The Best Poke, Smoothie, and Grain Bowls in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"This cute, casual cafe takes the Hawaiian theme and runs with it: Chow down on one of Aloha’s very green, very tasty poke bowls or sweet and healthy pataya or açaí bowls in the Old Montreal espresso bar’s colourful, wood-panelled surroundings. Coffee fans would be remiss not to follow their meal with a cup of Aloha’s Kona coffee, made from beans cultivated on the Big Island." - Holly Tousignant

Google
Absolutely my favorite coffee on the island ! I searched for 3 days for good coffee . I got the macadamia caramel and it was delicious !!! The gentleman who was serving me was very nice and personable . Highly recommend !!!

Google
We ordered a large Coconut Mocha Frappe, using a card it cost almost $10. It was by no means a frappe. It was completely melted the second he handed it to us. Its taste closely resembled CoffeeMate creamer, and I’m not sure it actually had any espresso in it at all.

Google
I’m a visitor of Hawaii and a huge coffee lover. The coffee on this island is so good, I’ve been having 3 cups most days. I have been enjoying just a black iced americano and I can honestly say that aloha espresso’s espresso is the best I’ve had so far, and the owners are absolutely so lovely! They have you covered from black coffee to any sweet mocha/caramel/creamy latte you could want! If you are a coffee lover, you have to make a stop to this little shop! :)

Google
Great latte! I got the caramel macadamia and it was so good!! They have many options and very friendly service!

Google
Loved our experience at this little coffee truck. The owner was super friendly and was interesting to talk to. He’s doing his thing and is happy, spreading the vibe to his customers. The coffee drinks were great, but I’m docking a star due to menu limitations - he didn’t have many options for hot drinks. That said, I’m usually not an iced type of guy but he let me choose my caffeine level and my sweetness level which I loved.

Google
Jim, the owner is amazing! Very friendly, makes Delicious blended drinks! Also had his Cold Brew...smooth and delicious!

Google
This is my favorite coffee in this island. Jim, Thank you so much for your prayer.

Google
North Shore DELICIOUS! coffee. Service was friendly, smiles, helpful with drink menu. Highly recommended. I had the Caramel Macadamia, "medium sweet", no whip and it was perfect!!!!

Yelp
Aloha Espresso is a cute little mobile coffee cart that can be found in Kahuku - their drink menu offers lattes, mochas, shakes, and other hot/cold beverages. The iced Kona Mocha Latte, prepared with espresso, milk, vanilla, mocha, and a chocolate drizzle, was strong and refreshing! The owner is very friendly and kind, and there were some stray kittens that hang around that are looking for a new home... please adopt and don't shop! Definitely a great spot to stop by if you're in the area for a caffeine fix! +tasted iced coffee +friendly service

Yelp
Great location, tasty drinks (iced latter, iced vanilla caramel Latte; friendly man served us.

Jon G.

Yelp
After getting garlic shrimp, I went here to get a quick coffee. The man inside was extremely nice and asked me how sweet I would like my drink, I asked for medium sweet, I had a great experience and my drink was great!
google avatar

Harold M.

Yelp
Friendly establishment. The caramel macadamia nut latte was pretty good, sweet enough but could feel that good caffeine. Had it made with oatmilk.

Yelp
BEST COFFEE I EVER HAD.The guy selling coffee was SUPER nice.Even my sister loved it too n we live in San Diego n came here for vacation.Out of all the coffee I had in San Diego none of them compete to this. If you get anything, get the iced mocha latte!

Cheyna H.

Yelp
this is literally the best coffee you'll ever have. I live here on island and drive 40 minutes just to treat myself to this on my days off. also, the man who works here is the kindest, most wholesome person ever. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
google avatar

Thomas S.

Yelp
Stopped here after a day at the beach for a much needed caffeine boost. Service was super fast and friendly. I ordered a large vanilla caramel iced coffee which was delicious.

