This is a neighborhood gem. It's a bar with a huge variety of beers and amazing food. They've been in business since 1931 so closing in on a century. For a bar, they have a nice food menu. They're famous for their burgers. My wife and I split the one pound burger, medium rare. We had the "Chesapeake" burger. It's topped with cheese and crab imperial. It was amazing, and half the one pound burger was plenty. The burger comes with delicious fries. They split our order into two plates for us. This is a service that I've encountered before, but only in much more expensive restaurants. Our server mentioned that on Mondays, the one pound burger comes with a $5 discount. There are lots of delectable looking desserts available, but we're trying to lose weight, so we didn't have any. I entirely recommend Alonso's on Cold Spring Lane.

Great local spot to catch a game and get a bite to eat. We reserved a table for our party of 6 on a NFL playoff game night and they were very accommodating. They do cram a lot of people into the small space, FYI. They used to have an upstairs but don't seem to regularly use it much anymore. The place was packed and they only had one waitress working which was odd for a night they knew would be busy. With one waitress, the service could be slow which is no fault of hers. The food was all pretty good. Decent bar food. One of our burgers was ordered at medium rare and came out well done. The waitress took it back and the kitchen made us a new one.

Just stopped in for a burger and a beer on a random Tuesday or something around noon. Place was empty. Food was great. Bartender was cool. Seems like a super cool place but I can tell you they make a mean burger and the lunch vibes are chill AF.

Haven't been here for a very long time. I remembered it being very good. But the pizza that I just had was only so so and was burned on the bottom. My friend thought the cheesesteak was good. People were not impressed with other dishes. Basically not as good as it used to be apparently.

A neighborhood sports bar. Excellent food, very reasonably priced. Friends & I go there a lot. Try the deserts!

Classic Baltimore Dive, even if it is owned by Classic Catering. Burgers are legendary. It's a bar with really good bar food. 'Nuff said.

Mondays. Get the 1lb Alonso's Burger. $5 off. Classic Old School Baltimore Neighborhood Bar. Great barmaid/server too.

Google
Amazing bar with delicious food. Great crab cake and a perfect steak. Get the ribs too. And the burgers. And the pizza. I crave the food. Cozy and warm. Ricco is the best.

Yelp
Shame on us for letting life get in the way to our returning to Alonso's, especially to see Elaine. Oh, how we have missed Elaine, and the yummy food served up there! Elaine was delighted to see us. My husband ordered a 8 oz. burger with just blue cheese medium rare. It was perfectly cooked and loaded with flavor. His meal came with French fries. I initially was going for a Dizz favorite of Hot Turkey and mashed potatoes until I realized I would be eating a lot of turkey this month, so I changed my mind. I went for a dozen BBQ wings. I have to say they were the best wings I have had in a long time. They were meaty and delicious. They came with two containers of blue cheese dressing and celery sticks. Sorry, we forgot to take pictures when our meals arrived. We both thoroughly enjoyed our lunches.

Yelp
This is a great little neighborhood find. You have some truly local bartenders that are all quite friendly and attentive. The food (of what I've had) is quite good bar food and generous portions -always enough to bring home for the doggy. The dessert selection is always memorizing and we had several delicious desserts (highly rec the key lime or carrot cake). Pretty good beer/drink selection- only suggestion is to have a beer menu as it's often hard to tell what they have on draft or in cans.

Yelp
I drive past this place everyday on my way home from work and always wanted to stop in. Figured the food had to be good since they've been around since 1931 and the blackened salmon with mashed potatoes and squash medley did not disappoint. Incredibly delicious. Ordered for pickup and the food was ready as soon as I walked in. Can't wait to try more menu items

Yelp
Excellent burgers!! Homemade and cooked to order. Elaine is so kind and sweet! Highly recommend

Yelp
I joined my brother for a quick bite. We both commented that neither of us had been there in 30 years. The waitress was friendly with good attitude. The burgers were killer ! I would order again. Fries were the best kind ...the kind that would love gravy . Chicken wings were crispy on the outside and most on the inside...yes ! I will be back ...not sure about parking .I was there on a slow day .

