Hawaiian-Born Aloha Mamacita Will Unleash Saucy Birria Tacos in Clark County | Eater Vegas

"Born as a Hawaiian food truck, this concept is expanding outside Hawaii for the first time with a new spot opening in mid-February at 4195 South Grand Canyon Drive; the menu highlights saucy, crunchy birria tacos and also features birria bao and birria ramen, and the location was most recently home to VeggieEat Xpress." - Stephanie Carter

So many mouthwatering options, it was like a flavor fiesta! The vibe leans into a lively mix of Mexican, Spanish, and Latin fusion, basically, your taste buds go on vacation without needing a passport. Every dish we tried was a hit, satisfying, and full of personality. The dining area had that perfect balance of fun and cozy, like a spot you could bring a date or your foodie besties. Service? On point. Friendly, fast, and they somehow knew exactly when we were ready to order or needed another round of something delicious. And let’s talk desserts, our non-negotiable finale. The banana pudding is smooth, creamy comfort in a cup, and the ube pudding? A purple dream that tastes like sunshine and good decisions. We never leave without them, and honestly, we probably never will.

Cute place but my main food was not great and the service was off. The staff were very friendly but lacked attentiveness. We had to grab our own napkins as we couldn't get their attention. It took a while to order and get the bill because of that too. The strawberry matcha latte was amazing. I highly recommend that. The avocado sauce was good but my street taco meats were over cooked. The cookie butter cheesecake cup was delicious. They validate for the parking structure as well.

Birria everything! It was delicious and we just kept eating. Definitely pricey but worth a fun culinary experience. Garlic shrimp was spicy and yummy! The birria crunch wrap and cheese bombs are 🔥!! We also tried the ube horchata and Dubai chocolate latte. Ended with wayyy too many puffs. Honestly the puffs ended up being my least favorite. The cream left a tackiness in the mouth and ube tasted only of food dye. The strawberry redeemed the lot!

Google
Cool vibe and friendly staff, but the food was a letdown. Portions were tiny, the tacos felt more like taco bites, and the bao came with what looked like three big nuggets. The chicken itself was dry and tasted like it had been sitting out a while (or overcooked). The Aloha punch tasted like Jumex. Nice place, but definitely not worth the price for what you get.

Update: Birria tacos were good. Thai dishes were only good when the Thai chef cooks and she supposedly only works during the day (this not dinner). When I returned for dinner and ordered the same dishes, the food quality was more like a 3-star. Original review (when lunch was cooked by Thai chef): Super delish Thai, Vietnamese, birria tacos fusion food and really nice atmosphere with dog-friendly patio options. Even the mild spicy level dishes are very flavorful. Great presentation. I ordered tom kha and pad see yew, best I’ve had in town, food quality is on-par with Opal Thai!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but my experience at Aloha Mamacita was so good it deserves recognition. From start to finish, everything was amazing. The sauces were exceptional, the tacos were bursting with flavor, and the horchata was absolutely delicious. The caramel mocha was a perfect touch, and the birria dipping tacos were some of the best I’ve had. Desserts were another highlight—the banana dish and the puffs are both must-tries, each one absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is incredible: stylish, modern, and inviting. With beautiful greenery, outdoor seating, and clean, comfortable indoor seating, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal. A special shoutout to our server Jamie. She gave excellent service, was very knowledgeable about the menu, and offered great suggestions on food combinations. Her attentiveness really added to the experience. Finally, whoever designed this Mexican–Thai fusion menu deserves applause—the flavors are creative, well-balanced, and just plain delicious. If you’re in the area, don’t miss Aloha Mamacita. This place is a gem!

Google
Food was amazing! However, I had really bad experience with my reservation. I called in days before to make reservation but the guy put me on the wrong time so I had to call again to correct it. He also told me that cake is not allowed (he called me back to say he was wrong) and happy hour starts at 8pm (no happy hour on weekends). Day of the reservation, we got there to find out that there was no reservation under my name even though I got a confirmation message. Maybe it’s a system issue idk. We love this place and would still go back to hopefully turn this review around

Had high hopes for this place. Calamari’s breading is not seasoned at all. Thai chicken came cold and uncooked in the middle and did not look appetizing when it arrived. One half of the Birria crunch wrap was great the other half not so good. Bread pudding was delicious. Had to ask for napkins, straws, and waitress was very rude after having to fix the chicken issue. She even posed as the manager when someone else already mentioned the manager was a male named Kevin. Waitress are all over the place and not attentive at all. I wondered if they are short staffed which is okay, that happens. However that should be communicated. The atmosphere is cute but birds and flies around the table the entire meal and we were sitting inside. I did speak up and head of service Shelby she said her name did fix the issue with a refund. She also mentioned it was her first day and that’s why she was there, to train staff to improve. We do appreciate her help. Will not be returning.

