Visited from Canada, the food is excellent and full of flavours, I think this is my first time i enjoy Lebanese breakfast since 11 years. They managed to bring the authentic flavours. Everything was great also they provided a complementary Hummus dish The prices on the higher level but you get what you pay for, if you missed the flavours of the home land this is your place

O EM GEE! Everything is perfect in this place; the food, the staff Ahmad and Sara, and the coziness. I am amazed!!! The food is so authentically Lebanese, flawless and yummy. With no exaggeration, I could have my brunch everyday there and I would never get bored or enough. Guys! Even the pickles there are something else!!!! I’m an Arabic girl and I can tell, this is truly the yummest Lebanese food I have ever tried in the entire universe so far.

This place feels like home, relaxing and easy-going. It lives up to its name (DELICIOUS). The food warms your heart and fills your belly. The Middle Eastern hospitality adds to the wonderful atmosphere. If you’re looking for authentic Middle Eastern breakfast, this is the place.

This restaurant is SO GREAT! The staff are so nice and the food is AMAZING. Got the falafel plate, and it’s such a good deal! I even got a little bowl of hummus on the house and it was SO creamy and good. 10/10!

TLDR : Reminds me of my Teta in Lebanon making me breakfast, each bite is better than the last 🇱🇧 Wow, where do I start… The service is top notch. Our waiter quickly seated us and was so attentive he brought things for us we were whispering about. No task was too small as he was proud to see our time spent here was similar to eating at his own house. The ambiance follows suit of being clean and organized. Perfect lighting and many windows for natural sunlight. I loved being able to see the sun shine across my plates and through the restaurant. The food was out of this world. All prepared fresh and brought to us quickly. In a matter of minutes food was brought to our table and was piping hot. To clarify, piping hot from the stove top, not the heat lamp. The vegetables that accompanied the dishes were all freshly cut and chilled but I have to point out the pickles. They are to die for on that veggie platter! The hummus, immaculate; the eggs with sujok, sensational; the fuul, WOW! This was my first time but I promise you, not my last!

Google
"Al Tayeb" roughly translates into "The Delicious" in English, and that would be an accurate name for this restaurant. Outstanding service, and everything was plated with much attention to detail. Let's just come right out and say it, AlTayeb has the BEST Falafel in the area, bar none. Even if you don't generally like falafel, you should try it here and let it become one of your favorites. A broad in the parking lot was fumbling for her keys, when her bag tore open, and a falafel escaped, rolling a few feet. She instantly scrambled to pick it up. She looked up and saw that I had seen what she had done; and said "Normally I would never pick food off the ground, but these are so good!". I uncomfortably laughed, but that does tell you something about these falafel. Another good dish is the Labneh and Zaatar. Picture a fresh soft cheese (maybe halfway between yogurt and cream cheese), with a pile of spices on top. Fresh, simple, delicious. If you are there for breakfast, you can't beat the Eggs & Sujuk. A big plate of scrambled eggs and finely ground sausage . Coffee was great, although the day we visited, they only offered CoffeeMate rather than Cream Aug 6 update: tried the Tabuli ( never noticed it on the menu). Really good. Maybe the best in the area. June 2023 update: tried Fatoosh salad. Big fried pita chips and coarsely chopped tomatoes and purple cabbage. Very good. April 2024 update: tried their Baba Ganoush, the best I've ever had! September 2022 update: Tried the Spicy Potatos. Really good. Fried with cilantro, butter, little garlic, unexpectedly tasty.

Altayeb Restaurant is an absolute gem on Google Maps! From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere. The restaurant's interior is beautifully designed, creating a cozy and inviting ambiance. Now let's talk about the food. The menu at Altayeb is a delightful fusion of traditional and modern Middle Eastern cuisine. The service at Altayeb is top-notch. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive, and always ready to recommend dishes or accommodate special dietary requests. Overall, I highly recommend Altayeb Restaurant on Google Maps. It's a culinary haven that combines mouthwatering flavors, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Comfortable place to bring your family and friends. The food is delicious. Great service!

