We really enjoyed our stay here. We appreciated the location was quiet yet only a few metro stops/20 minute walk into the city center. The daily breakfast was nice to have on the terrace and we often enjoyed dinner in the neighborhood restaurants versus more touristy city center. The location was also easy to get to from the airport and it was easy to take the train to other parts of Italy from here.

We stayed at Althea Inn for 3 nights and found it perfect as a home base while visiting Rome. The staff are extremely welcoming and kindly agreed to our requests to leave our luggage at reception before our check-in upon arrival as well as after our check-out on the day we were leaving. We particularly loved the breakfasts, we felt like we were royalty! There is a QR code you scan the night before to order, and you have a lovely selection of juice, coffees, teas, pastries and breads, boiled eggs, and fruit that is delivered to your room the next morning. We had one morning where we needed to leave very early, and the staff kindly prepared a light packaged breakfast for us so we didn’t have to try finding food elsewhere. The amenities all work well (kettle, minifridge), and the water pressure and heat were very good for the shower. At night, the neighbourhood feels safe and quiet, and we had an incredibly easy time sleeping from the comfortable bedding, mattress, and quiet environment. The inn is a bit of a distance away from central Rome (ex: Roman Forum) but by using the metro we personally had no issues with the distance. We actually preferred being in a quieter area for our evenings, and there’s still plenty of beautiful sights in that area - we recommend checking out the botanical gardens! Thank you to everyone at Althea Inn, we would happily stay again and will be recommending you to our family and friends!

My husband and I recently stayed here for a couple nights! Firstly, the customer service is AMAZING!!! Secondly, we absolutely loved the terrace and daily breakfast service (see photos)! A couple notes - the entrance/location is a bit odd, but it is located on a quiet street and very close to a train line that takes you to a lot of the tourist areas as well as a train line for the FCO airport. This is a great affordable place to stay in Rome if you are visiting!!

We stayed 6 nights in Rome and our stay at Althea Inn was perfect. Though not in the city center, that was part of it's charm. Being near metro, bus, and tram stops, you were quickly in the historical area, but you could easily leave the tourists and experience a thriving neighborhood with restaurants and markets. The Inn's service was exceptional, recommending restaurants, arranging a driver to the airport, and letting us use their bicycles. Breakfast was delivered to your room, and there were many optins to choose from. I will definitely stay here, when in Rome.

I stayed at this charming small hotel with my daughter-in-law, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. The location was perfect, with the metro station just a short walk away, making it easy to explore all of Rome. The hotel itself was cozy and had a warm, welcoming atmosphere. One of the highlights was the breakfast, which was served to our rooms every morning. It was a lovely and convenient touch. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always offering helpful tips and going out of their way to ensure our stay was as enjoyable as possible. If you're looking for a peaceful, well-located hotel in Rome with excellent service and a personal touch, I highly recommend this place.

I’ve been traveling Europe for over 30 days and this was one of my favorite rooms along the way. The service and included breakfast are unbeatable. The host was extremely kind and was focused on attention to detail. The night before each morning, I was able to choose the breakfast I wanted from a really nice list of options. I was able to put a time from 7-9am for it to be delivered to my room. I will miss that! The bed was extremely comfortable, tub was amazing, and terrace was a nice touch. The fridge was also stocked with water, beer, and soft drinks as well as a little welcome champagne bottle - all included. Thank you for making my stay memorable!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Testaccio turned out to be a great location. We were in the La Dolce Vita room which was immensely large, immaculately clean, and quiet. The bed was firm. Cherish was the staff person and she was very attentive and helpful. The inn is on the top floor of an apartment building. Some reviews suggest some guests might feel uncomfortable since it is not the most lit up place and is not picturesque, but we felt safe. We saw older women walking their dogs at night. The location was excellent. We arrived by taking the train from the airport to the Roma Ostiense station. It was a 5 minute walk. The inn is also a few minutes walk from the Piramide metro station. We also departed for our next stop in Naples by taking the train from Ostiense p, as recommended by Cherish, which went one stop to Roma Termini station where we changed for the nonstop to Naples. Also walked to the Colosseum, Circus Maximus, Basilica di San Giovanni, and Trastevere. Actually walked back from St Peter’s to the inn with a stop in Trastevere. It took about an hour. Great restaurants in the area. Highly recommend Pizzeria Remo if you like the thin crust style. The in has a good list of restaurants. Rome was crowded I think due to the Jubilee year. Recommend visiting the very nearby Protestant cemetery. Would stay again.

Excellent service and accommodations! Slightly off the hustle and bustle but close enough to excellent restaurants, train, and a 30-minute walk to the Coloseim and Roman Forum.