Yelp
I had been wanting to check out Aloha Mamacitas Grinchmas Bar, so we came on a Friday afternoon at around 4:00pm. It wasn't too crowded because they had a private event at 5:00pm and we really appreciated them seating us despite being busy. We ordered 2 of their holiday martinis: S'mores and Gingerbread. We also ordered the birria fries. The fries were nice and crispy, and loaded with melted cheese and birria. We also really liked the raw onion and jalapeño on top. The drinks were fun and festive but a bit watered down, however I have heard good things about their matcha and desserts, so I hope to come back sometime to try other options from their menu. Parking is available in the waterfront plaza garage. Unfortunately didn't realize they validated and I will have to remember that next time.

Yelp
Went here on a Saturday night to try the new holiday-themed drinks. I've visited Aloha Mamacita on a few other occasions, either going here just to enjoy their food or to enjoy whatever themed cocktails they have available. I've only been here on Saturdays, both during the day and night. If you plan on going here on a Saturday night, be prepared to wait anytime between 30 min. and 1 hour. Food-wise, I normally get their birria fries which come loaded with toppings such as onions, meat, cheese, and sour cream. It's definitely shareable between two people! It's a little greasy but man does it hit the spot. I have tried some of their desserts but it's personally too sweet for my taste. Aloha Mamacita does absolutely amazing with their themed cocktails though! This year, I've tried their Halloween-themed cocktails and Christmas-themed cocktails. The jello shots are fun to eat but can be a little strong. My favorite drink so far has been the Pumpkin Spice Martini which literally just tastes like a spiked pumpkin spice drink. You can feel the alcohol burn in your throat but I think the drink went down easily for me because of the whipped cream on top.

Yelp
I've been to Mamacita several times for both lunch and dinner, and the experiences have been very hit or miss. The restaurant itself is pretty big. It can get pretty crowded there during both lunch & dinner hours. The one consistent issue has been the severe understaffing. During both lunch and dinner visits, our food arrived well before our drinks. The staff was clearly doing their best, but they were stretched thin--servers were rushing between tables, and there was only one bartender making drinks for the entire restaurant. The food itself is actually pretty good. I really enjoy their Thai dishes like the pad see ew, and their birria tacos and appetizers are solid as well. Their non-alcoholic drinks, like the matcha, are also tasty. The last two times I visited for dinner to try their holiday drinks, we ran into the same issue: the food came out long before the drinks because there was only one bartender. The service during dinner has consistently been terrible, even though the food is good. At this point, I would only return for lunch. I genuinely want to see this place succeed, especially since it started out as a small business, but they really need to hire more staff if they want to keep up with demand.

Yelp
We pretty much come here for the desserts cheesecakes. There have been none of them which we disliked. They are so addicting and have us keep coming back for more. My favorite is between Ube and the ube banana. My kid loves cookie butter. We did try the curry and pad kee mao. Both were super salty for our liking. And we are Thai. there is free validated parking in the structure. We ordered to go although when we went in at 4 PM there were no customers. it's definitely a place you can do takeout and then sit at the row bar.

Yelp
Parking: located in waterfront plaza with validated parking Service: table service Ambiance: love the holiday themes! right now it's decked out with holiday decor and have Christmas themed cocktails Food: would recommend the birria bomb bites, birria Crunchwrap, calamari, and panang curry
google avatar

Jam A.

Yelp
They have a Grinch Christmas Christmas bar. They were closed for a private party. But we did have fun taking pictures of the decorations at the front door.

Yelp
This spot is usually packed, and the wait tends to be long. I'd heard mixed reviews about both the service and food, so I was a bit skeptical. I decided to stop by mainly because of their promotion and opted for takeout to avoid the wait. I tried their dessert promotion -- a BOGO free deal. Normally, one dessert costs around $6-$7, which is pretty pricey. I got the strawberry cheesecake and banana pudding. Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed. Both were overly sweet, and most of the dessert seemed to be whipped cream on top. Overall, the desserts were just okay. Maybe the food is better, but I'm not sure I'd come back just for the sweets.

Yelp
After almost 12 hours of waiting for the spouse who was at an appointment in Waterfront Plaza, I needed some F&B fuel. ATMOSPHERE: The otherwise ho-hum vibe was brightened by the live entertainment at the neighboring Row Bar. But, Aloha Mamacitas went all out on their Halloween decor as well as a fun drink menu that included a "Dracula's Blood Bag" which was a whiskey-based, red-hued drink served in an IV bag. MENU: A mishmash of Mexican, Thai and local Hawaiian dishes. No burritos. BEVERAGE: Lychee Spritz Damn, this was delish! It tasted like a fizzy mai tai, with sweet and creamy notes, garnished with a whole lychee. I definitely would've ordered another if I didn't have to leave! Highly recommended. FOOD: Birria Nachos I was so excited at the mention of "birria", I failed to read that the dish included nacho cheese (in addition to real cheese). While not a deal breaker, the use of entirely real cheese would've made this a 5-star experience. The shredded beef was moist and intensely infused with textbook birria flavors. I wished guac and olives came with, but only jalapeños were included. SERVICE: I was greeted by a friendly gal who turned out to be my server. Everyone was great. OVERALL: That lychee spritz is still on my mind...

