our drinks and leave because people were waiting for our table. We wish the server would have told us this before serving us our drinks.

Absolutely love almost famous. Great spot for cocktails and good energy. Service is kind and quick. Espresso martinis are great as well. The decor and inside is cool and they decorate really fun for holidays

Delicious drinks every time! They have coffee as well- we went for my husbands birthday after dinner and we ordered some oysters and they were good! Tasted very fresh and the champagne sauce was delicious!! The wines are always our go to and soooo good! Definitely recommend the rose! Ambiance is very chic and doesn't even feel like you're in Indiana. The service is good. You can always go to metro / tini or wild eye dab lounge afterwards for a fun night out !

I love how this bar is decorated. it's a small venue but very chic and cozy . it did take us a while to get noticed and serviced however . but hey , it was a saturday night . they have a large screen on the wall with a stage in front . i assume they may have karaoke or performances at times. the have an extensive drink menu with a few small bites . the drinks were very strong and reasonably priced .

An Indianpolis must! Tapas on Mass? Where else! I've viewed Almost Famout several times and had it on my list to try for Sunday brunch. Tapas! Brunch! Happy Hour! Drag shows! Awesome atmosphere! It did not disappoint. Sat at the bar rail and enjoyed a cocktail, oysters, shrimp and kale dip...all were fantastic. My favorite was dragging the crostini from the kale dip through the shrimp jus and then dipping in kale dip. The atmosphere is awesome, and details down to saucers and flatware, wall decor, posters!. Service excellent, the owner enlightened us on its history as the old comedy club, his opportunity during the pandemic to expand after purchasing Tini's next door... It's on my list to visit on the reg and check out their events page and follow on social.

horrible service. There was this guy with a beard that greeted us, he was so rude. He ignored us when we tried to order and acted like he couldn't hear us when we were saying it loud and clear. No wonder the place was empty, with service like that the place won't stay open for much longer.

Went here for a drink before dinner on a Friday night. Our waitress was extremely kind and we had great service. I had the mocha espresso martini, and let me tell you it's the best one I've had thus far in Indianapolis! I will be coming back here simply for the vibes and espresso martinis. My fiancé prefers beer and on top of their broad cocktail and wine menu, they also offered a handful of beers as well. We had the cheese dip appetizer, and it was AMAZING! A great spot for a quick pre dinner app and drink.

Cozy little brunch spot on Mass Ave. My husband and I popped in on a whim and were just in time for a drag show. It was so fun! He ordered the avocado toast and ate it so fast I couldn't get a picture, but he said it was "fire!" The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. They made the experience even better. I would love to go at Christmas time! I hear they do a great job with the festive decor and drinks.

This is literally one of the cutest cocktail lounges in Indy! I cannot believe this was my first time here and had not been before. Not only were the vibes great, but the food and drinks were too. I got an espresso martini and the bartender put the funniest design on top. I consider myself an espresso martini connoisseur and this was one of the best I've had! For brunch, I got the biscuits and gravy with chorizo. My goodness was it delicious! I would definitely come back for dinner/cocktails! 10/10 Recommend

A fan favorite for amazing crafted cocktails and food! The ambiance is very old-rich-money-sophisticated vibes that make it cozy and intimate. Staff were very professional and welcoming. Really enjoyed my fried chicken, perfect balance of tender juicy chicken with the fried crust on the outside. The Mac n cheese was Mac n cheesing for sure. 10/10 coming back in a heartbeat!

Drinks were very good and service was amazing. The bartender was good with very detail drinks. Ambiance was nice . We went when the traffic died down b4 closing. Can't complain the bartender was very good with the drinks we had. And fast.

We stumbled across this coffee shop. It was a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't crowded inside. Everything was beautifully decorated. It had a stage and looks like they host events. We ordered Spanish Latté ($6) and Toffee by Twilight ($7). Both were delicious but a little bit on the pricey side for a small to go cup.

