Easter is rapidly approaching. Leg of Lamb is the obvious meat choice but the Boss thinks New Zealand is too overbearing in taste. Al's provides an excellent alternative: American lamb from Wisconsin!! You cannot beat Al's Meat market.

One of my girlfriends discovered this shop and so we decided to try it out. I got some filets since my hubby and mine anniversary was coming up and it was better than restaurants I’ve eaten at! Honestly one of the best shops I’ve ever been to! Highly recommend!!

Called and ordered Meatballs and Marinara sauce for a company party, Not only was everything fresh and delicious! He explained how to best cook them and the quality ingredients that were used. Definitely will purchase again for the business and personal. Thank you guys for making our employees happy with your food!

Great locally owned shop. A group of us Canadians were in town for a golf trip. Had looked around to find some pasture raised, grain finished beef, which is generally well marbled. We did not have much luck until we met Al. I wanted rib eyes cut from the chuck end. Many butcher shop staff don’t even know what you are talking about. Al had the steaks ready as promised, and the quality was extremely good. Grilled them tonight, and they were flavorful and super tender. They were not even Prime! If you are looking for an excellent grain finished cut of beef, you need not look any further. Price was on point for this quality as well. Thanks Al. We will be back.

Lots of great selections of various meats, makes sausages and meatballs. They will order holiday meats like ham and roasts too.

This is the first place I come to when I get down to Arizona. The staff is amazing. Smiling, helpful people. And you can't go wrong with anything that you choose. My favorites are the bratwurst and the boneless, skin on chicken breast. Trust me when I say that these are the best brats on the planet.

Al has the best meat around. The burger is just like back home in ohio, actually it's better than ohio. Wouldn't buy my meat any where else.

Small business ownership at its best. I decided to treat myself to a filet mignon and Al's immediately came to mind. I know several people who highly recommend Al's so I stopped in a couple weeks ago to peruse their meat options and prices. They have nearly everything you would want from homemade sausages, fillets, rib roast, rib racks, chicken, pork, chops, anything you could want or need. Even more than most supermarkets. Today I purchased a fillet mignon and asked for it to be butterflied. It was done perfectly. I took it home, brought it to room temperature and put it on the grill. Oh my gosh. it was so tender I could cut it with a butter knife. The prices were on the pricey side but totally worth it. Considering that this is a small private owned business I am more than happy to patronize a business where fresh meats are fresh with NO added anything.

Only stopped in once and just couldn't afford the cost , it I'm sure quality is great by the looks of the meats

Love the people there. Al is awesome and Becca is a delight. Very caring people. And the food is so tasty. Chicken is our favorite. Cold cuts are great.

We found this gem on YELP ! From the minute we walked thru the door, we were greeted and when we told her that we had never been inferred, she told us all about their premise of the beef , pork and chicken they sell. We purchased some of their home made sausage, and sliced beef for sandwiches, fresh motz, and Italian packaged pasta that I actually went in to buy. We will return again, unfortunately we are just here another month, but if I lived here they would have all my business especially buying my prime rib for the holidays. Wonderful experience !!

Sent my uncle here to pick up some ham hocks. He came home with smoked shank but he's so happy with it. I called before he went to make sure they had some & they super nice lady who answered the phone was personable & fun. My uncle came back with a very generous shank that had tons of meat on it. He had them cut it in two pieces. This is definitely somewhere we will be coming back to.

Wow, very small but great looking meat and poultry. Prices are extremely high but it's Iowa Beef and a friend of mine bought some tenderloins and said they were worth every penny. Worth a try at least once, right?

This was our first butcher shop experience and my goodness, I don't think we will buy our meat anywhere else! Everything was so fresh and came out absolutely perfect. You really have to get the potato salad as well, they gave us a small sample and I wanted to buy the whole supply lol. Also the personalization was awesome... they made us feel like we had known them for years! I highly recommend them!

seem a little pricer than Bobs. good product, I stop going to Al's. I don't really care to listen to people's opinions on politics including one of the ladies that works there. facts are like Kryptonite to trump supporter. I respect their constitutional right but I don't go in there to listen to their views. The owners wife that tragically passed was a very nice lady.

i just enjoy a meat market ( privately owned) the meat was extremely good. such great business people. i haven't been there because of death in family and moved from sun city, to glendale.

Great people, great meats and a high level of professionalism. The rib eye had marble in between the meat, the brats were delicious, his homemade pasta's tasted better than franchise brands and I will eat the breakfast links tomorrow.

Bought some skinny Italian sausage and sweet Italian sausage and cooked it that same day. It was horrible. I think the meat was bad or they did something terribly wrong in the making of it. It was inedible. Had to throw it all out.