Jenna R.

Yelp
Been here a few times located at Waterfront Plaza. Today I ordered the birria tacos, which were tasty as usual. Stopped in for the Halloween decorations and cocktails. There were out of most Halloween cocktails. :-(( We were told the Dracula's Blood Bag was out of stock but then saw another table order it and receive it. *sigh* My mom and I's cocktails were good and on theme. Servers are friendly but they could be more attentive. We parked in the structure and got our parking validated. Would come here again for their Taco Tuesday specials, Happy Hour, and Holiday Cocktail special.

Yelp
Went to Aloha Mamacita yesterday and unfortunately had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in Honolulu. We waited about 20 minutes to be seated, which was expected for a busy restaurant, but once seated we waited an additional 15 minutes with no greeting, no menus rundown, no water--nothing. We sat there watching multiple staff members walk by without acknowledging us. When we finally decided what to order, we were told that there were items that were unavailable. It would have been extremely helpful to know that before we spent time planning our order. We placed our order along with holiday drinks. For a party of five, we were only given four waters, and even after asking three separate times, I finally received the fifth. To their credit, the food came out quickly and it was delicious, but that was the only positive part of our experience. Service was where everything fell apart. No one checked on us. Our waters stayed empty. No sense of urgency from the staff whatsoever. Our drinks took almost an hour to arrive after ordering. We got it 15 minutes AFTER we finished eating and after our table had already been cleared. No updates, no apology, no acknowledgment from the staff whatsoever. After we received our drinks they were all inconsistent and you could tell they made rushed to make it because it looked horrible. When we asked for the check, we were brushed off and had to ask again. As we left, not a single staff member said thank you or have a nice day--just cold looks and clear frustration. We could tell they were severely understaffed, and frankly, if management can't staff the restaurant properly, they shouldn't be seating guests because this experience was horrible. You can tell all guests were confused and frustrated about the service. Great food means very little when there is no service to support it. Will I return? Probably not--not until they get their staffing and management issues sorted out, and that's me being generous. Do better, Aloha Mamacita Management. Those poor workers looked burnt out the completely over it.

Yelp
Service was lacking. When we were seated we were informed they were short staffed. They seldom checked on us as a result. Their food and drink quality made up for their lacking service. We were seated outside which was ok sinceit was night time. I would imagine if it were day time it could be a little uncomfortable as the heat could possibly be unbearable. I really liked the puffies. Are they as good as the snow puffies in Haleiwa? They are pretty on par if you add in the special flavors they have. But if you compared their original to the original snow puffy, the Haleiwa one wins that one. The chocolate ganache is what takes that one for Haleiwa. The Chocolate filled Chantilly puffy and Oreo puffies were really good. I bought them all so I could try them all. I would come again to try their food items. They looked pretty good. We had already eaten dinner before coming. We came for drinks and dessert.

Yelp
Validated parking is located inside. I am just so in awe of this place! Not only is the quality of food incredible, but the vibes and the energy of the staff make this place truly Aloha Mamacita. I was able to visit during October to celebrate a little work gathering and wow this place was beyond decked out in decoration from ceiling to floor. The best part about it was that the elements were foraged and not that tacky and low quality decor that could be purchased, but this place had actual branches and the entire spirit of Halloween. The variety amount of food provided was incredible and being that it was Tuesday, be sure to check out their specials :)
google avatar

Kayla N.

Yelp
Service was slow. We waited about 5 minutes to be greeted and another 10 minutes for a table to be cleaned. Their holiday drinks were pretty strong. I ordered the chicken bao buns, and buns tasted like dish soap.. like there was a strong fragrant smell of soap as if they didn't throughly wash the dishes and just placed the food right on top. Also, the buns were also dry which sucked. The chicken itself tasted good, though.
google avatar

Jeffrey T.

Yelp
Came for their Halloween theme drink and learned they have awesome desserts. Loved their Halloween decor. I always have a sweet tooth, so Aloha Mamacita was heaven. Definitely going back to try their savory offerings next time. Hoping they bring more life back to restaurant row. They validate for parking. Friendly service. They were busy and it was later. We were seating outside as it was bumping and full indoors.
google avatar

Laila S.

Yelp
Food is good! However, if you order online, I suggest going 10-15 minutes after the given ready time. Your food might be ready but it takes a while to get from the kitchen to the pickup counter. The tacos are great!
google avatar

Seyoung Y.

Yelp
I tried both ube and original banana pudding and I think it's overly sweet and pretty cakey. think it will taste better if it was less sweet. And the ube one didn't taste that much different from the original one other than it was sweeter. My friends and I shared 2, and all of us thought they tasted almost the same. It had lots of banana chunks though, so that part was pretty satisfying.

