The Ultimate Guide to Dining and Drinking in Fredericksburg, Texas | Eater Austin

"Brewery that hews to traditional German styles—Kölsch, Hefeweizen, and lagers—operating in a castle-like facility with a biergarten atmosphere that emphasizes convivial outdoor drinking and Germanic brewing heritage." - Brittany Britto Garley

The chicken schnitzel was excellent—beautifully prepared, flavorful, and reminiscent of a German-style chicken parmesan. The overall quality of the food was commendable, and the decor contributed to a pleasant and inviting dining environment. That said, the service was notably slow, which detracted from an otherwise enjoyable experience. With improved efficiency in service, this restaurant has the potential to deliver a truly outstanding visit.

This place is amazing!!! We did get there pretty late on our last day in Fredericksburg. They closed at 6:00 pm and we got there about 4:00 pm. I went with my wife and two daughters (9 and 14 yrs). They absolutely loved everything (the food and the place). We sat to have dinner and was waited on by Aaron, who by the way was outstanding. He was extremely friendly and had sooo much information to share regarding the property and the beers as well as the food. I had the chicken schnitzel, my 14 yr old had the Fish and CHIPs (WOW!!!), my little one had the kids Burger and my wife the cesar salad with chicken. The Schnitzel was delicious. The limón sauce was amazing. My daughters fish and chips were the best. I've had fish and chips in London and they did not beat the ones they servir here at Altstadt. Highly, highly recommend. Hope to come back to enjoy the whole property, (adults only...)

Went with some friends for a weekend trip and this was our 1st spot! We had some lager, food and some good laughs! We ate upstairs, with a live band. The food was good, the beer was great and the sangria was the best I have ever had! Went to the basement for a low key vibe and Jenna was amazing! We had such a good time we went back later that evening! We will definitely be coming back!

Google
Just visited on the weekend and wanted to check this place out. They have a really nice and large set up. Beer is really good and plentiful for local consumption and buy to go so if you're going it's a good time to stock up. We did the flights and tried a few apps and nothing disappointed. We did the tour and if you're going be prepared for a longer one than most breweries - think hour plus. Overall if you're in the area and like beer this is a mist visit spot.

Google
I stumbled upon Altstadt Brewery on my way to Fredericksburg and it was a wonderful surprise! The place is very charming, cozy, and welcoming. They have a great variety of beers, all really good, and also some snacks and food. We ordered a few bites, they weren’t amazing, but definitely acceptable. I highly recommend this spot for anyone heading to Fredericksburg; it’s worth stopping by. I’ll definitely be coming back!

If you’re searching for the BEST Ruben sandwich around, look no further! It was hands down my favorite ever! Hubby got the roast beef dip! Very good too! 100% scratch kitchen and farm to table fresh! Portions are HUGE so come ready to share! Beer was crisp, cold and very tasty! We will definitely be back!

Came here with my family (kid friendly) for lunch during our visit to Fredricksburg. Beautiful inside and out. The food was delicious and the girls loved the tractor museum.

Google
Altstadt Brewery, which is located on US-290 in Fredericksburg, TX, is a great spot for a bite + a brew! :-) I recently visited for the first time with a group of friends, and we had a lovely experience. The space is so beautiful, and it's very expansive (with lots of areas available to explore)! There is a great outdoor patio, indoor dining area (with TVs present, which is great for during football season), downstairs bar + lounge area. At certain times, they have live music offerings available on the brewery grounds, too! Overall, the space is clean, well-kept, and the staff are very kind & efficient. They have a large craft beer selection on tap, and a variety of canned craft beers available for purchase to-go. In terms of food, they make a great Peach Bruschetta (it's perfect for sharing). Altstadt's Bavarian Pretzel is a classic, and it's very delicious! This is a great spot - highly recommend!

Yelp
Brewery #373 This place is like the Biltmore House of breweries. It's beautiful and huge! If they didn't have a big sign out front, you definitely would think you are in the wrong place. We came in just to get some beer, but it had more of a restaurant feel than traditional brewery. We sat in the bar area, and whenever I go to a new brewery, I always get a flight to try multiple beers. Altstadt has flights but they are prefixed, you can't make your own. Slight irritation but nothing major. I ended up getting a more German style flight with a Kolsch, Hefe, Lager, and Amber. They were all good with the Hefe being my favorite. I am usually an IPA fan, and they had one, but I was not able to try it. We weren't that hungry, so we just ordered some fries with beer cheese. These were crisp little pillows of heaven, and the cheese was a perfect dip. The menu was heaven on German food, but there's a wide range with some upscale items as well. The place was probably too fancy for me and my Homer Simpson hoodie, but they were still accommodating. Next time I will wear better clothes and have dinner but let me pick my own flight please.

