Manchester’s throwback Chinese‑Polynesian lounge pours classic tiki cocktails alongside a sprawling Cantonese‑American menu. The restaurant’s own updated menus and hours show it’s still going strong—late on weekends—decades in.

There's just better options available for you! When we walked in, it really felt like a time machine to 2005. While it's clean, it's dated and almost impossible to feel like you shouldn't try it. We had fantastic service, however, and it did seem like those dining were regulars. The food was bland, and we knew right away that it's a place to go if you're desperate and unwilling to drive 5 minutes to another spot. I'm sure there's some that swear by it, but ultimately, I won't go again.

Wifey wanted Chinese after a week of burgers and hotdogs at the baseball tournament. So said Aloha, I knew they had bbq ribs on the bone. Being a Sunday night it was very quiet. We started with a blue Hawaiian and a zombie both were up to par their pricing of adult beverages is comparable to the private clubs in the area our drinks were only $8.50 each. The ribs were top notch, the Peiking ravioli have a heavier crust than wifey likes, the egg rolls were great, the seafood lomein was tasty but the lobster was obviously frozen and a bit chewy but everything else about it was good but at $38 I expected better. We’ll be back we just won’t get the seafood lomein. Service was very good we sat in the bar because it was very slow the bartender was very good and everything was delivered hot and quickly. Thanks for reading my review, look forward to more in the future. Cheers.

Google
Food was amazing! A lot of times boneless ribs are dry and overcooked, but these were just right, and the chicken fingers and pork fried rice were sooo good. Restaurant could use some updates as it's been the same inside for over a decade at least, but it's clean and family friendly. We moved to TN and Chinese food is horrible in the south. It was so nice to have some really good food while up here.

Google
Good Food and Lots of it. Exceptional servings. Typical New England Chinese Take Out. Satisfying, Salty, Sweet, Hot and Well cooked. Large Menu. Extra condiments at no charge. Silverware, napkins etc. NOT Gormet so don't expect that. Don't know about the dining atmosphere. lve only done Take Out. Lobby, clean and Light. Friendly Greeter, Quick Service, 👍👍👍👍

Google
The food only has 4 stars only because the egg rolls and chicken fingers which are my 2 favorite besides the pork fried rice were dry and over cooked. The edges were crunchy like too crunchy.

Yelp
Aloha to all you fellow Hawaiians out there on YELP! This joint merits a "re-review" to emphasize how great this joint is. It ticks all boxes: Great food. Great drinks. Great service. Great prices. Great portions. Great atmosphere. I will keep it simple here and suffice to say this places rox. This is our second time here and it was Festivus AF. Our server Krystal was fab and made our evening even more phun and she was the bomb and deserves a wicked-mega thumbs up. They kick it off with a complimentary 'Goon for each upon being seating and close it out with pineapple chucks with toothpicks for the group! Can you say old school? It's wicked pissah! Bottoms up, all y'alls! Aloha! See you YELPers here soon!

Yelp
Got some chicken fried rice, egg rolls, teriyaki, chicken fingers, and beef and broccoli the other day with a buddy up from FL. The bar was full of regulars all gossiping about each other but we ignored and got our food. The egg rolls have a single shrimp in the middle of each one(yuck) but you can pick them out. The shrimp is larger now than years ago when i last visited. The beef and broccoli was great and so was the chicken fried rice. The rice was almost slimy cuz of how much delicious soy and other sauces it contained. Chicken fingers and teriyaki were also good. Teriyaki no longer comes on the wooden block with skewers standing up. Pupu platter is 30$ now and 3$ for each substitution. So annoying i get charged 3$ more to get rid of each of the nasty fish containing items on the pupu. Just not justifiable to order 40$ pup cuz i dont like shrimp, or crab. Overall the ambiance was better than when i saw cockroaches crawling along the bar years ago. Grateful dead was playing which was cool. Chili paste here is the only thing left that sets them apart from the competition imo. It is FANTASTIC.

Yelp
The food is always good from here. Fresh duck sauce and hot mustard. Fast service but the prices are almost double what is reflected online.