You want quality meats and Italian deli choices , Al can see to your satisfaction. He offers quality steaks chops burgers beef hot dogs as well as store made chicken kiev and pork products! We've been very pleased and refuse to play meat market roulette with the chain stores anymore! Check his hours before you go - Wed thru Saturday currently!

I was told that Al's Meat Market had the best bacon burgers in the valley so I checked them out on Yelp. Most of the reviews were glowing but one stood out. That review noted the employees weren't wearing face coverings. The review was a couple months old and to give them the benefit of doubt I called the store. I told the person answering that I'd seen a review on Yelp that said employees weren't wearing face masks and asked if their policy had changed and if they were now wearing them. I was told all employees were now wearing masks, so I told them I'd be over soon to make several purchases. Unfortunately, when I went into the store no one was wearing a mask, employees or customers. I will not patronize a business that first lies to me nor one that has such little regard for it's customers safety and health.

We were just in Al's Meat Market to place an order. There was a sign on the door you must wear a mask. We did- They did not!! I called to cancel the order & told Al how disappointed we were & he said he was sorry we felt this way. He must not be too sorry because there are several other reviews on here telling the same story. They don't intend on wearing a mask so that's the last time we go there.

If you are looking for a quality meat, look no further than Al's. He is also one of the most conscientious butchers out there. One thing I cannot stand is a lot of gristle in my hamburger and Al takes the time to trim the fat and gristle eliminating most of the nerdles as I call them. lol I really like the way he trims the chuck roast as well with cuts that are almost pure meat, Very little fat. Al and crew are good people!!

This is the second time I have driven to the shop and it was closed on days that it was supposed to be open. I even called before I drove over because of how far it is and no mention. I don't care how good The meat is, I'm not going to waste my time on this place anymore.

Al's has good quality meat and would have a higher rating but the prices are just way to high. Bob's has just as good quality meat and prices are much lower.

I've been to and purchased many products from Al's Meat Market and believe them to be the best in the valley. The top quality, corn fed, Iowa meats are fantastic! I have purchased bone-in prime rib roast, bone-in rib eye steaks, porterhouse steaks, beef short ribs and so much more from them and it has all been fantastic. Just this morning I made their breakfast sausage links; just amazing. The service is also the best in the valley. If they don't carry what you need, just ask and they will have it for you in no time! I highly recommend Al's Meat Market!

We have lived in Arizona for five years, and we always buy our meats from Al's Meat Market in Sun City. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. We recently returned to Arizona from Massachusetts, and we needed to restock our freezer. My wife called in a large order, and she was told it would be ready at 11:30. When she walked in, she was appalled to see that neither the owner nor his wife were wearing masks. In addition, there were customers not wearing masks. We will be taking our business elsewhere and never intend to go back. They completely disregard the health of their customers in the middle of a pandemic. Very disappointing.

Al is awesome. Friendly, great convo, educated me on some cooking techniques. And then there is the meat. Phenomenal meats. I like to smoke a nice pork shoulder. He's got some extremely tasty pig in there!

Tiny. A deli case and a meat case. Both filled with quality products. Staff is quick, on-the-ball and friendly. Come with an idea, not a plan. Buy what looks best, or what you can afford. It's not cheap - quality never is. There are a few dry good items like pasta - but if you are looking for that kind of stuff, head to Romanelli's...don't come here. Come here for the meat. They specialize in corn-fed Iowa beef. If you are looking for grass-fed...I don't think these are the droids you are looking for, but they might be able to order it? What I DO know: is that the ribeye I had from here yesterday was AWESOME (so well marbled). Melted in my mouth. The hot dogs and sausages looked mighty tasty - but that's for another day...

Hi - this is a wonderful, old-fashioned meat market. Great food. the Yelp posting, is, however not correct in regards to the store hours. The store is only open Wednesday through Saturday, and their own web site has it right. I was just there and can verify they are NOT open Tuesdays... So, Yelp for once is not correct!

I've been living on this side of town for over 4 years and have driven by the "Iowa beef" sign almost daily when I finally wised up and stopped in this amazing place. Why oh why did it take me so long!? Al's is a small butcher shop but they carry everything you could ever dream of in regards to meat. Chicken, beef, pork, they even have homemade sauce and meatballs! It's a carnivores fantasy. They grind their own beef right there and it's out of this world! 85/15 and just the most delicious flavor (you can request the fat ratio you'd prefer if this isn't to your liking). The beef is antibiotic free and hormone free too! Chicken is free range, they have lamb and veal upon request too! Not to mention deli selection, and trays too! Whoa, overload here. If you're looking for a great butcher and shop and want to know where your meat is coming from this is the place for you. Believe me, you won't be disappointed. Mmm Mmm mmmmmmmm.

