I'm very grateful to have stayed here during our trip to Rome. The area is quiet and safe, with my restaurant options within walking distance in our neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods. Excellent location, close enough to major Roman attractions without the business. The service is great, we were able to drop our bags off with reception. We had the smaller non-suite room and it was still quite roomy for us! Comfortable bed and enough space to walk around and put your belongings. They even have a small table and dining chairs. You don't hear your neighbors much unless they're in the hallway. Rooms are very clean and modern. The breakfast is the best perk, with great coffee as well as numerous savory and sweet breakfast options (essential before a long day of exploring Rome). The staff went above and beyond for us, ensuring a comfortable stay and even helping us get our breakfast early when we had to leave early for our departure. I would highly recommend staying here!

Great value for the price, the breakfast and restocked mini fridge are exactly what you need as a tourist during summer high season. But above all the room service was truly nice, excellent and very attentive. The room we got was in need of some minor repairs but nothing that impacts comfort and it was cleaned impeccably every day. 40 min to the Colosseum, 1h to the Vatican, good connection by bus and tram into the city and about 15 min walk from a train station that connects to the major airport. Many decent late dinner eating opportunities in 10-30 min range, about 80% Italian food, the rest Asian or generic fast food.

Gorgeous little hotel in good location near Ostiense Railway station. Easy instructions for check inn. Lovely breakfast served in the room. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed was so comfy. Loved sitting on the terrace with a coffee. So quiet on a night with no noise from the building or street below. The staff, Cherish, was very friendly. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend.

Great place! Nice clean room with a private patio for a great price, 5 minute walk to the closest train station from which you can get to all parts of Rome, 30 minute walk to the Coliseum and other main attractions, HUGE breakfast included, and the AC was cold (always important in Italy in August!!!) We would recommend this place and would stay here again if we return to Rome!

We really enjoyed our stay here. We appreciated the location was quiet yet only a few metro stops/20 minute walk into the city center. The daily breakfast was nice to have on the terrace and we often enjoyed dinner in the neighborhood restaurants versus more touristy city center. The location was also easy to get to from the airport and it was easy to take the train to other parts of Italy from here.

We stayed at Althea Inn for 3 nights and found it perfect as a home base while visiting Rome. The staff are extremely welcoming and kindly agreed to our requests to leave our luggage at reception before our check-in upon arrival as well as after our check-out on the day we were leaving. We particularly loved the breakfasts, we felt like we were royalty! There is a QR code you scan the night before to order, and you have a lovely selection of juice, coffees, teas, pastries and breads, boiled eggs, and fruit that is delivered to your room the next morning. We had one morning where we needed to leave very early, and the staff kindly prepared a light packaged breakfast for us so we didn’t have to try finding food elsewhere. The amenities all work well (kettle, minifridge), and the water pressure and heat were very good for the shower. At night, the neighbourhood feels safe and quiet, and we had an incredibly easy time sleeping from the comfortable bedding, mattress, and quiet environment. The inn is a bit of a distance away from central Rome (ex: Roman Forum) but by using the metro we personally had no issues with the distance. We actually preferred being in a quieter area for our evenings, and there’s still plenty of beautiful sights in that area - we recommend checking out the botanical gardens! Thank you to everyone at Althea Inn, we would happily stay again and will be recommending you to our family and friends!

My husband and I recently stayed here for a couple nights! Firstly, the customer service is AMAZING!!! Secondly, we absolutely loved the terrace and daily breakfast service (see photos)! A couple notes - the entrance/location is a bit odd, but it is located on a quiet street and very close to a train line that takes you to a lot of the tourist areas as well as a train line for the FCO airport. This is a great affordable place to stay in Rome if you are visiting!!

We stayed 6 nights in Rome and our stay at Althea Inn was perfect. Though not in the city center, that was part of it's charm. Being near metro, bus, and tram stops, you were quickly in the historical area, but you could easily leave the tourists and experience a thriving neighborhood with restaurants and markets. The Inn's service was exceptional, recommending restaurants, arranging a driver to the airport, and letting us use their bicycles. Breakfast was delivered to your room, and there were many optins to choose from. I will definitely stay here, when in Rome.