Yelp
Great place for old school New England style Chinese food. I made the trip from the North Shore of MA to Manchester last night for takeout, with my insulated hot/cold bag. I ordered the pu pu platter for 2, pork fried rice, and an extra order of egg rolls, and I'm glad I did because they were some of the best I've had! I'm looking forward to leftovers tonight. The drink was made at home, but I did buy the Zombie glass from them. They have a nice display case with tiki mugs and other miscellaneous items for sale in a display case at the front counter. I will definitely be going back. The egg roll pics should tell you everything you need to know!

Yelp
May 26 around dinner, me and the fam went to Aloha in Manchester. It's in a strip mall and looks pretty beat up from the outside. We walked in and things started to look up. It was 6 and dead. There wasn't anyone there except a 3 older couples. The place was clean and I liked the paintings they had on the wall which were Chinese influenced. When we were seated we were served bread and 3 crab rangoon both complimentary! We ordered the Pupu platter for 3 and we decided to switch it up and see if we'd get higher quality rice by ordering chicken fried rice. We also got an order of crab rangoons and Peking ravioli. We subbed out the shrimp on the platter for extra egg rolls. Everything on the Pupu platter was delicious except the boneless ribs were a bit hit or miss. Some were better than others. The rest was spectacular. The wings were served with the wing tip on then which usually puts me off a bit and there were still some feather bits on my wing. I was buzzed and hungry so, I plucked my wing snapped off that tip myself and dug in. It was amazing. That chicken wing was so delicious! My son said the chicken fingers were the best he's had. The egg rolls were old school celery and pork filled deliciousness and the crab Rangoon slapped. My wife and I like the teriyaki a lot but our son didn't. The Peking ravioli were bussin! The bad? The fried rice had great flavor and coloring but the chicken wasn't great in it. I would stick with the pork fried rice next time. This visit pushes Aloha into our #2 spot on our quest for the best.

Yelp
First visit to the strip mall restaurant that's been around for decades. Not an over-the-top tiki feel, but some antique Chinese paintings and relief work in the large boot bed dining room add legitimacy. Hospitality: A huge strong suit. Exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable and helpful server, on top of their customary rolls and complimentary crab rangoons (one per customer). Nice! Plus pineapple chunks along with fortune cookies with the check. Appetizer Tidbits were a fitting intro, less of a commitment than a pupu platter, but good variety: -- Egg Roll: Crisp, tasty, solid, no bells or whistles, nothing positive or negative to distinguish it as other than decent to solid. -- Spareribs on the bone: Large, meaty, brown (no red), with a clear-to-brown honey-ish glaze. A little long in the tooth, so not as tender or moist as hoped. The only real disappointment. -- Chicken Fingers: Good size, typical meat-to-batter ratio, corndog style batter, but with a twist: a very noticeable sweetness that made them more like chicken donuts. Not that there's anything wrong with that! Gotta be in the right mood, perhaps, but I enjoyed them. Server scored us some sweet and sour sauce on the side. Bonus points for the flexibility. Typical red sauce, so no bonus points for creativity, but more bonus points for the increasingly elusive pineapples and cherries. Chicken Wings with Oyster Sauce: A very generous order, with the wings borderline crisp and more of a boiled/stewed feel. Sauce had nice flavor but a lighter version of it (both color and texture) than Boston area. Lobster Sauce: A very solid version with freshness, tenderness and good flavor. Not that dark and no black bean (or other inclusion), but no problem. Subtle but very effective. Although probably not in my top 5, right there in that next echelon. Pork Fried Rice: Decent color, decent texture, decent pork inclusions. Nothing special, but got the job done nicely. Pork Egg Foo Yong: Good flavor and texture throughout. Nothing really jumped out as notable on either the positive or negative side, just a good solid version. So overall I liked Aloha and I'd definitely go back, but rank it higher than or think of it on the same level as Tahiti or Golden Temple closer to Boston.

Eileen M.

Yelp
Not good. The crab Rangoon was soft, hardly cooked. The sesame chicken was really bad. Onions in the fried rice weren't fully cooked. Just not a good experience. Really surprised because it's usually very good.

Ashley G.

