Multi story hotel with modern artsy flair/decor in downtown Calgary with a nice location near the river. A little trek to the Calgary tower but a nice walk nonetheless- we took longer way along the river boardwalk. |Our room was a few floors up, no great views unfortunately. The room was super clean, modern with digital controls for nearly everything like blinds, lighting, hvac etc- not exactly futuristic but modern stuff, and a bit fun to use ( I’m a Neanderthal). The bed was super comfy and I couldn’t get out of it in the morning.|Excellent dinner restaurant called Charbar directly across the street.|Parking in a dirt lot next to hotel about $18/night and breakfast not included ( as far as I know). Hotel staff friendly and accommodating.

Mediocre at best….. This hotel is new, modern and well located. However, do not expect much in the way of customer service. Parking is $30 per day and located off site. Rooms are super small, and barely enough space to walk on each side of bed let alone store some luggage. Front desk staff are mediocre, do not go out of his/her way to assist more than they need do, when asking for anything extra (forgot toothbrush) was told to come to the front desk. No on site restaurant, no room service, no fridge or microwave, no kettle in room (I found out a kettle was available by scrolling through google reviews). Paper cups not great for tea. Good customer service from the nice gentleman who brought me a toothbrush and kettle. Front desk staff could learn something from this nice person. Moderately mediocre and unremarkable. Spend your $350 + somewhere else, I have experienced better service at Holiday Inn Express, and Best Western hotels.

One of the most lively hotels i have visited so far! Very friendly staff that were ready to help at any time even when arriving late at night. Hotel is low on amenities such as pools and jacuzzi/sauna but that is a very minor detail to look for. Right in the heart of Calgary city and 20 minutes away from the airport makes this hotel a great setting. Price to quality ratio is 10/10 Highly recommended !

Fantastic location near the Bow River and centre of town, with fantastic staff. Close to everything, VERY quiet inside rooms and ultra modern high tech rooms, which we loved. We needed a few extra items for the room, including a corkscrew, and Reception promptly and happily sent them up to us. Thanks for a fabulous stay in Calgary.

Absolutely loved my stay at ALT Hotel - perfect location. Walking distance to Calgary Zoo and Esker Foundation (which I visited both). Walking distance pretty much from everywhere you need to go to in Calgary - so no car (or parking!) necessary. The rooms were exceptional. Very large, and ALL the amenities. The design is very well done (both aesthetically and functionally); trust me, I am a designer living in Brooklyn (my hometown is Calgary). I will definitely be staying at the Alt Hotel in East Village every time I visit Calgary, without question. Lastly, to note - the breakfast cafe downstairs was really great. Life Saver actually.

Small unpretentious but very modern hotel with a nice view of the Bao river. Walking distance from midtown, Calgary tower and other must visit places like the park. Enjoyed Nupo restaurant which is just at the entrance of the hotel and there’s a great place for breakfast and dinner just in front at the old “Simmons” Building.

Staff was nice at check in and helpful when engaged. The elevators are the sort you need to wave the card to make them work. A couple of times even though I had waived the card gotten the green light. The elevator just didn't take the button push. Ended up on the 9th floor because the elevator got called. Took a corner suite: The room is set up as a "u" with the bathroom in the middle. Does give you a more protected( non shoe box feeling) from the door. There is a glass panel shared between the bathroom/bedroom so the light from the bathroom is visible in the bedroom (the fox with quilt triangles the glass panel).. Access to one side of the bed is tighter than the other. Traveling by myself I didn't care. Binds are only so so. I found it reasonable quiet. Bed was firm. Pillows were good. Room felt like thoughtful intelligent people had laid it out and that I was a little too tired to see all of the clever details that they had thought up. Hand towels under the sink took me an embarrassingly long time to find. The shower could have used some directions that the top nob control either hand wand or rainfall showerhead - very hard to operate with wet hands. Needs a longer handle for more leverage. Room had hooks, usb (rectangular type a) ports and power. I liked the room controls by the bed. (Only one side). There is a closet with hangers and an iron. Quick walk to the river trails and reasonable close to Studio Bell. There is also a grocery store a couple blocks up. I was able to walk into downtown Calgary without any difficulty. (There is an ebike rental place across the street). There is a nearby playground for anyone with kids.

Had a lovely stay here at the end of March, staff were super friendly and the room was spotless - we really appreciated the little gifts left for us in the room as we visited as part of our honeymoon. The hotel is in a great location too - would definitely recommend and will stay here again next time we visit Calgary.
