Where to Eat and Drink After Hiking in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia - Eater DC

"Give into the urge of singing John Denver at Almost Heaven, a tavern still located in a building that dates back to 1836. Dishes include tavern classics like fried chicken wings and jumbo pretzels, as well as crab cake sandwiches and fried green beans." - Tim Ebner, Kalina Newman

Tourist food at tourist prices. Honestly noting spectacular about this restaurant. I ordered the pub burger and you can tell its a grocery store burger. The only thing that was weird is I tried to order a beer on tap and my waitress told me they didn't have it but another customer a few minutes later ordered the same beer and thier waitress said they did have it and gave it to him

I understand during peak hours, service will be slower. But, our party of 3 waited over 45 minutes for some very mediocre bar food. My wife order the BLT with fries. My son ordered the kids chicken tenders with fries. I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap with fries. Food was moderately priced. Total was $33 but our waitress (who was very nice but we only interacted with her 3 times) took over $10 off our bill for the wait. We saw multiple tables come in and sit down, never be greeted, and get up and leave. It's not difficult to greet new customers. Overall, won't be dining here again. It's just not worth the wait for the food. I'm not sure of the employment situation but it looks like they need some help. There were only 2 servers working that day (midday Saturday in May) and I'm pretty sure they were cooking their own food.

TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE LEAVING!!!! If I could give negative stars, I would. Worst service I have ever received. Every party had to clean their tables, get their own refills, and retrieve their food. There was a young female (teens or early 20s) waitress who came through the upstairs dining area twice in over a two hour period. She was extremely rude and unpleasant. Several parties asked for drink refills, condiments, utensils, napkins, etc. and she never provided them. Everyone had to go directly to the bar or kitchen for items, resulting in everyone becoming their own server. The worst part, she fraudulently tipped herself after I left! If you have a choice, avoid this place at all costs, especially since she is fraudulently altering the receipts!

Have to agree with other reviewers about the service. Was the only new patron there and everyone I saw was on their phones. After I didn't leave and waited patiently, my takeout order was taken. I got the fish and chips. Fries were soggy but the fish was very, very tasty and crisp on the outside/tender on the inside as it should be. So, the wait was worth it. A bit pricey but HF is a tourist town, so I expected that.

We had a delicious lunch here! Great service and even better food. I highly recommend the Reuben! The buffalo chicken wrap was also very good. The best part- the amazing fries! Fresh cut and crispy. Best fries in Harper’s Ferry! The prices were very reasonable and we’d absolutely eat here again.

Google
Unfortunately the Service was horrible. They don’t know what genuine hospitality is at this place. I went to have lunch with my parents. It was a seat yourself restaurant so we look for an empty table. Every single empty tables was not cleaned nor wipped. The waitress wouldn’t show up, neither greet or stop by. I had to go and approach the staff but they were only replying I am busy, I can’t help you now. When finally my waitress Kendra N, she was rude, very unpolite, unprofessional. I gave her our order right away. Other guests arrived after we did, and they started to get their food before we did. It had passed 50 minutes by the time we finally got our food. On top of that she gave me the wrong side that I didn’t want, so I didn’t eat it. In the menu the burger said it was 1/2lb burger. But I got 1/8lb burger instead. I work in the industry , and I am really aware of the sizes of the patties. And now that a couple of days had gone by. I check my bank and realized I have been charged additional money for the tip. What a scam and a horrible place to be! Never recommend this place. Please don’t ever eat or spend your money at this location.

My friend and I went on the 1st of November. We enjoyed the outdoor seating area. I got the Chicken Strips with Fries, and my friend got the Club Sandwich.

Had a really nice lunch here in April 2019. Sat upstairs and inside the dining room. Really cool layout. They preserved the old style of the building. The service was great. Our food came out quickly. The only issue was that the fries were old, but our server brought fresh fries out after we asked. We had the burger, cheesesteak,Reuben, turkey club and wings. Everything was so good! I'd highly recommend the burger. Had two different local beers, both were so-so (amber ale and lager). All in all, a great lunch and dinner spot. It probably gets really crowded during the tourist season though.