I posted a review a couple days ago but it is not on here for some reason so I will post it again. We have lived in Arizona for 6 years. We have been buying our meats at Al's. But early in the pandemic we went there & were disappointed that no one in the store was wearing masks correctly. They had them on below their nose or around their neck. I didn't feel comfortable so have not gone back till a couple days ago. There was a sign on the door must wear masks but no one in there had a mask at all. Now during the height of the pandemic they didn't even have one around their necks etc. I called the store when I got home to complain and Al said he was sorry I felt that way. Apparently he has no intention on wearing masks because I see other reviews on here with the same remarks.

My mom won't buy meat from anywhere else. And I'm thankful for that. Everything that she buys there is fresh and yummy. The folks there are always delightful and willing to help you with recipes. I would highly recommend Al's for your meat.

No more meat from the grocery store! We just grilled, quite honestly...the best chicken we have ever had! We normally do not get bone in chicken but this is the only chicken we will buy now. I highly recommend the cilantro salsa too. So good!

Always fresh meet with an excellent flavor. Not sure how to prepare it, Just ask. The owners and their service are awesome!

I moved to the Valley last year from Chicago where every neighborhood has a great and respected butcher. I left my first meeting with Al highly impressed with him as a person. Additionally, the quality and variety of his meats would make any Chicago neighborhood happy. I'm glad we have his services here in the Valley!

Al's was completely surprisingly in a delightful way. All of the people I encountered were helpful, knowledgable and treated me like family. The meat was spectacular. I purchased a filet mignon, meatballs, hamburger patties and meatloaf. I haven't tried the meatballs, but the rest were far superior to anything I've had from any other butcher in this area. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

I ordered a pork butt to make tacos for a large party and I can tell you that the meat to fat ratio was off the charts (in a good way). I'm outraged at what I spend in the grocery stores for meat I actually don't get. Also, the last time I bought meat in the grocery store I ask to have it cut up and the butcher didn't want to give me the time of day. When I ordered my meat from Al's; Trudy treated me like a princess. Wow, I felt special and the meat tasted so good that my guests hovered over it. I have never tasted meat like that before. I'm so happy I found this place. Their Italian meats are awesome too. I have never purchased anything that I didn't like. My only regret is that they don't have a place on their web site where their customers can exchange recipes. I would love to share mine. We just returned from another fun shopping 'trip' to Al's Meat Market. Loaded up on several fresh cut meats and delicious sausages at fair market prices. Everything is always so fresh and nutritious; no preservatives. The owner Al is always there is answer our many questions and provide excellent recommendations on selection and preparation. We know what we're getting here vice a big box grocery store. The shop is easy to get to and has plenty of free store-front parking. We'll be back again and again. Just stopped in at Al's after a few years living away from the West Valley. It's the same as before . . . excellent! They are closed SUN-MON-TUE, but plan ahead (it's a "Mom and Pop" kinda place and they deserve time off too). I purchased some awesome steaks that melted in our mouths and some chicken breasts that were downright delicious! I also picked up a couple of frozen meat loafs for the freezer. Best meat loaf hands down. What can I say? I really missed Al's. Nothing's changed. I'll be back for sure.

By far my fav place! Al and Trudy offer exceptional customer service and product. I was never a huge meat eater but i must say when you have the best its hard to turn away.They always offer cooking tips and techniques, which are greatly appreciated! The stuffed peppers are a must when you visit! My husband and I try to get up here every few weeks, sometimes just because we enjoy the two owners so much!

Friendly & knowledgable. Delicious beef, fresh housemade sausages, bone-in double cut pork chops, the list goes on and on. Try the bacon burgers! Everything is delicious and Al and Trudy are exceptional hosts to their shop. It's obvious they take pride in what they sell and in making customers happy. Open four days a week. Well worth the trip from anywhere in the valley.

I have been buying meats and other items, like ravioli from Chicago, from Al and Trudy for three years now. The quality has always been excellent and prices are reasonable compared to AJ's. If you are from the Midwest, you'll find comfort in knowing most of the meats are purchased from farms there. It's so nice to shop where you are greeted by name each time you walk in the door by friendly faces who are happy to see you. I also like calling ahead to place my order on occasion. Check out Al's Meat Market...you won't be disappointed!

The owners, Al and Trudy and their staff don't just sell the meat, they're knowledgeable about all the cooking techniques as well. Their customer service is exceptional and the meat is very high quality. We really enjoy the rib eye and the porterhouse. Though everything is quite good. They also have hard to find food items from Itsly. Shop here, you won't regret it.