Yelp
My friends brought me here on a whim. I will start off by saying the staff was great and the food was delicious even though they weren't able to tell me if anything was gluten free. I was willing to risk it- the beef and vegetables didn't give me any reaction but I can't say the same for anyone else with gluten sensitivities. The restaurant is spacious with seating areas that feel somewhat private. The food was quite expensive but for the portion sizes and quality I would say that's fair.

Yelp
Really solid all around food here! I tend to sit on the bar side but they do have a nice full dining area. The bar side always has some good music bumping and the service is excellent. The things I go here for the most are the crab rangoons, and the HAM fried rice, both of which are awesome. I have had a large variety of this menu and I've never been disappointed, the drinks are strong, and the people are friendly. Enjoy!

Cody G.

Yelp
Decent food, crooked pool table and try local Manchester crowds.drinks are ok, typical Chinese quality .

Jesse S.

Yelp
I very rarely review anything. As a lover of Chinese food and tiki drinks, man, would I love for this place to be good. I really would. But wow, the food is bad. Sweet and sour chicken with maraschino cherries? Dry pork fried rice with no flavor. The boneless spare ribs were the best part and they were maybe a 3/10. It gets 2 stars because the service behind the bar was great and the ambiance was decent. But they *desperately* need to improve their food.

susan s.

Yelp
The only reason this establishment got 1 star is because they were opened.'Had a party of about 15-16. Had asked them prior to coming about separate checks. We were told no problem. When we got there we were told that separate checks wasn't possible. That was fine with us. We did family checks. Let me just say that the server was overwhelmed. It was just here: Two of the guests did. It like their food at all

Yelp
Aloha is an old school Chinese/American restaurant that Gen Xers and Boomers will love! The food is great and comes out piping hot! The wait staff is attentive and helpful. A couple of free crab Rangoon on the table to start the meal is always great too! The decor is old 70's and 80's style Chinese restaurant. It's not updated but it's clean. Highly recommend. PuPu Platter for 2 with pork friend rice is an excellent dinner for 2.

Yelp
Just came back from Aloha in Manchester. We know it's not authentic Chinese food, but every once in a while we need our American-Chinese fix and have been going there for years. On this occasion we ordered the Seafood Lo Mein for Two. According to the menu, it price is $38.50 but has scallops, shrimp, and lobster, so we felt like it was worth it. We were informed that they ran out of lobster but we still hesitantly ordered it, assuming it would still be a nice seafood dish. When it arrived, in addition to being out of lobster, the shrimp were literally half the size of salad shrimp (see pic...shrimp is next to a quarter for scale). When the waitress asked if we were all set, I said, "yes, but I'm kind of hoping you guys arent still charging the $38.50 the menu stated for scallops, shrimp, and lobster, considering you were out of lobster and such inexpensive shrimp were used", fully prepared to pay full price if necessary and just never order that dish again. She sent the manager over and I repeated what I said to the waitress. He was snapped back saying, "well thats how it's made, so that's the way it is". I told him there was no reason to be rude, as a customer I was just pointing out that the dish, as it was served, didn't offer the same value as the menu indicated. He said, "so, what you're telling me is you don't think you should have to pay anything at all?!" I told him I never said that at all, I just didn't think the dish offered the same value as served. He screamed that he knows we're regulars and assumed by now we knew how to read the menu. WHAT?! the point is the dish we READ wasn't the dish we got, but i didn't say that. There was no way to have a civilized conversation with him. He eventually said, "fine, I'll take $4 off"! and stomped off. My husband the waitress, and I were all looking at each other in shock. I asked the waitress if he treats all the customers like that because he's incredibly rude. He storms back in and said, "you know what, I'm giving you nothing"! and charged us full price. So, instead of at least pretending to be understanding, much less reducing the price for the dish, he's lost 2 customers for life. We work WAY too hard for our money to be treated badly, and there are so many dining options out there, managers like him should understand the importance of customer service. What a whack job!!!