Yelp
Ok. It's Alonso's. Thursday. Hit and miss over the years. Mostly hit... honestly. I keep going back because of the service. And the food. Sometimes... oftentimes, it's quite good. Pizza, burgers and wings. Calamari. They have new management and people from the Dizz. Reset. Foodies at the bar. Restaurant owner Tonight I looked at the menu. Lots of good options, the Rachel burger is always good, possibly the plain LTM & cheese. Maybe barbecue chicken pizza, often nice. I went for the crab cake platte at $24. Was $10 per cake as a salad add-on so I asked how many and of course, two. Comes with crispy fries. Sorry for the long buildup but these were the best crab cakes I've had in a very long while. Lumpy. Can taste the old bay... and crab. See the picture, I could only finish one. Sorry that you're looking at leftovers but I didn't expect this. This is a top notch crab cake. It is exactly what I hope for a crab cake to be. No special drizzle or remoulade on top, nothing fancy but well priced and worth the trip. I really mean it! Thanks Alonso's and have a good one. Great service as always btw. Sit at the bar for the best casual, no pressure, friendly, good-food experience. Update 4/1/20 Only FOOLS would not order delivery from here!! Man, same amazing crab cakes and a perfectly cooked burger. Wingers are awesome and Parmesan garlic tots are crispy. Order nobefore it's too late!!! Update 7/3 Oh man, Crabcake platter: It's like I'm eating crabs with my family on the porch and I'm back in the 70's. The flavor is perfect. Creamy, meaty lumpy Chesapeake goodness. Nailed it for the fifth time.

Yelp
If you order from here, stick with the burgers. I ordered a thin-crust Caesar salad pizza. It's literally a Caesar salad thrown on top of a bare (not exactly thin) pizza crust. If I wasn't so hungry for pizza, I'd laugh. Who thought this was a good idea?? Or thought it counted as pizza??
google avatar

Christine M.

Yelp
We were back in town and remember the burgers so we stopped in. Sat at the bar which was fine and had the chopped salsad with a crab cake. Crab cake was mediocre salad just ok . Past it's prime for sure !

Yelp
The prices are right and the wait staff were great. I had blackened chicken pasta and thought it was very tasty. My son had fish and chips and thought it was far too breaded with little fish but he's a teenager so will eat pretty much anything. Will probably return but stick with burgers which are always a hit. Good neighborhood staple and they treat people right!
google avatar

Brandon N.

Yelp
I had a very nice lunch with what was one of the best Reuben sandwiches I've had in a long time yesterday. The corned beef was super thin and juicy and the bread was a delicious thick slice of homemade rye. Beers were cold and they had a good variety of local craft options. I'd go back for sure.

Yelp
This place is pretty much the neighborhood bar people make TV shows about. When you sit there for about an hour you realize everyone seems to know each other. The happy hour specials are great. The beer is cheap and they have $5 the 1 lb burger menu items. The burger I had was full of flavor. I had the jalapeño variation. Take a look at the photo. With such great value this place is worth a visit.

Yelp
I have always liked Alonso's but haven't been in the area for sometime, so when I found myself close and hungry I was excited to return. My excitement would unfortunately be short-lived. Giving credit where credit is due I will Say that the wings are excellent. Plump and crispy with a tangy buffalo sauce. No complaint there. We ordered burgers. My daughter's was fine and she enjoyed it. I ordered a bison burger rare with no bun and received a bison burger well with a bun. The real issue was with the eggs we ordered. We both requested our burgers to be topped with a fried egg. We both requested the eggs be over easy. My daughter even said the words, "as runny as possible." What we were served were two eggs fried rock hard. The only reason that my daughter and I (and dare I say most people) want an egg is for the runny yolk that oozes over the burger. We brought this issue to the attention of the waitress and her response was amazing. "We take temperatures on burgers, we don't take temperatures on eggs." Well dumb and lazy as that may sound, the right time to tell us that would have been precious seconds after my daughter said, "runny as possible," not when our burgers arrived with two white hockey pucks on top. Won't be back.