Yelp
Grateful that this coffee shack was open when we drove out to Kahuku today. Not all of the trucks and stands in the area are currently open due to Covid, but we luckily arrived after they had recently opened The gentleman who helped us (I would assume the owner) was wonderful. He created the most amazing sugar-free coconut latte that I have had since arriving on island a year ago. My only complaint is that it's over an hour from my house and can't become a part of my daily routine!
google avatar

Haley G.

Yelp
My husband and I went here on our honeymoon. We arrived at 3:40pm and they close at 4pm. It was 20 minutes before closing and the man said he couldn't serve us because they were closed. We wanted to find a great coffee shop on this side of Oahu but he wouldn't even take our order. Not a great way to end our honeymoon when we love coffee and trying new places.
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee spot right off the road. Super friendly guy and most importantly.... Great coffee!!! My wife and I both enjoyed what we ordered.
google avatar

Rina Z.

Yelp
Coming in from out of town and needed coffee before visiting the Polynesian Culture Center. Super sweet guy who was patient and accommodating, making sure our drinks were what we wanted before we left. You're able to adjust the sweetness and he makes it on the spot, so no waiting for your drink after you order. Lots of options to choose from. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is a tourist trap. Worst bubble tea I've ever had...I ordered a milk tea one. The guy over poured and it was all over the lid. It tasted like a milkshake and was disgusting. They also charge for ice water... Maybe their coffee would be better but their bubble tea is a no go
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
Do not get the bubble tea. Do not get the boba (bubble tea). There is a reason the sign says no refunds all sales are final. I watched as the dude blended powder with milk. That's the norm at some places but the Mango drink was disgusting. Un drinkable. I feel so ripped off. Coffee is decent.
google avatar

Amayah G.

Yelp
This was our first time going to this coffee shop. We are visiting from out-of-state and we're looking for a spot that had coffee/tea options. It's a cute hole-in-the wall shop but the quality was TERRIBLE. I DONT RECOMMEND GOING HERE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET SICK. I decided to order the hot mango black tea and the guy ringing me up says "oh I haven't made/served tea in a long time." I should've known this was a red flag from the beginning. Fast forward 45 minutes later, I feel gross and nauseous. I ended up throwing up and I know it was that mango black tea because it didn't sit well with me from the start and it tasted gross. I'm guessing it was expired since he stated that "he hasn't made/serve tea in a long time." Although the spot was cute, the quality of product was a D-

Yelp
Was in need of a caffeine jump while on the north side of the island and there is not much out here. I am new to drinking coffee and this was my first espresso the guy here walked me through it added a little of this and that and made it not taste like total crap like all coffee I have tried so far.

Nikki M.

Yelp
Best coffee on the island! We came in 2022 and returned this summer, and it's still the best coffee we've had! Thank you Jim for always striking a conversation with us! Mahalo from your Texan friends
google avatar

Manny G.

Yelp
Great place to stop off on your tour around the island. Owner is very nice and the coffee was great.

Ladee C.

Yelp
Aloha! When ur in Hawaii please drop by Aloha Espresso. Their Caramel Macadamia drink is soooo good. The guy is very friendly too. Mahalo!
google avatar

Jonathon M.

Yelp
Amazing coffee and more! I got the iced vanilla Mac mocha, my wife got the caramel mac mocha. Both are to die for, can't wait to come back to try the other drinks!!!
google avatar

Marie M.

Yelp
Ordered a frozen chai with a shot of espresso and coconut milk... AMAZING. The gentleman working there was so kind. Made my day. Cant wait to go back next rime we're in the area.

Yelp
On a trip to the North Shore, I wanted to stop off at the land of food trucks to try the coffee here. My hubby had heard that this place had really good coffee. OK, let's check it out. When we got there, we were greeted quickly. The cashier was willing to help and ask if we were looking for anything specific. I asked about cold brew, but they didn't have any. Oh, well. I went to my next favorite, iced caramel macchiato. My daughter doesn't do coffee, so she opted for a vanilla shake. My iced caramel macchiato was super sweet. I was kind of shocked. I almost thought it wasn't a coffee drink. The vanilla shake was watery. The prices for the drinks were about the norm ($5-$6), but the quality not too good. I would've had better down the road at Coffee, Tea, & Bean.
google avatar

James J.

