Aloha Mac Shack

It was a nice breezy night at Aloha Mac Shack! I Ordered a Cheese Burger with Fries and a Famous Mac And Cheese 🧀 it’s so creamy and has a lot of flavor it reminds me of a Southern Old school Mac & cheesy I Love it 😍 The cheese Burger is very simple yet delicious and made fresh! I was very impressed with the food truck industry too! All the vendors are responsible price and so many variety of foods and Good Vibes💕everyone should check it out while stay in Waikiki and Oahu! Highly Recommended Aloha Mac Shack!

This place has the most insane burgers ever! I had the bacon Mac burger with buns made of deep fried Mac and cheese instead of regular buns. It was insanely tasty and made me feel like a little kid again as I was super excited to taste something so wild! It didn’t disappoint in any way except for the price, but considering how much food I got it’s pretty justifiable!

So good!! I ordered the Mac daddy double with jalepeno bun - the bun is literally a patty made out of jalepeno Mac and cheese. I had to eat it with a fork - absolutely no way to actually eat like a burger BUT no complaints! It was delicious and fun! My young daughters split a chicken wrap - it has Mac and friend and chicken in it. Nice guys, good service, cool place

Mac and cheese bombs were delicious. Lots of cheese flavor and cheese galore.

Decided to buy the spicy chicken burger, tasted really great. The buffalo sauce makes the burger taste a bit spicy. The fries also taste very great. Would recommend.

I truly wish I had the experience that everyone else has reported of amazing food and service. Unfortunately that wasn’t my experience. I got the Mac bowl with chicken on top. The Mac and cheese noodles were dry and crunchy with some curdled cheese just added on top. The chicken was also dry and tasted like it was not seasoned. There was no care or aloha in the food. The service was fine nothing remarkable or bad but the food was truly disappointing especially as I got Mac and cheese which was the signature dish. Especially for $20….

Yooooooo if you're looking Mac that has it all this is the one . I mean creamy , savory and so many ways to give it a go. I got the deep fried Mac balls with cream sauce and it was 🔥 . I also got the burger to split with the family and this wasn't my forst time trying Mac in a burger bit this one hit different maybe it's there seasonings or the cheese but I'm not sure but I'd go again that for sure.

One of the trucks at the food truck park. Service and atmosphere was fine, but that doesn’t count too much for a food truck in my opinion. My girlfriend and I tried the chicken wrap and the jalapeño mac bombs. Disappointed with both orders. The chicken wrap needs acid because it is otherwise tortilla, fried chicken, French fries, and Mac n cheese (nothing but salt and fat). It had little flavor, and there was not enough sauce to balance the fattiness or dryness. The Mac bomb also lacked flavor and acid. They took a blob of fried Mac n cheese and made a thick, cheese dipping sauce as the sauce. I did not find many jalepenos in it either. Maybe their other stuff is good, or maybe it was an off day. However, I think I would have been happier with food from any of the other food trucks instead.

It took a bit of time- but the wait was worth it! Best Mac and cheese ever -not even kidding.

We ordered a chicken wrap with buffalo sauce which came with Mac in it. We were expecting a cheesy Mac and cheese, but instead it tasted like plain noodles with no flavor. The chicken was the only saving grace, but the sauce was on one side of the wrap. Fries were crispy, but lacked seasoning. Disappointing considering their name.

Terrible food. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! Not even fried correctly and honestly just a complete disappointment. $50 worth of food gone to waste.. SAVE YOUR MONEY & GO ELSEWHERE!!!!!

The quesa-mac is so good! Very friendly workers. With it in the food truck park there is options for everyone in your group.

Visited Thursday 8/1 with my family, there were 5 of us including 2 who are vegetarian. We got items from other trucks and were pleased. We also ordered a plain large Mac n cheese from Aloha Mac Shack. It took about 20 minutes to get our order. Once we opened it we were surprised, it was a small amount of dried out macaroni with a small amount of "cheese" sauce on it. I took it back to the truck to ask if this was their $20.00 plate, they confirmed it was. They were nice enough to take it back to "fix" it. After 5 minutes it was returned the same way just more. I didn't want to post this publicly but no one responded to my messages on IG. Please see the picture.

At first I was excited customer service was good and it took about 14 minutes to get my food which was great but after taking a bite I'm super disappointed everyone was raving about the seasoning and I'm not sure how ? The burger was thin and a little seasoned the Mac n cheese wasn't seasoned AT ALL . The fries were good and fresh but I would not order the burger it was a very hard thing to eat as the cheese buns were large but they weren't creamy or anything just big and fried . Would not recommend .

The Mac bomb was delicious. I hope you're hungry. This will fill you up. Great food and nice staff.

Service was nice and food was fresh. Unfortunately not much flavor we got the cheddar Mac and cheese bombs and it was cold on the inside and not much flavor. The burger was big but also not much flavor. It also took a long time to make the food. We had high hopes and felt bad reviewing only 3 stars cause the server was amazing

The spicy chicken sandwich was so hard to bite. Dry and hard. I threw it in the trash. What a waste of money.