Yelp
Still one of the best places for relaxation and small talk and good food. This business is nothing without the staff that continue to make our dining experience wonderful.

Yelp
We ordered from Uber Eats and this is the only time I have ever written a negative review of food I've ordered from there -- or any food really. I ordered The Godfather burger and I could tell no effort was put into it, a spoonful of garlic haphazardly thrown on one sad slice of pepper and cheese and a burger. There was no prosciutto which was a huge disappointment, since that's why I chose this burger. But my boyfriend's burger is the real reason for this review -- he ordered the Pimlico medium cooked and it was COMPLETELY uncooked, like pink and falling apart in a disgusting way. (I ordered mine medium as well and it was cooked just fine, so clearly they know how to do it but just chose not to in his case.) Now we're looking up what happens when you get food poisoning from uncooked meat... and trust me, you don't want it to happen to you, so stay away from Alonso's.

Yelp
I ordered the their food during COVID-19. Everything came fast and it was all good. We got the jumbo lump crab cakes which we delicious, wings which we niecy and crispy, the burger sliders were great according to my kids which are picky eaters, and the fries were fresh and so darn good! I also had the stuffed salmon and it was pretty good as well. I look forward to ordering from here again.

Yelp
Great happy hour with $3.00 premium drafts. Great food including sandwiches made with house baked turkey breast, burgers and pizza. The staff including the manager, Elaine, is excellent.
google avatar

Yelp
Should be called Alonso-sos for average food, meh service and watery tasting beer. My Rachel Burger was big, flavorful and cooked exactly as ordered(pink) but my wife's crab cake sandwich was cool which is, well, not cool. Fries were OK.
google avatar

Yelp
Our last couple experiences here have forced me to take back one of the stars I initially gave them. Such (piss) poor service anymore. They seem nice enough when you interact with them but it's like pulling teeth to get them to come back to your table to interact with you, i.e. take your drink order, bring said drink order, take your food order, ask if you need anything, acknowledge you're even there. Are you seeing a pattern here? As for the food, still hit or miss. The one special they offered was a French Dip, which we all Ooh'ed and Ahh'ed over until the waitress clarified that it wasn't served with the au jus. Whaaaa? Isn't that pretty much what constitutes it as a French Dip? The wings are nothing to write home about and the bland, oil-logged fries are still not improved. So disappointing.

Yelp
I've been here a number of time because it is convenient. Beer selection and bar are okay. The bartenders are typically friendly but the staff and management, in general, are absolutely miserable. Not bad people - but it is clear they hate their jobs. The place is in disrepair, the food is uneven and often takes forever. It is pretty clear the owner invests little in staff or upkeep. On my last visit the staff started stacking bar stools on the bar right next to us as we finished drinks, the moment it hit 10:30, closing time. That is just how they roll at Alonso's.
google avatar

Michaek S.

Yelp
Burgers and fries were good. Atmosphere dive-barish comfy. But- we were not made to feel welcome. Had a locals only vibe- staff was friendly but barely so. We felt more like we were forced to order eat and leave quickly. It's a bar with good food but there are alot of them.

Yelp
I have traveled to many taprooms and restaurants throughout America and this is a first for me - a neighborhood bar with a diverse tap beer selection that also serves superlative Indian cuisine right at the bar. Sharing a wall with Alonso's next door is the always well-reviewed Indian Restaurant, Namaste that has established itself as a local favorite. You can now order from Namaste's menu right at the bar at Alonso's. This unique pairing will not disappoint and I couldn't recommend the experience highly enough. Bartender Darcy gets a special nod for being so gracious and engaging. Ned B. Baltimore, MD

Yelp
Old established local bar right across the street from Loyola university. They have two full bars, full restaurant, and packaged goods. Maybe 10 total tables. More of a bar food vibe. We visit every time we are in town, and enjoy a beer and a crabcake. Crabcakes are excellent, and they have lots of good beers on tap. Service is solid. Mike Busik is the man Very Baltimore and we love it

