We found Alte Überfahrt via the Michelin Guide app and were intrigued to visit this restaurant in beautiful Werder. Even though there is no parking directly at the restaurant, we found a free spot just a short walk away. We went for the six-course menu to fully experience what was offered. Service was excellent, and we were lucky enough to have the chef personally explain most of the courses. He explained each dish’s preparation and the origins of the ingredients in great Italian, adding a personal touch to our experience. Several dishes wonderfully captured nostalgic flavors and smells, reminiscent of childhood memories in Italy. Highlights were the Risotto Gratiniert, served as a dessert, and the Zicklein aus Iden. The risotto was especially memorable, with dried pine that perfectly balanced the flavors and added an exquisite touch. We very much enjoyed our visit to Alte Überfahrt and are eager to return.

A modern restaurant in the heart of a beautiful old area. Right on the water you are greeted with a chic interior. Food was thought out and given care to keep the ingredient lists small and elegant. A multitude of ideas yet shown in a simple way. Go for the 5 course tasting menu and dont be afraid to get a little messy while eating. My only complaint was service felt a tad cold and animals are allowed inside.

Very good Michelin star restaurant. Down to earth, non-pretentious, simple love towards ingredients. We loved how their dishes are so light, using just the needed amount of fat. Every flavour was perfectly balanced, thoughtfully prepared throughout the course, including dessert. Staff was also super knowledgeable and friendly. We are so happy this restaurant is near Berlin and already looking forward to going back.

Ate here on Saturday evening (4ppl). Service was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Chose the 5 course menu with wine pairing. Each course was delicious and well thought through. There was no showing off, this was talent in preparation and selection of produce and and the wine matching was perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Yesterday I attended a spectacular lunch menu event of several courses combined with a commented winetasting of the Austrian wine maker Schloss Gobelsburg. The cuisine is highly creative and at the same time very satisfying aimed at pleasing the guests rather than reflecting on the vanity of the restaurant. I can recommend this restaurant in every aspect!
