"After a couple of years of trending worldwide, Instagram-worthy Japanese sandwiches have finally landed in Downtown Dallas. D Magazine reports that No Aloha, the cafe inside ritzy department store Forty Five Ten, is now serving three different Japanese 'sandos,' including a chicken katsu sando topped with veggie slaw and a tamago (egg omelet) sando that’s slathered with Kewpie mayo." - Amy McCarthy

Google
What an overall great experience! I got the Chicken Katsu and BBQ Chicken plate with Rice and Mac Salad. The Katsu was perfectly breaded and BBQ was perfectly seasoned, cooked, and tender. Mac salad was incredible. I read previous reviews that they wish they would’ve got more than one scoop so I opted to. Only $.50 more to sub a scoop of rice for Mac salad. It was totally worth it! What an amazing place with super nice staff! Will definitely be back and bringing friends and family 😊 (Also the sauces I tried were the Katsu and Aloha sauce. They were phenomenal as well!)

Google
So I'm not big on sweet meats .. was delightfully surprised!! My food was so yummy. The smell alone was rich!! So good, very much will be a repeat customer here. They put their foot in that brown gravy that topped my meat patties. The chicken was tender n moist. The steak slices were perfectly cooked and sliced just right. Was not busy at all for Saturday lunch stop.

Hole in the wall. Not sure why I haven’t came across here yet, but this place is pretty home style cooked food. I like the katsu.

Google
This is a very small hole in the wall Hawaiian style food place and it was verrryyyy good! I got chicken katsu with brown gravy my husband got the super loco moco that came with the burger patties and spam! These plates are well worth the money. I’ll have plenty for dinner tonight! This place is a deff must and as local to Hawaii as you will get. We lived in Hawaii for 7 years and even the L&L by us doesn’t compare to Hawaii.

Google
Comfort homemade vibes with friendly staff I would call this a 4. 5 stars if you have the proper expectations. The food isn't going to blow you away. It has more a homemade touch to it versus the classic restaurant overflowing with flavor and fats. So in one sense it's not as impressive, but with the excellent service you may feel at home. My wife and I got a make your own 3 combo plate and chose the BBQ chicken, BBQ short ribs, and chicken katsu. Also got spam musubi (comes in 2). The BBQ chicken easily won the night. The smokey BBQ flavor and tenderness were great. The BBQ short ribs came in next, a good mix of fatty but doesn't stand out. The chicken katsu is lighter fried than expected but still is crispy. Again doesn't stand out. The spam musubi surprisingly was disappointing. The rice was mushy and there was no sauce between the spam and rice and there was a lot of rice so the flavor to rice ratio was off. I was more forgiving and would come again to try other items since it's nearby but my wife was less so. 4 stars

Google
Food is phenomenal. Hits any craving I have on any day, best Hawaiian BBQ place in Dallas by far. Getting to chat with the owner behind the counter is a real treat. He’s incredibly passionate about his product, and very friendly. Love this place.

Google
My favorite place for Hawaiian bbq. Great service and great food. I got the chicken combo with rice, but they macaroni salad as side as well. Chicken katsu was juicy and the bbq chicken is tender and just seasoned enough. Never disappointed here.

Google
I've been coming here for years There's a really sweet woman at the front who consistently makes my day 🥹

Yelp
Dope spot. Amazing service and even better food. Walked in and this place was empty. But damn was not expecting to have a super hella fresh and amazing meal. The service was so good they even sold me on that Hawaiian add on (eggs and grilled jalapeños). Not sure if it's family owned. But it def looked like it Just good vibes and even better foods. Yall better check it out man!!

Yelp
Great place. We visit everytime we come to Dallas and the food is great, plentiful and reasonably priced (a rarity nowadays) One of our favorite family owned businesses ever.

Muhammad B.

Yelp
The food was good. The staff was very nice. I am gonna repeat, I had the short ribs and bbq beef.

Daniel J.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and I'm glad I finally did! Easy ordering system with a tablet at the front. The staff was extremely friendly and sweet. Food was made fresh when I ordered it. Portions are VERY generous too, so it's a great value for the price. Pretty comparable to other Hawaiian bbq places I've tried here and in California. I recommend this place if you're in the area!

Zadiee R.

Yelp
I was on a walk by my apartments and saw this place. I never been so I was like why not. I ordered at the kiosk and got the chicken combo with double white rice and Mac. I only waited about 10 minutes so the service was really fast. When I tried my food , I fell in love. The chicken Katsu is really crispy and has a lot of flavor. The Hawaiian bbq is good as well. I will definitely be back

Miguel G.

Yelp
The food is always delicious! I've been meaning to put in a review for this place for quite some time and now I want to let the foodie world know that it is absolutely delicious!!!!

Paul D.