Yelp
I rarely give restaurants 2 stars, but I did not have a good experience here. My friends and I were visiting Harper's ferry and debating between here and another restaurant in the area for lunch, but decided to go here because the other place had a 45 minute wait. Even though we immediately got a table, we waited over an hour for the server to take our order. This is not the servers fault at all, but the management who staffed one server for two very large sections of the restaurant! We tried to even order some water to wait, but the server was running around and did not have time to stop at our table. Even though the wait time at the other place was longer, I think we ended up waiting here for way more time. When the serve finally came to our table and we placed an order, she mentioned that the kitchen is not backed up, she is just busy. We got our food about 20 minutes after that. We got mozzarella sticks, which came out burnt. We debated sending them back but didn't want to wait even longer for food! I got a chicken Caesar wrap, which was pretty decent but nothing exceptional. By the time we finished our food, all the other tables around us cleared out. I wish they had told us about this wait time before we were seated. The restaurant was also pretty dirty, we sat next to a windowsill with spider webs all over and my seat was sticky when I sat down- I had to wipe it before I sat. We will not be coming back here.

Yelp
DO NOT GO! I SAY AGAIN DO NOT GO! I went to this establishment with a large group and I couldn't believe the things that were served to us. The food was gross and the waitress was overwhelmed. This place is in the heart of Harper's ferry and I can only imagine the disappointment that patrons feel when they sit down and their food come out like ours did. Burnt, missing specific requested items. I would not recommend this place and will never go again. My fries were brown! My wrap was dry and gross. I asked for the sauce on the side and it never came. Do yourself a favor don't go!

Yelp
came here with my boyfriend, brother and law and nephew after our hike at the Maryland heights trail. I usually do my research before going to eat anywhere but we were starving and being in Harpers ferry there wasn't to many choices the service we got was great I ordered this burger with the potatoes wedges my boyfriend as well and his brother and nephew spaghetti and meatballs my burger had good taste it just wasn't juicy for me was a bit dry and my fries as well as my boyfriends felt like the weren't to cooked through. Don't think I'd come back I'd probably try something else around the area. But it did the job which was to get food in our stomachs.

Yelp
Great lunch today! Our server, Kendra, was awesome. Incredibly friendly, offered menu suggestions and also shared tidbits on what to quickly see and do in the area because we were short on time. Cheese Steak Sub and homemade fries was probably one of the best I've had in a long time. Highly recommend!

Dwight K.

Yelp
The pub burger and service was great and the view on the patio was beautiful. The server was so nice and was always checking in on us to make sure everything was going good.

Kirk M.

Yelp
Truly disappointing. Service was outrageously slow and food was mediocre at best. Burger was very overcooked and fries were bland. Salt shaker, which was filthy, was clogged and unusable. Chicken wrap fell apart on first bite. There are definitely better choices in this very cool town!

Yelp
Cute little pub in Harper's Ferry. Nothing special... had a cold beer and tried the mozzarella sticks (deep fried), they were good.

Yelp
What a quaint pub!!! Old time charm for sure!!! Our waiter was great and very on the spot! My husband had fish and chips that were perfect! I had the loaded fries!! Great beer too!!!

Yelp
It pains me to write such an awful review for this establishment; but my experience was so poor it will be forever engrained in my mind. I want to note that poor review speaks volumes about management and not this particular server, because I imagine she is completely underwork and likely underpaid. I also still left over a 20% tip on food that was inedible (read below). First, the place was complete chaos trying to figure out if we seat ourselves and where. When we finally went upstairs I was able to locate ONE frazzled server that quickly walked past me. I was able to get her attention and she told us to seat ourselves, and she'd get to us when she could. We should have left noticing the disorganization and crammed seating space, but we were starved from our far travels and hiking all day. I ordered a grilled chicken salad with NO CHEESE NO CROUTONS. What did I get? A sad salad with cheese all over and croutons in a packet. I was truly desperate for food and decided to suffer the consequences of having dairy and tried to pick through the salad to no avail. I found a completely rotten tomato my salad with FUNGUS on there. I immediately threw it out and proceeded to try to eat the dry and chewy chicken. Then I found another rotten tomato. I was done. The place was completely unhygienic, with dead bugs everywhere (literally my view was on a dead bug on the wall), cobwebs and complete uncleanliness all around. I literally felt sick immediately. Photos attached (after I made the decision it was completely unsalvageable to get past the initial fungus tomato, and this partially rotting tomato).

Yelp
I would be back and try some different things. But I'd have to say that the pizza could have had more on it. More pepperoni anyway. And the waitress. Not sure how the day is going for her. Could be short staffed. So not very attentive. You have that most any place now a days.
google avatar

Mike Z.

Yelp
It was good, i thought the margaritas were done well. I think it was a little high price wise for what we got, but that's to be expected in a tourist town I guess. Everything was fine, but nothing was amazing. Service was friendly though, I would comeback.
google avatar

Ashley G.