Yelp
Known as the "Castle" Altstadt Brewery was a very cool place to visit. We got there right when the opened to enjoy another German lunch at the Restaurant at the Brewery. The restaurant had the old luxurious look with lots of wood. I ordered the Jägerschnitzel and Altstadt beer from the tap. The service was great and no problem parking outside. The Jägerschnitzel was prepared different from what I had on Main Street in Fredericksburg, but still had great flavor and prepared very well. After eating we explored the rest of the brewery and found a large tap room with big windows to see the formation tanks. There was both indoor seating and outdoor. Souvenirs can be purchased here and took home a six pack and beer glass. Its was definitely a place to stop on our way home.

Yelp
A much try! We heard good things about this place and got a couple of beers and lunch on our way out of Fredricksburg. Couldn't not recommend more the beer was great and the food was wonderful! Will definitely be back. It was cold when we went but the outside seating looked like a great area. Service was great.

Yelp
We made a pit stop on our way to Fredericksburg and loved the pretzels, charcuterie board and beer. They have 4 different spaces to choose from, bar, restaurant, music hall or the outdoor patio. Excellent location for large groups. It was a hot day, but we sat outside. The only thing I missed from the menu was Obatzda.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
What an amazing establishment! We've lived in the area for over 4-years. Always pass this place. Never stop. (Waiting for all the bugs to get worked out). What a cool place! Like a castle. The customer service was superb right when walking in. We sat outside and had several cold Pilsner beers and great food!
google avatar

Mike E.

Yelp
It's okay. Very corporate-y. Not the usual ambiance and setup for a brewery. It starts when you enter (actually, you'll know something is up when you see the chateau-like building from the road). Walking in it looks like a high end hotel with a desk (?) which is I guess where you can pay for beer to go and apparel. I sat at a bar (not the one in the restaurant- that's only for people eating ) and saw a guy had a flight. I told the bartender I'll get a flight and she pointed me to a corner of the menu and said "here are our flights ". What the heck? I've never been to a place where you don't make your own flight up. If you can do this here she didn't tell me. Of their three flights each had two beers I would never order or downright dislike. I'll be back to Fredericksburg but definitely not stopping at this weird place.

Yelp
We returned again, I think this was our third visit. We just love this place. The food is fantastic. We tried the fish and chips this time and they were amazing. Definitely recommend this place! We come here every visit.
google avatar

Ryan S.

Yelp
We came here on a whim. First time and it went really well. We sampled several items. We had the pretzel, Bavarian sausage plate, kids cheese burger, house chips and something else with meat and cheese. Beware of the mustard. A dab goes a long way. The server was polite and attentive even though he was very busy and even making drinks. The ambiance was kind of like an upscale lodge. They do brewery tours which we may book next time.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
Alstadt is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. On Wednesday we sat in the bar area, but there is a great area outside to sit. Menu looked good, but we were just there for refreshments. A few Shiners and an Espresso Martini was a very nice way to watch part of a football game.
google avatar

Elise M.

Yelp
Love everything about Altstadt! We decided to sit in the bar area, enjoy a flight, and try the charcuterie board. The beer was delicious, especially the peach brew, and we loved the charcuterie. Great atmosphere and a very cool building. Definitely stop by and take a break from the wineries. This would be a great place to sit outside and enjoy a brew or two when the weather gets cooler. Cheers!

Yelp
When we booked our trip to Fredericksburg, Altstadt Brewery was a "must see." It is about a 12 minute drive from the downtown area, but it is worth the drive just to see the structure alone! It's not every day that one comes across a Bavarian castle in the Texas countryside. The property is stunning and so clean. They offer "taproom exclusive" beers and have a nice selection of unique souvenirs. Their beers are also only $3 a pint during happy hour! We decided to eat there as well. The food was great with some unique offerings. Our server was friendly and informative. There was a little bit of a delay at times, but that could have been to the sheer size of the property. Be sure to check out the gorgeous back patio with stunning views of Hill Country.

Yelp
Awesome authentic German ambience and feel. I love the friendly service and beer and wine selection!!!