Tucked away toward the end of Mass Ave, this little cocktail bar is serving up the best espresso martini you'll ever have. Period. Smooth, simple and not overly sweet, it'll convert any non believers. We went during December, so it's was decorated from top to bottom and featured a ton of fun seasonal cocktail options. Although we only grabbed drinks this time, I've heard they have killer food and entertainment so don't sleep on this hidden gem!

My rating is based on my experience with the food. I've been here a few times just for drinks and have always had a wonderful experience. The cocktails are fun the service is always exceptional and the ambiance is funky and fun. A friend and I decided to stop by for brunch. We ordered the pineapple waffle she got a chai latte and I went with the butterscotch latte. I wasn't aware that they made all the syrups in house and it's so delicious. I mean I gulped my drink fairly quickly I couldn't believe how delicious it was. We both ordered the short rib hash. The food arrived and we both realized our potatoes were nearly raw. The lighting made it hard to see but I believe the potatoes were bad as well. We took a few bites and had to send it back. Our server was apologetic and let us order the BLT instead. The sandwich was fine, kinda underwhelming and it was served with a pickle. I think house made that I'm assuming was also bad. I took a bite and it was sour in a rotten way. I woke up to being violently ill and this was the only thing I ate. I will definitely come back for the drinks but will unfortunately be skipping the food.

This place is so great. Brunch and coffee are amazing, evenings with DJs are also fun and the drag brunch is awesome. The decor is so cute and well done. Don't sleep on this spot.

This is such a hidden gem coffee spot on Mass Ave! It's a bar at night and coffee/brunch spot by morning. It was decorated really nicely for Christmas The booth seating is super comfy and the service was very nice & quick. I ordered the Toffee latte (seasonal) and it was fantastic. It tasted so soft and subtle- the flavoring was perfect. Overall a perfect latte. I wish the cup was bigger for a $7 drink though.

Almost Famous is a neighborhood favorite! They are super welcoming when you walk-in and now we're regulars! The overall vibe is elevated, yet cozy. We love stopping in for coffee to start our mornings and ending our evenings with a nightcap! Everything is delicious, however we might venture to say their breakfast sandwich is the best in the city! We order it on a croissant and add bacon!

Cute little bar on Mass Ave with a great drink list. There's bar seating, booths and a few tables with bistro chair. My Negroni was outstanding.

This is an all day type of spot. From coffee and breakfast sandwiches to cocktails, they have a great variety of menu items and they are delicious! Most recently we went for a Sunday brunch and grabbed 2 specialty coffees and breakfast sandwiches. One thing I didn't like was that the coffee prices were higher on my bill than on the menu by $1 but the coffee was tasty. The sandwiches were made with bread that comes from 3 birds and though definitely salty, they were very good. The inside is 21+ but they do have 2 small bistro tables outside but you need to order at the counter for service. Overall I would like to come back and try more of their items!

This place was so cool! The whole place had a really cool vibe to it. They had a burlesque show happening the night we stopped in for drinks. Unfortunately it was completely sold out. However they were nice enough to let us come in for drinks for an hour. We didn't order any food but what we saw looked amazing. We did have drinks, I had a Manhattan and my husband got the dealer choice which ended up being a spicy rum (really good). I like it when bars give you the options to try something new. They also sell coffee and have a brunch option which I do want to go back and try. If you do go in make sure you look at the details in the decorations. You may find some fun Easter eggs. Street metered parking on mass ave which we all know can sometimes be a pain but if you frequent Indy it shouldn't be a surprise!

Highly recommend to make a visit to their Sippin Santa holiday tiki pop up. So many fun festive drinks and loved all the tropical themed mugs. It's a smaller bar so a great place for a girls night!

This is such a little gem on Mass Ave! Tucked in you might not notice it at first. But when you walk in - it's a vibe. Randomly there was a Halloween themed drag show. We ordered oysters and the Bruselas & Setas. The oysters were great and the other - the sherry sauce was perfect over the roasted garlic and trumpet mushrooms. For my cocktail, I ordered a dirty martini - and it was perfectly filthy. My main - the costilla corta de cafe - had the most tender braised short rib atop a potato. The entire plate I cleaned. Our server was incredibly friendly and helpful in making recommendations.