Yelp
This is the real deal! Only place my wife likes. Katsu chicken is very GOOD! I drive 55miles to get here, and worth it. Thank you

slipperachie D.

Yelp
Food was amazing too notch. I love ordering food from here and it's always brought in a timely manner. Great customers service like a family.

Justin M.

Yelp
Service and food has improved in recent months and check-ins. My go to is the hamburger steaks and lumpia.

Sam M.

Yelp
We LOVED Aloha!! Saeed was very friendly and helpful, not to mention hilarious! Food was reasonably priced and portions were generous, and most of all it was DELICIOUS. Ambiance was lovely and service was superb. Only qualm is the macaroni salad was not super flavorful. Otherwise we highly recommend!

Anna P.

Yelp
I ordered take out from this place for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it! We got the BBQ chicken & beef (#5) and the spicy chicken & katsu (#3) lunch combos for around $20. The portions were great, and the food was very good. Ordering online was easy and there were no extra fees. Don't forget the sauces in the corner, the manager pointed them out to me before I left!

Kim N.

Yelp
A local staple. Definitely fills the craving for Hawaiian bbq/fare! I love the 3 protein combo (usually get chicken katsu, short rib, and marinated beef). Honestly it's a GREAT value, portions are so so generous and appreciated. The mac is delicious too! I've never dined in, but to-go service is quick. Parking lot is ample.

Howard L.

Yelp
Pros: 1. Char grilled chicken thigh had a nice char and smoky flavor 2. Beef short ribs and BBQ beef had great flavor and char 3. I liked the cabbage that was served under the meat, since it absorbed the flavor of the meat drippings Cons: 1. Macaroni salad needed more pepper and maybe a dash of apple cider vinegar 2. Chicken Katsu was a bit on the dry side 3. Employee kept trying to upsell us when we were browsing the menu

Dalanza F.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years and they are so courteous. The food is delicious and will have you returning!

Stan M.

Yelp
Food is great. Typically get the Mix BBQ plate which gives you all the options. Macaroni salad tastes like Hawaiian macaroni salad should taste.

Roma B.

Yelp
Had tried out Hawaiian Bros Island and Grill before this and loved it. I got the mini combo of spicy chicken and chicken katsu. The portion size was great for a full meal especially if you're not too hungry. The spicy chicken was a bit bland, even with the aloha sauce I added. The katsu was oily and didn't seem fresh. Loved the macaroni salad though.

Carey W.

Yelp
BBQ Mix 4/5 Spam Musubi 4/5 Overall enjoyed this restaurant! BBQ Mix has a good variety BBQ meat (Marinated Beef, rib and chicken). My favorite is probably the rib, which has a nice and strong grill flavor as you bite into it. The marinated beef, when freshly cooked, was also really good and as good as the bulgogi from korean restaurants. Though the chicken taste feel like something you can grab from panda express. The highlight of the meal, surprisingly, is the mac n cheese salad on the side, that offered a refreshing break from the heaviness of the meat. The spam musubi was also pretty good, especially if dipped in the bbq sauce. Though the price does feel a little steeper compared to the dish plates since two order of the musubi would equal to that of a full dish.

Yelp
Hawaii is def on my list of places to visit, so when I discovered this rest. I had to try it out. The only Hawaiian food I've had is poke & I'm not a huge fan. I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ chicken (comes with rice & macaroni salad) and a side order of spring rolls. The spring rolls were good, standard nothing to rave about. The chicken (the star of the show) was really good. It was grilled white & dark meat and it was so well seasoned. I really don't know what to compare it to because it was a different flavor than anything I've experienced before. The macaroni salad was also good, it was light and paired well with the chicken. Only thing I I did not like was the fact that the BBQ sauce & sweet and sour sauce are sold separately. Although the chicken is served on a bed of cabbage, it still needs a sauce to go with it (not to mention to eat with the rice as well).

Yelp
Yelpers really be lying sometimes! Lol! While this spot looked like a local 808 joint, had great service & vibe, the food definitely was not it. The Katsu had no flavor at all, bbq beef was bland, and spicy chicken bland. No seasoning at all and lacking flavor. The loco moco was decent but I'm pretty sure the patty is a frozen pre-made one. Spam and eggs were the best part of the meal, but who can really mess that up? The most authentic part of our meal were the lilikoi passion drinks. Maybe it was an off day for the chef and he forgot to season everything? Either way, don't trust these yelpers y'all. Shoutout to the cashier tho, he was super friendly.

Yelp
One of go-to places to grab take out lunch! I got the two meat plate with the pork and beef. The meats are tender and pretty flavorful. There's an assortment of sauces that you can add to it as well. The portions are quite generous and I usually eat it for two meals. It comes with one scoop of rice and one scoop of macaroni salad. I LOVE the macaroni salad, I could eat a whole pint of it tbh but I probably shouldn't.

Sean C.