Yelp
I had some trepidation because I saw the previous bad reviews, but I don't have anything negative to report. I got a chicken Caesar wrap and my hubs got fried shrimp and fries. Both were good, both came at the same time maybe 15 min after we ordered. The patio seating is cute, and the server was nice.
google avatar

Yelp
Really, really crowded. Tables were not cleaned. Too few wait staff, and very inattentive. We got tired of waiting for a waitress who had promised to be "right there" to show up and left. Not uncommon for Harpers Ferry. Amended to two stars-- I never got a chance to sample the food after waiting a half hour, so this is only based upon our experience trying to get waited upon.
google avatar

Hannah W.

Yelp
We didn't have food, but the staff was SO friendly! We sat at the bar and had a few drinks and chatted with the gals working for about an hour. The food looked and smelled delicious. The patio area looked spacious and plenty of umbrellas to block the sun. Please be kind to your servers and remember to tip! One of the tables left ZERO tip on an $80+ check - NOT COOL PEOPLE. Sadly, they said this happens all the time :(
google avatar

Yelp
More like almost hell. Took almost a hour to get our food. We had three tables seat after us who ordered, ate, paid their checks and we're still waiting. When the food did finally come out heres what we got. 1) one raw hamburger 2) burnt yet oddly slightly soggy fries at the same time 3) limp lettuce and warm salad- This is a first for me. Who serves limp and old lettuce to customers?! The worst! 4) really raw flour and too much breading on the chicken fingers. I ended up giving to my dog. When the food finally did come - the waitress did not use a tray to serve our food. Instead she piled the baskets on top of each other - with the warm salad being on bottom. Kind of gross since I doubt the trays touching the tops of our food were cleaned. No drink refills either. And we did end up asking to them to reheat the burger because it was raw and waitress didn't apologize. They did come up pretty quickly - like less than 5 minutes with fully cooked burger - so thinking waitress forgot to place our order the first time, which is why it took 45 minutes. One more thing - if you want to seat guests outside - make sure to wipe down chairs. All had pools of water--and I wiped down. Overall-DO BETTER. The worst. You made me never want to step foot in West Virginia ever again. Raw meat and old lettuce?! And the worst chicken fingers ever. Nasty.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. We've been having burgers here regularly for going on 20 years- different names, menus, and people- but always the same historic vibe.

Yelp
The pub modified my tip from $5 to $15 by adding a 1 and I can see that in my credit card statement. Don't cheat ur customer. If you provide poor service accept the fact and move on. Food was also not that great.

Neil H.

Yelp
Please note the reviews on yelp are accurate. I should have referenced this prior to eating here or Service took 15 minutes to get waters for tables and then another 36 minutes after we order for the food to come. The french fries were cold and undercooked. Most of the other hot food was barely warm. Regular basic pub food comparable to Denny's. The building is old and is a cool building from the mid 1800s. It is shown to be an armory. The restrooms are extremely small and not handicap accessible. I requested waters from waitress behind the bar after 20 minutes. The waitress said I'm not servicing your table. you're gonna have to go sit down and wait, I said I will carry the waters myself. If you would just help me fill waters please and she said please go sit down. I'll let your waitress know I'm not servicing your table. Considerably frazzled, and unable to cope with the massive people that showed up for lunch. And effective business, with shut off the floor of traffic to match the ability of the staff to keep up with the orders, and provide great customer service The most important thing here is fill all the tables as quickly as you can, whether we can service them or provide good service, and or provide delicious and warm meals.

Yelp
First time in Harpers Ferry. Stopped here for two appetizers and a beer. Place wasn't the cleanest and food was a disappointment. The spinach dip was terrible. We told the waitress and she just said sorry. No offer to remove from bill. We didn't eat it. Waste of $12 on that. Other one was just OK. Won't go back or recommend.

Yelp
I had a Reuben sandwich here after doing the red and blue hike across the river. The sandwich itself was pretty greasy, but did the job after a couple of trails. There is cole slaw, hashbrown, cheese, and the pastrami meat in there. It certainly isn't like a Reuben from NYC, but it wasn't that bad. The curly fries were on the greasy side as well. They accommodate more than they can handle at times. I feel like they have more seating than the amount of employees that work here. The service was good considering it was one waitress that had the whole open balcony area by herself. Nice views of the nearby trees. The station parking lot is right by this place. If you go in the fall, make sure you dress up if you sit outside. The wind and shade can make you feel really cold.