All the stars!! We stopped in late after a concert. We are from Chicago so finding this gem made us feel right at home with good food and great service! Theeee BEST Brussels I have ever had!! Order them!! And the waffle churro was mind blowing! The owner Curtis was incredible! This is a must try spot. Oh and the cocktails were great too!!

Unique spot that is a coffee shop during the day but cocktail lounge during the evening. They were playing a movie on a projector towards the back, but the entire shop is relatively small. The cocktails were FANTASTIC. I had the old fashioned with wild turkey bourbon that was a perfect mix of smooth and smokey (9.5/10). My friends had espresso martinis and Irish coffees. The espresso martini had a cute cat design with good flavor and foam (9.7/10). The last cocktail we tried was the Irish coffee that was also delicious (9.4/10). The two servers were also extremely friendly and sweet.

Great coffee/brunch spot on Mass Ave! They have a very unique/fun ambiance and a great chai latte. Also have multiple vegetarian brunch options which is a great plus. Would recommend if you want a fun brunch spot

WOW! I follow this place on Instagram and they posted a drink and we had to go. Stopped in around 4:45 and it wasn't crowded yet which I'm so glad because we were able to really take it all in. I love love love places like this. When you walk in you don't feel like you are in Indianapolis anymore. Puts you in mind of more like Chicago, Atlanta, D.C. something like that. We had a fantastic server who took great care of us. He recommended different drinks based on drinks I shared that I do like. The decor is very chill and relaxing. The music fits the vibe nicely. Many of the songs I looked up so I can add to my own personal playlist. There is bar seating which seems it may hold maybe 8 comfortably but also plenty of other seating booths and tables. They also have a large projector which they were showing 80's movies, nice touch. They have a stage which I'm told they have live music and other fun functions that they use that stage for weekly. We did order food. Not a large selection but a "different" menu with nice snacks such as cashews and Red Pepper Poopers. I'm in love, I will totally be back and often. My only fear is EVERYONE will love it and I won't get a seat anymore!! Oh - It is on mass ave, so be prepared to pay for parking, and you really need to pay because we got a ticket not realizing our time expired!

A group of friends and I went to see wicked in drag at this location, and we had a really good time. Unfortunately I am 90% sure I contracted Covid at that time, but that's not the fault of the establishment. They're operating within guidelines. It was just very crowded due to a highly anticipated show. The drinks were great, and the space has a great vibe!

I loved the decor here! When I entered, I saw the green velvet seats, the white and blue wallpaper by the entrance, the pink wall by the bar, as well as the chandeliers. The bathroom was cute too! The details were great and I loved the indie pop song collection being played :) I came here to catch up with friends and have some drinks. My friend had the pisco sour and we thought it was cute how it looked like a neutral face emoji. The bartender told us in such a sweet way how he accidentally added too many of the drops. We appreciated his honesty and kindness and my friend didn't mind that at all. I had the Free bird - Stunt man mike (mocktail) drink which was around $13 which to me is kinda pricey. I did like it though since it was pretty and flavorful. It had orange, pineapple, vanilla and lime. I liked it though but wish it was maybe at most $10. Another friend of mine had a vodka soda and she mentioned that it seemed light on the alcohol but it was good. I think price wise, the amount they were paying for didn't seem justifying. Just thought I'd mention that if anyone was curious lol. I heard they have burlesque shows here and other events too so I definitely want to come back to check that out! Overall, I liked how cute the decor was, drinks are a little pricey, and I'm curious about their shows :)

We stopped in because they weren't crowded and I'm glad we did. We were a party of 6 and ordered an assortment of food dishes and cocktails. Everything was great! Server was quick and friendly. The decor was charming and relaxing. Lots of seating- bar top, tables & chairs and booths. One cute restroom in the back. I'd love to come in when they have live music. Only thing we weren't psyched about: We had one in our party not drinking so they offered to make a mocktail based on their cocktail menu. Tasted great but was overpriced (2 small non-alcoholic drinks for $26?) Overall, we loved and and would be happy to visit again- but we'll avoid the mocktails :)

SO CUTE. This is a very unassuming spot that opens up to a super fun, Cali-influenced drink spot. We went during the day when nobody was there, but it was cute nonetheless and the bartender was so much fun. We got espresso martinis and loved them! I have a feeling this place is poppin' at night and has some fun shows to experience. The martini was great and I loved the old Hollywood colors and decorations. Check it out!

