The 10 Best Restaurants Near Denali National Park, Alaska | Eater

"If you hang out here long enough, you’ll see why this restaurant got its moniker. Named for the rose-gold light the setting sun paints upon the nearby mountains, this mountaintop establishment, housed within the Grande Denali Lodge, has views that are nothing short of spectacular. They also run one of the more innovative cocktail programs in the area and boast the most upscale menu options, so it’s a lovely place for a special occasion. Start with the grilled corn salsa-topped salmon cakes, followed by the sweet potato gnocchi served with root vegetables and a birch syrup cream sauce." - Bailey Berg

Lots of windows to check out absolutely amazing view! We came here in July. Love the staff, they work soooo hard. They are amazing. They are from all over the world. Food was fresh. Everything thing was good! Drinks were all good. Afterwards there is an outdoor balcony with telescopes to view far away mountains. Worth every penny!

Good selection of dishes, including some healthy options. Service was very good and the overall meal was flavorful, even if a few things didn’t match the menu exactly. Our black barley was swapped for quinoa in the salmon dish and no shaved squashwas on the plate. The Tundra salad was missing a few advertised veggies (watermelon radish and carrots). The salmon was slightly overcooked despite our request for medium, so we’ll try medium rare next time. My husband wasn’t a fan of the cold ricotta on the warm pasta, but that might come down to personal taste. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but I guess that’s expected in Alaska. But the view alone makes it worth it.

Google
Aapenglow has an amazing view of Denali NP with a wrap around patio area. The restaurant has a limited menu for dinner, but some tasty choices. The prices are rather high, but it is probably a better restaurant choice for adults only vs families with young kids. There is a small kids menu, however. The food was pretty tasty...highly recommend the focaccia bread. The salmon chowder was too rich for my taste, but still delicious. The salmon main dish was delightful. Service is prompt and very friendly. The atmosphere was the best part in a high ceiling lodge environment.

Google
High quality menu here with an amazing view. Service can be a bit patchy but what’s coming out of the kitchen is very solid. Recommend.

Alpenglow Restaurant, located adjacent to the Grand Denali Lodge, offers a delightfully upscale dining experience with its charming ambiance, impeccable service, and creative cuisine. **Ambiance: 5/5** With a breath taking view of the Alaska Range, and rustic wooden furnishings, The Alpenglow is truly a gem. **Service: 5/5** The staff provides exceptional service, from warm greetings to knowledgeable menu recommendations. Their genuine hospitality enhances the dining experience. **Food: 5/5** The menu features fresh, locally influenced dishes. For an appetizer the Reindeer and Melon Flatbread was light, fresh, and incredibly flavorful. The Pork Shanks were hearty and tasted great with the reindeer sausage. The Shrimp and Grits were the best shrimp and grits I have ever had! The grits were incredibly creamy and the shrimp tasted fresh and was seasoned to perfection. Desserts like the Coffee Cake Bread Pudding are the perfect end to the meal. **Value: 5/5** While on the pricier side, the quality of food, service, and ambiance justifies the cost. **Overall: 5/5** The Alpenglow is a must-visit if you find yourself in the area, offering an enchanting dining experience that delights and leaves a lasting impression.

Absolutely fabulous food, drinks, service, and atmosphere! The view from the dining room and bar is nothing short of breathtaking. Although the Executive Chef has only been there for two seasons, don’t let older reviews deter you—this place is a gem! We ordered the salmon and the pork chop, and my husband requested a special preparation for his chop, which was accommodated with ease. Both dishes were cooked to perfection! Our server, Colin, provided attentive and professional service that truly enhanced our experience. I highly recommend this dining destination for an unforgettable meal!