Yelp
This restaurant gives major "mom and pop" type of vibes and those are my favorites! My husband and I were in Dearborn visiting a dear friend of ours and we always let her pick out our food itinerary because she knows all the best places, especially when it comes to Middle Eastern food! She brought us here on a Sunday morning for breakfast prior to us heading back to Chicago, and omg, everything was delicious! I wish I could tell you what we ordered but we had her pick everything out since she knows what's best. The service was fantastic as we were greeted and seated right away. Our server checked in on us from time to time to make sure everything was to our liking and we always appreciate great service nowadays. From our spread, the egg dish was definitely my favorite along with the potatoes. We also had tea to wash down all the deliciousness so overall, yes, I would definitely be back whenever I visit Dearborn again because it will never be the last. Everything was great and we couldn't have asked for anything better to end our short weekend trip to Dearborn!

Yelp
Wow. This place is a gem. Best Middle Eastern breakfast around. Great fast service. The Hummus with meat chunks was amazing. The owner Sam is a great guy and gave us great recommendations/service. Will DEFINATELY be back.

Yelp
This is the Lebanese food of my childhood- like straight out of the kitchen of someone 's grandma & it's very close to work- Very friendly man running the floor- it's a smaller place but has a back area for busier times I ordered enough food for 4 and took it home to my parents - we all ate for $50, including juices This is my new favorite neighborhood spot

Yelp
The place is packed every weekend until closing so expect a bit of a wait. The fatteh with meat, sujuk eggs, fried cheese, meat with onions and tomatoes, and falafel were all home runs, but the fool was just ok.

Mo B.

Yelp
This gem of a restaurant is an absolute delight for those craving authentic Egyptian breakfast cuisine. The flavors of fool (fava beans) and falafel are expertly crafted, making it a must-visit for anyone yearning for a taste of these delightful dishes. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and the place is very clean.

Yelp
Their Hummus is AMAZING!!!!!!! Their shawarma sandwiches need work, meat was dry and bread was stale.

Yelp
I usually go to the Al Tayeb in Dearborn, but decided to try the original for once. The food at this location is every bit as good and as a bonus, the employees and service are way friendlier. Hummus with Ground Meat ($12.99) - I have been to restaurants all over Dearborn and adjacent and in my opinion, Al Tayeb has the best hummus of them all. This is the perfect mix of chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon, and spices. We normally just have the complimentary hummus (I believe they usually give a small normal hummus for free for certain order sizes), but decided to spice it up this time with the ground meat option - this adds spiced ground beef and an assortment of toasted nuts on top. It makes a great hummus even better! (5/5) Mosabaha ($10.49) - This was described by the server as "hummus on top of hummus on top of hummus" and I guess he wasn't really wrong. This was basically a runnier hummus mixed with extra garlic, mashed chickpeas, and lemon juice and topped with whole chickpeas. A strong fresh, aromatic lemon flavor dominates this dish, lending a nice contrast against the regular hummus. This dish is served warm. I prefer the normal hummus, but this was good too! (5/5) Spicy Potato ($8.99) - This was the only dish we thought was done less well at this location. While they were still good, the potatoes were missing the crispy edge and didn't have nearly enough of the spicy cilantro mixture placed on top. In fact, we had to add in quite a few shakes of ground red pepper provided at the table to get it to the correct spiciness. (4/5) Vegetables + Pita (Complimentary) - Fresh mint, pickles, onion, and tomato. Free regular pita bread. What's not to like? Really, I think the only thing that could be improved is if they had fresh baked pita for purchase. Note: As with a lot of Middle-Eastern restaurants around the area, the water is not free - you can only purchase bottled water. They don't mind if you bring your own water though. I highly recommend Al Tayeb. Go and eat anything; you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
This is not the first time I go there whenever I visit family in Dearborn Heights! I always have good service and awesome food. Yesterday, for the first time I had not as good service " I understand waitress was by herself" however, I ordered a Feta with meat and ate there and ordered one Togo for my wife who was craving it. The one I ate there was very good as usual. We were very disappointed after opening the Togo one the next morning to find out it had no meat at all, and the portion was very small. I had more Feta from my leftover I ordered and had there then the one I had Togo I paid full price for two.

