"Inside Aloha Kitchen’s UNLV location, diners can order plate lunches of kahlua pig, katsu chicken, and mahi mahi with rice and macaroni salad. In the morning, this fast casual spot has breakfast items like banana pancakes and spam. Or you can stop in until 10 p.m. for fried rice omelets and beef stew." - Janna Karel

Instead of doing lunch at Harry Reid, I had 7 hours to kill. So I took the bus down the street to try Aloha out. Was it worth it? I don't know. The place we packed but service quick. They got my order fairly quickly. Doing Keito, I ordered the Kalib for about $20. It looked good on the menu and in person. But the taste was lacking something. I wanted to add more salt to it but I knew my cardiologist would not approve of it. It did made me commit to carrying a sack of sea salt, going forward. Once I get home... They did asked me if there is anything else I needed but it would have been nice if they came by again to ask while I'm eating, too? I love the Hawaiian theme and songs. Not sure how authentic everything was but the vibe was tropical. Would I come back? Maybe. But you can bet that if I do, it'll be with a pinch of salt! -Hmong Foods on FB

Food is always excellent, served quickly, in good portions, fresh and delicious. Staff is very friendly and location is easy to access with plenty of parking. Always enjoy the Hawaiian Island Music playing over the speakers 🤙

I ordered the kalbi ribs with kimchee, and they were fantastic! The restaurant was clean and inviting, with super friendly staff greeting you right at the door. Highly recommend!

Having a Hawaiian friend has its perk sometimes, as they are able to show you some cool local spots like this. I was craving for some good Hawaiian food, and I'm so glad my friend was able to show me Aloha Kitchen! The Food: I went with the Aloha Plate. This includes Teriyaki Chicken, beef and chicken katsu. When I got the plate, it was huge and packed with food. The meats were delicious, cooked very well and I instantly got that feeling of being back in Hawaii enjoying some good food. If you're looking for something that will leave you satisfied and in a food coma, definitely get the combo plates. The prices were pretty good for what you get as well! The Service: Service was good. Was greeted when my friends and I walked in. Ordering process was simple. You just walk in, order at the front and pick a table to sit at. Food came out in a timely manner as well. No complaints at all. The Atmosphere: Nice and clean, with plenty of seating. Not much to say or noteworthy that stood out. Overall, a 5/5. Everything here was great. I highly recommend giving this spot a try. I'll be back again for sure.

I eat at a lot of places and this is by far one of the best in Vegas! The staff is very friendly and the flavorful proportions are amazing for the price. It's conveniently located right next to the college. I would recommend this to anyone in Vegas and I will definitely be returning! The best tempura plate I've ever had! Great job, Aloha Kitchen!

Good solid Hawaiian food. No frills and good portions. Clean, lots of options, big space.

Google
This is our go to location every time we’re in town & want our Hawaiian food fix. Everything from the welcome through the door, ordering, & the food coming out in a timely manner was just top notch! Place was clean & the atmosphere was aesthetically pleasing jamming to the island music! Family had the ox tail soup, garlic chicken with gravy, katsu bowl, pork belly plate, & lumpia Shanghai. Everything was so good! We will be back again!

Google
I come here often, I spend about 50$ every visit or more at a time. I asked the old lady for two sweet and sour sauce. I know I was pretty loud, I know as said it at least 3 times. I know she understood me loud and clear, but tell me why she only gave me one, but not only that she had a smirk on her face like she knew what she was doing. I would have paid extra if I had too but she refused to give me another one. Trust me one sweet and sour sauce is not enough for 3 chicken teriyaki bowls, and chicken Katsu. I hope aloha kitchen does better next time !

