Amalfi Ristorante - Review - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"This BYOB in the Northeast has a menu of Amalfi classics for lunch and dinner. This means you can stop by for grilled calamari and a prosciutto and mozzarella panini at lunch and return later for heartier options like veal medallions and a pan-seared branzino (don’t forget to bring a bottle of wine). We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Candis R. McLean

When we got to the restaurant, we were greeted right away and seated quickly. They brought us water immediately which was nice. The server asked if we had brought our own wine since the restaurant doesn’t carry wine. While we were looking over the menu, the chef came out with two small bruschettas. They were simple but very tasty and a nice surprise. We ordered the octopus and calamari as appetizers, and they came out in about 10 minutes. Both were fresh and cooked really well. For dinner, my wife got the Penne Sofia and I ordered the Veal Salerno. Her dish was excellent and probably the best plate of the night. My veal had good flavor but was a little on the dry side. Other than that, the only small thing I’d mention was the Coke wasn’t served in the style I prefer. Overall though, the food was really good, and every single waiter we interacted with was polite, helpful, and made the experience enjoyable.

As a longtime Local Guide and Northeast Philadelphia resident, I’m thrilled to have discovered Amalfi Italian Cuisine—now our new favorite spot for authentic Italian fare. We visited to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and everything from the food to the ambiance exceeded expectations. The gnocchi with chicken and spinach was exceptionally fresh and flavorful, while the chicken parmigiana was generously portioned with a rich, well-balanced sauce. Service was attentive and friendly, and the cozy yet refined atmosphere made the evening feel special. I actually found Amalfi by chance while traveling down Bustleton Avenue and making a quick stop, and I’m so glad I did. We’ll definitely be returning to explore more of the menu—highly recommended for anyone seeking quality Italian dining in Northeast Philly.

From the moment we arrived, the service at this restaurant was impeccable. The waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. What stood out the most was the staff's attention to detail; they held the door open for us upon arrival and departure, which was a lovely touch. The food was simply divine. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. The presentation was also beautiful, making the meal a feast for both the eyes and the palate. It's clear that the chef uses only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. Overall, this dining experience was top-notch. The combination of outstanding service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere made for a truly memorable evening. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special culinary experience.

Had reservations with a friend at 6:30 and was seated right away. Staff was friendly and welcoming, interior clean and cozy. It was a Saturday so it got pretty loud in there no thanks to some clearly tipsy patrons next to us. After ordering they brought over two complimentary little bruschetta bites which was tasty. There's also bread and oil which was warm and delicious. Didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. For apps we shared a octopus & calamari alla narano. The portion size was generous. Their octopus and calamari was really fresh and super tender. Seasoned perfectly and tasted delicious. For entrees my friend got penne sofia which was delicious. I got the cappelini amalfi and was pretty disappointed. There was NO SEASONING whatsoever. So bland. The pasta was overcooked to the point it looked like ramen noodles and fell apart really easily. Not a lot of crab in it as well. I feel like this dish was a mistake since everything else was delicious. I should have just sent it back. For dessert we shared the lemon cake which fantastic. Great texture, not too sweet, and was pretty light. Great way to end the meal.

First time trying this Gem! The atmosphere was so beautiful and tastefully decorated. The food was delicious and the servers were very accommodating. We shared the Long Hot appetizer which was a perfect start! My husband had the Veal Milanese and I ordered the Langoustinos!! Our meals were fantastic!! We finished with a Cappuccino and an espresso. Honestly, we were so full that we had no room for dessert! They are a BYOB so bring a nice bottle or two!🍷 Also, just an FYI….they do charge 3% for using a credit card. We cannot wait to return with friends!! ☺️

This is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to! The staff is amazing – the waiters are the nicest and most friendly people. I celebrated my birthday here and had such a great time. Everyone was so kind and fun. The food was delicious – everything I ordered tasted amazing! And the latte here is just perfect. I highly recommend this place!

Absolutely a hidden GEM in the Northeast!! Food was phenomenal, service was great, and the owners even came out to make sure we all had a decent time. It was also BYOB. Great atmosphere and I highly recommend!!

Just had my second visit to Amalfi Ristorante, and I think it’s officially time for a review! The food is absolutely delicious - every bite takes you straight to the Italian coast. The interior design, the playlist, the atmosphere… it makes you forget you’re actually in Northeast Philadelphia. Hands down, this is the only spot in the neighborhood that truly delivers that Coast experience. Bravo to the Amalfi Ristorante team — you’ve created something really special!

Yelp
Bravo! Great food complimented with great service. Home made pasta was like silk, lamb chops perfectly cooked, Caprese salad was tasty but missing basil. Keep up the good work. We will be back. A bit noisy but to be expected on a Saturday night. I might add that the restaurant was very clean.

Yelp
Food was outstanding! Had the Eggplant for appetizer and veal saltimbucco for entree. Service was excellent as well. Restaurant was busy so make sure you call for a reservation. Highly recommend, we will be back!

Yelp
Good attentive service. Good food. Nice atmosphere. But nothing extraordinary. A cut above the typical neighborhood Italian fair.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of meeting two good friends for lunch at the recommendation of my son. What a lovely place-great food-felt like I was on the Amalfi Coast. Ambience, food and service a ten plus. Highly recommend. I'm actually bringing another set of friends there next week-I was that impressed!

Yelp
Amazing food and service. First of all, you will feel like you are sitting on the Amalfi coast because the dining room is bright and airy. The seafood tastes fresh and is prepared with just the right touch of seasoning, nothing too heavy, everything delicious! And the service is friendly and helpful and appreciative of their customers.