Yelp
Some quick Hawaiian food but it is quite delicious. Always love getting the short ribs with all macaroni salad as my side. Make for a fantastic lunch when I work from home and usually have leftovers too.

Ema M.

Yelp
Nice to have a Hawaiian BBQ spot here in Dallas. I lived in Hawaii..so it's always nice to see a Hawaiian BBQ spot in cities . Customer service is always great and friendly! Good device and delicious food.

Michelle T.

Yelp
Just moved here from Hawaii (Feb 2022) which I worked as the General Manager at a world known Hawaiian BBQ place. I was excited to see some local food spot here in Texas. I ordered the bbq mix and lumpia's. I was so upset with my first bite of kalbi it had no flavor. It looked marinated but it wasn't. The rice is good, Mac salad didn't have any flavor, but on the island that is always a hit or miss. The lumpia did the Filipino great justice!! Buggah was ono ono!! I didn't bother eating my plate because of disappointment with that first bite! Hopefully this feedback will help.

Sheryll Y.

Yelp
As far as Hawaii local food authenticity goes. 200x more authenticate than Hawaiian bros for example. Food similar to L&L for us locals. However if you're in this part of Dallas totally recommend. The food is ono, the music reminds you of home, and the ambience is casual. Prices are going up because of inflation but definitely not Hawaii prices. Come try! Aloha

Shakil M.

Yelp
I go out to eat good food, not this. This is a heat and serve restaurant, nothing spicey when it says "spicey", because it's a generic heat and serve item bought at Sysco, American, or Alliant which they dress up. They make nothing there, just go any gas station you'll be happier, and depend less money. The staff is motherly, enjoyable.

John T.

Yelp
Really good food. Nice people. Can't go wrong here if you're are looking for something delicious to eat.

Elaine M.

Yelp
Fast, delicious, and just the place if your downtown Dallas, and you have a hankering for Hawaiian food. Don't ask me why, but that's the situation I was in. This place is kinda small and a bit hard to find but worth the find! Friendly and fast service, the Kalua pork was delicious, pull apart, and just amazing. What I love is true to Hawaiian dishes, there was a scoop of rice and macaroni salad!! I wish there was Lau Lau, which is my favorite but no worries, tons of other options really. I'll be back when I'm in the area to try the sausage.

Justin B.

Yelp
Southwest Airlines staple. Have been going here for a loooooonnngggg time. Always a great lunch deal plus the food is hearty, quick and served with a smile. Have never had issues with it being packed. They complete orders quick and keep people happy!

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Probably one of the best value $8 meals you can get! I'm so glad to have a solid Hawaiian bbq place in the area for when we're craving a filling and easy meal. Aloha is perfect for when you want something quality that's a step above fast food for the same price. My favorite combo is the katsu + spicy chicken to get variety of texture and flavor! Also their macaroni salad is the best I've ever had. Make sure not to skimp out on sauces, especially their Aloha sauce (tastes good even on the macaroni salad)! If you like Japanese curry, they have a special curry sauce you can pay a few dollars extra for that pairs especially well with the katsu.

Peter L.

Yelp
Great food and friendly service. We ordered the bbq combo plate and the spam musubi. Don't forget to grab a Hawaiian canned drink and their sauces are delicious too.

Cat N.

Yelp
Delicious Hawaiian bbq meat. I get the mix with chicken and beef, comes with macaroni salad and rice. It is a lot to eat for one unless you're really hungry. The owner is super sweet! They only have take out during the pandemic. Call ahead to order

Navoda P.

Yelp
I came here on a friend's recommendation, and I'm glad I did! The food- - Yummy crispy chicken katsu, probably the best I've had, on a bed of cabbage - delicious katsu sauce and aloha sauce - Decent macaroni salad (I'm not much of a macaroni salad connoisseur so I can't really attest to it being the best ever like other reviews have exclaimed) - Ok short ribs (not what I was expecting, also tough to cut even though the meat itself was juicy and succulent- I think this would be better if it were shredded)- I didn't feel that this was worth the extra charge it adds - Satisfying scoop of white rice - large portion considering this was the mini meal! - total ~9 The experience- - nice seating area of booths and tables, I felt comfortable eating here - friendly staff/managers - self serve utensils and sauces Overall, I'd come back, but maybe not for a while since it is on the heavier side health wise.

Derek R.

Yelp
Started off with an AMAZING customer service. Worker greeted, made conversation, complimented and asked about myself. Also offered recommendations for the meal and it turned out amazing. I had the BBQ combo mix meal and 2 spam musubi appetizers with a guava drink. Tried all 3 of their sauces and their sweet and aloha sauces were my favorite. The meats were cooked perfectly and paired with the rice, macaroni, and vegetables it tasted great. The sauce really brought it all together and the spam musubi was perfect. The best authentic Hawaiian food I've been too and definitely worth the drive. Excellent food and excellent service definitely made this a 5 star experience for me.

