Where to begin... everything you could possibly want away from the crowded shorelines. Very remote, diversified, entertaining, epic views in every direction, such a variety of activities to partake in. Staff is incredible all the way around, plenty of room, food is amazing, the Grizzly bar is perfect for catching up on the days adventures, poker room, incredible deck overlooking the Susitna River basin, variety of rooms to stay in at the lodge, plenty of space for numerous parties in your group. We've been multiple times, completely different experience each and every time, late spring, early fall, middle of winter, there is always something going on. If not, they will find something for you to do. Snowmobiling is absolutely incredible, no limits! Hiking on close and remote trails to remote lakes and mountain ranges, fishing lakes and rivers for a variety of species of fish, panning for gold onsite, dog mushing when available, jeep/atv/SxS tours, wildlife viewing- this list is long, depending on the season of course. AND of course if your lucky enough to spend hours on one of the many decks to be mesmerized by aurora borealis (aka northern lights) just WOW! Couldnt think of a better group of people and place to spend your time. Havent had a chance to actually right a review after all these years, but totally worth it, every single time. Cant go wrong! Cheers!

My husband & I gave up trying to stay warm by our wet campfire & sleeping in the Jeep while out hunting & fishing the Old Denali Highway. Luckily, Alpine Creek had a room available. We got warm & dry & had the most fun at The Grizzly Bar. Highlight of our adventure!|The Lodge is beautiful & the staff really make you feel like family. Comfy beds. Good food. But seriously, the Bondy Family & staff are really special. We’ll be back!

My son and I stayed here a week while hunting spring bear. All I can say is this place is amazing. The Grizzly Bar deck boasts one of the most amazing views of any lodge in Alaska and is a great way to unwind after a long day. The staff are super friendly and helpful with whatever adventure you’re on. Great food, comfortable rooms and beds, and hot coffee and showers. All in the middle of virgin, untouched Alaskan wilderness. I highly recommend the 1-mile hike to the alpine lake that begins just behind the lodge. It is spectacular and provides views of the surrounding area you can’t get from the highway or the lodge. If you’re driving the Denali Highway, Alpine Creek Lodge should be part of your itinerary, whether you stay overnight or just stop in for a meal or a drink, it will enrich your experience.

Literally the best people you will ever meet! Claude, Jennifer and Bob are salt of the earth people! Top Notch operation, and I am so lucky I stayed at this place! Too bad they don’t have 10 stars, because they would have gotten a 20! AMAZING PLACE!!!

I can not rave about these people enough! I stopped here for lunch, traveling the Denali Hwy solo. I made friends, from other guests to the wonderful people working this amazing place. I ran into some car trouble after leaving, just 2 miles down the road. I was so well cared for by these people that my heart almost burst. I ended up having dinner & breakfast here as well. And was put up with my pup in the hunters cabin for the night. I will never ever forget Annie, Collin, Liam, the talented cook & gracious family who owns the place. This is a not to be missed stop on the Denali Hwy & I cannot wait to return asap with anyone & everyone. This is “home”, filled with an instant family. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

My husband and I are on a 6 month road trip (not in an RV) and we have been in a variety of accommodations. We knew that when staying along the desolate Denali Highway that there were few lodging choices and we stayed 2 nights. We chose Alpine Creek Lodge and it was PERFECT. It is basic - a room with a comfortable bed and a shared bath down the hall (never had to wait and everyone was courteous to keep it clean). Both dinner & breakfast was included and we never walked away hungry. But the people that work here - they really make the place so special. We spent both evenings in the on-site Grizzly Bar chatting with Claude the owner, Russ the bartender, a few workers as they came in and out as well as other guests. So welcoming and just delightful. The views at this place are as good or better than you can imagine. Chrissy runs her cafe and she was just a joy to chat with. Highly recommend. (we did stop at one of the other lodging options along the road for a snack - it didn't compare).

Great experience. When we originally booked the room we thought we were closer to Denali which originally was disappointing but after driving about 20 miles up the road the views Were amazing and completely worth staying further away in order to see how beautiful it was. The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Chrissy was extremely helpful and her food was stellar. Definitely worth the trip

This place was the highlight of our recent trip touring Alaska. It was amazing having the right amount of comfort, while being so remote. And tbh I think hanging out in the bar area, playing poker, was more fun than all the adventuring. And that's a high bar!

Yelp
I first came upon the Alpine Creek Lodge last year when I drove the Denali Highway. I was told it was a must visit lodge that is open year round. The owners mentioned a highway cleanup that they do the first weekend of June every year and so here I am! The lodge is spacious and the food is good. Great company!

Yelp
This is the second time I have stayed at the lodge and can't wait to go back. The rooms are comfy, the staff are friendly, the views can't be beat, and the food is delicious. They make you feel like you are part of the family so much that I felt guilty not helping with the dishes after the meals. This will be a destination, not just a stop on the way.

Yelp
Alpine Creek Lodge has been one of my favorite places to stay since the lodge opened in 2009. I make at least one trip a year there and have been there in the summer, the fall, and the winter. The owners, Claude and Jennifer and their son Bob, are awesome, the staff is friendly, the views are incredible and the food is good. When I have visitors to Alaska, this is one of the places where I take them to for a real taste of Alaska. I just love this place!

Yelp
Our third trip to Alpine Creek Lodge, our main goal was to see the Northern Lights. Jennifer picked us up in Cantwell with a jeep equipped with 'Tracks" for the 65 mile ride to the lodge, only had to knock down one small snow drift to get in. The Lodge provided us with additional gear to stay nice and warm. During our stay we took Snow Machines out for a tour, I was able to go Ice Fishing & Snowshoe Hair Hunting. We also had a group of "All Ladies" dog sled teams show up while we were there. We met Newton Marshall, the Jamaican Dog Sled Guy who was working at the lodge, "Howdy Mon". The highlight of our trip was the 80 mile round trip to the Ice Cave in the Maclaren River Glacier, next to the day our daughter was born, this may have been the most fantastic thing I've ever seen. Rock and dirt suspended overhead in the ice, they say it melts until it caves in and then the process starts all over again. Below they ask about WiFi, it is available in the main lodge area, but can be spotty in other areas of the building. It may have been too cloudy for the lights during our stay, but the Ice Cave more than made up for that and no Lights only means another trip in the future for us! Looking forward to our next trip to Alpine Creek Lodge.
