"In the heart of East Village, one of Calgary’s most dynamic neighborhoods, this Alt Hotel is built for guests who move between work and downtime with ease. Rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows and clean lines, with views across the Bow River and the city skyline. The public spaces are open and adaptable, designed for coffee, meetings, or time to yourself, while the design adds texture without pretense. The vibe is focused but relaxed, and the location puts you within steps of galleries, restaurants, riverfront paths, and some of the city’s best cultural spaces." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel is in a great location and restaurants and shopping are within walking distance away. The property itself has got that boutique vibes. It was very evident throughout - the lobby, the hallways and the room itself. The room was very moody, albeit on the small side. I loved that you can control everything by the bedside or from the control panel by the door. The bathroom was very well-appointed and nicely decorated and had some quality bath amenities. The floors always get flooded after each shower. That and not having a mini fridge in the room were the only issues. I had to throw away some take outs that I could have eaten for a few more meals. Such a waste. I’m only giving a 5* rating because of the room attendant/housekeping. She was the most welcoming and friendliest staff I’ve encountered throughout my 3 night stay (I felt bad for not remembering her name but maybe Kathza???). I had to ask for a couple of things from the front desk and they couldn’t provide them but this nice lady had them ready in my room on the 2nd day. It was a pleasant stay considering this was my very first stay in this hotel chain.

An amazing hotel. Lovely walks along the river. 29 minutes to walk to the tower.|Hotel is very clean, great rooms and the staff are so helpful! Special mention of Mia who absolutely made our stay great. She gave us so much help and fantastic suggestions for food and activities. A star! |Great food places directly across the road. Are felt very safe and we will definitely return!

We are glad with our stay in the hotel! We arrived Calgary and I didn't feel well, so I was worried we might not get a room. However, the front desk lady helped us with early check-in without us requesting. We booked a corner room that is more spacious. The extra hallway gave more room for our luggages. The room is clean and modern. There is a central panel where you can control pretty much everything in the room. The hotel is in a very convenient location, just steps away from the riverside. Many attractions are within walking distance. It has three restaurants downstairs too. Will stay again next time!

We stayed here for two nights over the long weekend sleeping off the jet lag before we travelled on to Banff and Jasper. We were looking for something comfortable in a reasonably central and a good rate. I think I was given this hotel as a recommendation in a TA forum question, and found the rate to be good for the apparent standard of accommodation. The hotel is a short Uber ride from the airport and is situated on the river, about a 20 minute walk from the Calgary Tower. Our room was quite small, but the standard was good. Everything was in a good state of repair, and everything worked the way it should. The room had a nespresso machine, and a kettle was also delivered to our room on request so we could also have tea. The area is safe enough. There are a lot of homeless people resident along the river, under the bridges, but we found the walk along the river quite safe. There were plenty of people jogging, walking their dogs and cycling, and the homeless people, whilst obviously having their own private problems, were not begging or intimidating in any way. So don't let that put you off. If I were to stay here again, the one thing I would do is to not add breakfast to the bill. Breakfast can be added at a cost of 20 CAD pp, taken at the ajoining cafe, but on reflection this didn't seem to offer any advantage by way of a discount. All it did was to restrict your choices to the hotel breakfast menu (which you could order at a similar price anyway on a walk in). All in all, however, if we were to visit Calgary again, we'd stay here again

Google
10/10 for this hotel. Clean, contemporary, thoughtfully designed and excellent location. Special shoutout to Vadym for making our stay super accommodating. He went above and beyond to assist with our packages and random requests we approached him for a work event we were planning in Calgary. Great food building across the street from the hotel in the Simmons building - it was our go-to spot for coffee, breakfast sandwiches and dinner all in one convenient location.

Attitude of reception staff was bad. Neat hotel with good lounge & diner. Central location & easy walking distance to city center. We booked the hotel as a group 4 rooms. We had requested for additional bed in one room to sleep three & this was confirmed whilst booking. This booking was done by my brother in Calgary. However, on arrival, the check in was smooth & when we asked for the additional bed, the lady said that it cannot be done due to lack of space & fire safety regulations. I told her that I understand all that & asked her for options. She went to check with her manager & the gentleman came out with a "Policeman like face & talk" saying "I am sorry sir...". We were attending a wedding & my wife gently asked me to calm down & we will sort something later. To our surprise, two other rooms allotted to others in the group had the space & the spare bed was accommodated in their rooms. On questioning why that was not offered to us, she went on another protective rant. Poor training of staff to address customer service.