Yelp
Stopped by here for brunch today for the first time, and we had to make sure to try a bunch of items. Samer was wonderful in giving his recommendations. We were very impressed with everything and look forward to going back to try more items! 1. The chai was made perfectly. 2. The sesame fried cheese was delicious. Would definitely order again. 3. The labneh and zaatar hit the spot. 4. The fatteh with tahini was super yummy. 5. The ful Al Tayeb was also very good. 6. The hummus was so delicious, that we ordered one to go. Everything was fresh and you can taste the homemade goodness of it. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Garden City is low on good restaurants, so I was super excited to find a fantastic place so close to home! This Leabanese food was unlike any I've ever had before. Loads of options and all were delicious. Our waitress Sara (I think that was her name) helped guide through the menu and gave us great recommendations on what to try. My favorite was the Fatteh Tahini with Ground Meat! We are definitely coming back especially for brunch. It's very casual, with a low key friendly neighborhood vibe but don't let that fool you. The food here was serious!!

Yelp
When I'm about to try a restaurant with five stars my expectations are already sky rocketing. Well this place lived up to it. We were driving through Detroit and I wanted to touch the legendary Shatila bakery for some dessert but also wanted lunch near by.We yelped the near by places and this once caught my attention. Let's get started with the food. We ordered their famous spicy garlic potatoes which were delicious so so flavorful and crispy from outside-bite size and a great side. Next was the hummus with meat chunks-it was so so fresh-definitely the best I have had outside Middle East. We also ordered the falafels- they were as fresh as they can get, definitely a 10. Falafels come in 2 order sizes. Our server suggested a chickpea dish called Mshawasheh its cooked chick peas mixed with fresh garlic & lemon juice & tarator. It was really good but wasn't my favorite. The side salad in the pic was complimentary-it was so fresh and vegetables were crisp and loved the pickles in it. Overall every item we tried was delicious and super fresh. Every table has a bottle of olive oil so you can pour according to your liking. We came here on a late Sunday afternoon and it was packed-no spot to sit. The wait time was 15-20 mins and we were informed of our seating via text. Great friendly staff. Even though the place was full like a fish market their service was fantastic they kept checking on us and kept brining kaboos/Arabic pita. They do have outdoor seating but don't serve there-you can do a take out order and sit outside and eat. Lots of parking in front of the restaurant. Pricing is great. Great value for the money. They definitely are running a 5 star show. Kudos team.

Yelp
Drove 4 hours for this place when we were in Michigan. We had the hummus with ground meat and cashews, the spicy potatoes, the harhoura meat with onions and jalepenos, which all came with a ton of warm, freshly made, steaming Pita. If you like spicy, you'll love the harhoura. It was a revelation, and I look for it constantly in NY,but I haven't found it yet. Seems like they're the ones to make it, and nobody else has even heard of it. The spicy Potatoes are scrumptious. Not very spicy for me, but plenty of spics for my husband. We loved every single bite. We even had a bunch of leftovers for breakfast the next day. I was sad to see the bottom of the container. But mighty happy to have chosen to eat here. The staff is super nice, and the portions are gigantic. I would go to Michigan just for this place. You can taste the freshness and quality and love in the food. Also, one of the cleanest bathrooms around. If you're in Michigan, this is a MUST TRY place. You're welcome.

Dalia H.

Yelp
I meant to go to the Dearborn location, but accidentally chose this location. I'm happy that I did. Seating is a lot more intimate and it's a lot less busy than the one in Dearborn. Food, as expected, was excellent. I highly recommend coming with a lot of people so you can get several dishes. There's so much to choose from. With us being two people, we got 3 items. Everything was excellent. The eggs and sausage was divine. It tasted a lot like eggs with basterma. I need to come again and try more items.

Omar 6s N.

Yelp
It's the best of the best test off food amazing customer service amazing very generous I wash give them more off 5 star the deserve it

Noinya B.

Yelp
The closest thing to a Lebanese breakfast , enjoyed the grilled halloumi with sesame.

Thomas K.