Lacey B.

Yelp
The food was amazing! Huge portions . Great prices . The staff was super hospitable! LGBTQ friendly! Great vibe we will definitely be coming back !

Teresa T.

Yelp
This place was so good!!! When I left town I had to get plenty of food and Aloha drinks to take home since we don't have a Hawaiian joint in Arkansas. Everything we tried was yummy and the lumpia was amazing!!!! Will be back when I come back to town!!

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Don't let the exterior fool you, this spot is so good! Get a combo platter and don't miss out on that sweet & spicy sauce! And, oh man, that macaroni salad is sooooo good! Yum!

Jon B.

Yelp
The service is always great and the food is amazing! Portion sizes are huge for the pricing (don't go raising prices now guys!). If you love Hawaiian BBQ, check this place out! They are on DoorDash and Postmates!

Jennifer T.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Everything I've gotten has always been so flavorful! I generally get the bbq chicken, rice, and macaroni salad. Out of all the Hawaiian bbq places I've eaten at their macaroni salad is the best! Highly recommend!

Margi B.

Yelp
The food here was delicious and the service friendly. Prices are reasonable. I enjoyed a fried chicken dish with creamy macaroni salad and white rice. Make your tummy happy and give them a try. I can't wait to go back!

Bradley M.

Yelp
Love this place, I lived on Oahu for 10years...this place is authentic Hawaiian. I eat here at least once a week.

Ben A.

Yelp
Great spot for some late nate grub! Quick, friendly service and delicious, reasonably priced food make this spot a local favorite. The katsu, the manapua, the mac salad, and their selection of Hawaiin juices are all standouts!

Chico B.

Yelp
OMG! I have missed Hawaiian food whenever I'm not in LA that's for sure. However, I did find my lil gem not long ago and have been a loyal customer to this great tasting cuisine. I order my fav which is the chicken katsu and spam masubi with spicy and sweet sauce. They close at 8pm FYI

Veronica R.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh, all the time! Mr. Said is ALWAYS super welcoming and kind. I always come kinda late because I get off of work late from the hospital, but he always serves me very well. He will go above and beyond to serve you well. He deserves a raise!

Frank L.

Yelp
Very delicious food. All the Hawaiian staples you expect, served perfectly. The service was incredible. Said was incredibly nice and personal with everyone I saw in there. I will definitely be coming back a lot

Esteban Q.

Yelp
Was hoping it would be comparable to Hawaiian Bro.s or Hawaiian Time....it most certainly was not.

Mindy L.

Yelp
I've had Hawaiian food in Hawaii as well as homemade Ones by Hawaiian friends and this is definitely the best casual Hawaiian food joint in Texas! Price is also reasonable for the amount of food and quality. Bbq beef and Kalua pork lunch special: comes with one scoop of rice and one scoop of macaroni salad. Both meats were flavorful and tender. The smoky flavor distinctive of Kalua pig was a little faint, but overall it was still good. Macaroni salad was good. I didn't care much for the rice as it was extremely mushy. Bbq chicken musubi: Delicious! Flavor was good and meat was very moist and juicy. Unfortunately, the rice had the same problem: mushy and over cooked Banana lumpia: Another favorite! Lumpias were on the oily side but very crispy and delicious. Comes with caramel sauce and a powdered sugar. Overall great casual spot for Hawaiian food! Would definitely return!

Madison P.

Yelp
I had to try aloha Hawaiian barbecue because it looked very similar to my all time favorite place that is in California (Hilos Hawaiian bbq). I ordered what I would usually order there, chicken katsu and spam musubi. First of all the portion sizes are great. I got a MINI meal, which looks like a full size meal, I still had to take leftovers home. The macaroni salad and rice that it comes were were both great! The chicken katsu was great! Good quality and crispy. The spam musubi wasn't the best I have had, but wasn't the worst! I still loved it and would get it again. While I am in Texas, it is the best Hawaiian bbq food I can get! I would definitely recommend. Staff was nice and polite and the inside had cute decor.

Mel N.

Yelp
Tucked away in a strip mall. It's more of a carry out place in the evening. The food is cheap and there is a LOT of variety! Reading everything on the menu and I didn't know what to choose. Ended up getting the Kalua pork with steamed cabbage. You get choice of sides: the default is 2 scoops of rice and 1 scoop of macaroni salad. But on the wall there are different combinations to choose from. I got fries and macaroni salad. The pork didn't really have much flavor (and I don't have super strong taste buds either.) The cabbage was cabbage. Just something to eat along with the meat. I liked the macaroni salad, but I'm sure some people would want more flavor. Skip the fries. This is obviously not a fries place, but I was craving it. I'm thinking it might be better if you sat down and ate it there versus taking it to go. Kind of disappointed with it because someone had 'recommended' this place.