Google
To those who love to see alaska for all its beauty from moutain view, this place is spectacular. But if you wish to enjoy the fresh delights of foods that alaska has to offer, I highly recommend not coming here unless you come to just enjoy a bit of soup and appetizer. I came to the resteraunt when they opened and even reserved a table for me and one other friend in advance so we could fully enjoy all that the resteraunt had to offer. We ended up staying for three hours for the two of us to have soup, appetizer, dinner, and dessert. And to any local, they would know, it doesn't take 45 minutes to cook a salmon. Sadly, the only thing enjoyable was our hostess being so kind and caring to us, soup, and appetizer. To end up paying a bit over $100 a person and get sub-par meals is very disappointing. For this, I will not return and stay to my passion to keep to local mom and pop places. For you can taste the love and passion they put into their dishes, and not bury it in kosher salt.

Yelp
Amazing views, amazing food! All of the photos that are on here are from years ago and a different chef, the food here is by far the best around denali national park! Worth the drive up the mountain for the great cocktails and delicious food! The service is impeccable! Very knowledgeable servers and bartenders!

Yelp
Went up here curious about the view... just in time for their restaurant to open. Me & hubby decided to have our dinner here. Love their chowder but the rest is okay. Service is quick & staff are friendly.

Yelp
Not many choices for food in this tourist town but this limited menu at the hotel helped us survive our first night. Seasonal staff has plenty of life stories to share to enhance your vacation. Bar service was quick and the drinks were tasty. Great views of the mountains!

Jeanell S.

Yelp
I struggled to give 3 stars, 2.5 is probably more appropriate. The food was good, not great, but good. It is very pricy, for the quality it should have been priced at least 20% lower, if not more. The bartender was awesome, fast & efficient. Now for the disappointing part. We ordered drinks at the bar for ourselves and at the table for our kids, then we immediately ordered food since we'd seen the menu at the bar. We ordered 3 apps and 3 entrees for 4 people. Once the entrees came, we stopped our waiter and ordered 2 glasses of wine, he didn't bring our food and we hadn't seen him since ordering. Our waiter finally stopped by our table as he saw a busser removing plates, we asked if he ever put our wine order in and he looked towards the bar and said, "no, not yet" , I told him to never mind since we had finished our meals. He walked away. He came back 5 minutes later and dropped off the bill, never asked how our food was, if we need anything else, never said a word. My husband flagged him down and asked if they served dessert, he said yes and rattled off 3 things...my husband ordered a sorbet for our kids to split. He came back about 10 minutes later with a hand held card reader, no updated bill and was ready for payment I guess. The bill was $197, no apology for the missed drink order, no offer to comp the ONE dessert for the mishap, still no asking about how our meal was, nothing. And that is the tip I left him, NOTHING! All he did was take a food order, he didn't bring it, ask about it, clear it, nothing. We usually tip 18-25% depending on service, so thank you CONNER, you saved us about $40....I guess closer to $80 since we never got the wine.

Yelp
Excellent food for a national park vendor. Special shoutout to Fabian's the fabulous mixologist who made a PB&J martini that was OUTSTANDING!!!! A must try if you like whisky. The seafood croquettes were an appetizer that I used as an entree which was satisfying. The seafood chowder was delicious and hit the spot. The fifth star is especially for the Fabulous Fabiana mixologist.

Yelp
If not for the tasty salad this review would be 2 stars. We had the fish n chips. The chips were good but the fish was very dry and overdone. Our server was sweet but we had to wait for water. The Christmas theme is odd because it's not done well. Very cheesy and sparse decor. For the very high prices it isn't worth the money but unfortunately we are stuck at the Grande Lodge with no way to leave or we would certainly do that!!

