Al's Hot Chicken

I was impressed when I was told that there would be a wait because my order would be cooked fresh. I'm good knowing that my food wasn't sitting under a heat lamp for 20 minutes before I walked in the door. I ordered the heat level just under the hottest, but it was mild (according to my standards). So if you can't handle spicy foods, don't let the name scare you off. It's good chicken either way. The staff is great and the dining room is clean. And it won't break the bank. I'll be back to try the hottest level.

(2 just to not be too rude) I understand that they (AL & Them) were banking on having the success that #daveshotchicken does, but I tried ALs because ive had Dave's in multiple states and this knockoff is not worthy if you're looking for flavor or looking for more than 2 pickles on your sandwich! The chicken is retirement home bland. The batter doesn't stay on the bird and the ranch tastes like mayo with garlic. (Fries: good but I did not finish the bird) Opening a chicken place in this area of town you need support and I hope you win! I will not return due to the annoyed energy of the 1 lady that works too hard by herself. Cheers

I like this place — the food is amazing. However, management really needs at least two workers per shift. The cashier was taking orders and making the food at the same time. It took about 15 minutes just for my order to be taken, and there was no one in front of me because the cashier was busy cooking someone else’s order. For the prices they charge, plus $1.00 for an extra sauce (which is pretty small) and the fact that combos don’t include a drink, it’s definitely not okay and not good customer service.

Hot chicken review! Alright, I came here, got a chicken sandwich slider with medium spice, and the Al's loaded fries also medium spice. Added side of Al's white sauce, Al's spicy sauce, and even the honey sauce to give them a try. Starting with the chicken slider, chicken tender was just ok. The breading wasn't exaggerated, but I didn't taste any spiciness or any notable flavor. Coleslaw was neither sweet, vinegary, or creamy, mostly dry, The bread is white bread, which is plain was also dry, no sauce, or even mayo added. It compared as if I was biting into sand paper. added some of the white and hot sauce, but it's still hard to get any enticing flavor. Moving on to the Al's loaded fries, the chicken ratio was way off, not worth the price, fries are well seasoned, coleslaw is just there but no significant flavor, sauce has no real distinguished flavor, cheese is the one thing that stood out the most when I got a fork full. To be honest, I'm generous with the 3 star review here. Giving that 3rd star due to the friendly greet at the door, and the chef gave me a discount flyer on my next visit, but I'm doubting I will be back. maybe the rest of the menu may enhance the review 🤔🤷‍♂️

Amazing!!! My friend and I came here and it was such good service and food! Beatrice is amazing and wonderful, she was so sweet and gave us amazing options to choose from! All the food was so delicious, the mild sandwich was so good, and we had the waffle too!! Honestly what made the experience 10x better was the service, would love to go again!

Great Halal Food. I came here with my husband. We ordered the Half Chicken with Fries for takeout but decided to eat in the restaurant. It was a nice quite place. The food was freshly out of the fryer and fried perfectly. The chicken was juicy and seasoned very well. The service was also excellent, Beatriz was the worker who attended us and she was very welcoming and warm which was part of the reason we decided to eat inside the establishment rather than taking it home. Once seated she came to our table and left condiments, napkin's and cups for water however she kindly told us that we were free to try any of the other beverages in case we wanted. The service was excellent ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The food was fresh, tender and crispy ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We will definitely come back and try the other items on the menu.

First time trying this place out. The food was good The lady that was working was all alone and doing her best to still provide great customer service I highly recommend this place The prices here aren’t bad either Give them a try Five stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The fries, were frying. The sauce, was saucing. The chicken... chickenwanging! This aint fast food, your gonna have to wait for your meal that they cook fresh, and they let you know that. You want some chicken, Al's got you hot.