Yelp
A good lil brewery in Fredericksburg. The pretzel was pretty good. Really chill atmosphere with spacious seating.

Yelp
I always enjoy stopping in to Altstadt Brewery when I'm in Fredericksburg. Their food and appetizers are amazing and their beer and drink options are just as good. I especially love their sangria and the jumbo pretzel with beer mustard. The building itself is palatial with an old world design and so many spacious seating options that make for a great time. They have a huge dining hall and outdoor patio area. I enjoy sitting in the bar area especially for happy hour but their restaurant for a larger meal option is also warm and inviting. The ambiance and the food make it a great addition to the winery stops in Fredericksburg.
google avatar

Alyssa Marie H.

Yelp
Came here on a girls weekend trip. Food and drinks were good, but you really come for the sights. Just look at the pictures I took! I was full on how the mood and the light decorated the fantastical German castle experience.
google avatar

Renita W.

Yelp
Big place! Live music and good food and beer! This was one of our stops on the wine trail as we enjoyed a yummy lunch and bought some of their beer to take home. It's a must stop as you are trying wines to break it up
google avatar

Yelp
We we spent the weekend in Fredericksburg to celebrate a friends birthday. There was 12 of us. We had made a dinner reservation for 7:45pm, however how the day at wineries turned out we got to Altstadt at 6:45pm and hostess was gracious and helpful to get us seated early. Menu has various options, everyone enjoyed their food. Beer flight great! Service was really good for a large party and easy to split up check.
google avatar

Sarah F.

Yelp
Incredible service and entrees. Be sure to order the chicken schnitzel. It's the best food I've had in a long time. The building is really interesting. I'd recommend spending time in the beer hall or on the patio. The pretzel was a delicious appetizer, although I preferred the ones from Fredericksburg Brewing. There's also a pulled pork bruschetta type appetizer, which I wasn't crazy about, but the entree and service kept the fifth star.

Yelp
This place was cool. My Texas family made a special stop so I can grab a quick beer and check this place out. Huge different areas and a tractor museum outside...really interesting place and I hope I get back here again for a longer visit.
google avatar

Yelp
I cannot say enough great things about this place. The service was top notch as our waitress was on point with the menu. Nice open area with spacious settings in which you can enjoy great food with your friends and family. From the pork belly bites to the main course and through the dessert, the flavors were tremendous. Our guest enjoyed what they ordered as well but I didn't get photos. They did let me sample the sea bass Oscar which had such an amazing sauce that really made it all come together. We settled on the Black Forest cheesecake because not everyone liked apples in their dessert but I assure you I will be getting APFELSTRUDEL TATIN on my next visit.
google avatar

Zach H.

Yelp
Honestly was a good experience. It's a tourist spot - so go in being patient and you'll have a good time as it will be busy. We went for a late lunch, put our name down for a table, and then grabbed a flight of beers from the lobby bar. The flight was tasty and decent priced. The food itself was savage! The jagersnitzel was soooo good with the sauce and mushrooms. Mashed potato underneath was well seasoned and delicious. The sausage on a stick was also very good. Totally worth a visit for some variety from the vineyards!

Yelp
If you are visiting Fredericksburg its probably worth the short drive to the outskirts of town to check out Altstadt Brewery. The good: Great building and property, has lots of inside and outside space, good parking, and an awesome German style building. Great selection of merchandise. large menu and beer selection. Family friendly and good for large groups. The not so good: service is always just ok. food is not cheap and for the most part is just average. Your best bet is ordering the large boards so there is a selection of things. I just find that in general the food is closer to festival quality and not restaurant quality. They close early most nights 8 or 9pm, not a late night spot. Beers are fine, There are a few I like and a few that I would not order again. Comment on the food. In general the German food in Fredericksburg is mid at best. I would say that Altstadt is the best I have had there and if you are really wanting German food go here for it and not the overcrowded overpriced places in town. In general I like Altstadt even with its flaws its still worth a visit if you are in that part of Texas.

Yelp
We visited on two separate days with 2 very different experiences. First was at night and we were on the pub side of the complex, but in the back outside. Ordered on my phone through the online system and paid. Food came out in a decent time and drinks were ready quite quick. I just didn't realize that I had to go inside to pick it up at the bar by myself. Not much service on the pub side, so tip as you see fit. Charcuterie board and pretzel are mediocre at best. Beer was tasty but nothing to write home about. The second visit me made was for lunch the next day. We were seated outside since we had a lil pup with us. Nice, spacious covered seating with s relaxing view. On this part of the complex, the food really shines. I HIGHLY recommend the Jägerschnitzel and Das Reuben Sandwich. Both were fantastic! I'd definitely visit again for those two dishes. All together 3/5 for pub side and 4/5 for restaurant dining side.

