I ordered a surprise bag from Alta Cocina through the Too Good To Go app and arrived about 10 minutes early. The staff was accommodating and quickly put together a to-go platter for me, which I appreciated. I received two pieces of chicken with rice and beans. The food was flavorful and well-seasoned, but I do wish the container had been filled a bit more to match the portion expectations. Overall, it was a tasty meal and a good experience.

One of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia is Alta Cocina, run by Chef Jose Luis. They have two locations with the same name: Alta Cocina 1, which is the one my boyfriend and I always go to, and Alta Cocina 2. I had bariatric surgery two years ago, so eating certain foods can be hard on my stomach. During my visit, I ordered the Mofongo with Garlic Shrimp and Chicharrón, and it was delicious! The mofongo was soft, and the chicharrón was chopped into very small pieces, allowing me to taste it in every bite. The shrimp were cooked to perfection. I’m not sure how Chef Jose Luis managed it, but I ordered my food at 1:00 PM, and by 7:00 PM, after saving the leftovers, the mofongo was still nice and soft when I finished it. You should definitely check out this restaurant!

Very good food. In my opinion it's one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia. They also have freshly squeezed orange juice which is great bonus.

Delicious home made food at a great price. I was skeptical of the place, it’s brand new so still unknown. But I gave it a try and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. Flavorful, good size, and a very reasonable price $10!. Highly highly recommended.

Ordered a too good to go order got there a bit late they were already closed up and were leaving, they saw me waiting and opened the place back up to get me my order even though it was only like 4 bucks. Incredibly kind people wishing them the best

I placed my order through Too Good To Go as the reviews were good and the food looked amazing. The food was definitely well worth the stop and enjoyed every bite of what I picked up. Their menu rotates every day of the week, so there's plenty of variety, and the staff were very kind. While it's a bit of a trek from where I live, I'll definitely have to stop by and sit down for food sometime in the near future.

Yelp
The food on the regular menu looks really good by the pictures. I got a TooGoodToGo though for 5.99. The chicken was alright and the beans were fine but it felt like I was being charged regular prices for eh leftovers. I hope the staffer didn't feel hurried when I let him know the app accepts my clicks 20 min earlier as I was okay waiting until 730 instead of waiting 5 minutes to 710 pm. The menu of items online is elegant but this was like a buffet for what was received. I wish the pictures had captions because reading the menu in words isn't very enticing for me. The prices listed online are high but this might be because delivery is free (to certain areas.) and you might get a lot of food. I wish this was more apparent. I feel there is probably a hidden gem of food for this place but the neighborhood is questionable and the language barriers and lack of convenience quick reads of captions with pictures affect the accessibility of ordering for me. Definitely willing to give the regular menu items a chance but TooGoodToGo is not the way to Go here. I also took a chance on 2 orders and got the same exact thing. Sigh. Staff is friendly but you need to use a translator for Spanish? I am surprised this place isn't on Yelp already but the neighborhood might be too gritty for most people. A few blocks north is a reputable Latino Community Center. And then the neighborhood gets slightly better with more businesses on the main drag of Lehigh Ave ( I think. )
