The hotel is beautifully located right on Lake Tegernsee and stands out for its exceptional hospitality experience. The rooms are generously sized, with lovely balconies — our lake view was simply stunning. Service is truly benchmark-setting: from car reception to front desk, breakfast service and even shoe cleaning, every interaction felt warm, attentive, and professional. Breakfast is excellent. Same is true for the restaurants. Two minor points come down to personal taste: the indoor spa feels somewhat dated and lacks a real panorama — more enclosed than expected — though renovation plans are underway. Also, while the rooms are comfortable, the bathrooms feature a very classic marble-and-gold style that may not appeal to everyone, even if well maintained. Overall, an exceptional hotel with character, charm, and top-tier service.

Absolutely stunning in all ways; having stayed in luxury hotels across the world in the most exotic locations, the service experienced here really is top notch. Every little detail is seen and observed; cigarettes were on the side of my bed side table, so after the first service an ashtray has been put into the room with matches. Heated floors in the beautiful bathrooms and the room staff organise everything very well. Front staff were of high quality; we asked to change room as wanted one higher up and with lake view; accommodated with a smile. We have two treatments booked today at the SPA and know already they’ll be excellent. Only downfall is paying €20 a night for parking. Just feels quite cheap when spending €1250 over two days excluding food and drink to then pay to keep your car. Just feels slightly class-less. All else is excellent.

Highly recommend their SPA, with true experts offering the Julisis gold/silver treatments and great massages. we also love their amazing burger from local beef. a must have, a true 5* hotel experience where you can relax and renew -situated on the shores of the magical Tegernsee.

An excellent hotel from which to explore the hiking trails of the Tegernsee region. The rooms are large, comfortable, and well appointed. They are also quiet and many rooms have lovely views of either the lake or surrounding mountains. The breakfast is truly superb and will fuel you through to the evening when there is a choice of restaurants - though it may be advisable to book these before arrival. The staff are all friendly and very professional. Its a true luxury hotel but has a very relaxed atmosphere: there were no disapproving looks when I arrived back in the evening with muddy boots and looking dishevelled. There is a proper swimming pool - unlike those in many hotels in which they are no more than glorified paddling pools. The gym is well appointed for cardio, weights, and pilates.

I had such a wonderful stay at Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt. The atmosphere here is calm and unhurried — everything moves at a peaceful rhythm. The staff are gentle, attentive, and always ready to help without ever being intrusive. Every morning and evening, a fresh bottle of water was waiting in my room — such a thoughtful touch. The spa area is perfect for real relaxation: swimming, sauna, and wellness treatments all surrounded by views of the lake and mountains. On sunny days, guests can go biking, kayaking, or even paragliding over the beautiful Tegernsee. There are also many great dining options, both within and around the hotel. It’s truly an ideal place for a quiet yet luxurious holiday in Germany. I would love to return someday.

Certainly one of the best establishments I have been to! The rooms are splendid - I loved that they were playing light classical music over the speakers when we entered. The breakfast is among the best I have had in a hotel. An last but not least the lake access is small, just a little stairs with a rail, (no beach :)) but perfect! Loved swimming there.

We spent three nights here and had a lovely stay. On arrival we recieved a free upgrade to a maisonette room which was a pleasant surprise. The room was perfect. Front desk was excellent throughout (especially Carsen) and the valets/porters were really helpful with our car and arranging a car wash etc. thanks Ude.|The vibe of the hotel is great and has a nice atmosphere. Location and views are perfect. Breakfast superb snd we ate in two of the restaurants which were very good too (Überfahrt and Il Bacciola). We will definitely return. Thankyou.

Expensive, but the hotel gives an old vide, and In reality many things are wornout - like drapes, shower handles. lots of gold plating, but the true quality is low. Comparing to other hotels in Leaders and in Tyrol area, this hotel falls far behind. When we visited, half the SPA was under construction, and so overloaded and we couldn't really use it. Even the quality of the towels is low - they are quite wornout from endless usage. Not what you'd expect from a hotel at this cost level.

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. Located in the town of Rottach-Egern on the lake Tegernsee, this is pure luxury in a very relaxed surrounding. The town is a bit of the playground for the rich and famous and is lined with boutiques, antique shops, art galleries and fashion galore. This hotel is home to the only three Michelin star restaurant in Bavaria and unfortunately, it was closed for annual holidays during our visit. That alone will bring me back here again. There are three other restaurants here and a nice lobby bar. There is a spa here that is huge and very well equipped. There are multiple sauna & steam rooms (note: this is a nude area only), swimming pool with a kids pool, hot and cold tubs, relaxation room, a library, a cafe, big gym, yoga/aerobics room and, a full service spa with a large menu of treatments. I absolutely loved the spa and saunas. You can also go to the spa for day use but, you need to book it in advance, if you are not staying at the hotel. The rooms are very well appointed and functional. The beds are super comfortable and some of the rooms have a balcony. The bathrooms are well appointed and you get all the supplies you need in there. Attention to detail is very good. If you want English paper in the morning it's not a problem. Our room also had a tablet that you could use to order food, book spa and restaurants, information, extend or change your reservation and request late checkout. It was a wonderful addition to the room. Wifi was great and available everywhere in the hotel. Pets are allowed for an extra charge and they had a bed and a big bowl of food waiting for the arrival of Samy, our dog. His eyes were lit up the moment he walked into the room ;-)) Note that dogs are not allowed in the restaurants and the spa area. Dog sitting services are available on request and can be booked at reception. The thing that made this place super special for me was the service. It was fantastic and the staff were so welcoming and friendly. This was common throughout the hotel and the restaurants. That alone will bring me back here. The finest service I have experienced in a hotel in Germany to date. We loved it and whilst it's not cheap, I would come back here in a heartbeat. Such places are hard to find in Europe. The overall experience made us want more and we almost considered extending for another night, however, our schedule did not permit it.

Excellent gourmet cusine at the Althoff Seehotel restaurant! All fresh baked bread, lovely selection of olive oil, and freshly prepared seasoned food. Definitely will return.

Every aspect of this hotel deserves a five star rating. The room was large and very well appointed with a balcony and beautiful view. The staff was extremely friendly and attended to every need seemingly before the service was even required. The location offers spectacular views and just a short walk to many other excellent food and shopping experiences. However, before dining anywhere else you must try the gourmet restaurant. Definitely one of the best meals I've had anywhere on the planet. Creative, delicious, and as appealing to the eye as it was to the appetite.