Yelp
Alstdat Brewery totally hit the spot! I went with some friends and we had such a great time. I ordered the flammkuchen for my meal and it was delicious, crispy, flavorful, just the right amount of toppings. My husband got the Bavarian sausage plate and he loved it; so full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere there is really chill and beautiful, cozy seating, and perfect for catching up with friends. Plus, our server was amazing! super attentive and friendly without being over the top. Made the whole experience even better. If you're looking for a spot to relax, eat great food, and enjoy some quality time with friends, Alstdat Brewery is where you want to be. We're definitely coming back soon!

Thomas W.

Yelp
Stopped in here last week for my bday and my wife and I had such a great time. Deedee was our waiters and she was so fun and friendly to talk to. Not only was the food good and along with the beer but the best treat being there was we got to take a tour of the brewery, what such a treat. I would definitely recommend this brewery for anyone passing by. FYI it looks like a castle outside you can't miss it off of 290
google avatar

Marci A.

Yelp
The vibes felt off here but it was the patrons not the place itself (it's full of old people who would just stare at a bunch of younger people drinking) but the beer was good and the bartender was kind. The bathrooms are also super beautiful, we didn't eat anything here, we just drank one and left.
google avatar

Mike

Yelp
The place is beautiful The food was great The service was wonderful We are out of town from Dallas and wanted to try something different. I had the chicken sandwich and it was amazing - I was sad when I ate the last bite! My wife had the schnitzel and she couldn't finish it cause it was a good portion but she loved every bite! This place is beautiful and all the servers were respectful and attentive. Thank you for serving my wife and myself
google avatar

Yelp
I strongly recommend this stop if you're in that neck of the woods. Beer, food and service and atmosphere are fantastic.

Yelp
My friends and I decided to throw a brewery into the mix as we made our way down 290 in a party bus in what was supposed to be a winery weekend. Driving past it on the way to our first stop, we all agreed this place needed to happen on our way back into town. First off, this place is absolutely beautiful to look at. They make German style beer in this German inspired building. They got lots to do here and you can easily spend some time here and not get bored. They have brewery tours, a taproom, a restaurant, a beautiful biergarten with scenic views of the hill country, a grand hall for live music and private events, a tractor museum, and my personal favorite...the Rathskellar. What's the Rathskellar you ask? Head down the beautiful spiral staircase right when you walk in down to the basement and enter into this beautiful, plush lounge area. They have a bar down there with lots of cozy, red leather couches and chairs. They have TVs down there to watch sports. That's my kind of vibe when I want to enjoy beer and sports. We were on a mission to try as many spots as possible, so I was going to make my one drink count. I went with the 290 Jitters Pecan Coffee Stout. It was a nice change from the wine we were drinking all day. The pecan and coffee notes were definitely there and was an excellent sipping beer. From what I heard, everyone enjoyed what they had here. We ended up spending a good amount of time here and it was well worth it. I would love to come back and try the German food as well as their other beer offerings. I am definitely a fan of Altstadt and will be back!

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place since a girls trip a couple years ago. Husband and I went this past week. Food: The pretzel . I was so excited for the pretzel. SHAPED like a pretzel - 10/10. SALTED like a pretzel - 10/10. Buttery glaze like a pretzel - 10/10. Taste like a pretzel - 1/10. Not dense, not pretzel consistency. More like a dinner roll, shaped like a pretzel. Soft, pillow-y. Not at all what I was expecting. Not like any other pretzel I've ever had. HUGE disappointment. The cheese sauce and horseradish mustard were good though - though weird on the pretzel shaped dinner roll. Chicken Schnitzel was good, but definitely missing something, flavor wise. The Ribeye was cooked to order, but husband wasn't fond of the seasoning used on the steak, or the sweet seasoning on the fries. Service - the service was just plain awful. We were there around 3 in the afternoon. 4 tables with people at them. Multiple waitstaff walking around. Our food was dropped off and our waitress never returned to check in on us. Water glasses were empty. All the way empty. Never refilled our glasses. Didn't even ask. I had to ask for a refill when she dropped off the check, so I could choke down my last few pieces of my chicken. So we had our check. We waited. And waited. And waited. And waited some more. After ALMOST 30 MINUTES, we were done waiting and ready to go. So I walked up to the front and asked a random person to please run our tab. I commented that we must have been forgotten. No apologies, she went behind the bar to run our tab. I tipped way more than I should have, based on the service we received. $100 meal - 0/10. It's on our DNR (do not return) list.
google avatar

Raquel P.