This was my first time visiting this location, and I was warmly welcomed by Beatrice. She was incredibly patient and offered helpful suggestions, which I really appreciated as a first-timer. Her service was sweet, quick, and thoughtful, even taking the time to apologize for a slight delay (which I totally understood, having been in her shoes before). Also- she was the only one working which..what a champ! I ordered the Hot Tenders with fries, and they were pretty good! The Nashville sauce had a nice kick without being too overpowering. The other sauces were decent, though I personally prefer Cane's sauce. P.S "Please send her some reinforcements, it suck's to be the only person working" or give her a fat raise, she deserves it

Al's Hot Chicken is conveniently located in Hawthorne in a small shopping center not far from SpaceX and other shopping centers. The location has adequate parking, and the inside area is good enough to sit and eat at the location. There weren't many people in line, and it took about 20 minutes for the food. Customer service was great, but the reason I will not return and gave low stars is because the oil was extremely old, which was evident in how the food tasted--and you could probably tell by the look of the chicken. I will not return to this establishment and suggest the oil be changed sooner than the routine you currently have set.

Me and my brother came to dine in, got the loaded chicken mac n cheese fries. Food was so good! Cooked and seasoned to perfection. Staff was friendly and phenomenal service! We felt at home eating here. Would recommend for the family and friends.

Me and my husband wanted a chicken sandwich. I have never tried it and he did a long time ago. Long story short don't waste your time. Was super mediocre a lil less than actually. My husband opens his container and boom a baby roach. We figured it was from the containers because ain't no way he was in the food it was too hot. We had them make us fresh food and regretted it instantly. Go anywhere but here!!!!

Worst place ever! Food was not even tasty as I thought it would. I order my food ahead online for pick up. I got there 6 mins earlier than pick up time and the lady that was there is very rude. No customer service manner at all and I asked for a fries well done but instead it looks like it has anemia so pale and soggy nothing so far from what i expected it to be for a seasoned fries. Anyway not going back to this place anymore and I would not recommend for anyone at all

Service 8/10 Taste 6.5/10 Freshness 9/10 I placed a to go order on phone. Was ready in 15 mins, very easy to pick it up. The person there asked me to try the drinks for free and was very polite and helpful. I asked for an interview extra slider almost while they were closing but they got that in. But the spice for hot and extra hot did not really hit that much in my opinion compared to the one in Venice Blvd. But I'll visit again because of the service, price, and the staff.

Not much on variety, they don't really separate themselves from Dave's or other Hot Chicky places. But that's not important as much as the fact that they accept EBT, They have good service. But the food made me a tad sick so I'm taking off a star. I didn't get a picture but I got the memory.

Wanted to try this new chicken spot in town. Beatriz (the cashier) recommended half a chicken, I subbed it for leg and thigh. Oh my... this was delicious , saying juicy would be an understatement. I got it "x hot" which was spicy but not unbearable . It's halal or kosher for the people who prefer it. It's like Dave's hot chicken, but a better version of it. If you like hot chicken, it's worth checking this spot out

I'm so disappointed! Today we had our usual order of Combo #2 with loaded Mac and cheese and we decided to try the tiramisu. We ordered to go and didn't realize that we didn't get our dessert until we got home. Unfortunately, the phone number isn't working and we can't correct the issue. We're really disappointed.

I walk in its few people waiting for food it's 840 I was told they were closed I'm not sure how the think shit work but being open until 9 mean your open until 9 but I guess she has meth to smoke I see why this place is always empty I bet in the middle of the day that's what yall tell people huh? OMG.... How disappointed am I?!?! I ordered 3 chicken sandwich combos. They were roughly $17 each with a drink. The coleslaw was musky wilted and watery. I so glad I asked for it to be put on the side! The "white sauce " tastes like it was made from an old mayonnaise container that needed to be refrigerated but they didn't, so it had an old funky taste! The catsup was warm with a tin can taste. The fountain drinks were flat! Ordered the chicken mild, there was NO TASTE, NO SEASONING AT ALLLLLL!!!!! The sandwich was made with 2 lukewarm questionable tenders! Cooked in old nasty oil!!!! It smelled like fried fish I paid over $50 for this GARBAGE If i could've given 0 stars I would have! Disgusting to say the least! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY OR EFFORT! I'M TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED FRIES WERE SOGGY BARELY COOKED TASTED LIKE FREEZER! SERVICE WAS RUSHED, ISAT IN MY TRUCK PHONE ORDER WAS PLACED, THE LADY SAID 12 MINUTES, I WAITED 15 WHEN I WALKED IN SHE JUST STARTED THE ORDER! THE PLACE LOOKED CLEAN BUT SMELLED STALE!