Yelp
I don't give out five star reviews lightly, but this place is fantastic. Don't be fooled by the exterior of the building, the place, amenities, and management are top notch. I can't recommend this place enough. I was trying to find an inexpensive place to stay in Rome so I didn't have super high hopes, but man I was not disappointed. Great place.

Yelp
This bed and breakfast is a hidden gem! We first stayed in an air b&b in the Trastevere neighborhood, which was awesome, but wasn't available for our final night in Rome. After looking and looking, I came across this place and it was perfect! I wish we could have stayed longer. We didn't have too much time to explore the neighborhood but the street art was very cool and it was only two stops away from the Colosseum on the metro from the Piramide station (which is very close to the Inn). Luckily, when we arrived, our taxi driver pointed the Inn out to us or we may have missed it!! It looks like just another door to apartments but once you buzz in and take the elevator to the top floor, they have a number of rooms. The elevator is a plus as many places in Rome just have stairs. The staff are very accommodating and go out of their way to make guests comfortable. They messaged us to see what time we would arrive and allowed us an early check in. We were offered cappuccino upon our arrival and the breakfast was fantastic with fresh fruit, chocolate croissants, yogurt, ham and cheese on toast, coffee, tea, etc. Alessandro was very responsive and answered every question I had quickly on What's App. He even called a taxi for us at our departure. Rooms are decorated beautifully and our shower was amazing!! We felt very well taken care of. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again!

Yelp
Walking up to the outside you'll think you've made a mistake. It's a few rooms in an apartment building in a funky little neighborhood outside of the hustle and bustle of the city center. We absolutely loved the neighborhood. This place is dynamite. It's clean and well-secured. Alessandro is extremely kind and accommodating, even asking what you like for breakfast and offering recommendations for things to do around town. It's a very short walk to the metro also. It got a little noisy on the street at night sometimes but other than that, it couldn't have been better. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Enjoyed our stay here so much from the quality of service, to cleanliness, and hospitality it was unbeatable! The terrace was beautiful and comfortable. Breakfast delivered at our convince and was delicious. The location is perfect to get the real Rome experience. Don't miss out!

Yelp
First the location: When you see the area you are going to think this place is a dive BUT it's not! It's very nice and the place around it really isn't that bad. The taxi from the train station was about 15 euro and worth it for us. The Ostiense train station is super close, easy travel from here to everywhere and at the end of our trip; easy travel to the airport. The nearby Piramide has busses all over and easy taxi access. It's also a good landmark on the map! Near the hotel were many, many restaurants but the most interesting was Nibiru Spacebar (see my review) and Cucina Italiana Kebab (see my review). Alessandro was really nice and helpful. He's bilingual as well and always spoke English although we wanted to practice our Italian! It would have been good if Alessandro included more restaurants on his short list in the room, and a short description or map would be great, too. There was complimentary prosecco and maybe soda in the fridge (I forgot by now, we stayed in October!). Alessandro brought our breakfast to us every morning. I actually didn't like that! I would rather choose what I want that morning and maybe sit in a communal area, maybe even greeting other travelers... but this is the way it's done here. I would have preferred they did not come in our room each day and make the bed and put pillows back on the bed that we obviously put aside and didn't want on there... but again, this is their way. They didn't change the towels though, which was somewhat okay but we were there for four days so... it would have been nice to not dry off with a damp towel. The bathroom is open and clean with a bit of shelves to store stuff but could use better hooks or rods for towels. The patio was nice to see although it rained while we were there so we didn't use it! The room is roomy and comfy. It was surprisingly quiet. On our way to the nearby Via Del Gazometro we walked past some BEAUTIFUL street art! That whole area is very interesting. I would recommend this hotel and maybe Alessandro can tweak a few things to make it better. He certainly tried hard to please us though!