Yelp
I thought the beer, food, and atmosphere were all good. Our waitress was kind. I did the flagship flight of beer and liked them all. The pork belly bites weren't anything special, I wouldn't order them again. The jagerschnitzel was delicious with the mushroom cream sauce. The dessert was enough to share 4 ways. Really cool bar area downstairs and the outside garden is serene. Will definitely visit again when I'm in the area.

Yelp
We came for Oktoberfest and were pleasantly surprised by the food and service! We had a big group and were seated outside and would highly recommend it!
google avatar

Candace G.

Yelp
This place is awesome! The beer, the food, the service, the venue, etc. all of it is 10/10! Myself and 3 others visited this place on a Sunday afternoon and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There was also someone playing live music inside the venue which was also playing over the speakers outside which was a nice touch. I'd definitely recommend a stop at this place on your trip to fredricksburg!
google avatar

Mike R.

Yelp
While this place is on the list of dog friendly places to visit in Fredericksburg, once you get here you find out that's not actually true. If this is the case, they should be taken off the list, because they're not worth stopping by with the dog. Edit: the answer to my review is a carbon copy cut and paste. I'm not sure how they can "make things right" other than making sure they're removed from the pet friendly list.

Chris R.

Yelp
Amazing building in the hill country. Good selection of beers. I only had the pretzel so I can't comment on the other food. The pretzel was not like a classic German/Bavarian pretzel. It tasted more like sweet white bread. One issue I have is that the flight of beer comes in 4 small (5 oz) plastic cups and costs $12 for 20 oz of beer while 1 Liter (33.8 oz) coats $11. Not exactly a deal since it's basically a sample that should entice you to buy a bigger beer after. $6 Pint / $11 Liter / $12 Flight / $20 Pitcher
google avatar

Lesley G.

Yelp
Been here a few times. Just visited again this past weekend on July 4th. Good German food options. I had the Chicken Schnitzel. The peach bruschetta was really light and fresh! A nice simple appetizer to share with a larger group. Peach Radler Beer was very good also. Can't go wrong with the big pretzel either!
google avatar

Tom L.

Yelp
Overall this place was great, the food was excellent and the atmosphere / decor inside reminds you of stepping back into the late 19th century. The service was good overall. If you get sick of the winery's head here... you won't regret it!

Lisa L.

Yelp
I've added menu photos as there are some new additions. We started out with Fred's peach salad and it was full of wonderful fresh peaches. The small salad was actually large enough to share. The Bavarian sausage plate also had generous portions and all the plates we ordered were large enough to share or take home leftovers. The sauerkraut was very fresh and much better than what you can get out of a jar. The mustard sauce was tart and complemented the fresh sausages beautifully. The beef bourguignon had a wonderful crust from the braising and wonderfully flavorful and tender inside. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. Highly recommended! The roast beef dip was delicious and consisted of 2 six inch baguettes which could easily feed 2 people. We ended with the lemon curd tart with white peach meringue that was not only lovely to look at but delicious to enjoy! The ambiance was amazing and reservations are recommended.

Yelp
We popped in here for a late afternoon lunch/early dinner on a Sunday. It wasn't terribly busy because of the timing and our waitress was sweet but I think she was overworked because we didn't see much of her. The place is HUGE and really cute. The food was so good. 3 people ordered the chicken schnitzel and all loved it. My daughter and I shared the fish and chips and a flatbread and both were yummy but honestly we didn't need both so we ended up taking most of the flatbread home. The one disappointing thing was the pretzel. It looked amazing and this is a German restaurant so we had high hopes but oddly it isn't actually a pretzel, just a very light fluffy bread in the shape of a pretzel.

Bonnie R.