Yelp
Stopped by Aloha Mamacita and honestly didn't expect to find pho on the menu, but I'm glad we gave it a shot. The broth was flavorful and comforting without being too salty, and the noodles had a great texture. Surprisingly solid pho for a spot that's not strictly Vietnamese. We also tried the furikake chicken, which was crispy, perfectly seasoned, and came out hot and fresh. The sauce paired well without overpowering the furikake flavor. Portions were generous, and everything tasted like it was made with care. Service was friendly and quick, and the vibe was laid-back and fun--very Hawaii local meets island fusion. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and craving something hearty with a local twist.
google avatar

Isabelle K.

Yelp
This place is everything. I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was tender, and the portion was generous. Next up: the Birria Tacos. Juicy, flavorful, and packed with slow-cooked goodness. For dessert, I grabbed the Banana Pudding, which was creamy and comforting, But the real MVP? The Ube Aloha Puffy. I can't even explain how good this was!! It was fluffy, light, and packed with ube flavor, with just the right amount of sweetness. If you go you must try! Friendly service, unique fusion flavors, and up beat vibes make Aloha Mamacita a must-try. I'm already dreaming of my next visit.
google avatar

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
Went for the Birria tacos... stayed for the pastries. Very trendy spot, perfect for a quick lunch. Service was good, lunch was good, and the pastries... AMAZING! Their cheesecake cups and puff pastries are a must! There are so many great flavors to choose from. Ube cheesecake was my fave and the Oreo puff pastry was yum. Can't wait to try all the other flavors!
google avatar

Yelp
Located in Restaurant Row, there is ample parking. We went in the afternoon on a Saturday, and it was nearly empty in there but there are lots of seating so if it was busy it wouldn't be too hard to get a table. When it's slow I notice workers in the service industry tend to not be too attentive and talk story with each other in the back/side, and this was one of those situations, but it wasn't too bad. My partner and I shared the birria Crunchwrap with consommé which was delicious and had a good amount of filling. We also shared the mango sticky rice pudding which seemed to be very similar to sago, and that was good too. They are a little on the pricier side for what you get, but I think it's worth trying at least once!
google avatar

Shirleen W.

Yelp
* Validated 3 hours parking at the waterfront plaza * Various Birria items & Thai food * yummy desserts The atmosphere is so pretty and feels so fancy for a casual dining place, but it definitely makes this place unique. I would highly recommend for my late munchies crew to come here since they close up to 10am on weekdays and 2pm on weekends. What else can you ask for?
google avatar

Ryan G.

Yelp
Located in The Row right across Renfro the main bar Aloha Mamacita is currently in the Halloween spirit. They were able to make a virgin cocktail for the kid which was presented as a blood bag from a hospital. He loved it! The birria tacos and fish tacos were both delicious and decent size. My gf got the Goblin Juice, great flavor with lychee eye balls. We'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Doshie D.

Yelp
Yes YES YES!!! first of all park in the parking garage they validate so it's free parking. Don't do what we did and drive around the entire block trying to find a meter. Chicken local mocha was absolutely amazing and the Birrira nachos were soooo good! They make their own chips. And then dessert will be cookie butter, banana pudding, and a Oreo pastry puff
google avatar

Yelp
Upset. Last time I came here the service was great and had an amazing time. Unfortunately this time. We had to wait an hour even tho the place was nearly empty. I understand that they may possibly be understaffed but the staff was not satisfactory. They only came around to us one time. My drink took 20+ mins to make when my friends came out 10 mins prior. No apologies were said. We had to wait over 10 mins to pay while sitting here with empty glasses and food plates. Very disappointed. The service was awful.
google avatar

Yelp
It was our second time visiting this location after they moved into their new renovated space. We stopped in to dine on a Sunday afternoon. Very neat restaurant. There were vines cascading from the ceiling with a lot of botanical motifs decorating the space. There was a lot of booth seats and tables. Outside was an enclosed outdoor seating. The waiter also made my ube drink. Delicious! Food was served quickly to my family. Parking is validated so be sure to present your ticket at the restaurant.
google avatar

Yelp
Aloha Mamacita, you've officially ruined me for all other chicken tacos. I came, I devoured, I forgot to take a photo until the plate was embarrassingly spotless, but that's just proof of how insanely good they were. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, with just the right kick, and wrapped in tortillas that somehow tasted like vacation. And let's talk about the Halloween drink menu; a spooky lineup of martinis that are as delicious as they are festive. (unlike my taco photo, which will feature... an empty plate and zero regrets). If you're in Honolulu and craving flavor with flair, Aloha Mamacita is the move. I'll be back soon... next time with photo evidence before the tacos disappear.