Yelp
I came here on a Monday evening with some friends for their Monday night burger night. On Monday evenings, their 1lb burger is $10. They have a lot of seating, overall a relaxed/chill sports bar. The service was decent- the bartender initially wasn't too friendly, but warmed up to us and went as far explaining how scoring for tennis worked. Their menu is pretty extensive- your run of the mill bar food; and they have 10 or more choices when it comes to burgers. Their burgers are decent, but nothing mind blowing. They're HUGE, considering that they are 1lb burgers and most of us could not finish it. While the $10 for 1lb burger is a great deal, I can see otherwise, why others on yelp have complained that their food is overpriced. My only other complaint is that I did get sick after eating their burger. Don't know if it was undercooked or something. Overall, decent deal for their Monday night burgers, otherwise I can see it being overpriced for the quality of food you get. Don't expect too much when it comes to the taste of the food though...just your run of the mill bar food.

Yelp
We live nearby, so Alonso's is an easy place to go when we don't feel like driving anywhere. Usually it's for a beer and the Old Bay wings, which are good and crisp. The burgers are good, the servers are friendly, but we always know we'll be in for a bit of a wait with service, and maybe inconsistent results with some of the menu items. It's a pleasant surprise to see the woman working there from The Dizz (now closed). So nice to see her, and here's hoping she'll kick things up a notch so this can become a 5 star review!

Yelp
We've tried here twice- the first time my husband wanted a specific pizza and they were out of basil. They gave him the pizza without it & when he asked for it, they said they were out. They were apologetic, so he let it go. Tonight we went and my son and I wanted to share a pizza- half what he wanted, half what I wanted. They don't do halves- um, what?? Why on earth not?? And for as expensive as their pizza is, that's ridiculous. I decided on a burger with a veggie burger instead- they just sold their last one. Pretzel & cheesesteak were greasy, croutons on our salad were burnt. I really wanted to like this place and really wanted to give them a 2nd chance. I spent $90 on a dinner that sucked - way overpriced for 2 apps, a cheesesteak, a burger, a pizza & a salad. Sorry Alonso's- you blew it tonight.

Ashley M.

Yelp
Food had an odd taste...ordered through Grubhub, and delivery was fine. Could not eat my pizza, it had an almost sanitizer taste. Too much cheese, and it had congealed. I mentioned this to my partner and they stated their food also tasted weird. As I tasted their Chicken Parmesan, I gathered it was the red sauce from both of our dishes. The chicken had zero flavor, even with S&P added. Description of the pretzel was odd, as we assumed it was a standard soft pretzel with sides of cheese and crab dips. The pretzel has these items baked on, maybe even twice, because it was dry. Overall, lackluster meal and disappointed for wasting money.

Yelp
One--and only one--word comes to mind when I hear Alonso's: big. The burgers are big: one pound, to be exact. So are the delicious nachos that our table of five shared (from the menu of the other restaurant in this building, Loco Hombre). The beer selection is immense, too. There are two dozen varieties on the menu, including many local microbrews. Finally, the burgers. There are three one-pounders on the menu; I had the Black and Blue: an Angus beef patty charred and topped with bleu cheese. I was starving (I had run a marathon the day before), but I had a tough time finishing it all. No complaints, though. Even better than the food was the Monday night specials. All beers are $2 (!), and the burgers are $10. I was impressed by the dining room, which on that night was half-full of middle-aged couples, and the friendly young servers. My hosts are regulars at Alonso's; after one night there, I can see why.

Yelp
Our group bombarded this place one evening after a swim meet with about 20 plus people and the crew at Alonso's handle it like pros! We were not only seated, fed and "watered" in a timely manner, the food experience was great, I ordered the burger and fries (...like who can mess that up, I was thinking), but to my surprise the burger was juicy and flavorful, Thanks Daniel! Johns Hopkins Swimming thanks you!!!