Yelp
Brilliant! Great food! Cozy, welcoming. Excellent service. We're going back even though it's a 1/2 hour drive.

Mouad B.

Yelp
Amazing spot to grab breakfast/lunch. The food is incredible. Make sure you order the Battatta Harra (Spicy Potatoes), the flavors are insane. Falafel was incredible; crunchy on the outside, yet airy and fluffy on the inside. The fattoush and tabouleh are great if you are feeling a salad. My family loves the fatten with laban. This place is a go to spot for my family/friends and I whenever i am in Dearborn/Dearborn Heights.

Syd M.

Yelp
my brother and I visited detroit and came straight here. everyone including the owner were exceptionally welcoming and kind. food was amazing and we left full and happy. their potatoes and hummus are a must, of course.

Luayy A.

Yelp
I had to say that this place rocks my soul, I love eating here getting a Middle Eastern breakfast it's some of the best breakfast you could have anywhere I bet you any money you cannot find a place like this I bet you cannot find dishes or any kind of food like it but there are good breakfast spots don't get me wrong but the thing is this is unique because it healthy because it is something in my own backyard I could have a like the fact that the guy open the sub shop didn't work out turn to a breakfast spot and Bam I can say that for what I've known that somewhere that is really really good and stays good will always be good they always are busy but if you ask you want it a true tasing middle eastern breakfast not fast casual just ask the chef.

Kasem W.

Yelp
OMG! If you want to know how hummus should be served and taste like, this is the place! This is primarily a breakfast place and you won't find typical "shawarma" items. The portions are huge and prices are reasonable even with today's post-covid inflation standards. Try these: Fül Hummus with ground meat Harhoura any of their Fatteh Amazing service and amazing experience!

Louie R.

Yelp
felt like home , very nice staff and amazing food , coming back for sure , great place to feel like home and enjoy a bite from home land

Abed A.

Yelp
amazing Middle Eastern food with excellent service and pleasant owners very generous - my favorite place for a Saturday or Sunday breakfast

Wesam O.

Yelp
Yummy very delicious food. Nice and friendly stuff. Thank you all for such a great experience!

R M.

Yelp
Went for breakfast early on a Saturday. This was my second time coming here. I'm from jersey and live near a heavily Arab area so I'm use to getting good Arabic food. The food was great, Probably better than jersey ()! I really don't know what else to say about it. If you looking for good Arabic food, def come here. We got there about 9:30am, by the time we left, it was getting a bit more packed. They gave us an appetizer to try on the house. Everyone loved the food and of course it's large portions so be prepared to eat!

Maeby F.

Yelp
I've never had Lebanese food like this!!! Super fresh and tasty. The complimentary dish of mint, tomatoes, pickled radish and cucumber and onions were so vibrantly fresh as if it had just been picked that day. Food presentation was well done. Service was superb. Friendly and helpful as we asked questions since first timers. The place was clean! Oh and the tea! Oh the tea! Divine. They have this beautiful copper server with at least 6 copper pots for tea. Mmmmm, so good. I went to the original restaurant. Will surely be back in for tea and delicious food.

Ashraf S.

Yelp
Best breakfast ever. Middle eastern grandma style. As authentic as it gets. It just gets better every time. Everything is good. Don't forget the tea with fresh mint at the end

Jacob H.

Yelp
For reference, I have used yelp for close to 10 years, and have never written a review until now. The food here was incredible, I'm not going to act like I know what I'm doing by using fancy buzz words. Hummus with Meat, incredible. Harhoura, incredible. Fattoush, incredible. Spicy potato, incredible. Fatayel, incredible. Sam, the server/manager was also incredibly friendly, helpful, and personable. He seemed as if he genuinely cared about the business, and wanted everyone to have a great experience. This place has ensured I will make a point to fly to/from DTW airport whenever I visit the Midwest. Only negative from this place is that it's on the other side of the country from where I live.

Shashank M.

Yelp
This place's food is unreal , it's delicious. I enjoyed the labneh , potatoes and hummus with meat. We actually flew out to Dearborn to get some good Arabic food and this place hit the spot! The servers were kind !

