This Distillery’s Coffee-Flavored Rum Is Back for a Victory Lap | Eater DC

"It sounds like Altered Suds Beer Co. will be a 10-tap brewery coming to Warrenton next year and will stay true to its name with experimental beers — for example, an imperial stout made with black tea and coco bits." - Adele Chapin

This is a nice brewery located right downtown. It’s tucked away in the basement, but it’s cozy and there is a back porch with a cool atmosphere. Games and good beer. It was a welcome reprieve from the shopping when only a good beer will do

This microbrewery is different from most we go to in Virginia as this one is down in the basement of a building in Warrenton. One warning this place can be a little hard to find as it has a small sign and there's an outside dining area that blocks the view of it. In this case you can trust Google maps as it does take you to the correct spot even if you can't see it. Anyway they had a good mix of brews on tap with 11 total when we were there, plus one mystery brew. They had everything from IPAs to Stouts, including at least one seltzer, and of course for October a pumpkin flavored brew. Debbie's favorite was a peach flavored brew and despite the fact that I usually don't care for flavored beer the altered Ginger beer was great. Despite being in the basement of a building the place doesn't feel cramped and they even have a small arcade room off to the side with some good old fashioned flipper games. Finally they do have a kitchen on site with a decent menu of pub style food available. Oh yeah I forgot to mention the bartender was awesome.

I was pleasantly surprised that seven beers were on tap as soon as the place opened for business. If the first seven are any indication, the future should be bright. I'm going to edit my current review by adding that they've been open for 2 and 1/2 years now. I love Cory and Tess as owners, wonderful people!. Apart from that, Cory continues to deliver really good beer and varying as well, which I love. I'm somewhat of a traditionalist and I was a little worried when they first opened that they were going to stick to the new styles. Thankfully, Corey brews traditional styles such as wee heavies, Irish reds, stouts, etc in addition to the new styles.

Great brews with a bit of an speak-easy vibe as the place can be easy to miss (basement location almost below Mollys irish pub. Great atmosphere, family-friendly, with super friendly bartenders. Hidden gem for sure.

Nice brewery with some good brews. It is located in the basement, which adds character to the joint. Will be going back whenever I am in the area.

Love the atmosphere and beer here, but I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars because Lauren saved my sunglasses for a few months. And she’s an awesome bartender!!! Thank you!

Love this bar! Best beer in town! They use the highest quality ingredients and it shows. They are 100% authentic and super rad. Get the flight of beer and you won’t regret it! Also, the Realm Drifter is the best beer I’ve ever had and I don’t even like beer.