Yelp
This is the first offspring of the original restaurant on Decatur at Sahara. Side by side with Poke Heaven and Leilani's Attic, it forms part of the student capital of the 9th Island. A first sign of the success of this business is its impressive hours, from 8 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week. The menu sticks to the classic plate-lunch style of contemporary Hawaii. Unfortunately, this also means there are no vegan options (unlike Poke Heaven next door). Portion sizes are generous. During my most recent visit, we had the Saimin Soup and Adobo Fried Rice Omelette, which were outstanding. Service is friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Ordered through DoorDash for my family of four and was really disappointed. The lumpia came with a tiny 15ml cup of sauce for 10 pieces, absolutely ridiculous. We ordered four chicken katsu plates and not a single katsu sauce included. The chicken was the driest I've ever had. That said, the portions were huge for the price, and it all actually tasted delicious despite how dry it was. A little more sauce and moisture would've made it perfect!

Yelp
8/4/25 Affordable Hawaiian food that is straight forward and will fill you up. I got the 2 Meat Combo w/ Spam & Corned Beef Hash! Nothing memorable but definitely got the job done. I like Aloha Kitchen.

Yelp
Nice restaurant right outside of UNLV. You order at counter and they bring it to you. I was craving saimin so I came here and got the wonton min. It's a big bowl, the saimin was cooked right, but the char siu was not right. It was cold and had a wee bit of sour taste and smell, so I took it all out and didn't eat it. I didn't want to risk having to run to the john later on. Overall, place is clean, service is good and the lumpia Shanghai is always my favorite too.

Yelp
Used to come here a few years ago and the food was so good. Greeted as soon as you walk in. Good music playing. Well the food was as good as I remember! I had the Aloha Plate. Jammed packed with flavors. My husband was looking at his saying that's a lot of rice, but it was so good he ate all of it as I did with my food.

Yelp
I was not impressed with the service nor the food but it was late and they were open. Ordered the garlic chicken which was just badly grilled chicken with a garlic gravy sauce. We went to Generation Kitchen earlier in the week and was so spoiled. They set the bar high. This was more Flipino than Hawaiian.

Yelp
Aloha Kitchen is a great place for Hawaiian and Filipino food. You'll find them at University Square on Maryland, next to Riva's Mexican Grill. There's good parking. Atmosphere is laid back and casual with ample seating for a table or booth. Placing an order is done at the counter. Lumpia Shanghai ($8.49) is a fantastic snack, they give ten pieces that are excellent and crunchy, served with a nice sweet chili sauce. Fried Saimin ($12.49) is very filling and delicious! Noodles are nice and chewy. It has charsui pork sautéed with celery, cabbage, carrots, scallions, and egg. They sold out of Leche Flan. So I opted for Macaroni Salad ($3.99) which is tasty and also good. Service from Yoo and Kimmy is welcoming, friendly, and courteous.

Yelp
The service here can be a little better. Not getting the aloha experience. The fried chicken and chili was pretty good. I ordered a side of the short ribs and they were thin and expensive, $14.50 for 2 slices. Aloha used to be great but with matiki down the street it's no contest. A Hawaiian bbq place should smell like bbq and smoke. Won't be back as too many better options.

Yelp
Aloha Kitchen hit most of the right notes. My wife and I ordered in. We had kalua pork, katsu chicken, aloha plate, and spam musubi. Hands down, best Hawaiian BBQ I've had so far. But the Mac salad? Complete disaster. Like, who let that leave the kitchen? It sucked hard. Fix that mess and I'm all in. For now, still at the top of my list, just don't expect a decent side.

Yelp
We've been coming to this location for a while since it's close to home, but honestly, the food's been slipping over the past few years. I ordered the banana pancakes last time and was surprised to see them topped with strawberries and blueberries instead. I figured maybe there was a new cook and let it slide. Fast forward to today, I gave the banana pancakes another shot, and... same thing! No real banana flavor, topped again with the wrong fruit, and the sauce was clumpy. Definitely not what you get at the Decatur location! I ended up asking for regular syrup just so I could eat a bit and not waste it. Let's just say these pancakes had PMO

Yelp
Missing food from home so had to come here for breakfast and get the Adobo Fried Rice Omelette. Kids meal was pretty nicely portioned considering the price; fries were hot. Will definitely be back. Food came out fast and really hot. Service bringing food to the table was really nice.

