I met a gentleman named Pierce as he greeted me at the desk , I had a stack of 90s comic books (my collection). I wanted someone just to look at and give me more information- In fact I was given more information and even took the time to look through and give me honest options and knowledge. He even went through them again and pointed out the ones that were worth a little bit . I wanted to say thank you once again! This shop is worth going to... it gives you a piece of nostalgia walking in. Good stuff!!!!

Unique store with a plethora of back issues. Tons of dollar bins, but leave time to dig because they aren't sorted. Back issues are set up all over the shop by character. I found myself plucking unexpected treasures when a bronze age run caught my eye. Very fair prices and friendly staff makes this a must stop store with character!

I am 54 and have been reading comics since I was 12. Alternate Reality is by far my favorite comic book store ever. Ralph and his staff are always helpful and have created a great community. His store feels like home and they have helped me find comics that I wouldn’t have known I would like. The selection is fantastic and the prices are reasonable. Thanks for everything Ralph!

This is a very interesting comic store with a lot of good comics at reasonable prices. I found it a little tricky to find anything specific but the magic lies in wandering through the shelves and exploring the boxes. The owner is also a very nice dude.

Great stock of reasonably priced back issues and some really, really good dollar bins. Very friendly staff. Store was easy to navigate and find what I was looking for, which already scores points with me. There are more than enough shops out there that throw their junk on the floor (literally and figuratively) that I'll leave if I can't clearly navigate where I'm going. But I was happy with Alternate Reality. Couple that with the friendly staff and I wished I could have stuck around a little longer. Great store!

The location is off the beaten path which isn't bad. Their mystery boxes are overpriced and filled with literal junk. $35 and got a $2 slab... prices on sealed and singles was the standard market pricing. Nothing special and not a very large selection compared to other LV stores

This place is a haven and an amazing place for any comic collector or reader. This place has a great compilation of every genre from Marvel to your favorite on shoot and off shoot comics. Ralph and Preston are great!

I love this place. Its a must stop every time Im in my home town. Culture and tradition in the store. Ralph is A+ and really is about community. Lots of selection. New Issues, back issues and trades. He has it all. Lots of parking, however very busy lot. So park out some for easy departure. 2 entrances from the main corners. Great prices and well organized. Follows all safety covid protocols. Webpage and pull boxes available. Highly recommend this comic book store. Very big on supporting local artist. This is a Vegas stop for sure.

While shopping with my daughter I rediscovered the importance of being my self . Was this what I used to be like? The redirected energy of dark to light . The battle that we endure each day ! The Phoenix Saga always touched upon me . Recently I've been reading and rereading them playing the mantra of her message . That inner battle and strength and struggle that Jean Grey goes through to find balance and inner peace . Ultimately she absorbs and makes them bind together as one union and it makes her whole again . All comes to pass. Sometimes this is what I own with all that comes and continues to pass through me . I'm that one that steps back and makes it all great and sparkle. Let's go and make it the best it can be. Although we leave not much for ourselves but it's the wholeness that we can give to others that fills us up and makes it feel blissful . Are you Marvel or DC? This is holy ground so no wars are fought here ! Bring yourself down here today . If you are looking for comics find peace and know it's probably in the walls of this universe. If not just ask and it can be found . What was broken, will ultimately be your reality again.

Every time I visit Las Vegas I make it a point to stop by Alternate Reality Comics. It's very well organized, so you can find something specific you're looking for e.g. if you're a Joker fan they've got a section for all his books. Indie Comics? They've got a truckload of them. Picked up a really cool brooding Batman poster for my 8 year-old as well. They also have comics for all ages. My kiddo picked up a Dogman comic while I picked up some doorstopper tomes from Marvel, DC and Indie Comics publishers. The staff is very friendly and I highly recommend a visit if you're in the neighbourhood and love Comics.

Amazing shop with an extensive selection. Ralph was so welcoming and recommended some great books. Will be stopping by every time I'm in town.