Yelp
Are you kidding? I'm the first to Yelp this place? This place is awesome. Great little neighborhood restaurant that's been around since '31. I did my undergrad right across the street at Loyola. This place gets the full 5 because of the world famous (Baltimore City, anyway) Alonso Burger. A whole pound of beefy goodness loaded with your choice of fixin's on a Kaiser. You won't really have much room for the fries, but have at it if you're really hungry. Give 'em some time to cook it though (they'll tell you that). It's pretty thick, and you may have to eat it in sections. But please respect the burger and don't cut it with your knife into little chunks. Come on! Two hands, people! And you might as well get it with the bacon. What're you, on a diet? Alonso's if you're reading this, do you ship to California?

Avas S.

Yelp
Go here all the time with my friends and so far everything has come out great. Couldn't recommend this place enough
google avatar

Rebecca G.

Yelp
We've had a few good meals here, and a few sub-par ones, and wanted to update to note the inconsistencies. D usually gets a burger, and it's about 50/50 whether it'll be cooked to the temperature ordered, or show up overcooked and bland. The toppings selection is nice, though. The bolognese is our favorite of the pasta sauces, but the pasta in it is also hit or miss - sometimes seems like it was par-cooked so it's mushy, and sometimes it's decent. Chips and salsa have been stale once or twice, and the margarita has been different every time we've ordered it. That's not an awful thing - it's always been drinkable, it's just not consistent. Sometimes very limey, sometimes very sweet, sometimes lots of orange flavor. We got a slice of key lime pie on visit over this past summer, and it was so incredibly tiny. Not sure how it can be called a real slice - it'd be better if they listed it as "mini slices" or something that set more realistic expectations. This was smaller than our forks! They do have good service, though - everybody's always friendly, and it's a nice place to watch the game.
google avatar

Kate P.

Yelp
The food was really bad. We spend about $60 dollars and got an order of wings (which were alright) and a half-rack of ribs (which were bad). They do have a nice selection of beer - we ordered two. We had dessert, which was mediocre. The main reason I'm giving this two stars is because the food was not very great and the price was much too high for the quality. It is a nice casual atmosphere - more of a place to grab a beer and watch the game than a restaurant. I'll never eat here again, unless it's a plate of fries or something with a beer. (Actually, I didn't like the fries, so I wouldn't order them). I did have the old bay pita chips once and those were quite tasty. Service was just ok - they were nice but forgot something and weren't very attentive.

Yelp
1st time: Great burger (and on sale on Monday's!) Pleasant waitress 2nd time: Sad pulled pork sandwich Unpleasant waitress Other reviewers: Correct Future attendance: Dubious

Yelp
My only complaint about Alonso's is that I didn't eat here sooner. I had stopped in with a friend for a beer at one point, but we didn't get anything to eat at the time. Stopped in myself this afternoon and I was not disappointed. I ordered the Jalapeño burger with tater tots and it was spot on! Paired with the Southern tier live IPA, suggested to me by my waiter and bartender Pat, I was one happy camper. The tots were crispy and well seasoned and the burger was everything I had hoped for. I'm a sucker for a good burger and a jalapeño popper- put them together and it was all a girl could ask for! I will definitely be back soon.
google avatar

Henry W.

Yelp
It had bean a while since I have bean to this place. From what I remembered last time the food was not great, but they have improved, and the burgers are now good and the wings are good too. I would come back again but I will say it can be expensive. Family friendly, and good place to go with friends.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
Came here last night for a cheapy bite during the week. It's totally casual, family friendly and awesome. Just what we wanted. I'm not really a burger person, but I looked around and it seemed like that was the thing to get. They have a huge selection of burgers and pizzas on the menu. I got the "Godfather" burger which had peppers and some delicious cheese and was cooked to perfection. Wednesday is half off a bottle of wine night, so clearly we picked a good night to go! The meal ended up costing a little more than I expected but we got an appetizer, wine and dessert so, what can you do? The service was excellent. Our waitress accidentally brought us the wrong bottle of wine. We didn't care, it was a nicer bottle. But it was a couple dollars more. She very graciously apologized and took the extra money off the check. Win, win. Love the laid back atmosphere of this place, the stellar service and delicious burgers. Will definitely be back soon.
google avatar

Kimberly J.