Yelp
Was hung up on after first call, called again and they asked me to hold. Held for 20 minutes and got to the restaurant while I was still on hold. Got to the place and place was slammed of course with 1 person at the register but literally watched the lady take like 5 orders while I was still on hold the whole time. Regardless, I believe it would've been fair to atleast take my order in the order my call came in. It's not hard to politely ask the person in line to wait a second to take my order over the phone since I called before they got in line. No one's perfect but service definitely needs some work especially when it comes to prioritization.

Yelp
We dipped into this cute little restaurant on our way to the airport for a quick snackie snack before getting on this plane!! Place was clean, customers service was on point and the food was delicious! We ordered Spam Musubi & Lumpia Shanghai. Neither of these food chooses disappointed!! We will definitely be back for some yummy goodness!!

Yelp
We got a galbi and katsu combo plate and it was perfect for 2 people. We were able to sub out the chicken teriyaki for more katsu which was nice. Our cashier server was nice and took time to explain the menu options as well. Plenty of seating and right next door to other Hawaiian businesses (like the poke and vintage shop). Plenty of parking available. Katsu was juicy and crispy and the galbi was tender, although it was missing some soy garlic and sesame flavors in my opinion.

Yelp
Great place to have brunch at. Service was great, two employees that interacted with us, both very kind and helpful. Food came out very fast, with little wait time. The food was decent. Above average, but nothing phenomenal. I had ordered the Chicken Curry with rice and it was good. The meat was alright, a little too chewy, but nothing making it horrible. The vegetables within the curry were great and tasty. Rice was also good as normal. Inside is great! Lots of seating which includes a large table and lots of booths and tables for all party sizes. Great place to come and eat brunch or any meal if you're in the Las Vegas area. I had heard great things about Aloha Kitchen, and it has lived up to the expectations.

Yelp
I ordered the corned beef and hash with eggs and rice plate with a spam musubi on the side via DoorDash. The white rice they serve is long grain and is not fresh and tastes longer than a day old. The horrible taste and texture is the result of rice left out for over 3 days. The texture was very dry and held no moisture like standard cooked white rice typically holds. This causes the shape of the scoops in the corned beef and hash plate to lose its shape quickly when scooped out with a utensil. Island Sushi Grill and Aloha Sunrise Cafe scooped rice does not present this problem. The same rice is used in their spam musubi, which lost shape when I bit into it and the rice with the condensation of being wrapped in tin foil was disgusting. Spam musubi's are supposed to be tightly wrapped with very little to no mess when eating them. Their musubi had a stale, horrible taste, and fell apart after one bite. I threw away the spam musubi and the rice from my plate. They need a fresh batch of rice and have unfortunately lost me as an ongoing patron. White rice isn't supposed to taste like that. I'm Hawaiian and grew up with various rice options and textures. I do not recommend this place, go to Island Sushi Grill or Aloha Sunrise Cafe.

Yelp
Not sure how I have not given this place it's fair and well-deserved review yet. I've been eating here since about 2018 when I moved to Las Vegas. Since then, we've had Hawaiian food here, in Hawaii and other places may be not as much so worth mentioning. With that said, aloha kitchen is consistent, amazing and a place I will go to for Hawaiian food every time I have a craving. We all know that Las Vegas has great Hawaiian food places, and I've tried many of them. Trust me. This is one of the best. You order at the counter here and they deliver it to your table. The staff is always friendly and the place is always busy which just speaks to the good food.
google avatar

Yelp
Ate here 10 yrs ago when we moved to Vegas from Hawaii and was very disappointed and stayed away, saw some tic tok reviews that talked about how great the food was so We decided to give it another try and to our disappointment it was not acceptable, at least not to us, the crispy pork looked good, but the skin was too hard not crispy crunchy but break da teeth hard, the bbq chicken was terrible a little of it, they charged three dollars for cabbage and it was mostly cabbage with the chicken. Don't think we'll be going there again. I guess it's different strokes for different folks not for us, sorry guys. Staff was very pleasant and restaurant was clean ! You need to take a good look at your cook and dishes that are coming out of the kitchen, improve it !