This comic store has truly been amazing. At the old store I used to frequent, the owner would often make me uncomfortable as a girl who enjoys comics with weird and sometimes inappropriate comments. Finally I had decided to find a new spot, that hopefully would be more welcoming and kind. And this place is exactly that. The owner, Ralph, is incredibly kind and wonderful and never makes you feel out of place. The same can be extended to the other employees as well. I'm so happy to have found this place and make it my new usual comic store.

Old school vibe, great set up of books by publisher, and an excellent value section of back issues. There's not much space in this storefront, so they really make the most use of everything. Service was unobtrusive and pleasant. I liked this spot a lot. I do wish I lived closer to it, then I would make this my main LCS.

My daughter has recently developed an interest in comic books. So all she wanted to do was visit a comic book store when on our vacation. This by far was her favorite. Everyone was so nice and knowledgeable. It was also very reasonable priced.

The new location is very nice! So well laid out. Still has that genuine comic book shop feel to it but is less congested than the old location. It is easily in the top five comic shops to visit in Las Vegas.

Alternate Reality Comics is an awesome neighborhood comic book shop specializing from the mainstream to the obscure. Walking the entire store. I saw Spiderman and Superman comics, anime, indie books, graphic novels, trade paperbacks, new comics and old comics plus original comic art. Plenty of reading material to satisfy a person's overactive imagination. The owner Ralph is a warm and friendly individual. Very helpful and willing to give any recommendations in his well organized store. If there is anything you might want. If for some reason it's not in his store currently. Ralph would happily order it for you if it's still available for him to order. He is that cool. Unfortunately, I don't live in the neighborhood but if I did. Alternate Reality Comics would be a comic book store that I would visit weekly. The location just has so many cool things to offer. Support local businesses especially the good ones. Hands down the best priced comic store in Las Vegas. They might not have an extensive back stock, but for the treasure hunters in a real collector, you'll know if you do find the book you want it will be way cheaper then the other comic book stores. Service is great, owner usually there so you make deals on backstock comics... saved almost $20 with cash.

It's the Best comic book store in town and maybe the world and it's not even close. Ralph is an amazing owner and a great guy. Humble, knowledgeable, funny and most importantly, friendly. It doesn't matter your knowledge level, it doesn't matter what background you come from, it only matters that you are in Alternate Reality Comics and you are willing to look and see what they have to offer. You'll feel so comfortable with your surroundings that you'll wanna buy. The store does what it intends. It intends the guest to be engaged in comics and that's the state of mind Ralph puts you in. As one of the longstanding shops in Vegas and for a really great reason, look no further and head down to ARC immediately. You will not be disappointed. Love that store. Love the owner of that store. The best comic book store in town... super friendly and helpful staff and amazing quality back issues !!! Got about 30 Spider-Man back issues I was looking for !!

An abundant stock of classic and current comic books! My grandson had no problem selecting the items he was searching for. Service was kind and attentive.

This is easily my favorite comic book store in all of Las Vegas and it all simply comes down to one thing - charm. While the new location feels smaller than the older location, it feels brand new and with the same cozy atmosphere that won me over in the first place. Every experience I've had is top notch, the staff always has fantastic picks for different series jump on points and is always willing to engage in friendly conversation about the newest and greatest to come from the industry. The selection tends to lend itself towards a more indie comic lover's taste, but there are plenty of Marvel and DC comic greatest hits to choose from. Ultimately, the magic that happens at this store is the feeling that I will find something special and one of a kind that I won't find elsewhere. Whether that be the comics or the staff that has been apart of comic books for years. Alternate Reality is a gem I'm glad to have found.

If you like comics or manga this place has it. Walked in these to look around and ended up spending a bit to much . This place is great. They care about the hobby and they know what all fans like. A+ Comic shop.

Pretty cool comic shop. It's real chill and laid back and has a pretty decent indie collection. Bought some books and overall enjoyed my time. Would have loved to see more statuettes/toys or some cool CGC books. But overall bad a fun experience!