Yelp
I love how open and inviting this place is! There's just enough frill to keep it elegant but no fuss. Originally being placed at a table with chairs, we requested to move to a booth and were easily accommodated. There are a variety of tables ranging from 2 seaters to larger groups plus you have a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Their menu is glorious!! Thai food. Vietnamese food. Mexican food. All rolled into one!! Talk about yum! The birria bomb bites were gooey and easy to pop into your mouth. I'd take a bite and then soak the rest in the accompanying consumme. Summer rolls were fresh, perfectly wrapped and boy do I love that peanut sauce! Not a drop went to waste. Husband had the chicken tacos and thoroughly enjoyed them. The margarita was crisp and salty also, just the way he likes it. The birria bao bun set was perfect. The softness of the bun, the juiciness of the birria, the perfect amount of toppings to put it all together. Jamie was super sweet. She took time to talk with us about how it all started & her recommendations. Your vision worked!! Cheers to you!! We'll be back to try more tasty goodness!

Yelp
Granted my friend and I did go Cinco De Mayo so it was busy. We arrived at 5pm. They had some open tables outside. I was seated without a menu or water for about 15 minutes until I had to flag someone down. We immediately ordered (one drink each and three tacos each) since we could already tell service sucked. Her drink came an hour later. Mine came about 1.5 hrs later. lol. Thankfully our tiny 3 tacos each came about 1.5hrs later. The fish in the fish taco was smaller than the width of my pinky. It was hilarious. The chicken taco came with two tiny pieces. The steak one was good. I got the Dubai chocolate matcha martini pretty solid for $15 but definitely not worth 1.5hrs. The HH margaritas were giant and a good price.

Yelp
First timer here! Order was quickly prepared and accurate. Got to eat everything hot and fresh. Coconut curry with jasmine rice - Mild is NOT mild. If you cannot tolerate spice, opt for the 'no spice' option. Very little meat, lots of onions, but wanted more potatoes. The broth is plentiful. Jasmine rice was fresh but I wish there was a sticky rice option available. Would pair nicely for this Thai fusion spot. Horchata - Cinnamon and chalky. Left a residue in my mouth. Think it needed to soak longer. Birria Crunchwrap with consumme - Very average tasting and in appearance. Portions are hefty, hence the price tag. Birrie Bomb Bites - Best menu item of the night! Fried to perfection paired perfectly with the side sauce, Im looking forward to trying this again soon!

Yelp
Last summer, while I was at The Waterfront Tower eating breakfast at The Porch, I stumbled across Aloha Mamacita, an Asian (Thai) fusion-Mexican spot that I'd been meaning to check out. I remembered seeing a fellow foodie do a reel on their baked goods that looked so fun, colorful, and just downright delicious. I was excited when I realized it was the same spot I had bookmarked and came back later that day after running errands in the area. The restaurant itself wasn't open at the time, but I was there just for the baked goods. I had to go back to the reviews to figure out where exactly to go. We headed up the stairs toward the parking lot, spotted it tucked away in the corner. There's a display case of all their baked goods which made it really hard to choose. They were already sold out of some of the items that I wanted to try, but I ended up grabbing a handful of items: the Chocolate Chantilly Aloha Puffy (so good), the original banana pudding, the ube and strawberry spiral croissant (as pretty as it is tasty), a cream puff, and an ube horchata to wash it all down. My favorites were the aloha puffy and the spiral croissant. Loved the flavors! It totally lived up to the hype and I was so happy to have stumbled across it by happenchance! I did my best to keep everything cool in my bag and managed to bring the rest of it back home to Maui to enjoy. Will definitely go back if I'm in the area again and maybe even try more of the other menu items. Thai dishes, tacos, baked goods -- it was all such an interesting, unexpected mix, but I have their tacos, larb, and curries on my list for next time. Definitely recommend this place for their baked goods!

Yelp
I was really hungry and decided to order takeout, so I went with the birria crunchwrap. The food came out surprisingly fast, only a few minutes. Normally it takes at least 10 minutes, so that already had me wondering. As I walked out holding the plate, it didn't even feel warm. I ate my food about five minutes after picking it up. When I opened the container, I was immediately disappointed. The wrap wasn't warm enough, and you could tell because the cheese was melted but already cold and solid again. The consomé was even worse--cold, like it had just come out of the refrigerator. You could see the oil solidified and lying around the edges of the container, which is definitely not how it's supposed to be. As I started eating, the wrap wasn't crunchy at all. It was really soggy, falling apart, and honestly tasted like it had been made way earlier and just reheated it. It lacked flavor across the board, and the consomé didn't help either. The overall quality and presentation were very disappointing. There was a good portion of meat, but even that lacked the flavor I usually look forward to. I'm really hoping this was just an off day and that it doesn't happen again :(

Yelp
Cool casual dining experience with friends. I came on a weeknight and it was busy. I ordered the fried chicken, lechon taco, birria tacos, Ube Aloha puffy Fried chicken - Delicious and crunchy. It's large pieces and shareable. Lechon taco - Best part of the meal. It's only 1 taco per order. A little pricey. Birria tacos - Superb! I wanted to drink the broth. Ube Aloha puffy - Similar to a snow puffy. The ube flavor is so good. I ordered 1 to share. The food is all shareable. I'm glad I only ordered 3 items so I could save room for dessert. I definitely want to come back again. The menu is so extensive that there's food for everyone's palette!