I was not a fan of the digital light and control panels in the rooms. Not user friendly at all, but that can be overlooked because everything worked and the room was decent enough otherwise... What can't be overlooked was the arrogance and condescending attitude of the staff. Specifically the European front desk lady and the manager. I had left a " do not disturb" sign on my door at 7am. Upon returning at 930pm, after a long day of work, the sign was still on my door and the cleaning staff had serviced my room...With the odd exception of NOT taking any of the trash. Kind of weird I thought. When I went to the front desk to bring this up, the two employees with European accents were annoyed and completely indifferent to my concerns about their employees disregarding my obvious request for room privacy and the fact that of all the things to do when servicing a hotel room, taking trash is 1/3 basic things. Likely would have received a more professional response from management of a Super 8 off an interstate.

We stayed here for our wedding and it was fantastic. The room was very comfortable, complete with black out curtains. Additionally, the staff left a little gift in our room to help us celebrate our wedding. The manager was easy to communicate with and made getting a room block for the few out of town guests we had very easy. I would stay here again.

Yelp
This hotel is made for Workcations!! So many cool work spaces around to do your work, the Wi-Fi is super strong with great video quality and included in your stay. The staff are friendly and helpful. There are two restaurants in this hotel, a breakfast / lunch spot and a dinner sushi restaurant. We didn't get to eat at any of these but they're there for travellers who need it. There are also lots of food options around and since this hotel is close to downtown you can Uber eats deliver anything you'd like. The room is clean and has great workstations in the room too! The shower is modern and great. They even put a fridge in the room at our request. The one downfall is they don't have any microwaves or any way to heat up your food if you need to. Parking is paid daily and is underground but is open to the public so there that too.

Yelp
It's a little difficult to rate this hotel - it brand new and still has that "new hotel smell" (is that a thing?). So it has its pros and cons. The hotel itself is located in Calgary's East Village - what I gather is an up and coming area. It definitely has that "modern feel" which of course is to be expected in a brand new build. With that being said, I don't believe it's all open yet (the bar/lounge area didn't look in service, and it felt like there were maybe 5 other guests in the hotel with us). That's not a bad thing, just makes it difficult to give a good overall review. We stayed in a king room which while small was functional. It reminded me of many hotels in Europe. It worked for two of us but would be a little tight if you are looking for a hotel room for the family. Bathroom and shower worked great and had a decent amount of space. Wifi was included and was speedy. Parking could be an issue. We parked on the street for free overnight - but otherwise you need to park in the city parking lot beside the hotel. Not sure they have their own lot. Overall I'd give this place another shot - especially at the price we paid ($109 for the night).

Yelp
Nice hotel clean, close to the river for those looking for a run or leisurely walk. Easy access to downtown restaurants and shops.

Yelp
Fantastic experience. Their customer service experience is planned and excellent. Kudos to you for thinking of all the details (no matter how small) that frequent travellers are challenged with. I will be seeking out Alt Hotel experiences based on this one. Your staff are excellent, your rooms beautifully and efficiently designed, and an overall excellent experience. Thank you.

Yelp
We had the best stay here! Rooms are cozy, clean and designed so so cute. Amazing service and staff members. Shout out to Rob at the front desk for being so kind and helpful. We brought our dog and he also loved it. It's right next to a dog park, amazing food & breweries and the walkway next to the river is a must. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
This hotel is amazing! Brand new, loaded with technology, and most importantly clean! Rob assisted me with check in and the process was very smooth, almost like catching up with an old friend. He's extremely knowledgeable about the area the hotel is in (the happening spots, where to go an so on). Oh and the bathroom soaps are divine, if that's your thing!

Yelp
Ridiculously inflexible cancellation policy. The manager refused to refund a no show charge even though I had called to cancel the reservation. I'll never stay at this hotel again.