Yelp
It was our last night in Vegas and wanted to try some 808 good in the 702. I got the Garlic chicken. It came with a gravy type sauce that I didn't expect. Had them put it on the side since it would make or break the meal. The gravy was garlicky so it was ok Hubby had the Adobo fried rice. They give a good amount of food and it was yummy. The service was great and friendly. We decided to eat there. The place is nice and clean. Although there was a strong smell of some kind of cleaner when you walk in. I guess you know that it's clean.
google avatar

Yelp
I almost never leave bad reviews...but my experience was so terrible I have to let others know. I ordered the Aloha Plate for $16.79 (not sure about the change amount). The teriyaki beef wasn't bad but there was almost zero teriyaki chicken, and it was like the kitchen poured teriyaki sauce over the entire plate. The chicken katsu was completely soaked and falling apart. It was nearly inedible. Not only was there almost zero teriyaki chicken in my plate, but the flavor was awful! But hey...the service was good and the rice was great?!
google avatar

A.J. C.

Yelp
Solid Hawaiian food and opened late late! They definitely come in handy when you want great stuff at a late hour. The menu is huge. My favorite thing is probably the adobo fried rice inside of the omelet.

Aton P.

Yelp
All the prices on Yelp are wrong. It's nearly DOUBLE for some items, like Kimchee. The local plate is listed on Yelp as $12.64 but when you get there it's actually $16.59 ... a side of Kimchee is actually $4.79 Overpriced and food kind of sucks. The rice is dry and old. Musubi tastes funky, and falls apart after one bite. Macaroni salad is definitely old. Tastes sour. Throwing this all away. $18 for this??? Waste of money and I'm still hungry.
google avatar

Vicki S.

Yelp
5 stars because this restaurant was super easy to get to and park at (at least on that particular Sunday morning). Service was friendly, there was plenty of seating, they gave generous portions, and it was a solid, tasty, and filling meal. Great way to start the day and to help power us through the heavy desert heat and all of the excitement that Vegas had in store for us.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best aspects of the Aloha Kitchen restaurants here in Las Vegas is that they are pretty consistent when it comes to taste and quality between the different locations. I swung by this UNLV location since the Charleston location wasn't open at the time. My go-to order of a Kalbi combo and a side of lumpia, hit the spot. I haven't been to this location in awhile, but I like it more than the Decatur location since they tend to give better pieces of Kalbi; bigger and more pieces. The teriyaki chicken had its usual signature crispy skin and the katsu chicken was fried perfectly. The lumpia I got was fried a bit too long. Definitely not enough to be inedible though. The mac salad was some what of a let down this time. It didn't have enough mayo and whatever other sauces they use, so it was somewhat "dry" and clumpy. Not the typical creamy and moist consistency that it would normally be. I left full and satisfied as I always do with the various Aloha Kitchen locations.
google avatar

Moichie C.

Yelp
Every time we visit Las Vegas, we make sure to stop at Aloha Kitchen because the food is always amazing! We love getting the Aloha Fried Chicken--the crunch is perfect, and the chicken is so juicy and flavorful. It's always cooked just right, and we can't get enough of it. We also usually order the Katsu Chicken, and it never disappoints. The breading is light and crispy, and the chicken itself is super tender. It's one of our go-to dishes when we're craving something tasty and filling. Our absolute favorite, though, is the Adobo Fried Rice Omelette. It's such a unique dish with the fluffy omelette wrapped around savory adobo fried rice. The flavors are spot on, and it's always the highlight of our meal. We can't recommend this place enough!

Yelp
Miss the local Hawaiian plate lunches. Head over to this place. Mix plate: Mahi mahi nice and moist. Teri beef and teri chicken nicely cooked and full of flavor. Course two scoops rice and one scoop mac salad. Kalbi plate is thin cut short ribs and thin is the word. Would like to see a little more meat on the bones. Fried saimin serving was a little small. You can refer to my photo. Lovely and friendly ladies greeting you as you walk in and not rushing you to order. Pros: Great home food in a pinch and craving that home plate lunch from home. Large in door sitting area. Large menu to choose from. Don't think they missed anything. Cons: Wish the kalbi haf a little more meat on them. Would I go back? Yes. The plates are just like home. They got all the local flavors down.
google avatar

Jennifer S.