Yelp
Everything about this place is pretty average. First of all the waiters are running around and it took us about 10 minutes to get a menu (we sat ourselves at a table). I would recommend skipping the mango-sage-ade mocktail. It doesn't taste as good and I wasn't able to finish it. Definitely wasn't worth the $10. My dad enjoyed his amber beer ($9). The menu is super limited with only one vegetarian option. The pesto pasta was pretty good and for $29 it was a decent portion. The chicken was however $33 and just had 2 grilled tenders on a bed of mashed potatoes with a few asparagus spears. We didn't have any waiters come by and check on us while we were eating or anytime during the duration of our meal. We had to go up to the bar to order and to get our check, because a waiter never came to us after waiting for so long. The restaurant area is a nice cozy spot though with games for people who want to play, eat and drink. It was definitely a one time thing coming here and I'm sure there are other options in the Denali area.

Yelp
The place is beautiful, the service is great, but the food.... Overpriced and just not great. The salmon arrived overcooked and very dry. I never send back food, but it just impossible to eat. When I sent it back, the waiter asked me "what temperature I wanted it cooked in" .. When it came back, it was still too dry and overcooked.

Yelp
We ate here the past two nights . We like to sit at the bar . Kayleigh was our server. She definitely knew the menu and accommodated our requests. Bruce had salmon the first night. It was fantastic! He had haddock the 2nd night . He asked for it blackened and they accommodated his request . The haddock was the best ! I had the cauliflower steak the first night . So nice to find a tasty vegetarian and entree ! The 2 nd night I had the pasta dish . Quite a lot of pasta and very few vegetables. The flavor was great, but too much oil for my palate . We are here during the Riley fire , and a lot of restaurants have only a limited menu . The ambiance of the Aspen is amazing !

Yelp
My husband and I dined in for dinner last night and had Shengyu as our server. He provided perfect service and was super friendly and knowledgeable. We were even talking today how wonderful he was. We started off with the house salad with balsamic vinaigrette and I had a cup of soup of the day which was a vegetable red bean barley. I enjoyed both. We ordered the prawn appetizer which my husband kept all to himself since I don't do much seafood. He said it was okay but not his favorite and he would try something else next time. For entrees, I had the filet mignon which came with asparagus and au gratin potatoes. I cleared my plated. I really enjoyed my dinner. Same goes my husband had the seafood pasta which he really liked. The portions aren't huge considering the price but I also didn't expect much to be cheap in Alaska. For dessert we had the huckleberry icecream. It was delicious!!! My husband had two beers during dinner (hazy pale ale and then a corona) and I had one glass of house wine sauvignon blanc. After dinner we went to the bar area to have a couple drinks and mingle with other guests. We had a blast! The bartenders, Alejando and Fabiana, were SO FUN. They are in town working for the season and were so nice to interact with and they made delicious drinks. They definitely built great relationships with the guests since many of them knew each other by name. We will definitely be back later tonight for some more fun and drinks.

Anish N.

Yelp
The food was average!!! Only good thing was the view. Service was great!! Three appetizers of what we ordered were all sweet.

Mark L.

Yelp
It's a hotel restaurant. Fine dining only in price. The menu suggests the chef doesn't trust the suppliers or the staff and perhaps he is correct in that regard. Service was lackluster.
google avatar

Yelp
Had breakfast at the alpenglow, buffet style. Good coffee, lots of options to pick from. Thank you Eddy for the food, it was great and Marcia for your service.

Yelp
I generally don't write negative reviews. I rarely want to dwell on bad experiences. I will make an exception. For this place. It's so bad that I feel it necessary to warn people. I ordered the king salmon/. It was $52. See the picture. This salmon was worse than the fish I get in Tucson...and it was badly overcooked and dried out. It is obvious that they keep these in a steam tray. Four pieces of asparagus. $52. Undercooked potatoes that were borderline cold. $52. The view is the reason this place gets an extra star. Avoid it. It is insanely overpriced with terrible food.

Jay T.

Yelp
We went for breakfast and all of the plates were dirty. I understand things are more expensive up here but there really should be clean dishes. I'm shocked I didn't get food poisoning here. We ended up using clean plates, don't use the plastic ones because they didn't clean those. No one seemed to care. It just seemed like they weren't ready for any type of crowd. The staff were trying to hustle and keep up. The location is nice. Just please have clean plates.
google avatar

Monica S.