I went here for the first time. I ordered a chicken sandwich ,When I took my first bite I felt something wasn't right, I ate hate half of it because I was hungry.It tasted like Nashville powder with no seasoning in it , my stomach started hurting 15 minutes after I ate it. The meat tasted a little old, or maybe freezer burnt. I know something was wrong with that chicken. I will never go back. I drove to another place to get 2 tacos, and it was nasty. Spent almost $40 for nothing.

Beatrice has always been helpful, friendly and goes above and beyond to create the most respectful atmospheric environment in this establishment. I appreciate her customer service and hard work! Way to go Beatrice, you're awesome!

Chicken was ok a little bland tbh but juicy and cooked perfectly. I feel like $20 for 3 tenders and fries and a drink was a little expensive (but what isn't these days).. the kicker is having to pay extra for a single dipping sauce i feel like they couldve included at least one for free and then maybe charge for additional Now the bad.. pistachio "pudding" was terrible. I dont like to waste food even when i dont care for it, but this went in the trash. Pudding shouldn't hold its shape out of the container its in, let alone should one be able to pick it up in your fingers in one piece. It tasted like a really firm milk jello with a faint rose water flavor and not even sweet. One the bright side, the store was spotless drinks were good and service from lady working the register was great!

The manager contacted me the day after the review and refunded my order. I do appreciate that, but I sure hope restaurants would offer this level of service before having to resort to yelp reviews.

The food was honestly the worst chicken I've ever had. I genuinely don't know why people are saying this is a good place to eat. You're better off eating at the subway next door. The service was good for a place that only has one person working. She was cool though.

Been wanting to check out this place and finally decided to try them out. I wasn't sure about their spice level, so i went for medium when i ordered the chicken sandwich and while it wasn't bad, its wasn't something to write home about. I also tried their fried chicken and that was just okay too. if i have the taste for a great chicken sandwich, it won't be the first place I will go to because for the price they charge, I can get better. However for convivences (live close by), its a place I will go to again.

Food: Chicken Sandwich - I ordered Mild, and it was not spicy at all, keep in mind I cannot handle spicy food, so if I can handle it, so can you! The chicken is not very flavorful and it is not a crunchy fried chicken, it's more soft and lightly seasoned. They went light on the coleslaw, so wish there was more to add crunch. I would rate this 3/5 since I really look for a crunchy fried chicken. Fries - crinkle cut fries with Cajun seasoning, pretty good. Rate this a 4/5 since they were well seasoned and tasted great when dipped in the spicy sauce. Waffle - this is basically the packaged waffle you get in public elementary school with some powdered sugar sprinkled on top and a creamy stick of butter on top. Even the maple syrup is like the one from school. Rate this a 3/5 since it's nothing special but it is soft and sweet and helps balance out the spicy sauce. Sauce - really has a kick! Made me wince a little when eating this but the sandwich desperately needed this since the mild sandwich was bland on its own. Service - really nice workers that were sweet to us when we ordered. They brought our food to our table and a basket with a napkins. Ambiance - no AC so it was humid inside the store. Because of this, it's easy for flys to go inside, I had to swat a fly away while I ate inside. Lots of room for seating inside.

Stoped here for lunch with my family food was really good. The cashier was not that friendly at all. First off we asked for water cupsand he said there was no water cups and we had to pay for drinks ok no worries we all had our water bottles in the car. Then he said each dipping sauce was money like the combo we just paid 17 dollars for came with no sauce??? So I was like ok can we get ketchup and he says it cost money for ketchup? Food is good service sucks no water cup and ketchup is money we paid 50 bucks for 3 meals yea we will not be back Dave's gives free sauce and ketchup with honey.

The service here is out of this world! For some place you'd assume is "fast food" they sure don't treat it that way. The server gave me a little taster of the Mac and cheese because I hadn't ordered it, she also came up to me as I was eating and dropped off all of their sauces to try. My favorite was the white sauce and the honey sauce. I ordered the medium tenders and they definitely had a kick to it. I will definitely have to go back and try a sandwicu. Oh and definitely need to try their banana pudding too. The art on the walls inside is really cool and they play some good music too.