Yelp
Sadly we've been coming here for 30+ years and ordering New Years evening dinner for the past 10, but this time the food was just bland, no taste and cold. Not once have I ordered take out even of this busiest night of the year and received cold food from here, but we can heat it up fine, just everything was bland, even the rice. It's pretty hard to get the rice bad. Some not all of the chicken fingers were so rubbery they were inedible and the teriyaki skewers also no flavor and tough as sin to eat. Everyone at our house began to independently comment about how bland the food was, no taste cold, and just not good. Usually on New Year's Eve the place is packed with people awaiting orders and while they were busy there appeared to be far less people than I've seen in the past perhaps because word or experience has gotten around. Also people were being waited on hap hazardly with people walking in getting service before others that had been patiently waiting in line. Pretty much a mess. I hope they straighten out their act as I hate to see a long standing neighborhood establishment go down hill like this. I hadn't been there in a few months but wow what a down turn. Sad.

Yelp
Best Chinese in town! They have some great items and if I ever left town I'd miss it!
google avatar

Leah S.

Yelp
They used to be better. The food is not really good anymore. service doesn't really make u feel welcomed. Only a two cuz I am trying to be nice

Scott B.

Yelp
Good food just crab rangoons are a little different other wise food was good wait staff was good

Bonnie W.

Yelp
Another delicious order from Aloha in Manchester. I got an order of chicken wanton soup and mushroom/pork egg goo young to go. More than enough for a meal and plenty of left overs. First time with this kind of egg foo young. Very good with their delicious gravy. Soup had lots of nice broth and vegetables. We had a two wait, but so worth it. Always excellent food. We had a male waiter and he was very good. Can't wait until next time.
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
The manager is rude, very offensive and even loud when he's being challenged over a dish ...
google avatar

Carol B.

Yelp
Every time we have gone to eat here, there has been at least 6 of us. Some are very loud, sorry. The staff is very inviting and friendly and have great attitudes. The food is good and they give you so much that you have to take some home! I recommend if you like Chinese food, you will not go home hungry! Definitely try this place!

Charles L.

Yelp
The dish was delicious, cooked to perfection. I have been coming here off and for years as I travel a lot but to return to the consistency of the food at Aloha always the same always the best Chinese food in New Hampshire. As far as ambience the restaurant hasn't changed in years but it is always neat and clean. Congratulations to the family that owns this well managed and customer friendly establishment.
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
My friend who lives in Manchester recommended that we replenish our muscles here after a climb up Mount Mansfield in Vermont. It's mandatory that you were a mask when entering during COVID-19, otherwise you can purchase a mask for $1. I ordered the sautéed broccoli with a side order of boneless spareribs. They loaded the bag up with 3 duck sauces which I appreciate and applied liberally to my pork. The inside of the establishment is large and the bar is inviting. This is likely the best place for Chinese food while visiting Manchester

Sally S.

Yelp
Old food/oil something? Not a full poopoo platter, mostly battered chicken. Rice was horrid, hard, and tasteless. Will never go back!

Larry F.

Yelp
Wow I used to love this place. But it's been a while since I've been here. The food used to be good. Ordered General Gaus chicken, pu pu platter, house lo mein with no shrimp. Man has it change. The chicken for the Gau was hard over cooked. The Gau sauce tasted more like sweet and sour sauce. But it wasn't sweet and sour sauce. It was just yuck. The egg rolls tasted nasty. I won't be eating there again. Sorry it was that bad!

Brenda C.

Yelp
Heard this restaurant has been there for many years... I used to live in Massachusetts, and have not had good Chinese for many years since moving to Florida!!!!! Great (real) Chinese... Very good service

Dalton C.

Yelp
Best Chinese in Manchester! Feels like home! Does the job, consistent, descendants of Jackie fucking Chan. Needs an update but like the old school vibe. Food is always good.
google avatar

Jaden B.

Yelp
I love this place I have been going there for many years. Take out is not as good as dinning in. dinning in is 100% worth it. Their food is delicious and filling. My favorite dish is pu pu platter for 2 and an extra side of crab Rangoon and chicken wings it can fill a big family and still have some leftover. This place wont break your wallet but break your diet. If you are in the neighborhood you should definitely check it out.
google avatar

Ian W.