Yelp
This place is a must stop for me at anytime when in Vegas. My husband and I stopped here on the way home to Cali after watching a Raider game and it did not disappoint. We always order the Adobo Fried Rice Omelette and Ox Tail Soup but this time I also added a breakfast plate with spam and corned beef to the mix. I wanted Portuguese sausage but they didn't have any that morning. There was also a slight wait but everything came out super fresh and hot so it was worth it. Will always come here when in Vegas!
google avatar

Tasha-Shea F.

Yelp
Mini but mighty location. Food here is always ono and consistent. We love the Kalbi combo and lumpia shanghai, but we've also ordered catering platters and breakfast. Everything is good. Service is always quick, friendly and efficient. This Aloha Kitchen is always a go-to. Sad we don't live next door anymore. Side note: the bar next door serves food directly from their kitchen as well.
google avatar

Eme E.

Yelp
Did a phone order and the gentleman that took my order had exceptional customer service. He was very patient and ordered everything correctly. He even let me do 3 different orders over the phone. The food was hands down amazing from the spam masubi to the spicy pork adobo omelette. Although I would've preferred chicken adobo they didn't have any available. They short kalbi ribs were also good I did a side order of that and shot Shanghai lumpias which was also just like how my mom makes it. Would definitely come back here again when in Vegas! If you love Hawaiian and Filipino food this is the place
google avatar

Katherine P.

Yelp
What can I say... this place still hits the spot. So many options to choose from whether it's breakfast or a Hawaiian specialty like a loco moco or katsu. My go to is loco moco which is white rice with a ground beef patty smothered in gravy with an over easy egg. So delicious. Don't skip on the adobo fried rice omelette, maybe order for the table so everyone can try it. Very generous portions of every dish and you can't go wrong with truly anything you order. It's an order at the counter, seat yourself spot so very casual down home family spot.
google avatar

Travis S.

Yelp
1 cook in the back getting slammed with ordered while two girls up front just converse. Long wait times for a musubi and loco moco unreallll
google avatar

Irene A.

Yelp
Service was fast I can't complain it's open late so I had to try. I wanted to taste something super close to home cooking Hawaiian style. One thing I love about Hawaiian food is a combination of different cultures. Had the spam musubi nothing special missing furikake n the sauce for grazed on spam was not even close. The she noodles saimin I was looking forward on the fish cake but I was so disappointed or kamaboko. Could have a little bit more flavor on the broth. I think I was trying to reminisce the flavor I remember as a kid

Ken H.

Yelp
The food was very good. I feel the quality & price for Hawaiian restaurants are much better than the "popular" ones at the tourist spots. Better tasting food at a cheaper price. Let the tourist pay more money for less quality.
google avatar

Bevmo G.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken and chili plate combo. The chicken came out pipping hot, fresh, and flavorful. The chili was awesome as well. Big chunks of ground beef and whole kidney beans, and it was homemade.
google avatar

Noel C.

Yelp
Stopped by for breakfast yesterday got the Adobo fried rice omelet and side Mac salad. Hit the spot. Delicious. Staff was friendly. Will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
My boyfriend got Food poisoning from a late night order of spam musubi here. Avoid the spam musubi if it seems like it's not fresh.
google avatar

Yelp
Drove in from LA, wanted something hot and fresh. A few customers sitting. No waiting. You order and seat yourself. Overall the food was just ok. We ordered the chicken katsu plate. Honestly, there was no taste to anything. Second order was the kalbi plate and the only thing good on that plate were the short ribs. Seasoned and grilled to perfection. Last order was the chicken teriyaki plate. No one at our table has more then two bites. I definitely won't be returning if we are beer back in the area. As for as the inside of the place it's medium sized. Good for groups. Definitely was vibing off the music. Happy yelping.

Jo H.

Yelp
Too expensive small portions and quality isn't there. This is the second time this place lets me down They charge 5 dollars for a side that comes in a small bowl and is gone in 3 bites. Wow
google avatar

Kris B.