TJ V.

Yelp
TERRIBLE service! Do not eat here! Went today, Monday, for lunch at 12pm. It took 30 minutes just for drinks and an hour to get our food. Only 1 server in the entire place and many tables occupied. All customers were very frustrated and some even left because of waiting too long for the server to even come to their table for their drink order. We will never go back there again! We spent $80 for the 4 of us for lunch. Waste of money. Very poor management to only have 1 server for the entire restaurant. The pub burger was awful. It tasted microwaved with a very bad aftertaste. Small portion of fries.
google avatar

Dave L.

Yelp
I was not impressed with this crowded restaurant. Some of the tables were not properly wiped off and the wait time for our food was very long. Ordered a salad for for lunch but our waitress said they were out. I did not order any thing so I walked out the door. The management and crew were not very helpful and informative. Would not be coming over here again By The Way.:(. Giving them only 1 star.

Yelp
If this was strictly for the fried fish I'd give it a 5. It's been constantly good over the three years I've been stopping here and it's become my go to place in Harpers Ferry. I've recommended it to others for fish and chips and haven't regretted doing so. I'm not the biggest fan of the frozen curlyque fries. Fresh cut would be a much better pairing! Just a stupid decision to use the battered frozen ones! My biggest complaint is the beer! Lukewarm at times! Why would you even serve it? Service has been great at times and other times mediocre.... I think it's just due to the area and while I hate to mark down for it, I have an obligation to tell it like it is.

Debi N.

Yelp
The place is absolutely filthy, building looks to be disintegrating but surprisingly fish and chips, Philly sandwich were real good. Beer is warm and expensive. DC prices on beer
google avatar

Deanna S.

Yelp
Came here just to get some air conditioning, to use the bathroom, and get drinks and an app. The server was so busy, taking care of probably 7 tables, but still very friendly and attentive. Choice of music was also a plus!
google avatar

Dave B.

Yelp
Ok we've been here twice with my gf and her kids and had nothing but great food for the price and location. The grilled chicken Caesar wrap was good. Mozzarella sticks very good with the Buffalo wings and fries also yummy. Time before I had crab cake sandwich which was good s well. The waitress remembered us from first time but was overwhelmed the second time but still good service. Definitely check out if looking for good pub food

brian p.

Yelp
Horrible service. Nobody showing customers where to sit. Waitress behind the bar told us to grab menus and sit "wherever". We did, didn't get helped for almost 20 minutes and three separate tables who sat after us got helped and served before we even got a hello. After ordering, it took another 20 minutes to get two beers in a can. 40 minutes of waiting to have two beers opened for us. Simply unacceptable. This place is a dump, overpriced and the worst service I've seen all year. You have been warned, do not come here. The place is also crawling with flies.
google avatar

Greg S.

Yelp
I have always joked the West Virginia is almost heaven making it purgatory. Not the case here, a good little eatery in Harpers Ferry. You can eat downstairs, indoor or out, or the same upstairs! Service was fast and very personable. We enjoyed a flight of local beer that were generous in their pours. I had the turkey club and my friend had the buffalo chicken wrap. Both were excellent!
google avatar

Yelp
Take a stroll through historic downtown Harpers Ferry and you will find a plethora of locally-owned cafes and restaurants. After a really terrible experience at a nearby restaurant, Almost Heaven Pub & Grill was certainly like "almost heaven" to us. We both agreed we should have came here first. Outdoor patio seating was perfect, as the inside was a little small, cramped, and rather dark. Our waitress was upbeat, cheerful, and definitely seemed to enjoy her job. She advised us no alcohol served on downstairs front patio, which was fine with us. It's a Harpers Ferry law, I think. I ordered the Fish N Chips. GREAT decision. I definitely recommend it. Fresh, flakey, crunchy fish served with curly fries and yummy homemade coleslaw. My friend got the Crab Cake Sandwich. It was HUGE! She said it was delicious. I took one star off because we were in a hurry. We told our waitress we had to catch the bus back to our car, which was located at the main entrance to Harpers Ferry National Park. She seemed to not understand our sense of urgency. We were afraid we would miss the last bus so we told her to run our credit cards ASAP. She had a little confusion with the cards so we went inside to sort things out. Luckily, we did make it back just in time to catch the last bus. But we had to move swiftly. Overall, this truly is a perfect spot to relax outside and enjoy the beautiful scenic views of downtown Harpers Ferry. I do plan to come here again.

Bonnie L.