Yelp
My coworkers and I enjoy the Chinese and Polynesian food at Aloha Restaurant, particularly for takeout. They offer 27 Luncheon Specials with generous portions at reasonable prices ($5.25-$9.25) and there are Family Dinners (1-6 people) offered from $9.50 for 1 person up to $79.95 for 6 people. Check out the menu at: http://www.aloharestaurant.net/ The General Gau's Chicken and the Sweet & Sour Chicken are both all white meat! The Shrimp with Lobster Sauce is so filling. The pork fried rice is dark (lots of soy sauce). The Teriyaki Beef sticks are marinated, chargrilled, and chewy. I also enjoy dining-in at the Aloha too. The place has a cocktail lounge and a spacious dining room with plenty of booth seating and large colorful painted murals and framed art on the walls. The server will bring out a complementary fried chicken wing (crispy and juicy), pot of hot tea, and ice water before taking the order. The service during lunch is very fast and good. On my last visit, I got my hot lunch combo plate in ONLY 3 MINUTES!! Sweeeet!! Pineapple cubes and fortune cookies given with the check. NOTE: The menu prices on the website are not up to date, all prices are slightly higher.

Yelp
I've have been calling this restaurant since about 4:25pm on Mew Years Eve. It's been difficult to get through as I understand but the 3 times I did get through, the people didn't answer the phone but rather spoke to one another among themselves and didn't take an order. I've been on the phone hearing them talk to one another for over 20 minutes now. If you're to busy to take orders, ignoring the customer is NOT proper business.practice. Why wouldn't you answer the phone and tell people you aren't taking anymore orders? DISGUSTING!

Roland G.

Yelp
Food review for the Aloha Restaurant @ 901 Hanover Street, East Side Plaza Manchester, NH Phone 1- 603-647-2100 0r 1 603-647-2110 My family ordered food on Saturday April 3rd 2022 for pickup around 2:00PM. We ordered $170.00 worth of food. That evening, after eating there was a lot of food left over. Sunday we set the food out to eat at lunch time. As our guest started to eat the leftovers a chicken finger was pick out of the Aloha's container and had a strand of stainless steel approximately three (3) inches long imbedded in it. This piece was the same as you would be used to scrub a stainless steel pan to clean off food residue. (SEE PICTURE). Upon this discovery, everybody left the table sickened and disgusted. The remaining food was thrown away because no one wished to chance consuming a foreign object lodge in any of the leftovers. We made a call to the Aloha and asked to speak to a manager and were informed that none was available. We spoke to Nate (the acting manager) and explained the situation to him. He didn't believed us, so we told him we would be right in to show him the chicken finger in question. We showed him the picture when we arrived, Nate denied any responsibility. We then showed him the chicken finger in the plastic bag, which he picked up and walked into the back room with it. When he returned he did not have it with him. WHEN NATE WAS ASKED SEVERAL TIMES TO RETURN THE CHICKEN FINGER HE REFUSED AND AGAIN DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY for the contamination that could have had serious consequences to anyone who may have consumed even a small piece of it. On Sunday April 04, 2022 we called the Aloha several times and each time we asked to speak to the owner Gary the staff member the answered the phone hung up on us. This posting is to inform the patrons of the Aloha Restaurant of the health risk of eating at the Aloha Restaurant and the extremely poor customer service experience, of the management and staff with regard to the customer safety and food preparation.

Yelp
Have loved aloha for years however the taste of their food has gone downhill also for the money that this place brings in you would think that they would keep it a little bit cleaner paint and update Think I might try a different Chinese food restaurant next time.

Cay911 -.

Yelp
As a once weekly customer I ask you to consider your Good customer's health concerns and consider curb side pick-up. Some of us do not want to go in to pick up our food in these Covid-19 times. Also take credit card info. over the phone as Most restaurants do to further lessen human contact. Food should be 5 stars.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite Chinese restaurant in Manchester. The food is great, but the hostess has a nasty attitude. My husband's card is worn out and he needs to get a new one. They were unable to swipe it and had asked for his ID to run it manually. No big deal. The hostess comes back, slaps the card on the table and tells us they can't accept the card. My husband politely asked why not. The waitress rudely says "Why? The owner told me we can't take it because it's not signed (it had his name on it and they had his ID) and it's a debit card". This was said with major attitude. We said something about her attitude when he came back with the cash and she denied having an attitude and would laugh every time she came over. Never going there again!

Yelp
Stop in for a late lunch service was good had the lunch special everything tasted great cooked like it should be no complaints here
google avatar

Rick T.