Yelp
Great view and food not bad We ordered the veggie plate ( a lot of tofu, but healthy) chowder ( ok) scallops ( loved it) , elk and king crab ( hubby liked it) , and salad. I have had the experience that sockeye salmon is very dry so did not order it! The worst part was the wine selection, meh. A bit $$$ We also went for breakfast and for $25 buffet, it was subpar--- i would have expected them to make personalized omelettes.
google avatar

Doug B.

Yelp
$30 for a mediocre breakfast buffet? I know we are not in Kansas, but I think they are taking advantage of the location and betting no one will walk down the hill. Dinner menu expensive also but in full transparency, I never ate there for dinner.
google avatar

Tracy Y.

Yelp
Beautiful and scenic restaurant. The food was good and our server was great. It sits up high on a cliff side so you're sure to have nice views. The portions were huge. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for good American food with an awesome view.

Roberta R.

Yelp
Other than the view there is nothing to recommend about the restaurant. Very limited menu with exorbitant prices. Food was mediocre. One dish sent back as the halibut was dry and the accompanying pasta was actually crunchy. We were still charged for the dish. The breakfast buffet (the ONLY option) was $29.95 and worth PERHAPS $9.95 Overcooked sausage, undercooked bacon , hard waffles and unripe fruit. I guess as there is a captive audience they can get away with this. I will never return nor recommend to anyone traveling to Denali.

Yelp
Wow, rarely do I encounter this level of indifference for a guest - for the restaurant or the hotel Walked in with my wife looking for a place to stay and a bite to eat Front desk was not really interested to chatting with us ( 3 people chatting amongst themselves) Moved to the bar and asked him a few questions and he really was rude My wife then asked if he knew where a particular hotel was... he said, and i quote "no", yes, just "no" My wife said I am sorry to bother you... he said "how would I know, I don't live here" So, as you can imagine, we left to find another place to eat and stay. As I said at the beginning WOW - amazed this place is still in business
google avatar

Lillie S.

Yelp
Very disappointed. My Beef Tenderloin dish was very poorly executed, for $48 i would expect a better dish. On the other hand the soup of the day (Broccoli and cheese) was delicious. I should have ordered a bowl of it, instead of the small cup. They also took quite a long time bring our food out. The restaurant wasn't even busy. Service was ok. Spectacular views from inside and outside the restaurant though.

Victoria C.

Yelp
Food was less than mediocre-- and expensive. Very much lacking in service and attitude. There was one really nice server, but the service.... I can say that the view was as if I was looking down from the Heavens.

C G.

Yelp
We were booked into the lodge as part of a lane/ cruise tour. Read other reviews about mediocre food--it's the truth. On the menu was fish and chips--potato chips! My British husband was flabbergasted. $37! We had the basic pasta offering night one, down to glitter gulch for night two! FABULOUS dinner at MooseAKA! Just go.
google avatar

Daryl M.

Yelp
Great food and service! The crab legs were excellent and accompanied by some great asparagus and fingerling potatoes. We also enjoyed the hearty salmon chowder after a long day in Denali National Park. Pleasant and professional wait staff greeted us and the halibut was wonderful with its squash slaw and tomato-based sauce! Enjoy a beautiful view from the deck with the ever-expanding Denali forest just beyond the bridge. A great restaurant to visit when you're staying so close! The crab cakes were a great start and the house Sauvignon was spot on! Great place and would definitely visit again!
google avatar

Happy M.

Yelp
Oh lordy, avoid this restaurant unless nothing else is open. The view is decent but the food is not tasty at all; for the price you can do way better within a 1-2 mile radius. We ended up taking most of our stuff to go and eventually just tossed it, since no one wanted to eat it later either.
google avatar

Terri D.

Yelp
It was just average. Nothing special. Had lobster ravioli The cream brûlée was charred in the top with bad burnt taste.
google avatar

J P.

