Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt

Certainly one of the best establishments I have been to! The rooms are splendid - I loved that they were playing light classical music over the speakers when we entered. The breakfast is among the best I have had in a hotel. An last but not least the lake access is small, just a little stairs with a rail, (no beach :)) but perfect! Loved swimming there.

Amazing hotel with many things to do! Perfect definition of what a holiday should be. I spent my birthday there, and it was wonderful. The staff was amazing, especially Elias from the reception who surprised me with a cake and a card in the morning in breakfast. He also brought us Champagne later that day in the lobby. He made our whole stay extra special, so thank you Elias. We stayed 4 nights there and still there was much we didn't do. We will definitely be coming again soon!

We spent three nights here and had a lovely stay. On arrival we recieved a free upgrade to a maisonette room which was a pleasant surprise. The room was perfect. Front desk was excellent throughout (especially Carsen) and the valets/porters were really helpful with our car and arranging a car wash etc. thanks Ude.|The vibe of the hotel is great and has a nice atmosphere. Location and views are perfect. Breakfast superb snd we ate in two of the restaurants which were very good too (Überfahrt and Il Bacciola). We will definitely return. Thankyou.

Wonderful hotel in an excellent location with gorgeous views of the lake. The breakfast and food were excellent. The afternoon tea was very luxurious and intimate. The rooms were excellent especially the lake view ones. One of the hotels in the region. The spa was very modern and extremely relaxing. The lobby is huge and has a wonderful panoramic views of lake with pleasant skylight floor to ceiling windows.

When we pulled in, the place was crowded with cameras as the VfB Stuttgart football team had just arrived! Yup, actual celebrities. Despite the crowd, an attentive hotel attendant came directly to our car, helped with our luggage, and parked it in the garage. Our room wasn’t quite ready, but we made ourselves comfortable in the lobby and ordered from the hotel kitchen. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and yes, priced on the higher side, but fitting for a 5-star establishment. As a sweet anniversary touch, the hotel gifted us two drink vouchers for the bar! Once our room was ready, a front desk staff member personally found us, gave a brief yet informative introduction to the hotel’s amenities and walked us up to our room while pointing out the amenities. Our luggage was promptly brought up afterward. Inside, we were greeted with complimentary minibar items, a beautiful cake with small treats, a chilled bottle of champagne, and a letter congratulating us. The room itself was spotless, serene, and a super comfy bed. Each day, we received 2 new water bottles, placed outside our door when the “Do Not Disturb” sign was up. Breakfast was another highlight, an expansive buffet with everything from hot dishes and cold cuts to fresh fruits, cheeses, pastries, and cereal. The freshly pressed orange juice hit the spot, and the coffee was exceptional. The hotel’s wellness area didn’t disappoint either. The indoor pool was spacious and relaxing, complemented by a great hot tub. The gym was surprisingly large for a hotel setup: well-equipped with a bench press, cable machines, a full rack of dumbbells (up to 30kg), pull-up and dip bar, and plenty of cardio machines. There was also a smaller outdoor pool and a private beach area by the lake, complete with loungers and discreet access to the water. Upon checkout, the staff helped us book a restaurant for the road, and sent us off with complimentary water bottles and snacks for our drive home, a thoughtful final touch to an already exceptional stay. And yes, we will definitely come back again!

We had a wonderful stay at the Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt near Tegernsee 🌊. From start to finish, everything felt polished and welcoming. The Italian restaurant was a real highlight 🍝—delicious dishes, beautifully presented, and a wine list that made us linger a little longer than planned 🍷. Our bedroom was spacious, elegantly designed, and incredibly comfortable—perfect for unwinding after a day by the lake. The staff were attentive and helpful throughout our stay, striking the right balance between warm hospitality and professionalism 🙌. We also appreciated the large underground parking garage 🚗, which made arrivals and departures easy and stress-free. A fantastic hotel in a stunning location—highly recommended! ⭐️

I was looking forward to a peaceful, rejuvenating “mummy day” to unwind. Instead, I was met with cold and unwelcoming service. Several times I tried to order food, but as a Black guest, I was repeatedly ignored. When I asked for a menu, it was tossed toward me by a staff member, an act that felt humiliating and blatantly disrespectful. Based on how I was treated compared to other guests, I believe I was singled out because of my race. What should have been a rejuvenating experience instead left me feeling discriminated against, humiliated, and unwelcome. I left deeply hurt. No guest should ever have to experience this.

Totally restful place. Great service, awesome breakfast and host one of the best Michelin meals I have ever had. Room is big and comfortable.

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. Located in the town of Rottach-Egern on the lake Tegernsee, this is pure luxury in a very relaxed surrounding. The town is a bit of the playground for the rich and famous and is lined with boutiques, antique shops, art galleries and fashion galore. This hotel is home to the only three Michelin star restaurant in Bavaria and unfortunately, it was closed for annual holidays during our visit. That alone will bring me back here again. There are three other restaurants here and a nice lobby bar. There is a spa here that is huge and very well equipped. There are multiple sauna & steam rooms (note: this is a nude area only), swimming pool with a kids pool, hot and cold tubs, relaxation room, a library, a cafe, big gym, yoga/aerobics room and, a full service spa with a large menu of treatments. I absolutely loved the spa and saunas. You can also go to the spa for day use but, you need to book it in advance, if you are not staying at the hotel. The rooms are very well appointed and functional. The beds are super comfortable and some of the rooms have a balcony. The bathrooms are well appointed and you get all the supplies you need in there. Attention to detail is very good. If you want English paper in the morning it's not a problem. Our room also had a tablet that you could use to order food, book spa and restaurants, information, extend or change your reservation and request late checkout. It was a wonderful addition to the room. Wifi was great and available everywhere in the hotel. Pets are allowed for an extra charge and they had a bed and a big bowl of food waiting for the arrival of Samy, our dog. His eyes were lit up the moment he walked into the room ;-)) Note that dogs are not allowed in the restaurants and the spa area. Dog sitting services are available on request and can be booked at reception. The thing that made this place super special for me was the service. It was fantastic and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. This was common throughout the hotel and the restaurants. That alone will bring me back here. The finest service I have experienced in a hotel in Germany to date. We loved it and whilst it's not cheap, I would come back here in a heartbeat. Such places are hard to find in Europe. The overall experience made us want more and we almost considered extending for another night, however, our schedule did not permit it.

Excellent gourmet cusine at the Althoff Seehotel restaurant! All fresh baked bread, lovely selection of olive oil, and freshly prepared seasoned food. Definitely will return.

Every aspect of this hotel deserves a five star rating. The room was large and very well appointed with a balcony and beautiful view. The staff was extremely friendly and attended to every need seemingly before the service was even required. The location offers spectacular views and just a short walk to many other excellent food and shopping experiences. However, before dining anywhere else you must try the gourmet restaurant. Definitely one of the best meals I've had anywhere on the planet. Creative, delicious, and as appealing to the eye as it was to the appetite.