Unless I'm missing something, and I may be, this place isn't all that good unless you want TPBs. I saw LOTS of them. But their selection of comics was much smaller than anywhere else I've ever been. They have racks of currents all over, mixed in with TPBs of every variety. I wanted to try an out-of-town shop and was really hoping for a much larger selection of comics. Was pretty disappointed in that respect. I asked about variants and was told they basically had a single box. I've never seen that. I did end up buying a few books on my wish list. But looking thru their stock I realize that I had to be very careful; a lot of their books aren't boarded and many aren't even bagged. Lots of dinged corners and small rips. Like I said maybe I'm missing something. But it's a small shop so unsure what I may have missed. On the plus side the place, on a weekday evening, was pretty busy. Their clientele seems to really enjoy being there which is a good thing.

I was in Las Vegas during Labor Day Weekend. My first day here, I decided to come to Alternative Reality Comics. I bought Vampirella #2, and now I have it bagged and boarded! This place is like a total comic book Mecca! Plus, everytime a customer enters, you hear the sounds of sliding doors from Star Trek: The Next Generation!

I really liked this Comic Book Store. There is a very well rounded selection of known and unknown titles. The owner is knowledgeable and helpful and you are free to explore and browse until you find something familiar and something strange as I did.

This place was exactly what we needed! Prior to leaving for a trip we like to get some new graphic novels to read while away. While this place does have lots of single issue comic books, we went for the graphic novels. They had a great selection all broken down by publishers and a good selection of first volumes from Image for $10, a great way to get into a new series. Lots of indy publishers too which is great to see. The guy working here was really knowledgable and was happy to help offer suggestions and ask questions about what you like to tailor suggestions to your preference. Great prices, specials, and choice here. Loved this shop.

Love the new location. Same great friendly feeling when entering the store. Love the way the comics are separated by genre as well as publishers. (IE; A whole endcap devoted to Ed Brubaker's Noir stuff? Yes please!) have been shopping at their Maryland location for the last decade, and have always been excited to make a trip to my favorite comic store in Vegas. From pull boxes to graphic novels they got you covered. 5

A terrific comic book shop where I found back issue comics from my era, the 80's-2000's! Ralph the owner is super-cool to talk to and he has a fantastic inventory of legitimate back issue comic books. I couldn't be happier!

The absolute best comic book store in Las Vegas (and perhaps the oldest?). Ralph and his Alternate Reality Comics have won Eisner Awards for their spirit: they love comics! Not just the superheroes (though they have those, too) but comic books of all types: Walking Dead, manga, crime stories, Star Wars, and so much more! Besides simple comic books, Alternate Reality has t-shirts, memorabilia, and plenty of gift ideas for everyone young and old. The passion for this medium shows through from the moment you walk in the door. The colors, the music, the fun! Absolutely a wonderful experience.

This place is great! They have everything you could possibly ever want. Tons of tpb's, new issues, statues, pops and tons of original art and splash pages! Also they have 50 cent boxes and up.

Came in the other day, very lack luster with so so selection and I was ignored the whole time. Didn't feel welcomed and I would rather shop other local comic stores like Maximum Comics or Celestial as the staff is way more welcoming and friendly. Other reviews say the store owner is nice but I have yet to experience this, been an in and out customer for 5+ years and it stays low on my list of Vegas Comic stores for this reason

Amazing shop! It was organized really well and I had no issues finding anything. They have a great selection of main stream and indie comics, along with manga. I found some amazing titles I've never heard of before. The staff were helpful and gave me some great recommendations. I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in Vegas.

Alternate Reality Comics is known around Las Vegas as one of the longest running comic book stores, one visit in and you'll understand why. The owner Ralph Mathieu is one the nicest person you'll ever meet, his knowledge of all things geekdom are legendary. No pressure sales, friendly staff, a very clean layout and enormous selection of Comics, Manga, TPB's, shirts, posters and merchandise for all your needs. One of the things I love is the Artist Spotlight events he hosts monthy to help a local artists get that much needed exposure and best of all the monies go directly to the Artist. He also hosts numerous fundraisers throughout the year that benefit our community! How amazing is that!! Ralph is a shining example that we all carry the HERO gene inside us, you just need to know where to look!