Yelp
Very expensive, poor food quality.... Figured the hotel restaurant would be good place to eat, but not so much. Restaurant staff were attentive though
google avatar

David R.

Yelp
We are staying at the Grande Denali Lodge and figured keep it simple the first night, eat at the hotel restaurant. Extremely disappointing food, priced like fine dining but underwhelming. My salmon and my wife's fish and chips came out only minutes after we ordered, must have been pre-staged. Everything was low on flavor and underwhelming. Great building with great views, but we will eat elsewhere the rest of the trip.

Stan M.

Yelp
Great service. We ordered the salmon and the halibut and both pieces of fish were overdone and dry. The salmon skin was not crispy as it was laid directly on the couscous. Expensive at $41 per plate. The saving grace for our dinner was the friendly server.

Lori M.

Yelp
Breath of fresh air for the dismal restaurant choices in the Denali area. The food was excellent and well prepared. The bar staff was awesome, especially Hayley! Try the Northern Lights drink and the crab croquettes appetizer
google avatar

Janice H.

Yelp
The views, amazing. Our service, top notch. The food, all perfectly prepared. The halibut fish and chips, delicious, decadent. The fish chowder, really well done. The greens, piled high, fresh and lightly covered with a complementary dressing. Almost didn't come because of the poor reviews. Prices aren't cheap, but it's a premium location. I would forgive a lot for the views but didn't have to forgive anything. We ate the food before photographing... only views
google avatar

Mary A.

Yelp
Note: we ate here a year ago but i didn't realize i didn't post the review! We had an amazing meal at Alpenglow. This restaurant has the best views in Denali. It is perched on a hillside facing the peaks of the Alaska Range. Every seat has a view that is spectacular. The name of the restaurant is from German and means "the rosy light of the setting or rising sun seen on high mountains." We were seated quickly and with enthusiasm. All of the servers are seasonal and represent a wide swath of the world including Bulgaria, Kosovo, Jamaica, and of course the United States. Some had only studied English for 6 months or less and some for 14 years or more. All were happy to be working at the Alpenglow. We were provided appetizers that were simply amazing. They won't necessarily be on your menu but are examples of what they can provide for catering events so i won't bother describing them but check out the pictures.

Yelp
This was a pleasant surprise in the midst of a lot of mediocre restaurants. We were at the Denali Princess Lodge which soon revealed itself as a tourist trap ! One of the bartenders on premises suggested Alpenglow & he was spot on ... 'not cheap, great views & very good food'. We were greeted w a smile & offered a 4 top with exceptional view when we were only party of two. The view is breath taking ! We went on a dreary rainy day in early August & your so high up the mist & low clouds come & go giving you a spectacular peak at nature's beauty! The trip up the mountain is steep & the signs they post are humorous & worth reading! Plenty of parking and they have a bar with ample seating. Once seated we had delicious kettle one vodka martinis ($12) followed by the best New England clam chowder (definitely get the bowl). Wedge salad was delicious (may need to request extra dressing) but fresh, tasted & delicious ! For Entrees we ordered the King Crab Legs (MP $70) and Beef Filet $46. Both came w vegetables & mashed potato. The King Legs were a generous portion 1lb + and they were so sweet & delicious. Served whole but pre-cut so they were easy to open & eat. My Filet was perfectly cooked (MR) and flavorful. The Brussels sprouts was very tough and if the chef cooked them for 5 min more - this would be a 5 star review. Our waiter Chad was very efficient; paced meal nicely - always checked back & never felt rushed. I recommend this restaurant & will go back next time I visit this area.
google avatar

Shannon M.

Yelp
Spectacular view! We really liked the grilled Caesar salad, crab cakes, salmon chowder, elk medallions, and fish and chips. Very fresh and great flavors. Friendly staff!

Eduardo G.