Great food! Worth the stop and taste for a unique spin on Mac and cheese dishes. They have a variety of different things Mac and cheese can be made into! I had the Chicken Mac and Cheese Wrap. Bomb.com!

This place is brutal. Took forever to get food. The food was not really worth the wait.

Great food and customer service. The atmosphere is also nice and enjoyable. Since we were one of the last customers they threw in some free fried chicken.

After three days of trying to check out this business, I can see exactly why the food ran out. This was the best mac & cheese I have had in a really long time. This also includes being better than most places in my home state! Macaroni was cooked perfectly, well seasoned, and super cheesy. I paired steak with it and that was great as well. I would definitely try this dish again no questions asked! I wish I had a photo, but I only thought about it after I ate it. Service was fantastic. It felt like a really warm, welcoming family at a cookout.

Just when you think it's imPASTAble they certainly did it!! Lucky to find this golden yummy at the What the truck Kaka'ako Makai held every second Fridays at the former Fisherman's Wharf location which is a stunning place. Aloha Mac Shack has transformed our classic Mac and Cheese into a bougie treat you'd been dreaming of into reality with menu items from their grab and go (Mac Shack Burger, Mac Shack Chicken Wrap and Mac Shack Dog) to plate lunch (Steak, Chicken or Kalua Pig) which of course include Mac and cheese as a side. Strolling around taking in the super chill vibe while enjoying the musical entertainment of the night I decided on a much more portable item like the Mac Shack Dog simply put hot dog all surrounded by golden Mac and cheese and fried to the most incredible crispiest masterpiece! Mind you it is all made to order of course so it does take some time which was about a ten minute wait but is it worth it...absolutely!! Being that I was warned to give it a moment to cool which I took full advantage of that time to finding a spot to chill, the outer coating is just super crispy and amazingly held all that yumminess in perfectly even as I bit into it each and every time and it gets even better dipping it all in that velvety cheese sauce that I couldn't get enough of lol! Review Update!! I got to try Aloha Mac Shack again at the What The Truck event at Waikele. And I saw they got new items on the menu! You can now get mac and cheese on its own, fried mac and cheese bites and the mac shack dog. I'm glad we got to try some!! All so delicious. Mac and cheese bites -- it's deep fried mac and cheese. It's self explanatory but taste so amazing! 10/10!! And it also came with a side of cheese sauce!!! AMAZING!! Mac Shack dog -- it's similar to the korean hotdogs. But it's got mac and cheese and hotdog. I don't eat pork, so I had to ask them what kind of hotdog they use and they use kosher ones, so it's BEEF!! YAY! I'm really glad I got to try more of their items! Definitely will get some food from them again! Not only you get to have delicious food but also excellent customer service!! Give this place a try next time! Totally worth it!

The value for $20 Mac n cheese bowl is sadly not there :( nothing extraordinary, portion is very tiny and I'm 120lbs woman, for a dude this would be 2 bites. Other shacks offer more food for $20, I understand with inflation and prices etc but macaroni is cheap. In the food truck nearby for only $15 you can get tons of meat, this doesn't even have meat. Worth to try once but not to come back maybe

Probably one of the best fried chicken plates I've ever eaten in Hawaii. Crispy juicy on the inside, right amount of salt and the mac/potato salad was bomb! Super quick service, the place is not as well lit at night but such a nice atmosphere.

Came here on a Saturday afternoon and was looking at all the items on this food truck then was greeted by friendly roger at the truck and ordered a chicken wrap with bbq sauce and man the service was fast! I got my food in 10 minutes or so but this is a wrap that didn't disappoint

The guy making my sandwich was wearing gloves but used the same one pair of gloves to touch my foods (fries, bread, chicken, etc), other customers cash, and everything in the truck. I didn't even eat the sandwich due to poor food handling.

Food was pretty dam good and the Mac and cheese was on point. Food was not a long wait and the crew was nice and friendly. The food was well seasoned without being to much or really heavy. I got the burger with the deep fried mac n cheese for buns. It was an experience and delicious but probably not something I would get more then once. They definitely do it right through. The "buns" were not over cook or dry. Just crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside. Would recommend.

Found this truck at the Gary Levox concert at Aloha Stadium parking lot. By this time in the evening they were out of everything except the mac and cheese bites, so I decided to try them. They had a good flavor, were fried fresh to order, and were topped with a bit of grated parmesan. Taylor said it was a bit dry inside for his tastes, but I thought they tasted pretty good. At $5 a ball, they are a bit expensive, but that is the case with most food trucks. Can't wait to try more of their options next time I see them around town!

The guys working the truck were super nice and the portions are solid. The Mac and cheese was surprisingly bland and the fries were a little limp. The spicy chicken sandwich was awesome, the burgers were average. Definitely on the pricy side and the area gets sketchy at night. When we stopped by there was someone who appeared to be on drugs screaming at those passing by. Certainly not the food trucks' fault but it guaranteed we won't return.