I haven't been here in over ten years, but I was a weekly customer for several years back in the 00s. Amazing store. If they don't have what you're looking for (a rarity), Ralph will make sure that they get it for you. Ralph is absolutely brilliant, the nicest comic shop owner I've ever known. Far and away the best comic shop in Vegas. One of the things I miss the most about Vegas is actually ARC, believe it or not.

EXCELLENT SHOP!!! Ralph the owner was a treat to talk to, gave me a deal on a key book that just came in, plus TONS of .50¢ and $1 comics! Huge fan of this store. If I was a local this would be my weekly shop.

My favorite comic book store in Las Vegas!!! This gem has been around for a long time and I can't believe I forgot to post here. Ralph the owner is the best. Over the years he's turned in me on to some of my favorite series of all time. Not just that?! He is also so well read, there are plenty of indie titles he's lead me to over the years. A good representation of his store. With an easy on the eyes display. He represents popular and indie titles. Also sorting by authors is a great way to see a favorites expanded body of work. Always supporting local artists & writers and the community. Had an especially great time recently at the Where we live release event. I'll be coming back here as long as it's open. My highest personal recommendation!

Found this place while driving down flamingo when I was visiting Las Vegas. This store has lots of nice super hero / villain t shirts and there the real ones too. Also lots of comics and other superhero/ villain things The store is real clean and well organized. The guy that was working was real nice and helpful. If your into comics and other super hero/ villains stuff you need to check this place out. Can't wait for my next trip to Vegas so I can put some money to the side before a blow it all on the strip.

Alternate Reality is a totally fun comic book store. If you don't know anything about Free Comic Book day, it was created here by the owner of Alternate Reality Comics. My only problem with this store is that I end up buying way too much. If you are in comics nerd, the stories for you.

Alternate reality comics is the most amazing comic shop I've ever been to. Ralph is great, his store is well curated and caters to all collectors. I highly recommend any and everyone to visit and enjoy this wonderful experience.

We were in Vegas for a mini vacation and went to Alternate Reality Comics because of the rave reviews here on yelp. We were not disappointed. This is one of the coolest comic book stores I have been to. Talk about lots of independent comics. I picked up a true gem of a comic called "The Pro" (Ennis, Conner, Palmiotti, Mounts) and what a funny, funny comic (not for the politically correct). I could not believe the selection of odd ball, off the wall stuff. Right up our alley. We purchased lotsa stuff. The guy we spoke to (I think he was the owner) was an oddball himself and very charming. We talked about San Diego Comic Con and the difficulty in finding good comic book stores or comic book stores with staying power. He was a fountain of information and willing to order any comic book you wanted if he didn't have it in stock. Very nice and accommodating as well. If we lived closer to Las Vegas this would be one of our regular stops. Very warm and hospitable atmosphere.

What a great store. Great selection, good variety and free bags and boards. Spec books are regular price and no eBay-pricing bull crap. The owner was super nice and the store was nice and clean.

Ralph Mathieu has a gem of a LCS (Local Comic Shop) here in 'Lost Wages' Nevada, and I have been shopping here for around a decade or so. He offers an unparalleled selection of independent and smaller publishers...but his selection of the 'Big Two' is not neglected but well curated He has a large selection of $1/$2/$3 dollar books, the store is neat and well organised.

I heard that Spiderman died! Ohh noeezzzz! I remember when I went to UNLV that there was a comic book across the street so I went back to where my memory brought me and it wasn't there! Alternate Reality was nootttt there, noooooo. Then my Spidey-Sense was tingling and Yelped it's location. I found it! So I web swinged my way over and Ralph was still there but at a slightly bigger store. He had in stock the 7 or so comics that detailed the death of Spiderman. =( The store is stocked like the last time I was there with comics, manga, etc. The owner Ralph is very nice and knowledgeable. The store is organized and clean. Glad this comic book store is still around! rip Spidey! But Captain America died too but they brought him back to life, can't wait for Spidey to return!