Live that place just tried it this week and the food was great and the cost was even better...Will be going there again. Real soon and recommend it to all my friends

Went to the Sipping Santa at Almost Famous! The people were so kind and the vibe was amazing for Christmas!! I got a fun drink that was absolutely delicious. The people were so kind and helpful. Went on a Friday night around 6pm and there were not many people there! Lots of seating and decorations were very festive. Loved this pop up bar!!

Almost famous is a great little cozy spot on Mass Ave. They have great drinks and service, but the food menu is limited. During the day it is a coffee shop, and in the evening it turns into a cocktail bar. I've been for MANY drag shows. It's a small venue, so you need to get your tickets way in advance. They have a stage in the corner so you can see from any table. I've also been for their Christmas pop-up which is such a blast! The decorations are fabulous!

Beautiful interior. I hardly recognized that it was the old Comedy Sportz. I'm a huge fan of tapas, so I'm so happy there's a new place for it. We very much enjoyed everything we ordered. We went very early on a weekday, before a show & we were the only people there. I'm looking forward to going back for a drag show. I was also very excited that they had great mocktails.

I went during happy hour and loved the $2 oysters and 6$ cocktails! I didn't want to get too full before dinner so I kept my choices light. Loved my server, super sociable. The vibe was very relaxing yet fun.

Stumbled into this place after we had dinner nearby. It is very cute and evidently a sister bar to Tini - didn't know it but it's an LBGTQ bar. Super cute and fun. They were setting up for a drag show. Had a tiki vibe inside, people watching was top notch. Cocktails were fun and creative. Service was very slow, guessing due to the incoming show. Will return for a drag show if I'm ever in the area!

Stopped in with a friend for a quick drink. I've heard nothing but great things about this location so I've been wanting to try for awhile. It did not disappoint. I got a lemon drop martini and my friend ordered an espresso martini. Service and drinks were refreshing and I'll definitely be back for more whenever on Mass Ave. They had Ghostbusters movie playing on the big screen and if it was just me, I would've stayed for that!

I went to Almost Famous on Saturday night July 29th for drag show. I've actually heard great things about Almost Famous that's located in the Mass Ave area. Since it's in the heart of Mass Ave there are street parking, get to your destination in the Mass Ave areas early to get a good parking spot. There are accessible parking spots as well as lower sidewalk ramps. Walking in Almost Famous building you'll notice a beautiful colorful painting on the right, and to the left in the entry is a piano that does work. Once, you passed the small short entry you'll enter the main area of Almost Famous, you'll notice the big main stage in rainbow colors, the very unique wallpaper that caught my eyes, and Almost Famous is a gay bar, but it's for everyone. I decided to go Saturday to see a dope drag show, and the theme was Black Girls Magic. The Drag Queens performed from Beyoncé, Tina Turner, and Janet Jackson. You can definitely order food at Almost Famous as well as drinks, I ordered the chocolate cocktail, then later on I had a shot of Tequilla. My cousin had a cheese appetizer(not pictured), piñata colada, and the dealer's choice which is the customer chose their alcohol, and the Bartender makes it. I really enjoyed my first drag show at Almost Famous, love the fast professional service, and honestly I love how it's a low key bar so I'll definitely will come back.

Stopped in before a dinner date with my girlfriends. I tried the Fire Mocha, which is a seasonal drink on the cafe menu. It contains mocha, espresso, cayenne and milk. It was hand crafted and made beautifully. The cayenne added an awesome kick. I look forward to coming back for more cafe drinks and cocktails. The interior is cozy and inviting. Definitely a place you want to check out if your on Mass Ave!

Delicious espresso martinis and really friendly staff here! The decor is fun and unique. Always fast service.