Yelp
Being from Hawaii I'm kinda a snob when it comes to local food. The chicken Katsu was crunchy and fried nicely the kalua pig was not what I'm used to and the macaroni salad was somewhat bland. The portions were large and served with the normal 2 scoops of rice like most plate lunches in Hawaii. I enjoyed my experience it just didn't blow me away or invoke memories of home.
google avatar

Yelp
Tapsilog always comes with a broth!Anything is possible to make a customer satisfied

Yelp
Always a great meal when I pick up food from Aloha Kitchen for my team members. My go-to would be the Saimin add spam, Kalbi Ribs, and Shanghai Lumpia. One of my visits, they did mess up on my order and forgot my lumpia, and they didn't include the char sui in my saimin when I specifically said I wanted both char sui and spam. I called the restaurant to let them know, then on my next visit, they gave me lumpia, which was fine since I didn't want to drive back.
google avatar

Melanie H.

Yelp
How did I live in Vegas for almost 13 years and not know how good the food is here?! I've passed this place a thousand times and had no idea. My daughter wanted Hawaiian BBQ before we headed to the airport so we stopped here. She had the teriyaki chicken kids plate and we shared the chicken bbq plate. I was so disappointed that we had to rush though our meal. The chicken was tender and seasoned perfectly. The macaroni salad was a bit dry TBH, but the chicken made up for it, and the fries are addicting.
google avatar

Nigel A.

Yelp
KALBI RIBS. PORK LUMPIA. SPAM MUSUBI. All must try's here. KalBi ribs has got the be one of the best KalBi I have ever tasted in my life. Such a sweet sauce glazed on the perfect grilled kalbi. With the right amount of charcoal is bound to add so much flavor. Just such a tasty dish, way more flavor than other local restaurants that include Kalbi on their menu; Lefty J Island Favorites & Matiki island bbq. Point is do not regret not buying this dish as you will wish you can eat it over & over again

Yelp
02/2024 Located near UNLV. Cousin from Florida wanted some local Hawaii foods. Restaurant is pretty big and clean. Cousin ordered the combo katsu and teriyaki beef. He loved it and devoured it. Husband got the special of crispy pork belly ...it took a little longer to cook but it was so worth it. It was crispy and delicious. That is a must order if you love fried pork belly. I got the garlic chicken and requested gravy on the side. It was okay but it's better with gravy on top. I wasn't use to having garlic chicken as a whole boneless thigh. It's not bad but most people would like it. I'm use to garlic chicken being bite size pieces. Staff was awesome. I'd still come back. Hoping they still have crispy fried pork. Happy eats!

Mike M.

Yelp
I had the combo with kalbi, chicken katsu, bbq chicken, rice and mac salad. I also ordered a side of kimchi. Everything was real good. Kalbi had some char for that added flavor. Bbq chicken and chicken katsu was cooked perfectly. Order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. Nice restaurant. I'd estimate there to be at least a dozen tables. The best and most memorable "local" plate lunch I've had in the states or in Hawaii. Loved it. Will be back...

Yelp
So glad to see local HI people working there!! Talk story wit da girl from Ewa, so nice. Got da ox tail ramen and was sooo good. Good aji and lots of meat. 2 of da bones was fist size. Will definitely come back.

Jinso

Yelp
The worst Hawaiian food that I have ever had. Teriyaki chicken and beef was bland. They took to long to cook the food even though there was barely anyone there. They even forgot to give me my macaroni salad. I'm never going to this location ever again.

Yelp
My friend brought me here while I was in town and it was pretty great! The service is prompt, the workers are all super cool and nice to you, and the food is SENSATIONAL. What more can you ask for? I ordered the Adobo Fried Rice Omelette and it was fucking incredible. Have never had a dish quite like it and don't even know where to find one back in LA. It was so good!! The rice was so flavorful and cooked to perfection and mixing it in with the eggs and some Tabasco was goddamn perfect. Next time I'm in Vegas, I'm coming back here for sure :)