This was the first shop I went to on a recent trip to Vegas. The owner of the shop was at the till organizing and I browsed around the shop. There was a good selection of comics and books. There were some other items as well, but not what I was looking for. The owner and I chatted for a bit and he was welcoming. I ended up getting a retro Superman oversized comic. The owner did refer me to another copy book shop though that did have what I wanted so I really appreciated that. The shop has a unique feel to it and the owner seemed very knowledgeable. Parking was not a problem and prices seemed on par Definitely worth checking out if you are looking for comics and books

The best comic book shop in Las Vegas hands-down. I used to live there but even though I moved to Northern CA , Ralph and his crew still takes care of my comic book needs.

Ralph is AMAZING! We were on a quick Vegas trip and of course I had to come check out the shop. Best comic shop I've been in. The layout, what's in stock, it's clearly curated by someone who knows and loves what they do, truly. And then we met Ralph. And it all made sense. He spent time hangin, chatting, made some great suggestions, and happy to say we are rocking and repping w our Alternate Reality Comics t-shirts back in LA. Thanks Ralph, you are the BEST!

I haven't been obsessed with comic books since Ben Edlund stopped making The Tick, which was a very, very long time ago. So I may not be qualified to review a comic book store. But I think it's really cool that this store promotes local comic book artists and writers, such as our very own PJ Perez. You can tell the staff and owners really love comic books and know their stuff! As a former comic book addict (albeit on a very limited basis), I can definitely recommend this store.

My favorite comic book store of all time!! Alternate Reality Comics offers the relaxing and casual feeling of your old-school comic book store, back when there were so many comic book stores and Maximum Comics didn't take over the comic book industry in town. Ralph and his team make sure that everyone is able to find what they're looking for in his store. He offers a wide variety, everything from your basic superheroes, manga, and even your not so popular comics. My family and I have been going to his store for as long as I can remember, and he is always so nice and friendly to everyone he meets. Ralph introduced me to the Archie comics and so many other great comic books over time! Along with comics he also featured a lot of local artists inside of his art gallery corner of his store! You can also see him featuring new events and parties throughout the months, themed around various comics and movies! Alternate Reality Comics is the ONLY comic book store I use because not only do they have what I'm looking for, but they offer a friendly face too!

Cool place to check out! They have a wide variety in new and old comics. I personally liked the 50 cent bins they had. I found a lot of comics I needed for a really good deal. Aside from that, this place has everything labeled, so if you need help looking the labels could help in guiding to find what you are looking for!

This is by far one of the most chill comic book places I've ever been in. From the varieties from children to teens to even obscure mangas I was in awe. I hiiiiighly suggest this place if you're not a local here!!!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! They have so much variety in their comic books and also sells a lot of collectible items. I remember my local comic book shop kept running out of the new Hawkeye issues or is late to get them but I never had trouble getting it here. The owner of this shop is so helpful and friendly. He'll show you where everything is if you're looking for something in particular. You can tell he knows the place by heart and it's great to see. He will also give you good recommendations based on the things that you read. So nice, I love this place.

Alternate Reality Comics has always had the most unique collection of comic book art, graphic novels, t-shirts, and fan favorites, especially for the shoppers from the University of Nevada Las Vegas across the street that like to escape from their studies on the corner of Flamingo and Maryland Parkway to enjoy the great reads of Flash, Supergirl, Batman and Wonder Woman. I took my son on Wonder Woman Day and the store with packed. Free comic book giveaways, pictures with Wonder Woman, the children had a blast, and the library is right next door which is nice if you are parent trying to teach your child to read more. Special thanks to Alternate Reality Comics for a great way to start the summer on June 3, 2017.

THE STORE IS AWESOME. It is very large and spacious, the variety is great, the deals and bundles are cheap and awesome, and the customer service was AMAZING! I recommend all comic lovers to this store.