Yelp
Three amazing cold brew drinks, best in the island! We will be back again. Will substitute simple sugar with Splenda, just ask!
google avatar

Angel S.

Yelp
By far the best coffee!! Prompt service and amazing quality. Will definitely be coming back
google avatar

Scott K.

Yelp
The caramel macchiato was wonderful and my wife and 12-year-old had the bubble tea and they thought that was great as well. The gentleman making the coffee was absolutely wonderful.
google avatar

Aeriel L.

Yelp
I ordered caramel macadamia, so good!! It's a cute little place. The owner is super nice too, great customer service.

Mary H.

Yelp
Had the most delicious coffee from this cute place! Really enjoyed my conversation with the owner, if you are on the north end of the island you need to check out this place!! So worth it!!
google avatar

Caleigh M.

Yelp
Tasty espresso drinks with EXCELLENT service. Warm and friendly owner! We're staying right down the road and found him at the Roadside Food Court. This has been our go-to for coffee drinks, we've been at least five times! I tried the Coconut Mocha and my sister tasted it and went back for her own.
google avatar

Alyson E.

Yelp
Such a cute espresso truck! Ordered a mocha chilled. It was strong in a good way. The small is about the equivalent of a Starbucks grande. Highly recommend you stop buy and have a chat with the owner. Awesome service! No line!
google avatar

Ben V.

Yelp
We got a Thai iced tea and lychee iced tea. They were ice mixed with a powder. Not only is that not worth $4.50, but they were bland, watery, and overly sweet. We threw them away. These were supposed to be TEA. But the guy didn't brew anything. There was zero lychee in mine. And there was no condensed milk in the Thai tea, as is customary.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Where is the " Zero" rating?! As a local I expect a little more... Bought one large espresso coffee but got a $6 chocolate milk instead. I even asked the guy if this had two shots of espresso and he said yes and even tried to upsell me an additional shot of espresso for $1. The reason I asked to begin with is because it did not taste like it had cany coffee in it at all. I gave him the opportunity to correct his error but he did not. The reason I know I ended up with chocolate milk and no espresso is because I get a headache in the late afternoon/evening from caffeine "withdrawal" if I go a day without coffee in the morning. And today I have a splitting headache! A McD's fix for less than $4 resolved my trbl.

Yelp
Great pick me up. The barista was awesome and friendly. His suggestions were spot on. They took Square so I was happy.
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
Just had a great experience here. The latte was VERY tasty and well-crafted, and the chat with the owner/barista/gentleman rounded off the experience nicely. I highly recommend a pitstop from here any time you need your caffeine fix! :)
google avatar

Samuel Y.

Yelp
Macadamia mocha iced coffee?! Perfect little pick me up after feasting on load of shrimp within a block or 2. The guy working was friendly and gave us extra napkins too. Very happy with my drink.
google avatar

Whitney R.

Yelp
As an avid coffee lover I had to get my fix while in Hawaii. Jim, the owner is such a kind person to chat with while he makes your drink!! Definitely recommend coming here for good customer service and a delicious drink.
google avatar

Steffie U.

Yelp
The bubble tea is awful. The Boba is mushy and not even round. We got the pineapple flavor which was horrible. Owner wouldn't stand behind his drink and refused to remake or make a new coffee drink for us. Avoid at all cost.
google avatar

Latosha L.

Yelp
We were taking the scenic route of the north shore and I stopped for shrimp at giovannis. Aloha espresso was right next door. My husband bought us a coconut mocha iced coffee and it was the best I've ever had!
google avatar

Hayley B.

Yelp
I had a taro bubble tea and I can honestly say it was the tastiest taro I've ever had! One of the only trucks in the area that takes card. Very friendly guy that runs the truck and prices on drinks is very fair. He ran out of boba pearls after me and said it's because he makes them himself! So hard to gauge how many to make each day. Highly recommend this truck while you're waiting for your food elsewhere in the food truck park!
google avatar

Luisa F.

