This is the first time in a few years that my family and I went here and i think it was a very solid meal. I think most of the dishes were good, but several of them were missing something for me
The bread they serve was very good. It was served with salt, olive oil, and butter. The bread had a nice crust on top and it had the nice level of chewiness that I really enjoy.
I tried a mushroom risotto that had pomegranate. I thought the risotto was cooked nicely, was smooth and creamy, and the mushrooms they added gave a nice earthy contrast. I wasn't a fan of the pomegranate added as the flavor combo seemed odd, but I think that's mostly personal preference.
The tuna tartar was tasty. I really liked the bread they served with it. I do feel like something was missing, like maybe a crème fraiche, but again, that is likely just my own preference.
The ricotta toast had a generous portion of a very smooth and tasty ricotta. It had pistachio and figs on it, but again, I feel like I'd enjoy it more with some changes. I didn't like the fig, but the rest of the table liked it. I think I'd have preferred a different salty substitute for the pistachio.
The chopped salad was nice. It had romaine, cherry tomatoes, Gorgonzola crumbles, and what I enjoyed most was the picked onion and blackberries. That combo worked well for me. The dressing was a celery seed vinaigrette which I also enjoyed.
The beans and greens was a dish I really enjoyed. It was pretty basic, but it had a basil pesto that I thought was very nice.
For the main, an order of branzino was ordered and that was a big hit. That may be my Mom's favorite fish and she said it was the best branzino she's ever had.
We also tried the pappardelle which was pasta with beef short rib sugo, and stracciatella. I thought the short rib was decent, but the pasta itself I really enjoyed. It certainly does taste differently (at least to me) and it reminds me of the times I've gone to an Italian home and had a home cooked meal.
I tried the chocolate torta caprese and enjoyed it. It came with whip cream, mint, chocolate shavings, and some hazelnut. I'd recommend this if you're a fan of darker chocolate.
The server was great. He won me over for a big tip just by giving me bread to take home with our leftovers, but he was great.
I don't see myself going here any time soon mostly because I'm not a huge pasta fan, but I think it's worth giving a try if you're looking for some up-scale Italian.