Yelp
Honestly, I'd avoid this place. There are many other food places you can go to nearby. The mac & cheese looks like the Kraft Easy Mac. The curly fries tasted like it was old and microwaved. On top of that, I waited roughly 25 mins for this order... The service isn't great either. I bought takeout, but I noticed that dine-in customers would complain that they've sat themselves down but no one took their order.

Jessica B.

Yelp
Took forever to get a club sandwich and BLT and when it finally came out the bread was soggy. It was pretty gross, nothing cleaned up. The counter and stool were also sticky.

David T.

Yelp
Called on a Sunday afternoon to place an order. Was told they don't do pick-up/carryout on weekends, because "it's too hard on the kitchen staff". Might wanna update your website, and re-think that business move. Saying no to money???
google avatar

Jessica H.

Yelp
First time at Almost Heaven and we were pleasantly surprised. They had a decent draft selection and several main menu items to choose from. The fried green beans with the chipotle ranch were absolutely amazing. The Reuben was great too. We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and kind customer service.

Yelp
It was a beautiful, unseasonably warm day in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia when we stopped. by for lunch . You can find Almost Heaven Pub and Grill across from the train station. The pub and eating areas are a little cramped for my liking, but if you can be one of the lucky ones to get the rooftop porch when the weather is good, you won't be disappointed. We ordered a philly cheese steak sandwich, sweet and spicy shrimp and the taco salad. Everything was made to our liking and we had a great meal. All in all it's a good place to try if you visit Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.

Jacqui L.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. I had the veggie sandwich and my sister had the BLT - both delicious. The fruit that came with it was (canned) mandarin oranges. I was a bit put off by this at first, but the nostalgia of it was so charming - and I had forgotten how fun they are to eat. Freshly brewed iced tea is a must try!

Yelp
The root beer - Old Dominion - was great. Everything else, not so much. We were searching for a restaurant with a table for four on this busy holiday Saturday, for which many of the restaurants in town seemed unprepared. At first glance Almost Heaven seemed, well, almost heaven. Twenty minutes later when our table had not yet been cleaned and we'd only been given one menu for all of us, we should've known we were in for a bumpy ride. Nevertheless, orders were taken and about 15 minutes later, our drinks - the aforementioned root beer and a Diet Coke - were delivered. FORTY minutes after ordering and FIVE minutes after our server said he put our order in (!!!) ... no food. We cut our losses, paid $6 for the two drinks and left. It's not worth it, folks. Life is too short.
google avatar

carissa t.

Yelp
We stopped for a snack & drink after exploring the town...it was ok. The place was crowded (I'm not COVID paranoid but it was on the verge of even too much for me), so we sat at a dirty table. The server did her best to get it cleaned up, but she was slammed so it took a minute. Hard Cider was TASTY; I wish I would have paid more attention to the menu so I could find it again. Pretzels were NOT Bavarian (I lived in Germany for years. Germans probably wouldn't have called these things pretzels), but they were tasty, filling snacks. Overall-- eh. The server did the best she could. The food and drink was fine. I wouldn't hurry back, but I wouldn't be against stopping in for another cider.
google avatar

Cheston R.

Yelp
I was with a group and we had an awful experience here. The table was dirty. The waitress took our order, delivered the drinks then disappeared. We wait over an hour for our food then finally had to ask the waitress on the status, and it was another twenty minutes before our food was delivered. So we waited an hour and a half for food. Then the food was awful. The sandwiches and fries were cold. We asked for fresh french fries and she brought over fries but they weren't fresh just heated up. Clearly the food had been sitting around a while. Don't stop here. Even if there is a wait at another restaurant it would be better to eat somewhere else.

Yelp
Cute, small restaurant in historic Harpers Ferry overlooking the cobblestone street and train station. The inside takes you back in history with old hardwood floors and stone walls. They have a small menu with appetizers and sandwiches, a decent selection of alcoholic drinks, and non-alcoholic drinks. There is a small deck area to sit outside on a nice day, and a very small bar area inside. The prices are comparable to the other restaurants in the area and the staff is super friendly.
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
This place is so small and cramped. We had to seat ourselves and then waited for at least 10 mins to even order drinks. They seemed to only have 4 menus and were passing them from one table to the next. The wait for our food was even longer. When the food finally arrived all of the fries seemed to be burnt to some extent. The cole slaw was good. I ordered the shrimp po'boy and it was delicious. When we tried to ask our server for anything they seemed to get annoyed with us though. The only thing we asked for was drink refills and a to-go box.