Yelp
Food was poor. Prices were high. Food took forever to arrive. It probably took them more time to arrange the food, cut the lemon in zig zags and spread spinach as garnish then it did to cook the 2 ounces of food I got in my meal. I wouldn't eat here again. My dish was the AK fish and chips. It was heavily breaded, oily, and only about 5 pieces of fish for $32.

Eileen S.

Yelp
The brunch was overpriced at $29/each The scrambled eggs were like globs of soft balls dry and rubbery, the French toast was made from cheap white bread and were soggy, the oatmeal was and did not pour was instead a big glob, the watermelon and pineapple were not in season. Very disappointing and not worth the money. The quality of food was inferior to a free breakfast at day a Hilton hotel chain. Service was great
google avatar

Andrew S.

Yelp
Read some prior reviews and I'm always confused when people don't account for any context; restaurants in a tiny town in a national park are not going to be fine dining, and will be pricier than normal. Anyway, that said this review is for the bar only. Went early on a saturday night, it was slow, and service was still a little slow but not bad. We each got a cup of the soup special which was mediocre and tiny for $6. My burger and fries were excellent, and the moose tracks ice cream also amazing. Finally, the view at this place is unbeatable, probably better than the nearby Overlook. Worth a visit if in Denali and a solid bar if staying at the hotel.

Matthew N.

Yelp
We were at Alpenglow in September 2022, 48 hours before they closed for the season. I ordered the salmon, and it was not only the best/most fresh piece of fish I ever had, it was also cooked by someone who knew how to prepare it. Through sheer luck, we might have had the best table ever: spectacular views of Denali NP mountains and fall foliage. Thank you to the chef who has mastered his craft and to the restaurant Gods who smiled upon us.
google avatar

Danny H.

Yelp
Gave up and walked out after almost 2 hours without entrees. We ordered soups for appetizers and got those in about an hour. One HOUR to ladle pre-made soup into bowls! Then, the long, wasted wait for our entrees began. The server was friendly and we got along great, but her repeated promises of "the food is coming" got tiresome. At the 1:30 mark, she said they were working on our food and that the manager was going to take 30% off our bill. At now almost 9:00 p.m., I would rather just have food than a discount. At the 1:45 mark, we just asked the waitress for the bill for our soups... which she brought to us. And we paid. I'm thinking now, we should have just walked out. Not once during this did a manager come to offer an apology or to take ownership of the problem. Restaurants can get overwhelmed and screw ups can happen. When it happens, you apologize to the guests and do whatever you can to make it right. This restaurant has poor management. You might luck out and have everything go right for your (overpriced) meal, but why chance it.

Yelp
Nice restaurant at the Grande Denali Lodge! The place is very clean with a great view, as it is set on the top of the mountain. FOOD Fresh bread is always good! Soup bowl $10 - Tasted rather like clam chowder with salmon and halibut bits, capers were slightly salty Halibut $42 - Pretty good dish, but could've been seasoned more. Some citrus would've brightened this dish up more. I could taste the nutmeg in the fish, and there was a good serving of quinoa. Very nice presentation Linguini $28 - Slightly drier and heavier than linguini usually is. The clams were so-so Ceviche $8 - The only seafood present was crab. A bit milder than other ceviches I've had before. Seafood cakes $16 - The fish in the dish were salmon and halibut. Very crispy and thick with a mild tartar aioli Cod cheeks $6 - Very crispy and nicely fried. The meat paired perfectly with the tartar aioli Chocolate mousse eclair $11 - Expensive! Ice cream $3 - It's just ice cream, nothing special for the price SERVICE The staff were all very friendly. Our water never ran out and they checked up on us often. AMBIENCE Clean environment. They have a spectacular view of the mountains/river below. I love the decor here as there is a giant bear at the entrance and a cool entryway wall piece with light up Native American symbols/drawings. Very relaxing and bright. OVERALL The food is pretty good, just overpriced. But what else can you do when you are on the top the mountain and don't want to drive down to find food? I'd come here again, though :)

Mike D.