Yelp
Impressed is an understatement! They definitely lived up to their "hype." I've heard, i've seen, but now I have finally say I have tasted! From the service to the food, it honestly couldn't have been better for my first experience. Davis was such a friendly server and helped us to decide what to eat since I am always so indecisive! Everything on their menu is very simple to read, but complex on the eye. A few of their menus are sooo eye-appealing! Like their tom yum, which I may have to try next time! This time, I got the birria crunch wrap and let me tell you.... It was THICC! Yes, thicc, because the amount of meat in there should be illegal and cheese, with of course some cilantro and onion! It was perfect and I never had a crunch wrap until today! But, i could probably never do the taco bell's one since I literally live for this juicy meat, yet not oily, cheesey galore and a little bit of a bite in both flavor AND crunch! It's a must have for sure, especially dipped in that consomé to bring it to next level! To cool things off, I got the ube horchata and let me tell you.... "Don't sleep on it"! You get the perfect amount of horchata, cinnamon, and ube. I am definitely going to have to be back! The ambiance is very open-air like and spacious! My biggest advice is to come during lunch and dine in. That takeout line is beyond the roof! I went to check out the amazing desserts, which they are also known for... and that banana cream pudding was the one I knew i had to get. They have like a display case so you can see all the desserts! Cookie butter one is a bit much, but if you like cookier butter than defs get it! I could probably just do the regular one, which is what my friend got! Overall, an amazing experience for the first time... I will definitely have to be back within the next week or so!

Yelp
Refreshing beverage in Honolulu, Hawaii... I've had Aloha Mamacita bookmarked for a long time. I watched many of my friends check-ins... but I was afraid to get lost at Waterfront Tower (formerly Restaurant Row). Thanks so much to Irene for showing me exactly where the NEW location is. She said it used to be in a nook at the parking structure entrance... near the disabled parking stalls and the restroom that has a code on the door. Yeah - this building is sort of complex. Currently, Aloha Mamacita is next to The Porch (coffee shop). There's patio dining as well as indoor dining! I just wanted a horchata... but then, I had to choose a flavor for the "wall" of the cup. I got caramel... it blended well with the cinnamon flavor! It wasn't too sweet and gave some depth to the drink! Service was very sweet, cheerful, and efficient! It makes me want to return and try the desserts and other menu items!

Yelp
First time at Aloha Mamacita since they opened their new dine-in restaurant. Had previously been to the old take-out counter. Came for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. Being a work day, the place was crowded, as was all of Restaurant Row. Service was prompt and friendly. Wife got the street tacos and calamari, while I got the Birria Crunch Wrap. All were excellent..! The restaurant was clean and chill. They have bathrooms, but the women's bathroom was closed for repairs. With validation, you get three hours of free parking... that's almost unheard of. Anytime you get free or cheap parking is great. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
My go-tos are usually the birria taco set with consommé, and the bakery items are all pretty bomb. Used to be a big fan of their cookie croissants when they were shaped like original oblong croissants but they changed them to circular ones awhile ago, and they haven't been the same to me. Not sure how they are now or if they still sell them. Dined in last night with a friend and we both got the birria crunchwraps with consommé! I had ordered this once before but it was with delivery and by the time it arrived it was cold.. but this time it was hot and crispy! Servers were super kind, they did forget a ginger ale for a while but it eventually made its way to the table. Will be back!

Yelp
I've been to their old location on Nimitz and have been wanting to come to this location at restaurant row for a while now. I called in the morning was able to get same day reservations for a party of 10 (they accept reservations for a party of 5 or more). Love the vibe of this place, plenty of seating inside and out on the patio area. Rich and Ayden took care of our table and gave the best service. I ordered the birria bomb bites, calamari and the aloha punch. The rest of my party ordered birria tacos, birria bao, Crunchwrap, some alcoholic drinks and a bunch of desserts. Everyone LOVED the food and want to come back! And they validated our parking tickets - 3 hours.