Yelp
Has the potential to be my coworkers and my happy hour spot but maybe just for drinks. The service was ok. The hostess downstairs was a tad bit rude. We are unaware that the upstairs bar was just opening up. We were heading up the steps and she barks out "they're not setting up yet so you have to wait!" We wait a little and head up. We get up there and the bartenders were leaned against the bar like they had been waiting to receive patrons for quite some time. They were very friendly to us through. They were kind enough to explain the happy hour specials. I had a $5 margarita and $5 glass of white sangria, both very delicious! The food was another story. I ordered crabby Tots. They were ok, just crab dip on tater tots. I wish it was also topped with cheese. I've had better. My coworker ordered lemon pepper and old Bay wings. Big mistake! It was like they dumped the whole can of seasoning onto the wings. It was so bad, I was scrapping old Bay from one wing onto my crabby Tots to season them and the wing was still to salty. She sent them back and get an order of honey bbq wings. Overall, it's a winner for drinks! The kitchen needs to rethink what's going wrong with the food because that was disappointing.
google avatar

Greta B.

Yelp
A very cozy atmosphere serving signature FULL POUND burgers!!!! The crab dip pretzel is the REAL DEAL!!! Fried green tomatoes with lump crab....OMG!!! My burger with fries was great! Def need to share; especially if you have apps. Their sangria was marginal - no fruit, nothing to request a second time. The service was not good. Slow. The chef didn't understand the various degrees of well done. 3/4 of us had to send our back. One came back a totally different burger than was ordered. Yet in all, I would return for the apps!
google avatar

Alex P.

Yelp
2.5 stars. Could be higher but consistency is what they lack. This is a burgers and beer place with sucky service. When they get the burger right, it's borderline very good.

Yelp
I don't know why Alonso's doesn't have more positive reviews. Working on Falls Road, this is one of my favorite lunch spots. There's something on the menu for everyone - Mexican, pizza, sandwiches, burgers, salads. Seriously, it doesn't matter what you're in the mood for, there is something there for you. Every dish is pretty solid. I've tried almost everything on the menu: - Mexican (it's not authentic of course, but the burritos and fajitas are yummy) - Burgers - Not the best, but still very good. I don't eat burgers often so if I do get a burger it better be worth the calories. These are. There are probably 20 different varieties and you can swap out the burger for a grilled chicken breast or turkey, too. The bun is okay - nothing to write home about. THE FRIES - again, I don't eat unhealthy food all the time and I am a stickler for fries. These are good. Don't forget to ask for the malt vinegar! - Pizza - Very thin crust, different varieties (Buffalo chicken, etc.). Not the best and certainly not my first choice on the menu, but it will do the trick if you're in the mood for pizza. I'm a fan of NY style, but for the thin crust lovers out there, you will likely be happy. - Salads - I've had the fajita salad and the Cobb. Both were good. I was a bit disappointed that the fajita vegetables were raw as opposed to cooked (that makes no sense to me). Fresh greens, good chicken, a solid choice if you want to eat on the lighter side. - Chips and salsa - Meh. I do remember liking the queso though. At this point I've been here countless times and there's a reason I keep going back - it's good food and there's something for everyone. I've only gone at lunch so I don't know what the weekend and dinner crowd looks like, but during the work day you'll never been unable to find a table. Try it out and then go back and try something different. This place is worth a shot!

Yelp
Have eaten here before, let me preference this review with that. We have eaten at both restaurants, Alonzo's as well as Loco Hombre. We had been out all day at children's sporting events and needed nourishment. Our stomachs and watches were both telling us it was dinner time! Decided on Alonzo's for a quick dinner and then homeward bound. Husband had the "usual" wings and beer (staple in his diet ;), youngest had butter noodles (not much to report there), daughter had the sliders and I had ... well the peel and eat shrimp and a side salad. I ordered a pound of steamed shrimp. Mind you, they were very large shrimp but unfortunately we're not cooked correctly and the majority of the shell stuck to the shrimp as I attempted to eat them. A good bit of the shrimp was wasted, and non-edible. Frustrating! But the salad was yummy! Service was a bit slow and our waiter seem to be missing a good bit of the time. Drinks ran low and then empty. All had water, an iced tea for me and one beer for the hubs. Bill came, $78, yikes! Not sure if our next quick bite will be here?

