If I could give this a 3.5 rating i probably would. The hotel is beautiful and is exactly what you would expect and want for a postcard of a hotel along the Mosel. Location is ideal for the beginning of the small walk-platz in the idyllic town of Beilstein. our room was on the third floor (two flights of stairs (no issue)) but might be if you had large luggage. The check in was courteous but not really helpful. The room was small but very cozy and offered what you need for a good night sleep. Beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was good size considering the room was small. Came with a bottle of water (fizzy). There was no kettle for coffee or tea service. While the bed was comfortable, the walls are thin and the stairwell is crazy loud especially if you have loud neighbors marching up the stairs. ||||The breakfast was very good with appropriate amount of items and variety. Coffee is brought to your table. Overall would rate the breakfast as good. It has black-forest ham, salmon, yogurt, juices, cereals/muselix, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese with olive oil, assortment of cheeses and coffee or tea. ||||Wifi was good||||Parking was limited around the hotel but there are several car parking lots around the hotel. It is a hotel along the mosel so you just have to understand that parking is limited. ||||Restaurant. We did not eat at the restaurant although it does offer a pretty setting. The prices compared to other restaurants a few feet / meters a way seem to be 30 percent more from a scan of the menu. ||||Check out is at 11:00 and we did not really pay much attention to the time as we leisurely worked our way into the morning, it was the weekend and we were on a mini-mini-vacation. Breakfast is until 10:00. Bottom line, think 11:00 is a bit early but not totally out of the ordinary in Germany. We checked out at 11:30 and they were a bit rude about the fact that we were checking out 30 mins past the time, and we did not intentionally check out late, we just did not know and assumed check out was noon like most hotels. Granted, our fault but they could have been a bit more pleasant about it. Loved the the town, not sure i would go back to the Altes Zollhaus primarily because of the check out and because of the paper thin walls. ||||Price point. Think the room was value for money.
