Yelp
Folks - please don't fall for the long line of patrons who are scrambling to put down their names and the number of their party at this joint.
Aloha Kitchen offers both breakfast and lunch options, but they are a first-come, first-serve basis; due to this, you'll see a formation of a line at least half an hour before their opening.
With this hype, we got sucked in to try them out, even though the locals told us to stay away... of course, we didn't listen and wanted to check this place out ourselves.
We ordered:
+the Loco Moco - there are 3 versions, with a beef patty, with a wagyu beef patty, or with shredded pork; we went for the Wagyu loco, which came with 2 eggs, white rice, and a homemade gravy sauce
+their Coco macnut souffle - the house's signature fluffy pancake, served with whip cream
+their Apple alamode souffle - the house's signature fluffy pancake, with caramelized apples, cinnamon, and ice cream
+an 'Ono' meal set - comes with 2 eggs, Portuguese sausage (breakfast meat options also include bacon, turkey bacon, ham, link sausage, or Spam), breakfast potato and fried rice (there is also wheat toast, white rice, and salad as an option)
All the items we had ordered were super underwhelming and almost inedible - the Loco Moco was super dry, and the gravy didn't help, as it was flavorless; the eggs were not cooked the way that we had requested, and the white rice was not cooked properly (not sure how this is possible). The souffle were not 'fluffy' but runny and were definitely raw inside.
Service was inattentive and dismissive.
Not sure how this place is the preferred breakfast spot compared to other spots in the area...
No dice, Aloha Kitchen.