Yelp
I get that Alaska is expensive. I do. But $40+ for a poor quality and small cut of filet is murder, and to be so inflexible about it to boot. I asked if I could make a substitution and was told no way, but they would be "willing" to prepare a "simpler presentation" for me. Wow, that smacks of condescension. We had 12 folks here. Our tour company boasted this was one of their favorites. I can tell you they are getting kickbacks, because everyone else was smarter -- we were one of the only groups in the restaurant. This place caters to only one aesthetic -- price. You're not going to find affordable food that'll sustain you here. You'll get really pricey stuff that's not great. Kinda like the hotel it's situated in. 1 star is for the breakfast, but only because it was included. It was decent.
google avatar

Linda V.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Denali. We are staying at the Princess lodge but this place was much better. Friendlier staff and beautiful food presentation . You won't be disappointed !

Stuart D.

Yelp
Had dinner at Alpenglow 9/8/21. Food was very good, but a very limited menu and wine list. Service was excellent. If you were not staying at the hotel, you could not dine at the restaurant--due to end of season (trying to prepare for winter closure), and staffing shortages. The staff still on site was outstanding, but the commentary was about being understaffed all season, with many resignations with little or no notice. Views were amazing.

Yelp
Went here because we were dropped off at the Grand Denali Lodge as part of a Holland Cruise Line tour, and had limited options. They try to be upscale (you know, every item has a fancy description) and are priced accordingly. Plus, we ARE at the end of a long supply line. We ordered a Caesar salad with chicken ($18), clam chowder ($10), and local free range coq au vin ($38). Service was prompt, presentation was good, as well as the quantity. The salad and soup were good as were the fingerling potatoes, multicolored carrots and half small onions that came with the chicken. The sauce with the chicken was quite tasty, BUT the chicken must have wandered down to the ocean because it tasted like FISH! In total the meal, with tip, was $85. The only concession from them was they would tell the chef. So my only relief is in writing this review. I can live with ridiculous prices for good food but not bad food. Don't know how they made chicken taste like fish. Save your wallet and some frustration by getting an overpriced sandwich in the bar, instead. They know you have few options but you can minimize the damage.

Yelp
The view is great, the ceviche was great, the ribeye was quite possibly the worst steak I've ever had. I hate being that guy to send things back, but when I told the server that I didn't think it was a ribeye because it was paper thin. She told me it certainly was as she trailed off.

Yelp
This is about what you would expect for a restaurant close to a National Park hotel. If you go with that in mind it will meet your expectations. If you are looking for a fine dining experience, this will disappoint you. However, the place is clean and the service is prompt. Look in town and you will find some additional choices.

Yelp
We ate in the bar area and that menu was reasonable, the regular restaurant in the back was ridiculously expensive. The view is unmatched. Food is passable... But for the view I'd go again. Breathtaking. We got the fish and chips and salmon cakes. I don't like salmon really but seemed obligatory to have it. Both were good. But the view, go for the view, if not for dinner then at least for a drink.

Yelp
We went here for the all you can eat breakfast. The gravy was some kind of disgusting slop. The pancakes were hard as a rock. The eggs and potatoes were cold and nasty. When we called a manager over to cancel my boyfriends meal, due to the "gravy", she didn't offer a discount or anything. In fact, she barely said a word. The server clearly did not know what he was doing, and not a single employee there was very friendly at all. By far, this was one of the worst meals of my entire life!! Skip it!!

Yelp
We came here after our SilverSea cruise and part of our tour of Denali. We couldn't have had a nicer experience. The hotel staff were friendly and the restaurant was outstanding! Both nights we had tables with beautiful views and the wine and food were fantastic thanks to recommendations by our amazing waiter, Christopher Banaszewski. Yes, I get names when I'm treated so wonderfully! It was such a terrific experience-thank you!
