Yelp
4 stars for Al's! This neighborhood tavern has been around for decades and looks it. I don't think anything has changed in that time either. If you like fancy, this ain't the place. You'll find a mixture of working stiffs, retirees, local legends and guys like me that can't figure out what group they belong to, gathered there at all hours. They have only one type of beer on tap but nobody complains 'cause its cheap, big, and its cold. The bottles (9 different brands) sit in ice 'til you're ready. They have three types of wine of course, red or white or whatever. The menu is limited and simple but is a perfect match for the drinks and conversation. The burgers are excellent and the chili dogs are what you'd expect. If you like a place with entertainment Al's will surprise you on special nights, with bands playing everything from rock to big band and jazz. And on the nights that no one is scheduled, you have Trish, a very hard act to follow. So... There it is. Al's Place.