Yelp
Thought we'd give this place a try from a recommendation, well...not impressed. We had a table of 9 so we ordered plenty of food. Our table received a free order of crab ragoon. Of course, not enough to go around. Our fried rice showed up after our food was just about gone. The food was nothing special. My scorpion bowl for two was a single serve anywhere else it did come with 2 straws. Very typical Chinese food. I'll pass on a return visit. Sorry.

Yelp
I have fond memories of coming to the Aloha as a child. Specifically of my sister and I harassing our dad for quarters to play "Street Fighter" in the waiting area. Or the time my Dad reused to order my sister the French fries because we were "at a Chinese restaurant." Lol, anyways... Went here the other night with a friend and two young children, and the waitress was hands down the best I've ever had in terms of waitstaff dealing with two young children. You know what I mean- one is trying to slide down the booth to play on the floor and the other one is mixing up three different "potions" (her word, not mine). This waitress was amazing. She was so attentive and didn't seem the least bit annoyed or put off by our, shall we say, boisterous party. Will definitely be coming here again soon!!

David R.

Yelp
This place is an absolute disgrace. The bartender gave us the worst experience at a "restaurant" I have had in probably 10 years. One of the regulars was loud and obnoxious and obviously way over served, but all he would give us were bud lights and he supposedly forgot to give one of us vodka in his vodka soda water. Yes, you read that right. He served only soda water. Then, after not paying attention for about 10 minutes, he checked on food requests, took the orders and continued to give us attitude when we were trying to carry on a conversation and then decided to not serve us the food. It was the most bizarre experience I have had in years. Dirty, disgusting, terrible attitudes, astoundingly horrible service, and it looks like a mental patient is running the place with how run down it is. They couldn't pay me to step foot back in this dump. Disgraceful!!
google avatar

Diva M.

Yelp
Been going here off/on for a couple years. Went on Valentine's day and seated in the bar area. Bartender was rude. Food is always good but don't need to pay for drinks and dinner and get bad service. And we drive over half hour to get there We are done with this place. Too bad the food is always good
google avatar

Darren F.

Yelp
I'd rather use chopsticks to eat trash out a dumpster than return to this dump. The difference wouldn't be noticable. It's dirty inside, the food is atrocious and the service is awful. We went twice in the same week and had two different waitstaff who combined between them didn't take a drink order, didn't bring cutlery or napkins even by the tie the food was served, forgot items we had ordered, overcharged one bill and disappeared when we were looking to leave and get the bill. Never again.
google avatar

Amber G.

Yelp
Awesome Chinese food! I eat here all the time. The portions are nice sizes. I don't recommend going here on Christmas Eve or New Years, unless you arrive way before or after dinner. Otherwise the wait is hours long. I recommend this place to anyone who likes Chinese food.
google avatar

Ann M.

Yelp
They have the best Chineese food I have had in NH! People are great, and I can't say enough about how good the food is!

Yelp
My husband used to take me here when we were dating, towards the end of the 90's - he grew up in Manchester, and it was his Kowloon. Recently we were in the area, and it is one of the only restaurants open until 1am, and we were starving, so we went in. I can't remember the last time we were there, but it's probably been at least 10 years. It was almost 12:30am on a Saturday morning, so the bar was rockin', but the restaurant was almost empty. They gave us crab rangoon (instead of chicken wings, which is good, because I don't care for chicken wings) to gnaw on while waiting for the food - and the minute I ate a chicken finger I remembered why I liked the place so much. It isn't the best Chinese food I've ever had - and the place isn't so antiseptic you could eat off the floor. It reminds me of why I like Kowloon. The food is really good, the staff is really great, and it is convenient.

Ordered the meatless chow mein and a literal pound of bean sprouts in sauce was delivered to my door. if i were sober then i would not be giving this place 5 stars but honestly i ate most of it. I just pulled a bean sprout out of my bra. i am so lonely.

Yelp
Busy tonight! Service was great with everyone pitching in. Not sure of his name, but the blonde waiter did a great job. Food was great as always. Love this place!

Yelp
Sucks!!! Don't go here! Worst service. I left before I even ordered food. Dirty and depressing. Plus no one was in there. I should have taken that as the clue!