Yelp
Aloha Mamacita has been on my radar since I've see photos of the Spiral Croissants. We weren't exactly sure if this was restaurant or a bakery. This place is both! They're primarily a restaurant but they have a small counter inside if you just want to order pastries and drinks. Parking is available in the attached parking garage, which we were able to get fully validated. We brought my dog, so we asked to be sat outside in the corner and they were able to easily accommodate for us. DRINKS: Yuzu martini, Viet espresso martini, and Ube Rumchata (one drink came out wrong so not sure which the last drink was). They were all pretty good (around $14 each). They're definitely more yummy, sweet drinks so they gave me a stomachache. FOODS: Birria bombs and Thai Loco Moco. Both AMAZING! Personally loved them, especially the birria bombs! PASTRIES: Ube and Cookie Butter Aloha Puffies. Cookie butter was amazing. We're planning on going back to try other flavors. Everything was great and so pleasant. I'm happy we got to try this place out! 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
I went with a couple of friends to try out some of their food & Halloween themed drinks. The drinks & desserts were the highlights for us! DRINKS: We had the pumpkin pie margarita, which was YUM! It had a thick layer of whipped cream on top with a pumpkin spice sugared rim. After dinner, I got a pandan matcha, which was delicious! DESSERT: We got the banana pudding & the ube cheesecake cup...both were delicious! I would definitely return for both of them! FOOD: We ordered the pad Thai, Tom Kha, and summer rolls. Honestly, the food was fine, but I wouldn't order those dishes again. The pad Thai was over sauced, for our taste, and too sweet. To be fair, our server did say that the pad Thai was on the sweet side and we decided to order it anyway. I think that if it didn't have as much of the sauce, then it might've been more well received. It was our first time there, so maybe we'll try other dishes for our future visits!

Yelp
I really wanted to love this location, but there were some challenges along the way. Know that on the weekends, there is a live band blaring right outside of the restaurant. We were seated outside, right next to the band, to which the bass was too loud for us to even get any conversations going. We asked if we could go inside, to which it was better but they were blaring the music in there to drown out what was happening outside, at least minus all the bass. As for the service, it was sub par. The server made a few comments about not having particular items on the menu, because they ran out. Then about 5 minutes later, came back and changed out our menus completely to the late night menu (which starts at 8pm). We were already set at that time as to what we wanted to eat on the first menu and asked if there was any way the kitchen could put these in as the last order, to which thankfully they did. A head's up would've been nice when we first sat is all. We weren't given share plates for items that we were going to share. We also didn't have our waters filled throughout the entire time we were there. As for the food, I've always enjoyed their products from their previous location, to which those items are still solid contenders (tacos). Though some of the other items we tried needed a little tweaking. The vegetable egg rolls though crunchy on the outside were mushy on the inside. The pho needs more spices and herbs to give it more flavor. They ran out of horchata, opted for the Aloha punch which tasted like straight syrup, even when you mix it around. Overall, I would come here perhaps during the day, when there's no live music, to see if that makes a difference with the ambiance and service. Or perhaps do take out. We took home some puffies for dessert and they held well, were still crispy the next day too.

Yelp
I went at 2:30pm so it was pretty empty and they allowed me to pick my table. The portions are on the smaller side, so it will feel pricy for what you get. Flavor is good. But probably better for people who prefer to eat lighter. I ordered the birria bao as it was highlighted online and on the menu, but it is very small for $20. You get three bao and consome to dip it in, and they were tasty, but the size felt more like an appetizer than a main course. I previously had the crunchwrap with consomme at the take out window, and that was a much better size, taking up the full plate lunch container. It was still a smaller meal, but at "light lunch" rather than "appetizer". I was still hungry enough after I ate it that I ordered the birria locomoco, also $20, as the noodles and soups seemed larger. The portions again were on the smaller side, but felt more balanced with the large helping of salad and aesthetic scoop of rice. The birria was on the side, rather than on top the rice like a usual loco moco, the egg taking center visually. There is a lot more birria in the moco than in the tacks, so it feels like a much better meal for about the same price. The desserts are consistently good here. The new dining area is bright? Clean, and very mainland feeling. I saw that they have a Las Vegas location, so I imagine it is modeled after that one. Music is not too loud, and lighting is low, so things felt a little dim even during afternoon hours, but it was a mellow type of dim that made for a more relaxed atmosphere.

Yelp
Came at the end of the Taste of Aloha night market every second Saturday of the month! We walked around the night market as they were winding down for the night and decided to stop by the permanent location in the same plaza. My main focus was the desserts but we were curious about the other items as well. Walking up, there was a bit of a line and ended up waiting for about 10 minutes overall. The overall vibe of this place is very trendy and catered towards a younger crowd. Looking on Yelp, they had other items such as Pad See Ew and Pad Thai, but we were only given the menu with the Birria and Boa items. I ordered the Dubai Chocolate Matcha Martini, Fried Chicken Bao Set and a single Birria Bao to sit down. The drink was okay, but I think my view on the hype surrounding Dubai Chocolate is fading away based on this review and the combination of matcha + alcohol wasn't my favorite. The Birria Bao wasn't very impressive but the Fried Chicken Set was loaded and definitely the best tasting item. Before leaving, I picked up a Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake Cup and a Cookie Butter Banana Pudding. Overall, the food here was underwhelming. We weren't given the full menu so it's hard to tell if the other items offered could have been better. Maybe we have to come during a different time or give it another try.