Yelp
Went here for the beer and lunch. Food is overpriced. I had the "Flammkuchen" which was a basic flatbread with its German name, it was OK, but I was also very hungry. Spouse had a cup of chili with a small pretzel, that was very good. But let's talk about the beers - the only reason to go here. We had the Flagship flight and the Seasonal/Hill Country flight. Most interested in the Hefe and the Schwarz. All the beers were well made but the Hefe and Schwarz were exceptional. Decided to purchase a 6 of the Schwarz but there were none out for purchase. The guys at the front desk were VERY helpful - went back to their coolers and put a 6 together for me. If you go, get seated in the patio behind the main entrance and NOT the patio on the side (too blah). Be sure to walk thru all the public areas and try to take the free 4 pm tour. There was a LOT of $$ put into the building and the brewery itself. If they don't have the beers, you want on-site, go to the HEB grocery in Fredricksburg.

Chip M.

Yelp
Fabulous structure, great German beers and superb food. Love stopping by when in the area. I think this is a must to take visitors and it for a great day trip. Having both beer and wine is also a big draw. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We were so excited to finally visit Alstadt since we've hit almost every major brewery in Texas except this one. Walking up to the entrance from the parking lot at sunset made for a wonderful view. The line at the main bar was out the door. Good sign, right?! Wrong! The guy at the front desk told us it's the only bar serving drinks. There was another bar but that was for the restaurant and runners. How does a place this massive only have one bar for patrons to order from directly without using QR codes? Since the line was so long, we figured we would walk around and see if there was another bar or seating area. It was so pretty at first glance but the place was so dirty. None of the outside tables had been cleared off. We saw piled up dirty dishes on some outside stairs and walkways. We lucked out and grabbed two open seats at the restaurant bar (that only serves the four bar seats since they mostly make drinks for the runners). After a flight of Taproom Exclusive beer, we ordered food (Chicken Schnitzel and Bavarian Sausage plate). The staff told us the kitchen was backed up and food would take 45 mins or so I appreciated the heads up but lots of people seemed displeased. I heard so many complaints about service and wait times around us. The food was just okay. It certainly wasn't a true schnitzel and I thought there would be 3 different types of sausage on the plate but I got 4 of one style and two of another. Again, it was just okay. Even though I find the beer in stores to be mediocre, I thought the taproom would have something amazing. Everything was "just okay" except for the cleanliness. It was so dirty everywhere. While I'm glad we visited, we won't go back. They need to train staff to be more friendly and clean up the space. They really deserve a 2.5 overall.

Yelp
Despite it not being very busy, it took a little while for us to get seated and to get our drinks and food. However, our waitress was very sweet and accommodating! I never drink beer but I really enjoy the peach one, it's very light and slightly sweet. I had the chicken schnitzel and it was so crispy and delicious, the potatoes were so buttery and lemony. The jägerschnitzel was also very tasty, but I prefer chicken over beef. Our appetizer (flammkuchen) was good, but I'd probably get a different one next time as this one was mostly just bread and cheese.
google avatar

Angel M.

Yelp
We've always enjoyed the food and the ambiance at Altstadt but the service has changed for the worst. The use of the forced digital ordering really made the service impersonal. There was no one to tell us about the specials or other pertinent details on what's included with certain menu items. Luckily I saw someone get the soup special before I ordered an additional pretzel. It took a bit for us to get our initial order completed and then they still brought out our appetizer with our main meal. Oh and we are technology savvy but it doesn't need to be everywhere!!

This is the perfect place if you're wanting upscale casual with the perfect touch of rustic. We had Chris as our server for our bachelor/bachelorette trip and he was nothing short of amazing. He offered us suggestions when we were unsure of our cravings and was so kind and sweet. I have been out a lot in FBG and never experienced a server so excited to help us kick off our night! We will absolutely be coming back as the food was fabulous and the drinks were delicious! You MUST TRY the steak frites and charcuterie board with Chris' suggestion of extra bread on the side!!!

Yelp
Having traveled from Ohio and having visited a number of breweries around the country. I was excited to try the Altstadt brewery and super excited as I looked at the beer list to do a flight to be able to taste a number of the ones that interested me however much to my surprise I found the flights were dictated and the pairings were not beers I would have put together so I ended up ordering one of the three choices and found only one beer that I would have maybe drank later it's too bad that they don't allow you the flexibility to choose beers that you'd like to taste I think that's a failure I think they should looked at that thank you.

Yelp
Upscale Brewery with tours and a restaurant. I had the Rueben which was fabulous. The service is Top Drawer and our order came quickly. This is great place to stop for lunch. Styled with German architecture, Altstadt Brewery is a definite tourist treat. Able to handle large parties or Group Tours, lots of Merch, live music, there's something for the whole family. As always, eat and enjoy in Good Health.
