Alvear Roof Bar

Really nice view over the city of Buenos Aires from the rooftop bar. There are two terraces you can pick from, the second of which wasn’t crowded at all. The service wad excellent. The hotel overall is very impressive and the bar experience was as expected.

We had an absolutely incredible experience. The sunset views are awesome and the food (we had starters and selection of sushi) was fantastic. The bar has a super nice vibe (including lounge music) and atmosphere.

My husband & I made an advance reservation for a special evening with drinks and lite bites, while enjoying the sunset at this upscale rooftop bar. We had read the reviews & were looking forward to a classy, relaxing evening with wonderful views of BA. When we first arrived there was easy listening music being played on the sound system, but about 5 minutes later, the volume was turned up very high & a DJ started playing club/dancing type music that did not fit the atmosphere, the clientele or an upscale location. We could hardly hear each other talk & it was not a relaxing. I mentioned the music volume and genre choice to the manager, but nothing changed. We noticed several couples get up and leave only an hour into their 2 hour reservation windows and assumed they felt like we did. We both ordered a total of 2 drinks each, but decided not to order food because we were not enjoying the loud, dance club music that was being played. We asked for our bill and also left early, before our 2 hour reservation window was over. For perspective, our ages are 57 & 65- still relatively young & we still know how to have fun dancing/partying, but this was not what we came to the rooftop bar for. What we would say to the management is to know your clientele, understand why this location is visited & have the environment reflect that.

The view is amazing! Try to make a reservation earlier and find a table closer to the edge. They made me a mocktail margarita, sushi was okay. Rest of the food was nice. Looks like a really nice hotel and the history behind the Alvear family is quite interesting. Service was good and they have a minimum for how much you have to order so eat and drink up!

This is on top of one of the most luxurious hotels in Argentina: the Alvear Palace. The hotel has an elegant, classic style, with reminiscences of the glorious ’20s in Argentina (Belle Epoque). The Bar is on the 11th floor, on an open-air terrace with great views of Recoleta. It offers light dishes and signature drinks. Address: Alvear Av. 1891.

What a great spot for a special (or any) occasion! This is a lovely space with great views, professional and friendly service, fortunately lots of heaters, and very tasty dishes. My wife and I had some great cocktails and a few snacks. The salmon nigiri was super fresh, the carne empanadas w/ 3 salsas were great and the phyllo rolls w/ vegetables and teriyaki sauce were very good as well. Unf., my pix didn't come out great but here they are!

Nice Fancy Roof Top Bar in town. Perfect to have a drinks with friends, couples or a nice after office on the top of the Alvear Hotel in Recoleta. Very tasty dishes to share. Hamburgers and sandwiches of meet and salmon are the individual choises. Amazing views around. Perfect time to go: Definetly Sunset. Tips on Cash. Excelent service.

I was expecting more from a rooftop fancy bar in a good hotel. The place itself is nice but super overpriced. We ordered 2 cocktails which was less then OK in my opinion. The sushi was OK but not much more then that. The waiter was really nice but the service wasn't good.

Went to the rooftop bar at Alvear Palace Hotel for sunset drinks and had a fun time overall. The sunset itself isn't anything mind-blowing, but you do get nice views of the city, the river, and the Floralis Generica lit up, which was a cool thing to see. One thing to know going in is that there's a minimum bar tab and a two-hour time limit, which can be a little annoying if you're just hoping for one quick drink and a small bite. That said, the drinks and food were solid. The Grey Goose martinis were well made, and the buffalo mozzarella caprese appetizer was really good and easy to recommend. Good spot for a sunset drink if you're okay settling in for a bit rather than popping in and out.

Decent views and food, good service, but not the best for rooftop views. The food was mixed, but all of it seemed very fresh. The views on one side are very nice, especially at night. The ambiance is very nice at night with the flames, lights, and general buzz of the crowd.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the view is amazing as well as the overall look of the hotel. I had a Paloma and the empanadas, Play both were delicious. I have no complaints whatsoever!

One of my favorite spots we visited during my time in Buenos Aires. Amazing sunset views and also amazing cool views of the airport where you can see planes taking off. I had the espresso martini which was pretty good, it came with some nuts on the side to nibble on

Right now the bar does 3 seatings a night. 7,9,11 pm. Because if protocols. Very nice service good drinks small fortune but good hygiene protocols and lovely light snacks. Of course lovely ambiance

Beautiful terrace bar at the famous Alvear Hotel in Recoleta. It is located on the 11th floor of the hotel and has a wonderful view of the city. In addition to a nice selection of cocktails, it also offers a wide variety of appetizers. They also have an indoor seating area with a couple of tables, but the best seat in the house is in the terrace. Service is great, and the atmosphere is very cool. Very nice place to catch a drink before dinner.

We went to this rooftop bar for a cocktail before dinner. The view is lovely at sunset and the seating is relaxed and casual. The ambient noise was low enough to permit conversation. We had a vodka martini and a specialty cocktail called "Green and Curious", which included gin, basil, and fresh cucumber with tonic water. It was quite refreshing. There are limited wines by the glass, but plenty of choices by the bottle. If you have a group, they offer cocktails by the pitcher. We ordered the smoked salmon appetizer which was good, but came without any accompaniment other than a soy-sauce based dip. Servers were very helpful though service was a bit slow, perhaps because the bar was popular and tables were full.

Wonderful view and playful, relatively sophisticated pop music provide a chill, relaxed and fun evening atmosphere.