The lady that works there does it all cooks, takes orders by phone and walk ins. She's very nice and patient. I really enjoyed the food. I've had the chicken sandwich, fries and tenders. I've had the extremely hot flavor and yes indeed it's hot but I really enjoy it. I tried the la's hottest tender and ooooh weee it's too hot for me but I'm glad I tried it. The restaurant is clean and it's relaxing in there with the music. I've visited twice and would go again and recommend.

So GOOD! Second location is JUST as good as the original location on Venice. Now we can come more often as the second location is closer to us. Beatriz, the employee, working there was also very attentive and thoughtful. Plus... it's Halal :)

My mild chicken sandwich and fries were good and tasteful and made fresh to order Hot! Wasn't sure if I would like the place but I was surprised I really liked it!

heads up the food does not look like the picture. my chicken was so dry and they put 1 pickle on each slider. also the bun was just straight up burnt and stale. save yourself the money and go to dave's hot chicken.

Ended up at this place on my way to a meeting. Got the basic combo #1 mild, $15.50. The price to the portion was good. Sandwich was seasoned nicely and tasted good. Fries come seasoned, and the portion was good size. Seasoning can be too salty for some, but I was fine with it. Meal comes with your choice of separate house, I went with the hot. It was like a creamy Chipotle. That was good dipping for the fries but was not filled to the top. This was not an error. I noticed all the sauces were only half full. If they were free, maybe I could understand that. Additional sauce was 50 cents. I just don't know why they don't give the customer a full sauce container?? The place was clean with nice themed mural style artwork. Staff not overly friendly, but they get the job done. Convenient strip mall location with easy parking. Overall, the place was a good lunch stop. Minus one star because of the sauce portion, this was an obvious attempt to cut costs.

The absolute best place to eat in the area. Clean establishment, EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE ( especially the lady I can't remember her name) , food is amazing and if you get a drink get the fruit punch it's delicious. Als loaded fries is 100% , 10/10 recommend.

Came here recently sandwhich is average nothing to to rave about, but the dessert i got the pudding one was expired i can tell how it smelled and tasted. It was like sour milk and smelled like cheese! You guys should really put a date of when it's made. The register is the one cooking and im not even sure if she changed her gloves?

This was my first time having their food and it is good! I placed my order online; it was quick and easy. They were true to their wait time. When I arrived, the place was nice and clean. I was greeted with a smile. The cashier was with another customer, but she politely said she would be right with me. After attending the customer before me, she asked in a friendly manner what I would like. I told her I was there to pickup an online order. She quickly gave me my food and thanked me. I bought their loaded fries, the three strip combo for my sister, and macaroni and cheese for the both of us. It was absolutely delicious! You definitely get what you pay for! I will definitely be getting food here again! Oh, and the staff is bilingual, which is awesome!

My favorite Hot Chicken spot! The employees are all super nice and the chicken and waffles are insanely good! The seasoning always got a really nice flavor to it. I would 10/10 recommend.

I have seen some bad reviews, but I'm not sure what they ate. I thought it was very good. I came upon it by accident because the restaurant I wanted next door closed. I thought let's try it and I enjoyed it. The service was great, and the food was good. It is a little bit pricey, but I expect that for good food. I think you guys are doing a great job. Keep doing what you're doing, and I'll be back. I'm a shuttle driver from the High Desert in the Victorville area; when I drop off at LAX, I will be back. Thank you!

The chicken was hot not cold and great tasting. The fries were also excellent. The chicken was freshly cooked, and the fries were hot not cold and not salty. There waiting was short considering time for chicken to cook to perfection. I mentioned no salt on fries before cooking. Fries came out perfect. Thanks for great chicken in the area !

Chicken was really soggy and coleslaw tasted awful. White sauce does not go with a Nashville style sandwich. They also forgot to add a TOP bun for my slider. Nothing special about the fries. Lady at counter was nice. Very spacious area. Recommend Dave's Hot Chicken instead!!

Want a honest review?...save your time & money and go to somewhere else...the food is bland, the chicken tenders weren't crispy actually soggy and the sauces are crappy..the fries I ordered seemed like they were old and refried...I'd say just go to Dave's hot or wing ferno