Yaya H.

Yelp
Good place always fresh my try real ETHNIC, always the food consistent, always busy so be prepared to wait little extra but worth it.

Sherri M.

Yelp
Delicious food and super friendly staff. Since it was our first time here, we relied on our lovely server. The place was busy but service was fast.

Chris H.

Yelp
I guess this started out as a breakfast place, but my wife and I went there for dinner. It was fantastic - everything just tasted so fresh. Probably the best hummus I have ever eaten. We ordered it with meat, but I think it would have been just as good without. The fattoush was also delicious as well as a reddish colored meat dish that we loved (I forgot the name). Our server was very friendly and helpful with his suggestions, which was nice, since we weren't familiar with some of the dishes. I don't often write reviews, but this restaurant was so great that I had to make the time :-).

Rudy H.

Yelp
Was in Dearborn for the weekend. Came here two days in a row for breakfast. Honestly, this place is phenomenal. The service, the quality and the overall atmosphere is just spectacular. I love dining at places like this. You can tell ownership takes pride in serving their guests. Great job guys, keep it up!!!

Somaya E.

Yelp
We are originally from the Middle East and can say this is actually better than any homemade breakfast we had, even back home. The service is amazing, the people are attentive and kind. The food is also amazing, never ate something we didn't like! Planning on coming back tomorrow :)

Julianna Z.

Yelp
Very authentic and traditional Lebanese brunch. I truly don't think you can go wrong when ordering here. And the service is the best- some of the nicest people you will meet! There's not much atmosphere and is a pretty small space but I do think it's a good idea to dine-in in order to capture the freshness of the dishes. Plus if you don't know what to order, they will help and suggest dishes you may like. I should add this was my first time having a Lebanese brunch but would definitely order the following again Between 5 people we had the Fatteh, fool, hummus, harhoura, scrambled eggs with sausage and spicy potatoes. We had so much leftovers! My favorite was the harhoura(meat with onion and green chili), fatteh and the spicy potatoes. I normally like to eat vegetarian but the way they prepared the meat in the dishes was to die for- very tender and well seasoned. Thank you, Al Tayeb for making me feel so welcome and a great first experience!

Amal A.

Yelp
Thank you for a wonderful experience today. Best restaurant in Dearborn. Visiting from California and I vote this establishment as the best food and ambiance experience. Great food great service.

Cal K.

Yelp
Amazing food , great customer service. I ordered msabaha and it was amazing Restaurant is clean , they add all the small little details to make breakfast a great experience.

Mayada Z.

Yelp
The best Lebanese breakfast in the USA is the headline for this restaurant. We got a variety of food to shear. The plates are pretty big. The service was amazing. Highly recommend you to eat here

R. F.

Yelp
We've been traveling the country by road, and some times the culinary choices can be grim. After weeks of food that show-cased "American style" food (pasties, smoked fish, fish & chips -- all great experiences), we wanted to switch it up. We've always loved the kind of food Al Tayeb offers, and we did our research: we sought this place out based on what we've heard. Are we glad we came! The hummus is awesome and unfussy --perfect texture and rich taste. The falafel is amazing. The Mrs is not a fan of tahini -- but Al Tayeb's tahini made her re-think her opinion of it. The Labneh with zataar, like the hummus, had the perfect texture and right flavors. Makanek (a sort of beef sausage) was a new taste for us, and one we will look for in the future; this was a great introduction to it. At the proprietor's recommendation, we added the Mosabaha -- another revelation; the tahini with the chickpeas is a combination that works so well. The manger there was very gregarious and welcoming and the rest of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. If you are new to Middle Eastern style food, come directly to Al Tayeb. If you are an aficionado, also come here.

Wade K.