Yelp
3.5 Stars (rounding up to 4 for the food) I had been seeing this spot all over social media--beautiful drinks, over-the-top desserts, and fun vibes--so naturally, we had to check it out. The presentation is definitely eye-catching and Instagram-worthy, which totally drew us in. When we went, though, it felt a little chaotic. It was really crowded, and we only saw two staff working the whole place. Our server mentioned it was her first day, and while she was very sweet, the service was pretty rocky. We waited almost 25 minutes just to get water, and the timing of everything was all over the place--food came first, then drinks 15 minutes later, and then we got the bill and the chips and salsa at the same time? We were genuinely confused. BUT--and this is important--the food itself was actually really great. That honestly saved the experience for us and is the reason I'm still giving it 4 stars. I'm hoping this was just an off day with short staffing, because I do want to come back and try more of the menu (and those desserts!). Fingers crossed they can smooth things out, because the potential is definitely there.

Yelp
Met up with my girlfriend and her family visiting from the mainland and she wanted to brunch at aloha Mamacita. I've seen all the IGs, viewed the menu and was looking forward to the visit. And Aloha Mamacita did not disappoint. Aloha Mamacita is located in Row Kakaako (old Restaurant Row) next to the Row Bar. Although it was a Saturday, no street parking available. Planelenty of parking in the garage. Parking is $7, flat rate. However, parking is free with validation. Yay! Great to see they have both indoor and patio dining. We were greeted by the friendly and very helpful staff member. Recommended that we should stay indoors to avoid the flies. The recommendations made was spot on. The teenager was happy with his beef pad Thai. And although the server did say the chicken nuggets is just ok, the little princess wanted it and we could tell it was just ok. My girlfriend enjoyed her birria street tacos. The server did let her know that the street tacos were on the smaller side. She also enjoyed her Dubai latte. I enjoyed the birria crunch wrap and ube horchata. My sister enjoyed her matcha horchata. And my sister and I enjoyed her fish tacos very much. Even the server was like, the fish tacos was good yeah!? It's underrated. I enjoyed the fish tacos more than the birria crunch wrap. Got up to order desserts and the ube puff was calling me. At first I was just going to order 3 puffs, but the server was like, if you get 5, The 6th is free. No problem! I got two ube, two Chantilly, and two strawberry shortcake. And the server said he got me the puffiest of the puffs. Wink wink. I only had room for the ube puff and it really seemed like the puffiest of the puffs. So good, so flaky, and as always, I choked on the powdered sugar from inhaling, coughed to have more powered sugar on my face. So beware. We got there at 11 am and there was plenty of seating until 12. Restaurant is super cute but I was too busy socializing that I forgot to take pictures. Since my regular brunch-sister-partner couldn't make it, I'll be back in a few weeks for dinner before heading to the symphony. Thanks to Aloha Mamacita for the fabulous experience.

Yelp
The food was exceptionally delicious! Reasonable portions for the prices paid. Server was knowledgeable of items on the menu, she was very attentive. The place is clean. I am recommending this restaurant to Mexican food fanatics.

Yelp
BLUF: good food, good drinks, good location, good vibes, pretty good service. Came here for lunch on a Saturday and they seemed severely understaffed. Good service, but understaffed. My family and I weren't in a rush or anything so we were fine with the service. It did get crowded at times, especially the dessert take out line. Probably could've used 1 or 2 more servers. But overall the food and desserts were pretty good. Didn't get to try any specialy drinks or alcoholic drinks. Will certainly try next time. The food was pretty good and even ordered food that was not on the menu yet. Definitely a hipster environment, especially being located in restaurant row and near kakaako. Would definitely come back if ever in town. Oh and don't forget to validate your parking ticket.

Yelp
I heard really good things about Aloha Mamacita so I decided to give it a try! And oh my gosh, I think this is by far one of the worst food experiences I've had in awhile. ***What I ordered ~ **Furikake Chicken Plate (0/10) ~ So I really wanted to like this, but it was SUPER soggy and it was SO OVERLY SALTED. After a few bites I couldn't eat it anymore because of how much water I would have to chug. The saltiness honestly made it impossible to enjoy. Just to note, I got my order to go and it was around a 8 minute drive back to my office. Overall, I would not come back at all.

Yelp
First time trying this place. We've seen a lot of posts on social media and decided to give it a try! The food was good. Although they were out of a lot of items everything was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Drinks were delicious too!

Yelp
Fan of their snow puffies! Cookie butter is good I'd come back and recommend their puffies Strawberry horchata 7/10. Strawberry syrupy milk flavor. I was hoping for a Strawberry agua fresca x horchata but oh well. Dubai chocolate matcha unfortunately not a fan. Idk all the matchas I've tried on Oahu are not strong enough 5/10. Would've liked more flavor The chocolate pieces are good tho. Can barely taste any matcha or pistachio :/ Caramel macchiato horchata was good tho!! Love the flavor and the sweetness. Would get this one again