Yelp
I told my wife the food quality was "2002 Air Force base bowling alley" and we debated if that was too kind

Yelp
So this place ranks a 5 star from me for a few reason, but let me be straight forward on the food. It wasn't that great. I had the crab cake sandwich and it was so so. It had a nice crust to the top and bottom but seemed completely uncooked in the middle. I mean no real worries about getting sick or anything but the texture was off for me. Being a little pricey for what we got was a little off putting but had the sandwich been a little better, I wouldn't have mind as much. Where this restaurant gains back its stars is its pet friendly stance. It was a fairly warm day in harpers ferry when we went, more so than any place we had been so far. Our basset hounds who have no stamina, were getting hot and needed a break. The staff graciously put us in a nice shady spot in the corner to have some privacy, brought the thirsty hounds a bowl of cold water and some snacks. Any place that takes as much care of their dog clients as their human clients will always rank high with me. The service was great, our waitress being very attentive to us. Our food came out in a reasonable time for the amount of people that were present. I'd definitely consider going again, maybe getting something else on the menu but would go back. Check them out, especially if your have a dog.

Yelp
Almost Heaven has an outdoor deck with a nice view of Harper Ferry. Our drinks came out quickly. I was confused with the "peach fresh fruit sangria" because the only fresh fresh was a slice of an orange. For the appetizer, our loaded fries came out completely cold. Lots of bacon but skimped on the beer cheese. I ordered the cheese steak sub and it came out soggy with barely any meat inside. My partner ordered the crab cake sandwich with a side of the soup of the day, clam chowder. It was okay - they could have used a mayo, mustard or an aioli for a creamy component in the sandwich. The food was OK and didn't come out fresh. We will not be returning back.

Estefania R.

Yelp
Rude and Racist Restaurant staff! My husband and I were excited to eat dinner here. The restaurant was clearly open and the posted hours said it closes at 8pm. We walked up to the door speaking spanish, and were greeted by two senior citizen employees, smoking cigarettes, who told us it was closed. My husband responded saying, "the sign on the door says you close at 8pm and the restaurant is clearly open and busy, but okay." The ladies proceeded by laughing in our faces. My husband told me that's the first time he had ever been discriminated for speaking spanish in public in his entire life. We had heard how military friendly, (active duty Marine husband), the town of Harpers Ferry was prior to our trip, and it might still be, but this restaurant is not. Also not friendly to those who speak a language other than english.

Yelp
We are giving this place four stars because even though the service was a bit spotty and waits were a bit longer than expected. The fried seafood was fantastic. Fish and chips made me very happy a humongous piece of fish fried perfectly. Lots of side dish options instead of chips, I picked broccoli which was tossed with seasoned salt and very tasty. Karl had the fried shrimp platter and also was very happy with that and the flight of beer as well.

Yelp
food taste was good but all of our food came out cold. Flavor was good but not worth the wait and cold food. Pub burger and cold fries, veggie delite and haddock basket and pub club with cold fries.

Yelp
Pieces of glass in my beer... and all manager did was just to take that beer of our check, we paid for the rest. He was so lame as to give us two free dinner coupons, knowing that we definitely won't return to the place where there's freaking glass in your drink! No way! He should've offered free dinner right there at that moment! Needless to say seating situation was chaotic. It was way too cold (winter time), entrance was constantly opened. Waitress took forever and my crab sandwich was cold and burned. Also, waitress was rude, racist and ignorant by answering one of our questions: "Here in America fries is chips"... I just leave that right here without explaining how that made me feel. I just say that I've been living in America 14 years.

Yelp
Nice little restaurant We chose this restaurant after reading some reviews and decided to give it a try. Let me start with the Pros: Nice food, great atmosphere, and very historic. Now the cons: Extremely small dining room, not a lot of space. We stopped at the restaurant for lunch, and walked inside. The dining room was completely empty. We found a sign that told us the seating was upstairs, so we exited the restaurant looking for stairs. Found them, went back inside on the top level and found a nice big table for our group of 7. At this point there were maybe 2 other small groups in the restaurant. We ordered our drinks and food, and were joined by 3 more families who didn't realize they weren't inside a concert (SO LOUD!). They kinda ruined it for the rest of us. If you are claustrophobic, this is not the place for you.

Yelp
Went here after hiking. We were greeted and seated right away. Food was delicious! We recommend the loaded potato skins, wings, and onion rings for apps. Burgers and cheesesteaks were delicious and filling. Hot apple cider and IPAs were a great hit after the cold hike!