Yelp
The food was good but the service was terrible. Our first bartender was great, but then he had to leave so our new bartender showed up. Ryan was not as attentive and focused on other things. He forgot about putting in food orders and forgot about many drink orders from the time he started his shift. When management became involved a few hours later it became the customers fault and not his own. He was trying to charge a pregnant woman for alcoholic beverages which she did not order; all she had was fried pickles. Instead of owning up to his mistake pride got in the way l, of both him and his manager, and so we were asked to leave Like I said, our original bartender was great, but after he left it was all downhill from there.

Yelp
Has wine Wednesday's but not staffed enough and does not have enough wine stocked for customers. They make you wait for 17 people to leave just so 2 people can go upstairs. The staff is rude and the drinks and food isn't even that good. Come here if you want to waste 2 hours of your life doing jack shit !

Yelp
I ordered from this place through UBEREATS. There was no problem with the delivery. The food was unbelievable looking and tasting. I ordered a pizza and wings. The pizza crust was strange to me. It was flat and burned on the bottom. The cheese looked like cream cheese. The five toppings looked vomit. I threw this mess in the trash. A waste of money. The wings were hard and dry. I ordered the pizza for my grandson, who loves pizza. He ate half of one slice. He usually eats 3 slices from other places. My advice if you want pizza and wing, just order from one of the chains.

Yelp
We just received an order from Alonso's via Grubhub and are beyond disappointed. We ordered 2 burgers with fries, pretty basic. My husband opened the first box which had clearly been prepared much earlier. There was condensation on the box and the food was cold. Next, I open my box and there is a hair on the burger. My husband called the restaurant and they apologized but stated that we needed to take it up with Grubhub. Called Grubhub put him on hold and called the restaurant. They said they would give us a refund.

Yelp
Visited Alonso's with a Groupon recently and very glad we did. There's no way I would tackle a 1 lb burger, why would anyone? That's simply over eating. We thoroughly enjoyed our regular sized burger and sliders with a couple great local brews. Sitting at the bar was sort if accidental. W&d decide to stay put and order good while waiting for our table. Service was ok and could have been better but the bar tender was taking care of service bar too so we gave him some slack since he was pleasant and nice otherwise. The next time we go we're going to try the pizza, it looks really good! I love a thin crust. I do miss the old days when Alonso's was larger and the bar was a big horseshoe. Long long time ago, well, at least 15 yrs?

Yelp
If you're in the mood for burgers and deep fried potatoes, pickles, and onions, Alonso's is the place to go. Beer selection could be better, but overall not bad. The food was good, but overpriced for bar food. We started with fried pickle chips, which at $8, is definitely too much for pickles, but they were done well, there were a ton of them, and the dipping sauce was pretty good. I didn't eat lunch the day we went here for dinner, so I ordered a burger. Not the "large" burger, but the small one, and I still had leftovers. I liked my Western burger better than my husband's smokehouse burger, but both were cooked exactly how we asked for them, tasted great, and were accompanied by good fries and onion rings. I can get the same thing at other places for less, and at the same quality, but Alonso's was quiet, and not crowded, so it has that going for it over other similar joints.

Yelp
Just moved to town and decided to try out some local grub. My girlfriend ordered from Alonso's via Uber Eats, which took longer than estimated. The food finally arrived - cold and almost inedible. The $15 "fish & chips" were the saddest excuse for fish & chips I have ever seen in my life. Seriously, a 6 year old could've done better. I ordered the Pimlico burger which is said to come with horseradish on it and there wasn't any. The burger was supposed to be cooked medium, but this cow was still mooing. Still not sure why I decided to eat it, I'll update if I end up with food poisoning. They also gave us 8 sides of ranch dressing for some reason, when neither entree warranted the condiment (I do love ranch though, make no mistake). Overall terrible experience - first and LAST time we subject ourselves to that putrid, overpriced food.