Yelp
This was honestly the worst bubble tea I've ever had in my life. I got a watermelon with boba which meant it was 5 bucks. Got one for my friend too, so 10 dollars for pepto bismol water. He uses premade powder, coffee creamer, a few pieces of ice and boba that did nothing in terms of flavor or texture. He saw me take a sip and asked me how it was as I was looking at the NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS sign in the window. Garbage stuff. I would have rather ripped a ten dollar bill in half and drank the dishwater by the benches. The only reason this guy gets business is probably because he's one of (or the only) trucks in the area that takes cards.
google avatar

James T.

Yelp
Great coffee and conversation with the Barista!! I had the coconut and caramel latte, it was delicious! There are a bunch of food spots in the area, so this spot has something for everyone!
google avatar

Carolyn F.

Yelp
Wish I saw Jason L's review. Got the pineapple bubble tea and didn't realize it'd be made with two scoops of powder....in Hawaii. Dumped it a few feet away.
google avatar

Remi K.

Yelp
Excellent service and coffee. Best place to get a caffeine fix before heading up north. look forward to coming again when open!
google avatar

Kelsey G.

Yelp
Amazing coffee, and a wide selection of creative mixed coffee drinks. Jim is an awesome guy to talk to and was so helpful! We loved talking with him and I recommend you stop by, grab some well made coffee, and some great conversation with an awesome guy!
google avatar

Meggan B.

Yelp
I'm a coffee snob.. I only like Peet's coffee at home in California. With a few easy modifications, that the owner was happy to accommodate, I got my perfect iced mocha. Hawaii should be an easy place to find coffee but it's far between to find good coffee flavor that's not over sweetened or Starbucks.
google avatar

Laura R.

Yelp
No clue why there are so many 5 star reviews. I am a coffee snob, hey at least I admit it. This place was run by the owner when we were there. Nice guy, friendly. But it is not espresso, he uses a pod machine for the "espresso" but cold brews for the iced and frappe style drinks. That is his specialty, so if you want a high calorie flavored coffee drink this is your place, if you want a hot cappuccino, latte or espresso go to Island Vintage Coffee in Haleiwa instead where way better real espresso is served!
google avatar

Vladimir K.

Yelp
Must try cold brew takes 20 hours to do it but it's really delicious. Very friendly people working there.
google avatar

Jennifer N.

Yelp
My nephew ordered watermelon flavored bubble tea- it looked and tasted like pepto bismol. Had to throw it away- undrinkable. Unfortunately Hawaii seem to have mostly these types of unhealthy concoctions. The flavors were all just oversweetened strange powders. The drink cost $5 that went into the trash- thats pretty shameful. Had to give one star because I am not allowed to give zero stars.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
I can see my mistake is ordering anything other than coffee at a coffee stand. But if it's on the menu I expect them to be able to make something well if they're taking my money for it. I ordered Thai tea with boba. I even thought to myself, don't order the boba, it's never any good unless it's from a tea boba place. I'm happy to say the boba was excellent! Not too soggy, not to chewy, not old. However, the Thai tea was very gross. It had a hint of Thai tea flavor but it was all wrong. It was also really expensive. $5. I can get a perfect Thai tea with boba for $3 elsewhere. I ate the bubble pearls and threw away the actual drink. I would try their coffee next time. Seems like the reviews are for coffee.
google avatar

Austen H.

Yelp
Got coffee here after eating at Giovani's Shrimp truck. It is the cheapest Kona Coffee we've seen on the island, and it was AMAZING. Also, the owner is super nice and provides free books for you to take with you if you want. I would rate more than 5 stars if I could!

Steve W.

Yelp
Was taking the scenic route of the North Shore and stopped by Giovanni's. Very pleasant vibes although the bubble tea could be better. It was quite watery and the boba was a bit flavorless.