He wouldn't stop eating for me to take a picture! It's just that good! Mac bomb came out hot and crispy and amazing. In a cute little food truck group with other great options to get a drink to go with it! Very relaxing place to eat.

Definitely a family friendly food environment. The burgers are amazing, but the fried Mac and Cheese bombs are my favorite. The chef is full of aloha and sets great expectations on how long your order will take.

FAVORITE BURGER ON ISLAND. I love mac and cheese, and I love burgers, but NEVER have I thought to mix the two, but it works out perfectly! The mixture compliments each other so well, and I will often be back for more. The fries are also top tier, very tasty fries. Overall this meal is worth every penny. So delicious! Keep up the amazing work. 10/10 recommend.

We got the Mac and cheese bombs from here in the little food truck area it was parked. They were great, moderately sized, and served with ranch. They are a tad oily, but otherwise very good and wish we would've got to try more menu items of theirs before we left.

Whoever was on chicken wraps tonight seriously deserves a big hug. Not too cheesy or saucy. Definitely worth the price! I also feel like the portion was great in size!

Seen this food truck at a recent Kapolei commons event. There was a pretty long line which told me the food must be good. There were many choices but I settled on the Fried Chicken plate. I'm glad I did. Chicken skin is nice and crispy and the meat is juicy and tender on the inside. Plate comes with rice and a side of either the Mac & cheese or Mama's potato salad. I ordered an extra side to taste it all. I also ordered a cheeseburger and fries to give that a go too. Both dishes were amazingly delicious. I do believe the potatoes in the salad could've used a little more boiling. There was a crunch in them still. The gentlemen running the food truck was super helpful, took time to talk me and others though the menu. I'd eat here again and will recommend it too.

How are y'all called mac shack and promote Mac n cheese on your food and tell me y'all are out of mac. Parking also sucks in this area so a lot of hastle and excitement for nothing.

Based on the reviews I was expecting more. Mac daddy burger with bacon is what I ordered... meat itself was unseasoned, the Mac and cheese also tasted very bland. I didn't realize until we had finished but the bacon went unnoticed (not sure if they forgot it or it was just so little)

The food and the service is outstanding! To put this into perspective, I generally have never been big on mac and cheese. That is, until I ate mac and cheese made by Aloha Mac Shack! The flavor is unreal and the unique offerings of it are one of a kind! I never thought I'd find myself eating mac and cheese in a burger but it's brilliant! Not to mention the deep fried mac n cheese balls! As amazing as the food is, I gotta say it's the owners that make this place special to me. Such warmhearted individuals that serve their customers and community with so much love! Please consider supporting this business! Even if you're like me, and don't realize how much you love mac and cheese yet!

Visited on a Sunday night around 7PM at the food truck park at the corner of Niu street and Kalākaua avenue. I ordered the Mac Daddy burger and fries. They originally gave me a Mac Shack burger (scoop of mac n cheese within the burger) instead of the mac n cheese bun, but they were able to make a mac n cheese bomb additionally to make up for it which took another 10 minutes or so. We took the food to our airbnb which took maybe another 5 minutes but by the time we got there, the fries were cold and a bit soggy, and the burger was kinda warm. The burger was okay but the mac n cheese in the burger was unseasoned and didn't really have a roux. It was just macaroni with some shredded partially melted cheese. We had better hopes for the mac n cheese bomb but it as well was unseasoned with macaroni and shredded cheese, no real roux. The breading on the bomb was really thick and less like a breading and more like a crust. I've never tried to fry mac n cheese before so maybe that's the only way to fry it, but for me, it wasn't satisfactory. I think that maybe with a richer more seasoned roux, a smaller patty for the cheese bomb, and maybe a different breading for the bomb itself, it would've been tastier. I don't know if we were there on an off day because some of the other reviews say it was amazing or if there's been a different recipe being used, but I did see something about someone passing away recently so that could be why things are off. Condolences for their loss and hoping in the future they're back to the quality that they're known for.

Terrific experience here. The burger made with a fried jalapeño Mac n cheese bun was delicious. Customer service was some of the best I've received. Very friendly and honest about the wait time (10-15 minutes). Well worth the wait as the quality is amazing here along with reasonable prices for Honolulu.

Writing this review live from the Kapolei Str'eats event as my boyfriend raves about his Buffalo Mac shack wrap. Shoutout to the man behind the counter for hustling! This ohana runs a delicious food truck with Aloha Their Mac and cheese is fresh, yummy and filled with love. We also enjoyed their mac and cheese bites and their mac and cheese burger. We loved it all and will definitely be back for the yummy grindz!! Mahalo for sharing your Aloha with all of us.

this place was absolutely amazing . The service was good but it says that they open at 12 and me and my grandma had walked from our hotel got there a bit early and when it opened we had to wait 15 minutes after. other than that great service the guy working was very nice and the food . I got the mac and cheese bombs and the sauce that came with it was absolutely mouth watering. great place!