Yelp
I was blown away by Al Tayeb. The delicious food tasted just like what I grew up with. It seems like they focus on hummus and other chick pea related dishes, as well as foul and other fava bean related dishes. Everything was scrumptious. It was only me, but luckily work was paying, so I tried a bunch of stuff: - Foul w/ Tahini: Only fava beans and chick peas in this dish, probably with some spices. Served hot. I was blown away by the flavor. I have no idea how they managed to pull out so much flavor, but it was amazing. Robust and deep. Loved every bite. - Hummus w/ Meat: Hummus was creamy and flavorful. Perfect amount of garlic. Lamb was a little over-cooked, but that balance is hard to pull off. Really tasty. - Labneh w/ Zaatar: Traditional and basic, but flavorful and delicious. I don't know if they make their own labneh, but it was delicious. - Olives: Basic, traditional green olives. Great addition to the meal, although nothing different about them. Servings were also huge. Served with a plate of veggies and fresh mint. Just perfect. Each of the first three dishes listed above could have been a meal. Highly recommended!

Amelia B.

Yelp
There is a reason why there 74 reviews with a 5 Star rating. This place chose what they were good at, and kept doing it. Breakfast! If you dont know, middle eastern breakfast uses a lot of beans. Fava beans, Chick peas, Hummus, tahini, are normal breakfast Items. It is a small, clean, family run place thats not in the normal Dearborn area. There isnt much room to eat in. GO THERE ANYWAY. Order To Go, it's plenty of food. We bought the Fatteh, the Fool, and the Spicy Potatoes. Fatteh is chick peas, in a yogurt/tahini sauce that you eat with crumbled fried pita chips. Fool is a mashed fava bean and chick pea mix. The potatoes had the best tasting green sauce ever! Perfectly cooked, crispy and soft all at the same time. The portions are great, the prices are great. Take it home, make a few eggs, and chow down. Its literally like eating grandmas breakfast.

Yousef S.

Yelp
Bro this is amazing just amazing there attitudes are also awesome I recommend this place if you wanna have the best breakfast of your life.

James B.

Yelp
Good middle eastern breakfast food , Try the Fateh with meat , or if you want a vigan dish , the Masabaha which is chickpeas with Tahini and olive oil.

Katherine A.

Yelp
Wow! We will be back. Thank you for your hospitality and that amazing breakfast. Our kids loved the eggs with sausage. Those potatoes are off the hook!! And my oldest son ate almost all the olives! Be well

Alina A.

Yelp
Hot and fresh Lebanese style brunch is what you will get A Tayeb! Al Tayeb is right next to good burger in garden city and gets packed on the weekend. The place offers vegan/ vegetarian and meat lover food options. I recommend the foul and the spicy potatoes mix. Al Tayeb also has sjouk the spicy Lebanese stuff sausage. Best part is everything is fresh and taste really good! On weekends you have to come early or else wait longer in line

Mona A.

Yelp
Such a great place for Lebanese style brunch. You have to order something off each section of the menu to really get the whole experience. We had the foul, falafel, eggs with tomato and onion, spicy potatoes and tea. They bring out a platter of veggies and we used the mint in there for our tea. They stop serving brunch by around 2-2:30pm so keep that in mind. Everything was amazing! We cannot wait to return!

Simon K.

Yelp
Best Falafel I've eaten outside of the Middle East. There breakfast/brunch is a unique feature which is unmatched in the area.

Nancy M.

Yelp
Best breakfast great hospitality must try the foul and fafal with eggs and meat all homemade

Rula S.

Yelp
This place has a limited menu- a few things they really specialize in, and if you don't have a mom that makes a really good fatteh or spicy potatoes, then try this place. The labneh with zaatar was ok, the foul was ok & the hummus bi tahini was ok (even tho they pride themselves on this item). I wouldn't come back here as it was nothing extraordinary to me. I appreciate the service and the prices are great for the amount of food you get (you can share 1 bowl between 2 or 3 people.) I forgot to add the HOT SAUCE, which is the small green bowl in the pic. For me, it was the extraordinary....hot & sour! WINNER...I would go back for that! If you don't know anyone that makes either one of these tasty dishes, I'd try this place BUT go on a weekday morning.

Maya H.

Yelp
Came here for the authentic Lebanese breakfast that we love. We were not disapointed. We ordered multiple dishes to try them and they were all very flavorful and delicious. The gentleman taking our order was nice and friendly. My favorite dish there is the fatteh b Laban. I highly recommend this place.
